Do you guys think using inserts like the Esstac KWYI or the Haley MP2s will help?

MP2's will help a lot, altho I use a DC3R-H which helps a lot since pouches are wider for something like stanags.

I'm gonna try the thorough cleaning, silicone oil bath and grease everywhere else method, but I dread the fucking pins insertion part. Last time I fixed a leaky mag I'm not even sure how I managed to enter the baseplate and the pins at the same time.
Fuck pins. Should have sticked to Hi Capa, it has decent mags.
>>
>>2586097
Grease isn't going to fix that if your seals are shot.
>>
>>2586107
I assume seals are okay, if they're not, of course I'm not even trying to work around that, I'll go straight to ordering new ones, and hope they're not some shitty ones that were stored for 10 years. Mags are shitty and known for leaking, pretty much all KWA mags I know are, some TM too, all because of those fucking pins.
I'm getting it HPA tapped, but I still want to make sure they're not leaking, even though I won't use them as much.

I don't like plate carriers, and my LBE/pouches just need to carry my shit decently. I didnt want to skimp on footwear or knee pro since I want to be maximum comfy in my gear while moving around.

I'll probably end up buying some taco pouches or something once I have the money to spare but as it is I don't see the need to buy a $300 plate carrier or $30 pouches since I won't really be using them for their intended purpose.

In other words I only buy top dollar stuff if I'm getting my moneys worth out of it. I'll be using the kneepads and shoes to their full potential, whereas I wouldnt with a Crye JPC, if that makes sense.

Anyone have any experience with Gletcher? I'm interested in the APS and the Mp443 that they make, mostly because they're the only airsoft versions of those pistols I have found so far. If they are shit, are there any options out there for decent Russian pistols that aren't TTs or makarovs?
>>
>>2588500
I own the APS, its a fun gun. Not CQB legal in many cases but after the first 15-20 shots the FPS goes down to a respectable level.
>>
>>2588500
>that aren't TTs or makarovs
There are some CO2 Nagants, Glock 17s (used by UFSIN, GRU, FSB and special groups of MVD, Orsis company makes licensed copies), Cz75 (used by prosecutors and investigators, since 2011 is issued as a award weapon).
G18 may pass as Strike One

I've decided that underslung Grenade Launchers are a meme, unless I can afford TAG shells and justify it with games that would require me to carry enough of the crap CO2 shells eat up.
They're dead weight, even (or especially) as a last resort. The "groups of guys or guys behind a cover" scenarios just don't happen often enough to justify lugging all the crap around and I'm starting to appreciate having less weight on your shoulders and bouncing around in the MilSim/longer games. Lighter rifles are also a good thing, without a 2 kilo cumbersome piece of shit hanging in front of them.

I'm not selling my grenade launchers and shit just yet, I'll carry them on "no AEGs" games as my primary, 40mm pouches work well as flashbang pouches, so I guess that's that.

Opinions on KJW HI-CAPA? Just looking for a cheap reliable pistol with decent performance. Apparently you can use c02 and gas on them?
>>
>>2589398
KJW is pretty good. Not as expensive and performance heavy as Tokyo Marui but still very solid and come out of box fully metal, so you save yourself the external upgrade cost as well if you buy the factory TM. Also for a cheaper handgun they're far better quality than WE.
>>
>>2589398
Mine had it's firing-pin/knocker not properly align itself and hit the gasvalves on it's mags, took a bunch of fiddling to make it move and align itself properly when cycled, but it did so eventually.
>>
>>2589217
legit, the taggin grenades are cool, but arent worth bringing to regular pick ups.
they are alright for milsim, but the smoke grenades are EXTREMLY great for putting smoke at a distance while behind cover, the downside being that most events dont allow them with few exception.
One day, i will load six smoke taggin grenades into a revolving grenade launcher, and lay down enough smoke cover to move and entire team across the field. It will be done, des vult
>>
>>2589398
They're built better than WE guns and still take TM parts, so it's a pretty solid option.
>>
>>2589865
Different guy, but how easy is it to change the grip assembly? I kind of hate the aggressive texture on mine in combination with it's shape, and I'd like to get a smooth one.
>>

>>
>>2589727
Agreed, the grenade launcher experience is much better the more grenades you own, but it's an expensive experience.
I've got a GL-06 and I'm also very enthusiastic about smoke grenades.
I'm thinking of getting/building an airsoft vehicle one day and making a dedicated compartment for it, with a couple of TAG shells and smoke rounds ready to lay down some cover.
Pipe dream mostly, because games here barely call for anything more than sidearms and low-caps, but if I can afford to travel to different countries just to play BBWARZ, maybe one day it will be a legit good idea.

