its not that same as yours, or the next, or the one after that. Who provides a reasonable enforcement of those rules? Airsoft is a hobby you do with friends, much like a LARP. Its a game for sure, not a sport.

Besides the high price (but really, how much more would it be?), what are the drawbacks to owning a GBB rifle?
>>
>>755193
More maintenance, most mags have 1/3 the capacity as the average midcap, firing too fast or on full auto can cause cooldown and decrease performance momentarily, parts tend to wear out faster than AEGs, and buying gas is an extra expense.

>>755193
You're going to be paying lods more ($30-60 per mag versus $5-10) for mags, magazines have a capacity of ~30 rounds and are a pain to reload in the field, have to deal with mechanical issues and wear, maintenance frequency is on par with actual firearms (Could be good or bad, take it how you want to), not as effective in winter weather and more Northern areas (CO2 alleviates this problem, but is more expensive), and magazines cooling down from sustained fire can cause multiple things like a sluggish bolt or low FPS.

They're still fun as shit and in all honesty I prefer working on GBBs than I do AEGs.
>>
>>755198
Also keep in mind that not every GBB will have these problems, or will have them in different magnitudes.

My M14 can dump a fully charged magazine's worth of gas before any noticeable cool down effects, but it's made by WE so every key part is cast pot metal instead of milled/forged steel.

Anybody seen good custom paintjobs on any LMGs?
I've got an oldschool M60 (mostly steel construction) and the shitty paintjob is flaking. Gonna strip all of the metal parts and use a rust resistant paint.

Could use some help. Looking into getting a cheap chest rig/vest here in Europe. Which one of these two would you go for?

http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152207731-Chest-Rig-Strike-Tactical-Vest-Black.html

I'm using a CYMA cm045a (an AKS 74u) but I really have no problem with one vest being able to hold more AK mags than the other.
Also since I only use a MARPAT uniform at the moment, should I go for black or OD color, keeping in mind that any other pouches and belt will also be in that color.

The foam around the frame (As in, not what's against your face but the strip that goes around the top, bottom, and sides) is closed cell instead of open cell to keep debris out while travelling in a vehicle. At worst it'll make them fog up a bit more but can always be removed.

The same AK, G&G AK104
Purchased October 13 2013, the gun has just recently hit it's two year mark

Between those two images there's been a lot of work, aside from clear external wear and modification the gun has undergone a ton of internal upgrades

>nukefet
>SHS aluminum o-ring nozzle
>Aluminum double o-ring cylinder head (and cylinderhead teflon mod)
>SHS 13:1 gears
>SHS aluminum sector gear delayer chip
>Shimming
>AOE
>nice big donger battery, as mentioned in other post 11.1 30c 5000mAh
>Frankentorque 32TPA (chaoli armature and ZCI ht neo motor can)

and I'll do the r-hop sometime next week, I wss putting off getting the silicone foam for the flat hop until just recent then left it in a friend's apartment.

With this set up I get instant crisp trigger response and my rps is around 25, before the frankentorque I was getting double shoting on semi and roflrps definitely above 30 and not enough to keep up with my cheap CYMA magazines.

Mine must just be old, I never leave rounds in them but I basically never clean them, maybe only twice since I got them at the start of 2014.
I've been to a few big games where I would have them loaded for hours without use and lots of smaller games where they're basically just being dumped and refilled every hour.

It could also be my hop up, I'm using a stock G&G metal one, anything special with your hop up? (by the way I'd really only start getting hiccups near the end of the magazine, in the last 30 rounds or so)
>>
>>757857
Well that sounds lots like your magazines dying. I bought mine late in last year and I got other guns to play with as well so maybe you've just used them more. You could try stretching the springs and cleaning the grooves in them, but that's usually just a temporary solution. I wouldn't lube the magazines though. Changing your hop up chamber probably isn't going to change much.
>>

Thanks, I might look in to it. I'm pretty much fine with feeding now though, and I think I'll be primarily moving in to a semi-only play style soon anyway.
Why would you be opposed to lubing them? The process I used was spraying some silicone spray where the bbs come out/are inserted then filling the magazine will old .12 grams a couple of times then discarding the .12's.

Aside from the r-hop, I'd like to eventually shorten my trigger pull but it seems like an expensive or very skilled process depending on which route you go down to do it.

