It's nice to see her long lace-up boots gently stepped onto the decayed leaves floating on the water surface. That one moment. That one second. That one picture. The scene as clear as a photography was engraved into memory. A girl with a swinging umbrella and a fluttering skirt, stepping onto the surface of a lake. Just like a sorceress.

Would we ever see her again, when the leaves that fall in autumn gather together on the water surface? Kyoani please.

>Apparently it's a mixed bag
That's being generous.

The novel is garbage.

>Not even while being a machine girl can she be left with wet clothes. As a change of clothes was necessary, she lay a bathrobe around her supposedly perfect body and headed for the bathroom. It had been a while since anyone other than Oscar regularly used it, so in a lapse of memory, he entered it without knocking and ended up seeing her while she was had not changed yet.

>“Ah, I’m sor… ry… eh?”

>He swallowed his breath due to perplexity.

>“EEEH?!”

>What was reflected in Oscar’s eyes was a sight more bewitchingly beautiful than any naked woman. Dripping golden hair. Beautiful blue orbs of a dimension that would not soften even within a painting. The finely-shaped lips just below them. A flesh body with a slender neck, an outstanding collarbone, plump breasts, and feminine curves.

>Her artificial arms consisted of metal rings from the shoulders to the fingertips. But it was only them. Despite the many scratches, other than the arms, the rest was surprisingly real skin. With that delicate body, she did not seem at all like a mechanical doll, but a relatively normal human being.

>With everything he had believed in until then being mantled over by the shocking revelation, Oscar tried to confirm what he was seeing many times.

>“Master.” Violet called with a voice that seemed to be judging him as he continued to ogle in astonishment.

>“UAAAAAAH! UAAAAAH! UAAAAAHAAAAAH!”

>Part of the outcome of that incident was Oscar’s screaming. The other was him half-crying while going beet-red, after having yelled on top of his lungs, frantically inquiring, “Are you human, after all?!”

>Wrapping a towel around herself, Violet plainly commented, “Master is, truly, a troublesome person.” Her cheeks were rose-dusted as she muttered, her face a little lowered.

Yes, how will he manage to translate such amazing scenes like this to the series?

>The study that was also a bedroom had Oscar’s previously worn clothes and a pan with leftovers from his last meal all over the floor in a disastrous fashion. Simply put, there had been no space for even one foot to step inside.

>Violet gazed at him with her big pupils. “You called me here with the place in this condition?” her eyes seemed to say.

>“I’m sorry…”

>It was clear that it was not a room someone would work in. Ever since he became alone, he had not used the living room, which was why it was still clean, but the bedroom he frequently entered and exited, the kitchen and the bathroom were in atrocious state.

>Oscar thought he was glad Violet was a mechanical doll. Her body age seemed to be from someone in her 10’s to her mid-20’s; he did not wish to show something so embarrassing to a real woman that young. Even though he was getting old, for a man, it was just deplorable.

>“Master, I’m a secretary, not a maid.” She said as she contradictorily pulled out of her bag a white frilly apron, willingly proceeding to tidy everything up.

>The first day was over just like that.

>On the second day, the two of them sat in the study and started their work. Oscar lay on his bed while Violet sat on a chair and used the typewriter on the desk.

>“She… said:” as Oscar dictated, a blind touch silently wrote down each letter with terrifying speed. He observed, thoroughly surprised. “Pretty… fast, huh.”

>Oscar had Violet put on clothes that imitated his main character and asked her if she could play around a little at the lakeshore. He had already made her do cleaning, laundry and other house chores, and on top of it, asked for such a favor. It was as if she was a factotum.

>Even as Violet was a percipient professional woman, she mused in surprise, “What a troublesome person…”

>"Your hair color…may be a little different, but it’s blond, just like my daughter was. If you put on a one-piece, surely…”

>“Master, I am but a secretary. An Auto-Memories Doll. I’m not your wife or concubine. Nor can I become a replacement.”

>“I-I know that. I wouldn’t have that kind of interest in a girl like you. It’s just… your appearance…if my daughter was alive, I think…she’d have grown into someone sort of like that.”

>Violet’s firm rejection crumbled at that.

>“I really did think you were being too stubborn…so your young lady has passed away?” she bit her lip lightly. Her face seemed to show her conscience was conflicted.

>During these few days, Oscar had become able to understand one thing about her. That is, how Violet would stick to what was considered ‘righteous’ when she was torn between good or bad things.

>“I’m an Auto-Memories Doll…I want to grant my clients’ wishes… but this one violates my work regulations…”

>She behaved as if she was inwardly wrestling with herself, and although Oscar felt bad for it, he tried one last time. “If you could build the image of the girl as a grown-up, coming back home, ready to fulfill her promise, my will to write will soon be revived. It’s true. If you want a reward, I can give anything. I can pay double your original price. This story is really precious to me. I want to finish writing it, and make it my life’s milestone. Please.”

>“But...I…am not a dress-up doll…”

>“Then I won’t take photos or anything of the sort.”

>“You had intended to?”

Violet is a retired war veteran from World War I. Her arms were literally blown off in the war and she retired to become basically a rentable type writer.

