Deck the halls.
Grab some cocoa.
Get comfy.
Enjoy storytimes, contests, and trivia.
Gift a /co/mrade.
Post your wishlist.
Enjoy the best time of the year.

List of ungifted wishlists and instructions: http://pastebin.com/2R25RyGY

So share your list, join in some holiday story times and above all else be Merry.

Please only post your list once per thread, no begging, and keep it friendly. Remember to say thanks and maybe post a pic if you get lucky.

There are a lot of wishlists that don't have addresses tied to them, without an address no one can purchase something for you and have it sent to you. To update that please open your list, select the "list settings" option in the top right corner, then in the window click "view details" for the list your are sharing then select or add an address under the "shipping address" in the middle if you don't want to share your full name please make a new address and use initials or some nickname.

Getting real close to 100% gifted! We can do it!

Edit your list and add a /co/ item (I recommend Chew vol 1) so I can gift you and finish this!
>>
>>78354870
Why are you refusing the guy to request what he wants?
>>
>>78354912
If that's the list I think it is all he has on there are an MIT hat and shirt and $50 shoes
>>
>>78354944
And? Is there a rule that says what people must and can't have on their wishlist?
>>
who still needs gifts? hasn't gotten one?
>>
>>78354912
It's not so much that I won't do that, but I feel it's kind of silly to post in a /co/ Secret Santa and not have /co/ things. He also remarked in the previous thread to remove his list, but we won't have that!

These threads seem to be slowing down a little as Christmas approaches so am gonna throw my list out there just in case: 289CEA8I2RAER uk

Have seen a few anons saying they only want new stuff so thought I'd add that I'm happy with whatever anyone can gift.

I'm the anon who's just finished their research - so I've had a rough year trying to pull together enough to make ends meet.

It's not a huge deal I know, but the generosity of some of you guys has been seriously impressive. The last year has been tough for a number of reasons and a little kindness from a stranger does absolute wonders. Anyway... I hope you all have fantastic Christmases.

These have been fun threads too - nice chats and good times.

If this is you too then you seem like an anon on a mission to save Christmas. Have you thrown up your list this thread yet? It might be worth it if someone is able to repay your kindness.
>>
I could always storytime a Christmas comic or two, after I'm done with my own thread.

What do you guys want first:

>"Deep sexual _______"
or
>"Who's on _____?"
>>
>>78357135
The second one sounds funnier.

Also, Minifig, you know where I can get Lego figs on the cheap?

Thank you, SDU, this actually arrived a couple of days ago but i've been so swamped with work i'm only now finding the time to post this.

Also thank you, Santaseid for reminding me this book exists, i look forward to reading it!

And last but not least, thank you /co/. These threads really make my christmas and i can barely find the words to show how appreciative i am.

Merry christmas, happy holidays and goodwill to all /co/mrades!

Merry Christmas folks. I got let out of hospital for over the Christmas season. Currently full of the drugs and not the good ones. going back in for some more transfusions but at least I'm out of there for a breather. Thanks for the well wishes, some.... I dunno, 7 threads or back or so, folks.

How's the Christmas cheer going? I've missed these threads. Any streams still up?

Hey! So you did get to make it out for Christmas? That's something at least. Hope everything goes well! Not sure if Elusive's stream is still running, but I believe he plans to stream Gremlins 1 and 2 sometime soon.

Haha, I am in full support of Tiesto Claus.
I was all out of wack, so the night before last I didn't sleep and I tried to make it until 10pm yesterday, but I ended up falling asleep at 6pm and sleeping until 4am, so I think I'll be able to switch myself around. Usually skipping a night's sleep and then going to bed the next day at a decent hour does the trick.

That usually does the trick, or what worked the best for me was having only 1 hour of sleep, gives you enough to make it to the time you would want to go to bed to fix things.

Hey Scribs, yeah they let me out for good behavior. I have to go back and keep away from people with infections and that jazz but at least I'm home for the holiday. Feels like I'm drunk all the time, only without the enjoyable escapism.

If Elusive is doing Gremlins I got to get on that. I've not seen a single Christmas film this year. It's a Wonderful Life is on later but that's just depressing. It's like Grave of Fireflies, you're watching the systematic destruction of someone for a couple of hours. Ain't my idea of entertainment.

>>78358184
Cheers fella. I don't envy seven hours on the road, but be safe in doing so if it's bad weather.

Morning, all! How's everyone doing today?

