Gift a /co/mrade.
Post your wishlist.
Enjoy the best time of the year.

List of ungifted wishlists and instructions: http://pastebin.com/2R25RyGY

So share your list, join in some holiday story times and above all else be Merry.

Please only post your list once per thread, no begging, and keep it friendly. Remember to say thanks and maybe post a pic if you get lucky.

There are a lot of wishlists that don't have addresses tied to them, without an address no one can purchase something for you and have it sent to you. To update that please open your list, select the "list settings" option in the top right corner, then in the window click "view details" for the list your are sharing then select or add an address under the "shipping address" in the middle if you don't want to share your full name please make a new address and use initials or some nickname.

Pretty small, but there was some fireworks on the opening night of the illumination, then everybody just left after the fireworks so got to enjoy the lights in quiet park which was nice!

R8X58ZE6WNWX .de here!

I spoiled my gift since unfortunately I won't be home in time to open it (it'll be sent to a friend's place while I'm off visiting my parents for Christmas and New Year's), and I just wanted to thank whoever got me Volume 5 of Marvel Now Deadpool. I only own 1 and 2 so that means I should get 3 and 4 as soon as I can. Regardless, bless you, kind anon! Can't wait to give it a good look!
>>
>>78289440

Wow nice, pretty handy to get to both Tokyo and Narite I imagine.

I had some friends who lived in Chiba, sung its praises to me.
>>
>>78289505
Yeah it is nice here. I really like the area. Never been to Gunma.

>>78289505
Also you the guy I told about where to get turkey in that other thread? Or is there a third anon in Japan in these threads?
>>
>>78289573

It's okay, quite rural but the people are nice. Starting to get colder now though.

>>78289597

Yep, I have my little note about the Subway turkey right next to me. It is appreciated.
>>

Learned something new about Christmas traditions there, didn't think it was still a thing unitl I checked wiki and it apparently still is.

So I'm in a but of a bind, I know I still have a couple presents coming in the mail, but I'm leaving this tuesday to drive home for the holidays and won't be back until Jan. 2nd, so I don't know if they're going to be delivered in time.

Gonna call my apartment office and see if I can get anyone to check and hold my packages if they come over the break.
>>
So how is everybody today?

Just went and helped my dad get some stuff for christmas and got a pork 'n' stuffing batch out of it, so I'm good right now.

Just updated the paste bin, we were down to 3 ungifted and now are back up to 8 due to the new wishilsts posted in this and the last thread.

So 8 ungifted, 220 gifted, a 97% gifting rate.

Watching Rise of the Guardians with the family today before heading out to pick out this year's ornaments for the rest of the family (I picked up a Cesar Romero Joker one from Hallmark before the move). My wife's been eyeing a Christmas-y Spider-Man at Hallmark here, while our daughter goes nuts every time she sees the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman that plays the 70s theme music.

>>78289143
Glad you finally got it! Now you just need a "You must be this tall to ride Space Mountain." sign to go with him.

>>78289173
Awesome. I hope you enjoy it, it's the book that got me started with Judge Dredd.

>>78291339
I really need to watch Darkwing Duck with my kids. I haven't seen it since I was like five or six. I always loved the episodes where Negaduck got all the villains to team up. In fact, Negaduck is probably the reason behind my love of inverted costume villains.

Also, I somehow forgot they made a Godzilla POP!, despite having seen one before the official release date at the Blockbuster up here. I need to get one for the classic monsters display I've been putting together.

>>78297437

I have "Built This City on Rock and Roll" for the theme of the whole town and music. Why the bet on "All Star"?

I think it's because people feel it captures Josuke and his gang's carefree nature and the general uplifting tone of the plot.

For my own money I'd bet on "Bohemian Like You"

Comic series based on Fantomas, who is sort of like an Edwardian-era cross between Hannibal Lecter and The Shadow. There was a massively popular series of murder-mystery serials and silent movies about him made in the 1910s, he's considered by some as the grandfather of the comic book supervillain.

No idea if it's been published in english, I pick up BDs in french whenever possible anyway. I'm sure there must be fan translations around someplace though.

