Her guilting and instance of maliciousness in Barn Mates is just a taste of what Lapis is capable of on this front, I think. She has as long of a ways to go as Jasper does in terms of issues, though Jasper's are more outward displays of anger and being irrationally prideful (from what we can tell)

They haven't passed the opportunity yet. Yellow Diamond could still kill her. If they want her to remain just a simple villain who showed up to wreck shit once, she needs to die before anything like a redemption arc happens.

That being said, I think there's a lot of potential with her having been someone actually from the war. She's a very old gem compared to Peridot and knew of Rose which is the most interesting aspect. But I also think it would be silly to add her to the cast before we introduce a slew of homeworld gems who are actually a threat and won't be redeemed. You can't just have Steven acquire a collection of redeemed homeworld gems without raising the stakes.

You've got that exactly backwards. If they wanted to write her off they should have done it in Jail Break. The only way they could make a character death decent now would be to give her some development to make it meaningful.

January was some straight bullshit though. They had never done anything quite like that hiatus, and the break from October to January was assumed to be unusual. It seems like everyone was assuming that the episodes would air soon, even members of the crew said it. Hell, there was even that accidental promo with the clip from Barn Mates, so pretty much everyone assumed that they'd air at least up to that in a month or two at worst.

This time we have a confirmation that the episodes will return sometime in the summer, which could be as early as the 20th, and that it's going to be some kind of big event.

Now that I think about it Homeworld for sure knows that Garnet and Pearl are still alive. What's stopping Blue Diamond from confronting one of her former best friends on why she betrayed her?

I never thought yellow diamonds design was bad, and when I watched the episode the voice acting blew me away - it fits perfectly. The ways she speaks she sounds powerful and in charge, Patti lupone was the best choice
