>[Cocona] Flip Flappers - 13 [720p].mp4
Poor Yayaka ends up with the rabbit
i hoped for a better final episode but i was acceptable. 7/10
This is what everyone wanted.
Post the right one.
>Yayaka x Uexkull
I'm not even mad, that's great. And anyways, osananajimi never win and the PapiCoco was too strong.
What the fuck is this? Why did they suddenly portrait Uexkull as a normal rabbit instead of the usual green?
>People said this would be AOTS
>People said this is their AOTY
How fucking tasteless are you? This Show was getting worse by each Episode. The last few Episodes were fucking terrible like 3/10 maybe 4/10 with good will.
No. It's implying that our reality is a PI and Cocona's is the real one.
Papika watches little girls flip their flaps.
>power up was mostly a waste and not as interesting as the 3 flip flappers
>final attack was them just getting pulled into the final boss. Perfect chance for an inazuma kick or somthing.
>dark Mimi had a cooler transformation that the entire cast
Alright show but it flip flopped at the end.
Other Thread hit the bump limit, so also posting this here:
There are two polls here, one for your enjoyment of episode 13 on its own, and one for the series as a whole, now that it is over.
What the fuck was the point of Nyunyu? Why didn't they use that screen time on Iroha?
I'm disappointed that Cocona didn't speak with her or Yayaka again.
Nyunyu was a literal meta-joke about chekov's gun.
There's a rule in writing that if you introduce or give focus to something, it has to DO something to justify its presence in the narrative.
Chekov famously articulates this as "if you show a gun hanging on the wall in act 1, it better go off in act 3." Basically, everything you include should matter, and you shouldn't include anything that doesn't matter because that space is better put to use on something that matters.
Nyunyu was introduced in such a way that the audience would assume that she would be important. In the end, she literally shot Chekov's gun, but was useless. It's a joke.
>Why does Nyunyu exist?
BECAUSE SHE'S CUTE.
As a Yayakafag, I don't understand this. If we absolutely had to save her from ending up alone, I would prefer the twins started warming up to her or something. Rabbit end was too random.
Toto lost. What are they going to make him do?
Get in the fucking womb, Cocona
We didn't even see Cocona accepting Yayaka's apology, or even acknowledging her effort.
They hinted at the twins, too
Yuyu looked up into the PI portal and repeated "onee-chan"
She wasn't talking about herself there, she was calling Yayaka her onee-chan.
Actually, my only disappointment with this finale is that we got no epilogue for the twins. It feels like their character arc was incomplete since they basically just ended still in the KKK base with Toto bleeding out of his skull.
FLIP FLAPPERS IS SAVED!
TIME TO LISTEN OVER THE RAINBOW ON REPEAT
So Salt made a wrapper that could contain evil Mimi and made the lower layers of PI inaccessible with Salts poor outlook on life
Good Mimi rules the above ground.
either that or reality and illusion merged
Why did they make Yunyun pregnant?
She literally cut the umbilical cord
When the change goes too far.
But really, this "grey boring real world" PI was genius.
>still no subs
What the fuck HS?
I loved the fact that even Cocona's school uniform changed to be a more boring one.
I also loved how you could tell it was Salt's PI because Cocona's room was covered in music references
Where's the HnK anon?
Did he kill himself already?
Really? I thought it was a generic PI.
Salt's PI is the ruined clover field. It's really appropriated since he's basically a walking bundle of guilty because of what happened to Mimi.
That's mainly because Cocona almost never actually does things when she henshined.
Her "Pure Blade" cut things exactly twice this entire series, once in episode 3 and again in episode 13.
>Fails to get Cocona
>Doesn't even get the amorphous kids as consolation
>Has to take care of Cocona's pet while she's off with her lover
>All of this and she still has a smile on her face
Is Yayaka the ultimate cuckold?
Nope she just grew as a person. If you really love a person you will eventually learn to accept the fact they love another and will find a small bit of joy in knowing they are happy together. Overall her arc was very well done.
>In Osaka in the year "AD20XX," Hand Shakers are partners who can summon "Nimrodes," weapons born from their deep psyche by joining hands. In order to grant the pair's wish, the Hand Shakers compete with and fight other Hand Shaker pairs. The top pair will then meet and challenge "God."
Trainwreck of the season
You don't know what ultimate cuckoldry's like until you've played Xenoblade. Although Yayaka is up there.
Really feeling that sakuga
>people thought this scene was Papika's death while it really was CocoPapi confession
It was good but Yayaka and Iroha deserved better.