Madbull nades I'll probably stuff with paintballs and use some low psi for giggles. I'm still tempted to get the AGX for my F2000 because it would be my dream gun then (kinda). I'll see if it comes back in stock. It looked ridiculous with a M203 and those XM203 launchers, and S-Thunder Pistol GL is impossible to load with limited back space like F2K rails have.

I sometimes have a banzai headband that I'll wrap around my helmet. I'll also attach stupid stuff to my guns and use them like that or I try doing a wildcard. Since I live next to lejeune, marines are a common sight here- and where there are marines, there's marine creativity and boredom. I've seen a guy in a charzard onesie and a LMG. I've seen a guy use a SWAT kit with only an oversized fly swatter as his weapon. I've also seen a marine in only his boxers use an oversized dildo as a melee weapon. How cheap is too cheap when buying glass?

I'd like a short dot type sight, but dont really want to spend 400$ on vortex.
>>
>>2604091

just get one of those 50 dollar reflex sights. the downside to shitty optics is holding a zero after repeated fire but with airsoft guns you really don't have to worry about recoil jostling the scope around.
>>
>>2604091
Airsoft guns are very inaccurate, the range isn't tha great and there's no recoil, so it doesn't really matter whether you have high quality optic or cheap chink one.

>t. I have never a shot a real gun

I'm most likely the best tech in this shitty general, considering I'm pretty much the only one giving any tech advice.
Airsoft guns are inaccurate. The maximum effective range on an AEG that's upgraded well is about 60 metres, something everyone should be able to handle easily with irons. Sadly most guns aren't upgraded or it's done poorly. Even expensive BASRs can reliably hit only a 80m target on the first shot. In the military, we rarely shot anything closer than 100m and if we did, they were usually moving targets. Do you really need a scope that costs as much or maybe even more than your gun for a range that even the most retarded and unmotivated backwardass rednecks can hit with irons? Chink optics work just fine for airsoft.

Maybe if he had a DaytonaGun or Tippmman like that one rich anon who bought a real Acog, you might have had a point.
>>
>>2604940
those are ugly. I mean the tech in them is cool but I couldn't see paying that much and wearing that crap if it wasn't going to save my lfie
>>
>>2605328
I understand your reasoning, but comfortable eye relief and clear glass is the difference between a usable optic and a useless tube on the top of your gun getting in the way of your ironsights.

That said, there are plenty of short dots out there for under $300 that have comfortable eye relief and clear enough glass, and they'll take firearm recoil pretty well.

The biggest reason for buying real gear is that you'll generally get a lifetime, and sometimes even no questions asked, warranty. So if the crotch blows out on your G3s, you can call up Crye and get a replacement pair and just pay postage; If your Semapos or Emersons blow out then you're fucked and you need to buy a new pair. That was my reasoning for buying a Banshee back when they were still $115 new, since no other plate carrier in the price range had a lifetime warranty or a no questions asked replacement policy.

And then you have stuff like Russian gear where there's no warranty whatsoever, and you're only getting that real Avizent Defender 2 for $500 because you want to join the circlejerks in COM and Alfa, when you could get a spot on repro for under $120.

The difference is that if you get that real Avi D2 into the country with armor for $500, you can resell it for $700 or even higher to the right buyer. And because it's a Fort carrier, that shit will tank through literally anything.

Meanwhile, that "spot on" repro will fall apart eventually, may not correctly hold real weight plates and kevlar, and in general not hold any of its value.