Anyone know of a good site for free PDF-format books? I got my wife a Kindle for Christmas and, while I've got a couple of books on there (and Amazon threw on like 40 different English to _____ dictionaries), I'd like to get some more to start her off. Currently trying to figure out how to make CBR/CBZ files into PDFs too. Don't even know if comics would work well on a Kindle though...
>>
>>78359985
>Currently trying to figure out how to make CBR/CBZ files into PDFs too
Unpack them and then use a converter to turn the image folder into a PDF.
Did the same to get some stuff on my Gen1 Nook.
Works pretty well
>>
>>78359648
Pssh, you know what I mean. The people I currently live with/near. Because all I've bought so far is something for my stepbrother. I still need to shop for five more people. I'm running out of time!
>>
>>78359985
Do you mean the new kindle tablet? Because there's a great cbr/cbz reader for Android you and put on there by emailing yourself the apk file.
>>
>>78359985
Any kind of torrent site would be my guess. As for CBR to PDF, Davey nailed it. Open the CBR with winrar to extract the image folder and make it a pdf.

First Publishing Holiday Special it is, then!

As for cheap minifigures of Dpahne and Velma... I hate to say it, but bricklink is probably your best bet; eBay doesn't sell them for less than about $22 inc. shipping, unless you want to get in a bidding war that'll last until Christmas Eve...
>>
>>78360119
Damn, looking for the new figs for Daphne and Velma...but the price range for Velma in particular on there is insane.

As for me, I've finally gotten the last of my family's presents wrapped up; my parents are getting a donation to the local children's hospital in their name, and my brothers are also getting charity gifts: a toilet and manure for crops.

My parents are also getting fish oil caplets; those things are supposed to help the brain, and those two have been getting pretty forgetful lately...

Download that on the Kindle. You can just put cbr/cbz on the SD card and it will find them. Also if you want to you can download es file explorer and set up a shared folder on your computer with all your comics in it then you can read them over wifi.

It's not uncommon for female toys in a gender-neutral/"boys" line to go for stupid prices; stores see them as "pegwarmers", so they don't get made as much. Supply and demand, and so on...

I'm still waiting for Steam to stop taking me to my profile when I just want to check my wishlist to see if anything's really cheap in the sales.

Delete your account, and try again. Even with all the same pictures.
Everyone gets bots, but you can get lucky with a new batch of people. Also, newer accounts get shown to more people as a way to ensure that they stay longer, resetting during a holiday is a good way to get a lot of potential matches.

Happy Festivus, my Christmas cheer /co/horts!

2 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS WARNING! I hope everyone finished their shopping. I've got all my presents wrapped and ready.

What's everyone's day-before-the-Eve outlook? I'm pretty pumped the bookcase I ordered the other day should arrive today; wasn't expecting it until after Christmas. I used to keep some of my books on a shelf hung on the wall above my bed, but a while back it gave way and I woke up to my books crashing on top of me. Fortunately only one got damaged, but should be a fairly simple repair. Happy I can put this thing together today and get all my great new books on a shelf!

I guess I'll shill my list one final time this season; maybe add some more books to the new bookcase: VJ9BT1OBNF7. Merry Christmas one and all!

OBS would be your best bet for a streaming software. Corbaeu was using hitbox until he decided to leave his stream up overnight and got it banned, then he moved to vaughnlive which Elusive was also using.

OBS is super easy to set up too so you shouldnt have much trouble.

Well, I've got most of the basics down for either Vaugnlive or Hitbox, but I'm still trying to get the right aspect ratio down for stuff which is pretty difficult.
>>
I might as well bump this thread by enlightening you delightful people on an incredibly British tradition at Christmas: the pantomime. Now, it's hard to describe pantomime in one sentence (although I suppose "Fractured Fairy Tales + improv theatre with b-list celebrities" comes pretty close...) so I'll just post a link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usoGRi8mz4s
>>
>>78380029
I use xsplit along with first hitbox and then vaughnlive. After you set up an account you'll need to look up on their site how to link it to xsplit, you'll basically have to set up a new broadcast and drop in your account info.

With xsplit you set up difference 'scenes' for different files. Then when I broadcast I can just click Scene 1, Scene 2, etc to cycle between the different material. It's worked well for movies since there's a small number of files to work with, if you're putting together a big list of things you might need a different way to do it

No ones making you gift it
A lot of wish lists have gone ungifted before.
I'm just saying that kicking it out just to get "100" is pretty stupid.
>>
>>78383195
I always thought of these threads as being wish lists from /co/messes than anything with a strict set of eligibility. I got someone a large set of bookmarks once
>>
>>78383197
not really. it's a stupid list with expensive shit on it not related to the board at all. take your shitty list and go
>>
Well, I don't think we should be in the business of policing people's lists. But it does seem clear that if your list has stuff on it people aren't interested in gifting, there's a good chance you might not get gifted. If we weren't at about 100%, I suspect it would be forever neglected.

But if it was gifted, and we're at 100%, then I say we should close it all out at the end of this thread and make the next thread just a Christmas cheer thread.
>>
>>78383249
Not my list.
I'm just saying that, so? Don't gift it then.
This is supposed to be about generally good people and gifting strangers on the Internet.

