Yes I know but there's a limit to how much melodrama you can put in a series without losing my suspension of disbelief.
Why am I saying that? Well, while I think Mike dun goofed with his tone, his message to Lucy was correct but then the girl tries to kill herself and EVERYONE BLAMES MIKE FOR IT. This is INSANE.

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to see what will happen next. I just hope Mike man up and accepts that it's not the time to speak to Lucy.

desu if they both ignored each other for a year without the friends taking sides then realizing they miss each other a lot would be perfect but the chance of that happening is zero, not enough drama.

It's comics, I ain't gotta explain shit. I guess his improved regen without adamantium gave him an edge? Doesn't really make sense though as the adamantium should make his body much more durable as well as making his claws deadlier. Anyone else think Sabertooth should have been the last boss in Logan instead of the clone?

I hate how the writers forgot that Wolverine had dozens of powerups including improved mutation and ferality, after the apocalypse fight, Sabretooth never won a single fight past that.

let that simmer under the surface for a few years, add additional deaths of loved ones and a whole lot of fighting tooth and nail to stop bad guys,

then enter the clones. they embody all of that. he really isn't good enough because here's the new and improved peter parker. there's nothing special or unique about him because he's so easy to replicate you can just set up a production line. is there something wrong with your peter parker? just throw it away and get a new one.

That was when the writers made him literally insane for that extreme 90's flavor.He also acted as a jerk to prop up the clone, who would then be revealed as the real Peter. When that backfired the clone was retconned to be just that after all.

But yeah he's occasionally kind of a dick to his clones nowadays too. He kept saying "we have to save humans AND clones" during the Clone Conspiracy, and mostly mistreated Kaine for most of his existence.

Oversaturation, for one. There are too many Avengers titles, especially in the current biannual relaunch cycle, so they all suffer for it.

Market exhaustion for another. Too many books being relaunched and renumbered too quickly is catching up and causing some serious apathy. Not even a competent writer-artist team on a Squirrel Girl book can prevent that.

Nationalism for a third. Nobody outside the USA like it. Europeans are either indifferent or just snotty about it, although Euro sales figures usually don't matter. Canada and Mexico do though, and are basically filled with extremely nationalistic people whose current nation-state and borders exists as a result of America attacking them and trying to conquer them. So anything branded "patriotic" by an American company, even if it's tongue-in-cheek simply doesn't sell.

Put yourself in a local comic book shop owner's shoes. This book is the direct continuation of a book that was selling around 17-18k by its last issue.
Then Marvel comes to you and tells you to buy as many variants as you can, partly because the gimmick is likely to actually sell this time, partly because they have a way to force you by doing incentive variants, unlocking some if you order a certain number of them, and basing future possible variant orders by the sum you ordered on this one.
You then have to preorder a certain number of #2, before you even know how well the #1 sell. Wouldn't you try to cut your losses and order a similar quantity to how the previous volume was selling, considering that the team is made up of fucking nobodies and nothing indicates that sales would get up by a significant margin? If it miraculously becomes a sleeper hit and people order more than you can sell you can always ask for a reprint anyway.
