shit guys can you help me troubleshoot my airsoft, im new to this hobby.
I got my first gun yesterday a G&G cm16 mod0
9.6v 1600mah battery valken charger
I charged my battery for 3hrs and then tested my gun first few shots were ok then the gun stopped working and the pistol grip (where the motor is) felt hot
doing research, i found out it may be my anti reversal latch but once i moved the motor around it worked nicely. THe next day i went to shot and it was god for 5mins. I shot in semi and full auto. there were some hiccups like semi skipping a shot and then firing 2 at the same time. also accuracy was bad and im pretty sure rate of fire was low. So i through this is the motor or battery thats bad. The gun stopped shooting just like the day before, so i poped it open and lixed he reversal latch (i think i heard a pop) bu that didnt fix shit. so i took out the motor and tried to see if it spins, it didnt. I charged the battery again and retried the motor and it spun this time.
So my conclusion is that the battery drains way to quick or the motor is just bad and weak.
Also one more important thing. The charger lights up green after 10m of charging the batery but if i unplug it and plug it back in that charger shows that its red and recharges it for 10m. the battery makes a small clicking sound when charging.
wtf is the issue, battery, charger, gearbox, or motor???

I have worked at a field and a store before, as well as running a few small local events, so I have experienced the retardation first hand.

Note: from a Leaf's perspective
Airsoft went from a close-knit honourable sport to glorified paintball. The number of skilled, honourable players have completely tanked in recent years due to a mix of age, and a lack of decent events.

Airsoft used to be fairly expensive to get into, and that kept a lot of the mouth breathers away, but now with so much gear+guns being so cheap it's getting swarmed by kids that don't listen, don't call their hits, and have a shit attitude. There is no accountability for being a shit player or a shit person anymore, and many of the experienced players have opted to host and go to private games instead, and completely avoid their local games.

This has caused a void of decent role models, so a lot of new players take the attitude of the assholes who think they're decent players because they frag and overshoot the renters every weekend. None of them go to any large games, and when they do either sleep through half of it, or straight up leave after they get destroyed from the players who actually practice, and because of that have a disdain for anyone who takes the game more seriously then they do.

On the other hand, you have a bunch of teams and players who look down, and shit talk "casual" players at any chance they get because they cant afford ___, or didn't play at ___. This elitism turns off anyone who wants to get into the milsim croud, and gives them a bad name.

I may just be talking out my ass, but watching the sport develop from a close community to a bunch of arrogant speedsofters and elitists, to me, is watching it die. The quality of the player and their attitude is going downhill, and the sport with it.

First of all, STOP CHARGING IT.

You charged it for 3 fucking hours, what did you expect?

It's ruined now, you literally can't use it. Charging it even more like that will make it bloat, and eventually catch fire.

You ruined your battery, do not use it. Dear dispose of it properly, they can actually explode into a firey mess.

Next, use a 7.4v battery so you don't kill your trigger contacts.

Also, you need to fix your motor height.

Too far in will make it jam and not work, too far down will make it slip or not do anything at all. It needs to be in a sweet spot.

I think it's down to local conditions.

The establishment of a decent site can totally transform airsoft in an area. I count myself lucky in this respect that there are two really well run sites within 40mins drive from where I live, but I recognise that isn't the case everywhere.

Green gas is a fairly low pressure gas and wouldn't have the ability to explode that violently right out of the box. He would have to let it sit in the sun on a hot Summer day, and then just start wailing on it to compromise the magazine, and even then it'd probably just hiss since 1911 mags are pretty slim and don't hold much gas.
