Alright, SMUG squad leader, this is my report on Caspian Gap

As a part of a large militia unit attached to the defending regular Russian forces, including a platoon of FSB and VDV respectively, our tasking was to slow despicable NATO forces before they could reach our fair city of Astrakhan, and then if we were overrun, to fall back deeper into the city and hold defensive positions there until reinforcements could reach us (ENDEX).

Overall, SMUG proved a very capable squad, gaining notoriety from superiors as motivated, willing, and capable. They took to our taskings extremely well and performed valorously under fire. When orders and directions were available, they move into position effectively, and when cut off they all performed superbly independently. This was particularly apparent the first night where I took first contact on our ambush and was unfortunately overrun early. The remaining members of the squad regrouped and harassed NATO forces, slowing them down considerably in the dark.

Aside from a couple of sleeping beauties (including a particularly hilarious incident where one of our number walked away from his post early Sunday morning and fell asleep in the Platoon Leader's bed), I can't think of any complaints of SMUG squad. We lost one to a legitimate medical reason, but that will hopefully be corrected for the next planned trip.

The greatest disappointment was NATO. The only way they were able to overcome defensive positions held by relatively scant few was to overrun them with overwhelming force. It took two platoons to overrun our original CCP ultimately held by less than three squads on Saturday afternoon. We took out more than half of their number in defending our home. There was no attempt to use blank fire to cover their oft-repelled human waves, depending instead on smoke grenades which did poor work of concealing silhouettes.

Overall, 11/10, would get my human rights violated again.

Basically a reinactment of the 1070 apartment siege that's still ongoing (as far as I know)

What are your preferred pair of gloves, /asg/?

Ever since I picked up the original black and whites one or two years ago, I've been hooked on Mechanix.

Durable, breathable, easily to, for a lack of a better word, " operate " in, and they fit incredibly well.

I used to have a pair of black and red MPACTS but I realized they were fake once they came in the mail, so I gave them to a friend.

I'm working on a similar kit (M81 here), and wanted to ask what you think of the Manzella USMC TS-40 gloves of the same era. I use these gloves instead of the GI flight gloves and I love them, but I've been wondering more and more as to whether the flight gloves could take as much of a beating as the TS-40. When I look at the flight gloves, I worry that the leather will be completely destroyed by the amount of nicks, cuts, and pokes of, say, a woodland area.

The suppressor weighs a fair bit on its own, so it's definitely front heavy. The GP has it's uses, shooting inside windows and shit from a distance or lobbing out of cover, 36rounds per shell i think. Doesn't add much weight and i kinda like the grip personally

Leather is a pretty durable material, and the nomex isn't bad either.
The T-40s look warmer and I have a feeling they will snag on things like branches and vegetation since they're knit.

I use them, and I will say they do snag, and they are a bit open between the weaves, but I had a pair of those flight gloves in desert (still do), but they got absolutely annihilated after I used them. I'll see about taking them out and taking a picture, but the leather has all sorts of cuts in them, and abrasions all over it too.

I used to have a tan pair which I regret cutting the fingers off of. They're comphy and reliable but I got sick of staring at the plastic knuckles knowing the real ones are carbon fiber. I probably still have them laying around in a bag or something.

Didn't want to spend 60$ on them though. That's when I settled for the original mechanix.

If you're REALLY ambitious, you could always make a kit yourself for a KWA/KSC (or WELL) M11. It would require access to a CNC machine and some level of proficiency in a CAD program, but it would be doable for the collector that just has to have one.
