I think making the weapons consumable is a lazy approach anon, sounds like your trying to just make it work with the system you already have going, --instead of changing the system to accommodate weapons. The player could just as easily have a reserved weapon slot instead of quick use items on the bottom.

Dungeon crawlers are all about item acquisition, you could have an underwear slot for your chastity(defense bonus) lace panties ( lust bonus)
