The two things he lost that night were his childhood and his family and now he gets to play real life action figure zorro adventures with a like minded support group.
Confronted with a horrible reality, he invented another.
Everything about Batman screams scripted, his lines, obsession with branding, theatrics. Its all a massive 8 year old's game writ large.
I dont think he's crazy, rather Batman is what he does so he doesn't go crazy. When you see the gruff grim avengers kayfabe start to slip away, its obvius Bruce fucking loves this shit.