Half contemplating going to the Christmas rock lotto. Bunch of musicans in local bands get their names put into a hat, redrawn into new bands, and are given 12 hours to put together an original set.

The results tend to be unsurprisingly mixed though so I dunno if I want to put in the walk and the ten bucks for it.

Eh, it'll be fine. Everyone will like their gifts (I didn't know what to get most of them, and I've only met half of them, not counting my own family) and I'll make sure to give credit where it's due, so maybe next year table presents can be solely her headache. Mum "suggested" that the Simpsons Lego minifigure I got for myself should go to my older brother. I plan on heading back into city centre on Monday to pick up another one for me, as well as the various Disney Christmas comics IDW put out this week.
>>78290293
Pretty good, table present flummery aside. I've caught up with Ashens' advent calendars, and I've finally scanlated some more Michel Vaillant pages. Don't expect the finished product until late January - I REALLY fell behind with the scanlating this year.

I also need to rewatch some of Retsupurae's Christmas videos, and see a Christmas movie that isn't A Muppet Christmas Carol, Nativity!, or some bloody awful made-for-TV gubbins that my mum will insist on watching as a guilty pleasure. Damn it all, woman, I got Polar Bear Princess back when I was working at Poundland specifically for that kind of situation!

Finally watching Elf for the first time tonight while working my way through the rest of The Shade and then doing some holiday reading with Krampus: The Shadow Of St. Nicholas.

Scribs, thanks for the gifts. I've never seen Hell Comes To Frog Town but love Roddy Piper, and Amelia's going to love the Krypto doll. She has several Imaginext DC characters and her favorite one is a tiny Krypto that came with Superman. I also received the Reverse-Flash children's book for her from an anon in Ohio.

Thank you both for the gifts, I'm sure she's going to love them. I especially enjoyed the letters included with both and can't wait to read them to her on Christmas.

No, I'm not. Mine is pretty much what you described it should be.

Anyways, I've finally seen Star Wars a few hours ago. It might actually be my favorite Star Wars movie, but I'mma still pick Episode VI as the best, probably cause of nostalgia googles.

Well, I've more or less been stuck downstairs with the hyperactive kids, so I didn;'t get to finish The Shade yet, but I enjoyed Elf and loved Krampus: The Shadow Of St. Nicholas, which happened to be downstairs still. I guess Shade's my bedside reading tonight then.

Glad to hear it helped out then. Did it look alright? They had a couple at the Target nearby, but they all looked poorly painted so I decided to risk it with ordering online.

When I was working for a company that sold bootleg Japanese and ECW wrestling tapes in the mall we sold some legit merch, one being books. We had a book for Arn Anderson. Never read it but told not to because he wrote the book as if it was kayfabe. I've only read Mick Foley's first book myself.
>>
>>78310696
>he wrote the book as if it was kayfabe
Huh. My wife likes The Rock and was interested in learning more about him when I started getting into wrestling, so along with Flair's, I also bought The Rock's autobiography. While I've not read it yet, I saw some reviews saying that he goes back and forth throughout the book, writing some chapters as Dwayne Johnson and others as The Rock. That should be an interesting read.
>>
>>78310795
That would annoy me. If I wanted to read a book in kayfabe, I'll read a comic. I'd rather read about the real person behind the gimmick, how much of themselves really bleed into the character.

Flair's was all real and had some fun stories about he and Piper. He also has me much more interested in Sting than I had been previously. I've only seen his most recent match with Rollins and a couple with Ric in the past so far. Those Flair/Sting matches were great.
>>
>>78311353
Some great matches are Sting vs Vader. Sting was never the greatest in ring performer but had charisma that attracted people like a magnet. Him and Vader went all out. Sting and the Great Muta had some great work together, both as a team and as rivals.

I'll check those out. I recently grabbed the Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe DVD from the local Wal-Mart's Black Friday leftovers for $5. I've only ever seen his match with Hogan at WMVI, so I figured what the hell. I've not had time to watch it yet though.

