How does a character like Iron Man, who has only maybe had two, maybe three stories that where memorable in over 50 years, continue to be relavent and popular? Sure movie, tv and action figure has helped him remain popular in the general public, but why do comic book readers co time to support such a dull character?

I'm trying to get into transformers, but something that pisses me off a little is the fact that every transformer that has a shoulder cannon never uses it, there is any reason for that? I think the only time I saw a transformer actually using a shoulder cannon was Sideswipe in Transformers Devastation.

I've been a fan since the 90s and that's still a pet peeve of mine. There's no real reason for it, the 80s cartoon writers and/or storyboarders being lazy I can understand, but I'm surprised you don't see it more in modern G1 media.

right now yes, mainly because DC supports Suicide Squad, while Marvel has not supported X-Men half a decade because they are petty and angry about movie right issues.
Marvel threw the X-Men under the bus.
So they used the X-Men to make the Avengers and Inhumans more popular in vs events, and gave the X-Men very shitty depressing storylines with terrible or barely decent creative teams, and no merchandising, cartoons or videogames.
in spite of that your post isnt accurate because the X-Men can easily support a shitload of simultaneous books. So they end up selling a lot more floppies than Suicide Squad.
X Men isnt a single book, they are comparable to Batman in "universe size" being bigger for much of the last 3 decades.
Now Marvel will give the X-Men a "Ressurection" and we will have X Men Gold, X Men Blue, Astonishing X Men, Generation X, Weapon X, Cable, Jean Grey, Iceman, Old Man Logan, New Wolverine (Laura) ongoings.
And Deadpool is/was a part of the X Men family. So that would make the family of X Books even bigger.
And Fox has succeeded at making good movies (although they also have mediocre ones and absolute stinkers). They must feel quite happy with Deadpool and Logan in spite of no make up Oscar.