About to purchase KJ Works CO2 pistol from eHobbyAsia from clearance. How reputable is the KJ Works as a maker? Also, some KJW guns take both CO2 and Gas mags so does this mean it's okay to shoot with both gasses as long as you keep the gun clean and inners lubricated/maintened?

I wouldn't ever get an APS pistol, but both of the KJW pistols are solid. The KP-05 is a hi-capa with TM compatibility and the P-09 is apparently very popular in Europe and has aftermarket parts out for it as well. Just be mindful about getting it grimey and dirty.

Avoid APS. They have some successful AEG products, but I've not seen any good pistols out of them.
>>
>>758187
Thanks.
>>
One more thing, is the CO2/Gas combo pistols how new thing exactly? Started seeing them more and more recently, and the KP-05 i'm pondering is that of a kind. Thanks for answers.
>>
>>758197
Pretty much only KJW has made them of any quality, but they've been making them for a good while. WE used to make CO2 glock mags, but they would blow up their guns. The KP-05 will take pretty much every hi-capa mag out there.
>>
>>756962
quite well actually, id go for it if i were you. its cheap and you can carry a fuckton of mp5 mags.
>>

If you are getting a KJW Co2 pistol just remember to keep the seals well lubed, as they dry out quick and under put under far greater stress than their green gas counterparts.

I want to use a computerised MOSFET but I don't know which one. I'm running a pretty typical G&G M4. What are the current suggestions?

I'll mostly want it for LiPO voltage detection, short protection, and a better trigger response.

I'd rather want one that fits entirely in the gearbox but I would have space in the buffer tube for one with an external module.
>>
>>758771
Yes they don't cost as much as EdGI or ORGA barrels, but still perform very well. I personally wouldn't buy a 100$ barrel for AEG.

You should first buy 10:1 or 12:1 gear set and a Frankentorque motor though. Those two are going give you a lot better trigger response. With Frankentorque motor, you don't really need to worry about draining your battery dry either.

The difference is the U-18000 is about £65 delivered and the P&J is about £25 delivered. Is the U-18000 really worth over double the P&J?

I'm not looking for a ricer tier gun, just something better than stock and suitable for a computerised mosfet.
>>
>>758997
Anon what the fuck. You're buying a 100$ mosfet but 55$ motor is too expensive?
P&J is chinese manufacturer. They don't have proper QC, so you may or may not get a good motor. From my own experience, they have neomagnets and very high torque. The magnets might not be shimmed as well as with the ASG motor. The armature most likely isn't balanced as well as the ASG and the armature may wobble a bit. Two out of three you can fix yourself, but the ASG is still a little bit better. It's not twice as good, but it's definitely the easier solution.

>I'm not looking for a ricer tier gun
>I want to use a computerised MOSFET
These two don't really fit well together.
>>
>>759035
Shit adds up, if there was a cheaper computerised MOSFET that didn't catch fire I'd go for that.

>>
>>759057
It's great, but not worth of becoming a primary. If you're buying it for a secondary you're laughing. The RoF is too high for a primary and you can discharge a mag on a warm day in around 1 second.

I think it might have been a pistol that slipped through the cracks of QC. The mag release basically fell out of my gun on the second reload, and the slide stuck a little out of the box. Seems like it's fixed now, when I disassembled it to put the release back in I guess I accidentally solved the sticking.

It's Marui based instead of VFC. so it's going to be out of spec when compared to the real one and upgrades can be a pain. The stocks are also prone to breaking.

I would personally spend the extra $40 and get the CM040C which is easier to upgrade, has a stamped steel body, and has a stronger stock trunion.

>>
>>759145
You read nothing about the whole real steel compatibility, 1:1 size and weight and other features, right?
>>
>>759147
their page said something about real steal compatibility, which I guess is more or less the same as 1:1 size. Real steal compatibility isn't anything special for airsoft. Weight is no big whoop either as there's plenty of airsoft replicas with more or less the same weigth as their real steal counterparts. I don't know about other features, please tell me.

Also 1:1 size and weight, weight loaded or unloaded? A full real steal magazine adds more weight that an airsoft one.
>>
>>759147
also, real steal compatibility for pistol grips as well? I'd be surprised a real steal ar 15 grip will fit on a systema ptw
>>
>>759150
It's not "more or less". It's exactly 1:1 in size. Official Systema PTW mags are made so they weight the same as a loaded mag.
Real steel compatibility sure is special. Try fitting anything real steel on a regular AEG without doing some modding before.