If someone's list doesn't appeal to anyone? They don't get gifted it's simple. Doesn't me we should be so damn stringent about it.
>>
>>78383295
That's what I'm trying say. Likeliest scenario is that it doesn't get gifted.
It happens.
>>
>>78383312
>This is supposed to be about generally good people and gifting strangers on the Internet...
...comic books and cartoons
>>
>>78383295

I gifted that guy. it's 100% now.
>>
>>78383365
That's what binds us together, yes. But wish lists are our personal stuff.
If an anon had a wish list all about cooking stuff like bowls or a certain whisk or whatever, does that mean we should kick that list out even if they are a good poster?
>>
>>78383391
Good idea. Brb, adding a load of PC parts to my list.
>>
>>78383426
No need to be facetious about it.
Clearly there's a lot of /co/ stuff you want, but what if a /co/mrade was really into cooking or kite flying?
Should we fault them that?

So they might go ungifted, but should we fault them that?
>>
>>78383445
Brb adding some D&G clothes as I'm a fashionista
>>
>>78383445
if they were really a /co/mrade they would have /co/ stuff on their list. your fighting a failing battle here. you're wrong, and they should have never posted a list with that drivel in the first place. and frankly i think next year if your list isn't /co/ related it shouldn't be added.
>>
>>78383475

>>78383507

>>
>>78383575
You're harshing my cheer.

So policing them is just so Scrooge.

So did we hit 100% gifted and we're just flinging shit out of boredom or what's going on here.
>>
>>78383700
We hit 100 and this started over the last list which had no /co/ stuff on it
>>
>>78383700
Captain /co/nverse is trying to justify his actions

I know he's not, but it's fun he's taking it to heart and trying to justify someone list dropping with non co stuff
>>
>>78383731
We didn't hit 100 if there's still a list left.
>>
>>78383750
It's called rounding up.
>>
>>78383750
I thought that the last list, which this started, was gifted already.

>>78383741
It's better than the alternative.
>>
>>78383766
No, it's called perpetual 99% because no one is gifting that list.
>>
>>78383794
It's called OCD.
>>
>>78383790
>I thought that the last list, which this started, was gifted already.
It was, someone bought him that chelsea hat, but these two idiots won't stop arguing.
>>
>>78383824
As one of those idiots I do deserve that. But this sort of thing has been creeping me out about these threads like that deadline that someone tried to propose a while ago.
>>
>>78383824

Well guess it is just boredom then. Kind of anticlimactic to see all these anons get cool things and then just two days from Christmas some guys decide to end the season by shitposting.

What are you guys doing to prep for tomorrow and friday then? Thank god I'm done with presents and don't have to cook anything this year, but I'm sure there's lots of other people in here probably stressing out.
>>
>>78383906
I'll probably spend the day on /co/ and fun post.
>>
>>78383867
I think the deadline thing was proposed to stop people from dropping lists in last second when they know we're trying to gift everyone, basically abusing us to get free stuff without gifting anyone themselves. While I don't very much agree with the deadline, I do think lists should at least be /co/ related. I mean, if you don't want /co/ related things, why are you even here? Unless of course it's just for an opportunity at something free.
>>
100%, this isn't the time for grinch posting this is the time for happiness!
>>
>>78383867
I think the deadline thing is silly, but I've been pushing for 100% these last few days because I think it would be a nice way to close out the season. I understand the frustration with the non-/co/ list, and I don't think anyone would disagree it's kind of lame (since it was obviously the last one left), but it was only one list. If next year there are a bunch of non-/co/ lists I expect the equation will change, but for now, why not just enjoy the cheer that we all spread?

>>78383906
I'm about to head into work, since I got saddled with the Christmas Eve Eve evening shift. Tomorrow it's heading out to see my family and begin celebrations.
>>
>>78383952
I'm dropping this.
It seems like other anons are getting annoyed by the two of us.

Threads usually run right on through New Years. You can still give/get gifts even if they/you have been given!
>>
>>78384310
I think someone mentioned in another thread yesterday that Shaggy wasn't an official nickname until Pup Named Scooby Doo.

So Sammy might predate that.

Sometimes people will show off what they got for Christmas and stuff. Storytimes continue when people have the time. The streamers could keep streaming if they were keen to. The holiday season doesn't end with Christmas!

>>78384344
That is true. You're probably right. I wonder what they did with that episode in French (if it even got a localization)?
>>
>>78384260
It depends on what everyone agrees on. My thought would be to remove the pastebin next thread and declare Secret Santa over, and just have a Christmas cheer thread. But others may have other ideas.
>>
>>78384427
I'm thinking of setting up a stream for the run up to New Years of horror musicals.
I think Elusive got tapped for Little Shop already, so I'm thinking about Repo, Rocky Horror, and Phantom of the Paradise.