>>
>>78312313

>>78312359
Warrior's best match probably came from WMVII, the retirement match between him and Savage. He's had a lot of stinkers, but he's had a lot of memorable matches in his stint worth checking out. I was lucky to get the FYE version of The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior with the exclusive bonus disc. Had another Savage match on there from SummerSlam 1992, another lost gem.
>>
>>78312385
>FYE version
A while back I was seriously considering doling out like $20 more for the Circuit City version of Born To Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story for "an extra disc loaded with Piper's Pit segments". Turned out it was actually like 5-10 minutes, so I just got the normal one.
>>
>>78312426
FYE had another special I had to buy. It was either the the Hulk Hogan Unreleased or the Hulk Hogan Ultimate Anthology set that came with a 4th disc of at least 5 extra matches. they had like 2 when I picked it up and never saw it since. FYE was great for getting cheap WWE DVD sets in the past. Now it's K-Mart (although they stopped that for some reason this year. I miss those $5 dvds).

Awesome, the Drano didn't work and I don't have the receipt to get a refund. Fucking hell this apartment drives me nuts sometimes.

I've mostly picked up sets for guys I like (aside from Warrior, whom I've not had time to formulate much of an opinion on) and haven't spent more than $13 on any of them. The following are what I've got so far.

-The Ric Flair Definitive Collection
-Macho Man: The Randy Savage Story
-Hulk Hogan Anthology (the 4-disc version you mentioned)
-Born To Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story
-Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe
-John Cena: My Story (This was $2 at Half-Price before the move and I decided to see what all the internet fuss was about)

I wish they'd do a definitive set for Andre's matches too, but the only thing I can find is an old 1-disc documentary with a couple of matches that's gotten mediocre reviews.
>>
>>78312825
I got that Andre set. Lackluster it is. I'd rather have the A&E Biography on dvd. I have too many sets to list here off the top of my head. Hell, I can't even tell you what's on my to watch list. So many I've picked up I haven't made time to watch with so much wrestling airing these days.

All this rasslin' talk got me to start my ECW Unreleased vol 1 set. Vol 2 will be next. Now I just need to buy vol 3. I also want that Foley set that came out not too long ago.

Oh man, thank you. I'm never gonna complain about Christmas presents - no matter how late.

I teach both kids and older students - some adult groups too. It's so weird - you get them on their own and they're pleasant and engaged... but all together they're like a pack of wild dogs.

I feel bad pushing my list out there but I'm working part time and finishing up my doctorate so any comics-santa goodness will be greatly appreciated.

tldr: thanks anon!

I meant on Amazon.

Pretty great. I got a collection date for my friend's amplifier (I bought it a couple of weeks back but it arrived DOA) and my girlfriend and I just went out to get the last bits for christmas dinner. Which is, of course, to say we got a shitload of hooch and pigs in blankets.

delicious pigs in delicious blankets.

Also, a woman on the bus got a few inches in front of my face and told me my manners stink because I didn't observe a queue that only she seemed to observe. last I checked, getting on the bus was a free-for-all.

Won't lie, that put a dampener on my day, but otherwise I'm cool.

Morning /co/, well I'm all done work for the year so I intend to get a good deal of reading done over my nice holiday break.

Aside from praising the name the glory and the power that is Santaseid, I am also working on this juicy little number that I'm going to post Thursday.

Twas the Night before Christmas
And all through /co/
Not an Anon was posting
Not even in the Cheesecake thread featuring the art of Frank Cho

More to come...

You don't have to worry about putting your wishlist up. It's all about sharing the love round. either way, I've got a prime subscription so there's a chance it might arrive on christmas/boxing day if you're lucky and I've even set an alarm on my phone and put your gift in my basket to make double sure I get it for you.

Also, I may as well share a funny story about one of my teachers when I was a kid, might make you feel better or something, or maybe just give you a chuckle.

I was in a science lesson in secondary school (chemistry, if I remember correctly) and there was one kid in the row behind me who was being a total jerkface. After about half an hour of intermittent and covert provocation the whole thing escalated and we ended up fighting in the middle of the lab. obviously the teacher came over to break it the hell up but by that time one or both of us was on the ground and I never noticed said teacher had come over and I grabbed what I thought was the other kid's leg and bit down. hard. like, stupid hard.