>>759153
No, real steel grips won't fit for obvious reasons but they're the exact same size. AEG grips feel humongous after using a PTW for a while
>>
>>759132
>>759142
>>759145
>>759147
>>759150
>>759153
>>759156
I'll also take the bait and play:
Their resale value is really good. If you buy a Systema PTW you can probably sell it knocking off about 15% of its price, for AEG you have to lower 50% from its retail price to sell most of the time
>>
>>759156
okay so not whole real steel compatibility.

So full magazines weigh the same as empty ones?
>>
>>759137
What rubber?
>>
>>758102
Not one with a carbine length barrel. ICS are good, but unless there happens to be a way to shorten the outer barrel without mauling it off, CYMA and King Arms are my only options.
>>
>>759057
fuck that shit nigger. I have a KSC mp9 and rock it as a primary with 5 mags. it's really really really fucking neat-o.

>>759059
it's so easy to 3-5 shot burst with it though. Use heavy (.3g+) bb's with the extendo barrel and suppressor and you can just rape outdoors as well.

full auto actually eats those gay little springs on the nozzle up though. you'll have to replace them fairly regularly if you enjoy auto, but they're cheap.

>>759121
do it. DO IT. I have never used a GBB as fucking fun as this. it's LOUD AS FUCK, has excellent (50+) bb capacity for the mags, the gas system is fantastic, the mags hold tons of gas...etc.

buy used though. mags up here in canada are like fuckin $75 each. i bought a package of the gun/5 mags/extended barrel/two bcg's/mock suppressor/4 fastmag pouches for $350 and some shit in trade off the local used gear forum.

I do admit, though, for aftermarket shit the mp7 wins. All the seal impression kiddos fuel the market for it versus the mp9. I just hate the mp7 ergos and appearance, and the rof is very significantly lower than the mp9.

>>759132
a bunch of retarded features that people think they should have on a non-recoil replica rifle. you can easily build a gun with better range/rof/trigger response/internal lifetime/externals/etc for literally 1/4 the price of a bone stock PTW.

if you want all of MUH REALISM shit a GBBr (or daytona gun) is the way to go.

If you want to err on the sensible/utility side, it's not a bad idea to get multiple upper receiver/hopup/barrel combos for your m4.

If you have the tools/savoir faire, you can overvolume the piss out of your short barrels for cqb in order to meet field FPS limits. My stubby barrel is 375fps but the gun shoots 430fps on a 363mm standard m4 barrel. Note this doesn't work if they chrono for joules using .36g or so, as it will show the joule creep. Just don't use heavy BBs in cqb and it's functionally the same.

after a while you get bored though of utility-based m4s. that's why i got my little dakka blaster.

I can't believe how good this Fakepul sling is. I got it from some Chinese airsoft site for the equivalent of £5 + postage and it's amazing.

None of the buckles or clasps have broken and the webbing is weirdly smooth and soft meaning it really doesn't snag on anything like a chest carrier, it does mean that sometimes it likes to readjust itself but I've been mostly able to overlook this.

Pretty much use this sling and nothing else now.

Have you been to ricochet tactical on Levittown? They have a great rule about banning hpa systems in cqb. I wanna drop by before the end of the month.

Negative, I stopped playing locally before they opened, still looks very speedsofty to me.

I'm an OLD School (+10 Years) player, I'm still used to the old Coram 4ish hour games. So game that lasts under an hour feels shit to me.

Last time I went up to Zulu24 I barely had time to scout and flank before the bullshit minigame was over.

Yeah, you're such a serious player that you don't go playing every weekend, and only put on your gear every once in a while to take a quick pic and let it collect dust in the closet

Why would you ban all HPA systems? Why not just force them to use semi-auto only? A decent tech can make an AEG achieve similar trigger response and fire rate as HPA systems.

I've played at cousin's when I used to play paintball back when I was in middle school. Loved the half day scenario games. I got into airsoft about a year ago by playing at my 12 year old nephew's birthday party
>>760749
I dunno dude. I'm just looking for a place to play at, I don't really own a hpa system and to be honest I don't really care.

From what I understand, there's a stronger community over in New Jersey. I'm from that side of the Hudson, but I moved before I really got into airsoft. There's also stuff happening over on Long Island based on the guys who came in last week, but NYC pretty much a no-fly-zone. As long as you keep it in a car between the city and the field, whether you choose New Jersey or Long Island, you shouldn't have too much trouble.