>>
>>2605328
I've had scopes that cost less than $50 that had awesome eye relief and were clear as day.
>>
>>2605362
At Airsoft ranges during the daylight my 50€ scope doesn't have problems seeing the target or the bb flight path. Maybe it's not the best scope during the dark or evenings, but the scene isn't big enough here for anyone even to bother organize night games as we had only a single one during the last summer. I don't see any problems with the eye relief either when I can pretty much instantly use the scope when I shoulder the gun. I can't really justify myself to pay much more, when the guns don't have anywhere near the range or accuracy to use even the cheap optics to their full potential. I've literally encountered zero problems with cheap. Why bother? I've got better things to do with my money.

in highcap mags, is there a specific amount of bbs you can load into them that aren't going to be rattling around? maybe im simply confused about how these things work. i ended up getting 6 highcap mags before realizing they made lowcap makes that work off of a single spring instead of this crank business and i really dont want to have to return all these and end up paying MORE money for lower capacity mags.
>>
>>2611856
Buy midcaps and practice reloads with the hicaps.
Nothing is more fun that mag flipping a hicap across the room, out the window, onto the driveway, and it shattering into plastic bits while looking T A C T I C A L.

Opinions on this lever action? Looking for a second gun to use every now and again when I get bored of using my main. I play backyard games with about 10 people so it's not like I'd be doing tacticool crazy shit.
>>
I have two questions:

1. How the fuck am I supposed to take off the lower handguard off a Kalash AKS74U? I read the manual and followed the steps but metal assembly won't budge unless I use something like a screwdriver, did the wood get warped by ambient moisture? If that is the case, what would be the best way to make it shrink enough to allow me to remove it?

2. which manufacturer makes a good but affordable G3KA4 AEG?
>>
>>2584913
What kind of elbow and kneepads are out there? Looking for something durable that can take heavy abuse and is suitable for long hours in hot climates.
>>
>>2611856
Load up an hicap, crank the fucking thing, empty the main tank, then empty the stack in a bag and count how many BBs are there (they should be about 28/32). Then slap yourself in the face for having bought something without having informed yourself.

>>2612053
One of my friend's hicaps got clogged with the vegetable lubricant shit chinks love so much, during a match. It dried up and formed a ball bigger than a BB, he cleared it by loading it with BBs then winding it up until the blob got moved to the feeding stack then he pried it out with a screwdriver.

Are they really that bad? Worst comes to worst if I buy one and it breaks I'd try to either fix it by welding or use an M4 stock.

>mg42 are proprietary as fuck
Would you rather not have it at all or have to shell out 3 grand for a CO2 Tanaka/Shoei?

And again, what's wrong with MP40s? The only complaint I heard years ago was that they could only take shit batteries which is a moot point given that lipos exist.

Any trick for getting new hicaps to feed better? I turn it until it sounds right, but it only fires half of what I expect and doesn't seem to be drawing bbs into the spring properly

>>

Proper hi-caps require you to wind the fuck out of the magazine until the spring is under enough tension to feed the whole mag. That's why TM based ones have that little key.
>>
>>2612572
Unless you're going to be shooting TAGs, it's just going to be mainly for show so go for it.
>>
>>2612598
Can't answer your first question, but to the second:

G3KA4s are pretty difficult to find, I'm not sure if anyone currently produces one...
Some of the manufacturers would be TM, CA, and I think someone else...
>>
>>2612115
>>2612617
JG is your only bet for a A4, and even then it's not a K. I guess you could chop down the barrels and then epoxy the flash hider onto the outer barrel.
http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/14184-jg-t3-a4-full-size-sg1-airsoft-aeg-rifle-with-integrated-bipod.aspx

You COULD also get a second hand Classic Army G3A4 (or get a full stock model and then source a JG or Marui A4 stock), but you'd be looking for a long time since no one wants to sell their CA G3, and the A4 stocks were rarely bought and are always out of stock.
>>
>>2612630
I gave up on trying to find a K, too much hassle and not really any benefit, aside from looking cool as fuck
>>
>>2612617
>>2612630
Well fuck me. How are JG internals?

Also why aren't G3s with collapsing stocks more common? Shouldn't they have been immensely popular thanks to SAS, also due to the fact that they actually used those? Instead all the rage seems to be about those stockless abominations that have handguards with rails, not even the MC51.
>>
>>2612644
I don't really know, but it may have to do with MP5 style stocks being kind of weak and wobbly.
>>
>>2612644
Out of the box, decent-ish, nothing to write home about. Mine's only stock, except flash hider, b/c parts are not as plentiful as say an AR or AK
>>
>>2612645
Speaking of which, are MP5 and G3 stocks interchangeable or am I completely shit out of luck?

