Well, the Warners don't age. They were literally designed as a teenager and his two younger siblings in an animation studio and came to life as eternal chaos children too zany for anybody to control.

They even made a point of this in Tiny Toons that "toons"-- anthro/WB/Disney/Roger Rabbit characters made using the Golden age of animation definition of a cartoon character-- don't age (at the time, Bugs Bunny was over 50 and blah blah blah "laughter keeps a toon young" etc. etc.) This is just a trait of shows that actually don't have a timeline; the characters don't age, regardless if they are anthro or not.

Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes is an eternal six year old. The Kids in Avatar grew up, had children, passed on their knowledge and some of them died. Lincoln Loud and his family aren't actually growing up during the Loud House show because contextually the narrative is just about episodic humor. Futurama, on the other hand, does sort of have their characters age (but also had a Fountain of Youth Episode that arguably left them slightly younger again) but the Simpsons are eternally locked into their ages no matter how much time actually passes.

I think out of all of these, the Simpsons is the only time where this actually hurts things because inspite of being locked into their ages, there's continuity that the zombie seasons are now having to retcon again and again. If the show keeps going, sooner or later Homer and Marge are going to be written as Millennials.

I just feel like age shouldn't even be mentioned in cartoons without timelines, at least if they're not human. Otherwise it's fine. But why do I need to know that Spongebob is 13, sandy is 26, and Patrick is 21 (assuming they didn't age since the creation of the show in 1999)? It adds a scrap of reality to a fantastical setting, and makes me think of the characters within the scope of their age. This is fine with human characters, since you apply logic to their age. Bart Simpson is 10 and lives with his parents while attending elementary school. Spongebob is 13, owns a house, has a job, and spends his free time with characters in their 20s. There's a dissonance there that makes me wonder why these characters aren't acting their age. Why even give them an age then?

People still like Superman. The $128 million opening weekend for Man of Steel proved that. It just was a divisive film unfortunately.

Superman hasn't had a good film in almost 4 decades. Whereas Batman has had a lot of good films, tv shows and games, because he's easier to write for. Once WB stops dicking around and gets the right person to make a Superman movie, things will get much better.

It's similar to Eternity from Marvel, and the real-life idea of God being an omnipresence or embodiment of the universe.

In the comic it represents the universe itself, but also in the meta sense of the universe in comics appearing to us as a page.