I ended up gnashing on this dude's leg for a couple of seconds before I realised that the leg I'd just locked my jaw on was way thicker and way hairier than the other kid's leg and only then, did I stop and slowly look up to see my science teacher giving me a look like thunder.

obviously detentions were handed out and such and the other kid and I actually came out of school on pretty good terms with one another, but I'll not forget the "oh shit" feeling I got when I realised whose leg I bit for as long as I live.

It's going good. I helped my mom cook a duck that turned out great. Also talked with comics and art with a friend, I was telling him about an Animal man cover that had a monkey at a typewriter, a reference to the theory that if you leave a monkey with a typewriter long enough, it'll make a work of Shakespeare. The only thing I didn't like was my dad and my mom argued a lot and my mom cried. I hate when that happens.
>>
>>78315019
>Frank Cho
WHERE?!?
>>
>>78315065
Made me laugh and wut simultaneously anon. Thank you.

I haven't had to deal with 'biters' yet thank Christ but I'm more surprised by the older teenagers - especially when I do college/uni classes.

I get it when the kids act like little maniacs. That's kind of their job - just like how I've got mine. But when you get a group of supposed 'adults' spazzing out it's difficult to know how to react.

My classes are all a good bunch really so I can't complain too much. But holy hell is it exhausting to keep them in check. I feel like I've just staggered out a boxing match when I'm commuting home.

I've promised myself that I am going to at least give myself Christmas day off with no work. Gonna watch cartoons - read comics and stuff my face as much as possible.

Nuts to that... What /co/-related gifts are you getting friends and family this year, /co/?

>Family
My older brother's getting the first trade of that Rescue Rangers comic BOOM! put out when they had the Disney licence. My future niece-in-law is getting Li'l Gotham volume 1, Tiny Titans volume 4, and some weird little trade about a sheep and a rabbit having cute adventures in the city.

>Friends
I'd planned on giving some pals who are kinda getting into comics some USB sticks with a bunch of what I consider to be the very best comics ever: Kirby's Fantastic Four, Ditko's Spider-Man, Steranko's Nick Fury, Prince Valiant, Herbie, Corto Maltese: The Ballad of The Salt Sea, stuff like that.

It really is. 100% is still a pipe dream, as it's just too impractical (people will always drop by and just dump their wishlist, and what do we do about those assholes - ban people from posting their wishlists after a certain date?) but it sounds nice all the same.

Here if you step out of line a fight can break out. We have lines for our buses to keep it organized. It's just something we do. One of the greatest european comics ever written. If you've watched Jodorowsky's Dune it's pretty much the closest thing you'll get to what the movie would have been short of Moebius' actual storyboards someday being published.

Tons of psychedelic-surrealist sci-fi mindfuckery. Lots of moments and scenarios that will remind you of sci-fi/fantasy movies, only those movies are considerably younger than the book. She did real good.

I got my brother Superman :For all seasons, a friend the first two copies of Preacher and WE3, and another friend a copy of Superior. Also I gave another friend a copy of Shazam the monster society of evil in November

All that incomprehensible vote-of-no-confidence blabbering in The Phantom Menace was lifted directly out of The Incal. Lucas couldn't put together a marginally-comprehensible script even when he was outright poaching superior material.

How's everybody doing tonight? I'm just stopping by for a bit before doing some dishes and heading to bed.

The missus and I are wrapping gifts tonight and plan to set them under the tree to surprise the kids.

We went to Hallmark earlier to pick out this year's ornaments. Our daughter got a Spider-Man in a scarf and Santa hat holding a gift. I held the baby close to the shelf and let him look over the ornaments before he reached out and grabbed one of Gonzo in a cannon (he really seems to like Muppets) that I hadn't even noticed yet.

We failed in getting the one my wife wanted, which was a Lynda Carter Wonder Woman that plays the 70s TV theme. I'm hunting for an affordable one on eBay currently since Hallmark's site claims it's "sold out online and in stores" indefinitely.

So have people who were gifted in the last two weeks received their packages? I was gifted in that time, but nothing yet. Unless it shows up this week.

That's pretty much exactly what I've been doing the past week. Falling asleep around 1am and waking up at 4am, then again from 4pm to 9pm. Hopefully staying up does the trick.