>>2612647
Which chinkshit brand are they the closest to quality wise, Dboys? Also not that I'd add much if any stuff to mine if I were to buy one. The only thing I'd consider is a barrel mounted laser and maybe the HK79 but as far as I know nobody makes those.
>>
>>2612654
It's weird, JGs are just TM clones, but they are less finicky and about as reliable as them. JG is one of the better clone manufacturers out there
>>

>>
>>2612654
JG is a lot like CYMA.

>>2612660
They're good when compared to brands like A&K; but they only clone instead of improve, so whatever issue is on a TM will be replicated in a JG.
>>
>>2612660
>>2612665
That's weird, I heard a lot of conflicting opinions about JG, I asked about their internals because I heard they were of poor quality.

lolnope. I've got one MG42 in a queue to be repaired. All the moving parts are standard V2/3 parts. Oh wow, the hop chamber and the split gearbox shell look weird. How horrible! How can anyone ever make that thing work!

I bet you're one of those retards who think Krytacs an ICS' are proprietrary as fuck and impossible to upgrade too.
>>
>>2612833
There's no market for high performance WW2 guns. There's very little market for WW2 guns that have expensive externals. The people who are devoted enough for the hobby to buy niche guns upgrade them anyway, so why bother? Products don't need to be perfect. Product often needs to be only good enough. If everyone had your attitude, no one would buy any airsoft guns as most of them have utter shit for internals and the rest of them are expensive and mediocre at best.
>>
>>2612946
>There's no market for high performance WW2 guns

G3 pro coming through.

>>2612115
CA makes G3KA4s, and they can be these days ordered from them directly. Otherwise, you're shit out of luck: to make one, you need to match a G3 receiver with a HK33 cocking tube, and an MC51 outer barrel assembly. Only metal G3s and HK33s around are CA ones, and HK33s were ultra-rare. Not to mention all CA G3s were unobtainium for a long time, until CA set up their own store site.

>>2612630
Nope, G3KA4 is not only a G3A4 with a shorter barrel, but also with a shorter forend. Besides, you don't need to make a ghetto solution to get the short barrel part down: MC51 outer barrel assemblies are made by about a hundred manufcaturers.

>>2612642
Just order one direct from Classic Army m8.

>>2612644
It's that G3s in general are not very popular, and as such, do not sell very well. As a result, it's much more profitable for brands to simply make ARs, AKs, and MP5s, though even MP5s are getting uncommon now. There's also that JG and CA G3s are direct clones of the Marui one, and as such, share it's design's weaknesses.

>>2612645
The G3 stock is less wobbly, as the issue is not in the stock itself, but the end cap - the stock is not secured against the gun for a long enough distance to make it 100% not-wobbly, though it is 100% functional.

>>2612654
MP5 and G3 stocks are interchangeable afaik (haven't tested), but the endcap design is different. Mating a MP5 stock to a G3 endcap should be theoretically feasible, as both guns are stock-wise 100% identical in measurements.

>>2612966
lol no

The JG G3 is plastic. The externals are literally worth nothing - I doubt most people would even take them for free, excluding chronic hoarders.

Picture related, muh battle carbine.

>>2612999
>CA makes G3KA4s, and they can be these days ordered from them directly

In that case, would buying a G3 SAS long barrel version and swap the shitty RAS with an MC51 forend net the same result?

>though even MP5s are getting uncommon now

CA ships globally.

>In that case, would buying a G3 SAS long barrel version and swap the shitty RAS with an MC51 forend net the same result?
I have no idea what you are trying to say. But no, it would not. A G3KA4 is a G3 with a HK33 forend, and the barrel chopped down to end right after said forend. The fictional G3 SAS is a G3 with a MP5K forend. And the MC51 is a G3 with a MP5 forend. G3KA4 is longer than either of those. And besides, the thing we are speaking of is the outer barrel assembly - i.e. the part in airsoft that protrudes past the forend - the outer barrel that sheathes the inner barrel does not extend within the handguard, as that part is not normally visible, and as such, does not need to be 1:1.

>Let me guess, you're merican and now everyone wants a shitty M4 stubby or a tacticool AK or something along those lines?
I'm an Euro, but really, MP5s have started to get rarer and rare over time.

>>2613089
JG G3s are dirt cheap and available everywhere. They are not rare, and even if they were, they'd still be worth nothing, due to the plastic externals. You can get one from Evike for 120$.
>>