Her slogan is "I will run as fast as I can to wherever my customer desires. I am the Auto Memories Doll, Violet Evergarden".

The doll part is kind of a twist since shes not a robot, shes just emotionless and her prosthetics throw people off

It`s less expensive to have a small talented workforce that you treat well.
KyoAni makes more by making less, their productions are cheaper because they don`t have as many people working on the project and almost everything is done in-house keeping quality higher.
This is why we get so few KyoAni anime.

What makes you think they won't have a break/vacation for this? They don't start production this early So the best time for them to start would be around May or June.

Pre-production stuff is a different story though.

No faggot, stop spreading lies.

In the last chapter of volume 1 Gilbert was bleeding like a pig after he went into muh guilt crysis and ordered Violet to go with him, she lost her arms thanks to the explosives. Gilbert found Violet again and they confess their feelings but Gilbert saw Violet as a daughter, there is no romantic development.

I get that they're somewhat too overhyping stuff, but the last thing you'll question from them is if they have a source for their claims. Whether the claims are correct though are a different matter as some are produced from their analysis of actual facts and statements lying around.

You could say

The problem is only one of the writers stalks the social media profiles of Kyoani animators and he doesn't want to give them away otherwise too many people will find out and possibly cause the animators to close their profile. The studio has a very strict policy when it comes to social media.

A read a translated Chinese version of it and only read the first few chapters and some parts of the ending since I didn't want to get spoiled too heavily

The first two chapters talk about Violet and Gilbert's past, with the first chapter focusing more on Gilbert and the second focusing on Violet. I won't spoil too much but basically after realising Violet treats herself as Gilbert's tool, Gilbert sends her to work as an auto memories doll. He fakes his death so Violet will be free to live on her own.

The part I read in the last chapter is basically a confession between the two.

I suppose it's possible if you look hard enough, but they don't explicitly talk about their work. Anyway, I doubt the entire studio went on vacation, but I don't see why a handful won't take a short break after the studio finished three consecutive projects. Ishihara will probably keep a small team around to handle the second Eupho recap movie.

KyoAni doesn't kick actual production in more than half a year. Summer is highly unlikely for them. Still a possibility but highly unlikely.

The best bet is Fall which is around Oct.

No seriously. Tell me then. What's different.

How many drawings do you think they'll have to output to pull that off?

The only difference is episodic production split because of different episode directors, storyboarder, and KA staff.

I'm not clear if she did or not, actually. People were saying she was fired, but PA Works explicitly said she wasn't (though their wording only addressed whether they'd fired her, not whether she still worked there, which is obviously gray area), and I never saw any source from the animator herself saying if she was or not. Either way, whatever action they did take against her was probably less about posting her salary or even saying she's overworked, and more about going on at profanity-ridden length about how much she hates her evil employer, which is a bad move in basically any country.

Koe no Katachi had less than 3 months of production time.

Kobayashi started around October which is at least 3 months leading to January.

The earliest they could have is arround Summer which is July.

So they have at least April-or Early May to start on that project.

He engaged in working on such popular animations as “Big Windup! (Ookiku Furikabutte)” and “Kannagi - Crazy Shrine Maidens”. The office he worked at, however, neglected managing workers’ work hours based on timecards and forced the staff to work overtime without pay. The worker on his Internet journal wrote, “I took only three days off in ten months,” and “It’s already 4 a.m., but I can’t still get out of work.” Long working hours plus excessive workloads caused him to develop depression. Well the thing is, KyoAni isn't doing anything new. In fact, their work philosophy is similar to another Japanese industry, that of certain Japanese restaurants.

Specifically, there are restaurants in Japan who sell a specific quantity of food, and then close their doors for the day when that quota is reached. Like "200 bowls of noodles", for example. This is partly a sales tactic that forces people to line up early to avoid missing out. But it also guarantees quality because you know how much money you were going to make, and instead you just focus on doing the best 200 bowls of noodles that you can every day.

KyoAni follows that kind of philosophy in that they have an internal quota for how much work they will accept every year. We don't know how much that is, but back in the days of Haruhi the waiting list was 2 years long.

KyoAni simply decided to pace themselves and only do as much anime as the studio can handle. That if their schedule is full, they turn away customers. They aren't super-wealthy, but they are able to maintain a decent reputation by deliberately rejecting jobs.

Most other anime studios just don't do this. And if rumours are right, SHAFT allegedly NEVER refuse new jobs, and that is why they kept getting into trouble with scheduling.

They also outsource to hell and back. They don't really care for quality or good business practices

Not that I said kyoAni doing new style, I just comment how kyoAni does the management better while Hatta's friend (Ishikawa) does shit management. I meant WIT is part of IG port now, and another meaning of IG is Itsumo Genki (ALWAYS HAPPY).

I don't think Ishikawa directly oversees IG, isn't Joji Wada the head of WIT?

It's really not about better or worse. KyoAni manage to do what they do because they turn away work. But this isn't standard industry practice. The other guy who had trouble believing that animators actually get holidays, probably got used to the idea of an anime studio being permanently busy due to having more work to do than they could handle, every single day.

It's already March right?
Is there a report for kyoAni 2016 financial now?