Really? I was re-reading the manga when Part 3 was being released and it was almost a 1:1 adaptation from what I remember. Admittedly, I only have the manga up through just before Iggy's fight with Pet Shop, but yeah.
>>
>>78346322
>Part 3 was being released and it was almost a 1:1 adaptation from what I remembe
That's what I mean. When you read something...you're reading it.
But when you put it into an animated medium and you're doing 1:1....the time actually feels like time.
They really could have parsed some things down and things that didn't need to be two parters could have just been one.

I just can't wait to get to Jojolion, that sounds cool.

>mfw packages are probably just going to be left on my doorstep for two weeks by the delivery men

I don't know anyone in my apartment complex well enough to ask for them to hold my mail or anything for me either. Fuck.

Frank might be crazy, but at least he has enough sense to not drag kids into his line of work.

Now off to do more MK Punisher!
>>
>>78350075

Ironically, that was me too.
>>
>>78350599
Hahah I thought it was...but I didn't want to be wrong.
>>
>>78348116
That's some impressive Man-Thing.

>>78348723
Glad I bought that book when I did because its price has skyrocketed since. When you get it let me know how it is.

>>78349334
Marvel, please, PLEASE collect the random MAX one-shots and issue 75 please. My Punisher shelf is near perfect for me, but without them it never will be.
>>
Anyone well versed in minifigs know where I can get a Daphne and Velma lego minifig at reasonable price?

Google sent me to "bricklinks" and that site has them at outrageous value.

This is pretty fucked
>>
14 posts left. 3 of you want to send out gifts before then, right?
>>
Tonight I watched the copy of My Neighbor Totoro that Riddler gifted me with my two sisters, 22 and 16, they both enjoyed the ridiculousness of it. By no means a Christmas movie, but it has the feel good aspect of a Christmas movie.
>>
Headed to bed. Goodnight, friends.
>>
>>78350757
Some of the best stories for Punisher are about really fucked up things. I don't think I actually read this one somehow, so thanks KS for the storytime.

But seriously, Marvel, collect this shit. Now. Guaranteed my money that way.
>>
To 1I2YW5CCBITJE, I got an email saying your gift will be coming late due to a delay, sorry about that!
>>
>>78350619
Custom bind it.
Yer Frank collection is more complete than mine anyways. But, with the Punisher showing up in DD, they might reprint or collect new stuff to cash in.
>>
Down to 2 lists, 204KAK6YAP4HA is now getting a gift.

>>78345658
I'm glad you got a kick out of your gift. Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!
>>
Who's left? I shall finish it if that's ok.
>>
>>78353067
That means I have to find the books that weren't collected and I'm too lazy to scour the city for a handful of books. Right now at least. I'll see what the new year brings, but I just might have to because it looks like they won't get collected otherwise. And your Punisher collection is a hell of a fine one as well.
>>
To WMAHLJVM16J7 edit your list and you'll get a gift! I see you chatted above!

To 1L8AT27DLNETZ I'm working on it. Amazon Jp is not as friendly as other sites.
>>
>>78353582
eBay bruh. I think it's nice that Max is being reprinted into those large tpbs.
Danke. I just want Frankencastle, that'll be good enough for me.
>>
>>78353582
>>78353667
Yeah man. eBay is how I found most of Alan Moore supreme.
>>
>>78353667
I really hate eBay, though.

Yeah, people who mixed out on the Max series can finally get their own copies without selling a kidney to do so.

If I had the money right now you'd have the book. It's a hell of a nice HC.
>>
>>78353754
Mad deals if you know how to look.

>>78353759
It's not perfect. But it's how I bought half of my shelf.
Pssh, good thing you only need one kidney to live. Maybe one of those trades will go OOP too.
The whole run was really nice. 'Cept In the Blood.
>>
>>78353843
Got the first 12 issues and the 3 main issues of Judgment Day for a dollar each.
I'm just missing the second arc so once that ever shows up im golden golden.

Are you in the US? You can go onto the USPS website and request a mail hold. You just click the day you're leaving and the date you want the mail to be delivered upon your arrival.

After FrankenCastle I didn't like any Remender Punisher. Didn't find it entertaining. I'm looking for this one OOP trade by Chuck Dixon for the Joe Kubert art.