And now I'm wondering too.
Time to track down French pup named Scooby Doo.

>>

Merry christmas
>>
>>78384489
I support that. People can still post wishlists once per thread, so giving can commence if people so choose, without the need of the pastebin.

>>78384493
You should include Little Shop anyway.
>>
>>78384588
Best of both worlds.
I'll see what I can do then. Aiming for just three, but if I have the time 4 movies is just as doable.

I'd like to explain why I love this comic so much. Some years ago, I was kind of like Fred at the beginning of this story; I didn't really feel as in tune with the festive mood as I normally was, and I couldn't figure out why. Then I read this comic, and realised that I could stop wasting the usual amount of money I'd waste on garbage nobody wanted/needed and give it to charity instead. This year is no exception, as my previous post ( >>78360207 ) can attest.

I know how you feel, that's how it is where I am too, Dave. It won't dampen my spirits either!

I had other comics planned, but we're close to image limit so I'll wait for the next thread.

This weather is disguising. And the mta is using this as an excuse for shit service. Still, I'mma sea good friend and star wars today, so it's all good.
>>
Posting's finally back.

So now that we've reached a 100% gifted and the first year(?) /co/ actually reached 100% gifted! I think Elusive should be the one to make the next thread if he's around and able to make it.

These Secret Santa threads probably wouldn't be the same without his continued efforts maintaining the lists and checking them twice way more than that.
>>
Just stopping by to say, this is such a nice little way of saying happy holidays to other anons. It's so nice, it always warms my heart when I see these threads. Maybe one day, when I'm not so paranoid, I'll partake in this. For now though, merry Christmas anons.
>>
>>78386371
It's just crazy
>>
>>78386375
Great idea.

>mta making excuses
Reminds me of the summer I spent riding DC transit and when our bus didn't come I called the station to ask and they told me they'd get back to me in 2 weeks

And we're back! Was getting worried for a minute there.

Got my bookcase built! Could've used one a bit bigger, but for the space I had available it's pretty much perfect. And it holds nearly all my books! My current /co/llection is rather small.

Spoilering this because it doesn't really matter...Sent something like 20 gifts, all were US except SDU's, free Prime shipping except SDU's which was around $11 shipping.
>>
Went with Corbeau's recommentation of Xsplit...it's set so even a dummy like me can use it.
>>
>>78384721

Here we go, had a chance to sit down and look at it.

8 anons gifted, 10 total items sent, 158 dollars spent, free Prime shipping for all of them
>>

All I want is some art posters man
>>
>>78384721
26.70 - 4 gifts.
Had to make the dollar count more this year.
Waiting to see if it becomes 5 for any stragglers that fall into my range.

>>78386793
Mad respect man
>>
>>78384721
$42.40, 4 gifts, all free Prime shipping.
>>
>>78384721
Wait, nope my bad, that was a 25.72.
Huh...I did way better than I thought I did in terms of thriftiness
>>
>>78386847

Hey I just got a full time this year, I'm not married, don't have kids, don't have student debt or medical bills or anything, and I wanted to help out some anons. I'm just happy you all put up with my shitty piano performances in these threads.
>>
>>78386943
I still Shazam was right about one of those being Jack Be Nimble
>>
>>78386943
>full time

Full time JOB I mean.
>>
>>78386833
You might have missed it but you already got gifted in a previous thread.
>>
That reminds me, I need to read through the various Starman trades I've picked up at cons for a decent price. I'll probably be a cheapskate and torrent all the other issues.
>>
>>78384721
12 gifts total. 10 US, 2 UK. Not quite enough to reach the Platinum Tier, but a good run. And I got to gift someone Daytripper, which is one of my favorite comics.

Only two contests this year but maybe next year I'll bring back the smaller contests.
>>
>>78386943
>full time job this year
Need to get me one of those still unemployed :(
>>
>>78387054
Whoops, that was me.
>>
So, who wants to see if I got the hang of streaming (and most likely fail) with a test run?

>>78387012
That's just the way of the wolf man.

>>78387062
Same here.

You are very welcome! Merry Christmas!
>>
>>78387326
We can always let the thread die and a new, Secret Santa-less, Christmas cheer thread rise from the ashes.

Of course I'm gonna have egg on my face if there's a list that was missed somewhere here and we aren't quite at 100%.

Time to endure 4.5 more hours of work before a glorious week and a half of holiday.
>>
>>78387466
If that happens I wonder who will step on the mine.
>>
>>78387375
I don't know what to pic for a new thread image, I think I may have used up everything I have already.

>>78387466
Hoping Elusive's back in time to make the thread, got one ready to post but no pic yet.
>>
>>78387514

Done.