There's a handful of anime I've enjoyed so thoroughly that I could never rate them relative to one another. After this finale, I certainly count Flip Flappers among them. It was really just everything I wanted it to be. This anime was made for me.
>Iroha deserved better.
What, they literally fixed her mental problems and she is free to paint out of passion and a love for art instead of a mechanism to deal with her horrible past.
She got an amazing ending
The polls exist for exactly this reason. Vote if you haven't already, otherwise, view the results and see the answer for yourself:
Official thread poll
i haven't watched this since episode 2, but does any episode manage to be as good as the first?
i thought that was great, but then the second one was just edgy and not "Cocona and Papika go on fun adventures"
Congratulations. I'll be marrying my girlfriend (now fiance), Sayuri, soon as well.
Holy shit, stop.
She should have been more involved with Cocona past episode 6 and those scenes would definitely have had more value than the ones wasted on Sayuri and Nyunyu.
3, 5, and 6 were really good.
I don't understand, how was episode 2 edgy?
PIs have fixed, natural exits.
Cocona was probably too young to remember this experience, or else simply thought it was a dream.
If you rewatch episode 1 you definitely get the distinct impression that Papika at least remembered this tree encounter and recognized Cocona.
Every episode was a rollercoaster and I was exited evertime to se what crazy shit they were going to come up with. The last episode felt predictable although well-executed, nonetheless it felt a bittersweet taste in my mouth, I liked it but it could've been better.
There was zero romance between anyone. The ending was Asuka giving Kumiko her music notebook, saying goodbye and fluffing her octopus hair. That last thing was what /u/ interprets as them confessing love to each other.
Yes, fluffing someone's hair
Man I have too many posts to read
7/10, still think the first episodes were the best, ending was rushed, 9-13 weren't really great but I'm glad we got a happy ending.
>senpai wearing nail polish
It's the little things
No one adressed Papika's age or what her identity means in her relationship with Cocona, are they going by the ''ignorance is bliss'' route
>Kumiko x Asuka happened.
by which you mean kumiko finally gets her act together and does a generic daisuki "confession"
and asuka laughs and walks off
truly a romance for the ages
Doesn't that mean she's still the mindbroken notIroha?
>Only one yuri couple
Which is totally fine and Yayaka's been seen pleasing pussies since ep 4.
I dont think any of that matters to her this point. She loves loves LOVES Cocona, and thats pretty much the end of it. She probably doesn't stop to think about such things herself.
Cocona got her cake and will eat it soon.
They're going with the true love route.
The way they confessed made it pretty clear that there was no need to even bring up the age gap, it just didn't matter at that point. Cocona didn't care if Papika was old enough to be her mother or if her breath smells slightly of umbilical cord, just like Papika doesn't care that she was sexually in love with a baby.
They're past the point where love makes sense.
Gotta sell the movies and ovas
I can even see it: Hibike the Movie, with Kumiko getting incredibly intimate on all the posters and promotional material
then in the movie she confesses to shoe
Not only KyoAni shit posting, but Cocona's VA plays a blond oppai shota eater who raped her sister while drunk.
the best part is they blueballed everyone with a different pairing
reina seemed to be the ticket in S1 but she barely shows up in S2, and if she did it was only to have a lost cause crush on taki
in s2 kumiko has moved on to being weirdly not guy about asuka but asuka doesn't give a shit either
maybe in S3 she can get disappointed by midori or something
if we get an OVA, what would you prefer it to be about?
I would just like a comfy epilogue episode showing what their life is like now- where are they living, is Salt gonna try to be a dad now?
>white socks instead of stockings
That was the best 2D > 3D I've seen in a while.
Either a slice of life epilogue showing all the characters living happy lives in the real world, Cocona picking a school and all that
Or a prequel with Yayaka, Toto and Yuyu exploring an unknown PI before the events of the main series and facing a defense trap, done in the same sort of standalone episodic style as 3, 5 and 8.
I'd like a closer adaptation to the manga where best girl wins.
>Mad Max Yuri Road poster.
He didn't just see the poster, he liked the video on twitter.
I'd be tempted to believe that it had some influence but at the same time, I think the Mad Max references in 3 were deliberate, and it was already a source of inspiration well before anyone made that video.
My wallet is ready
Gonna lose my buyfag virginity to this show, iku~
I thought it was melodramatic, didn't make me feel a thing. If they established the relationship between characters better before that episode aired it could've been great, but I just felt like I was watching a sob story I don't need to give a fuck about.
Yayaka's moments in episode 12 and her henshin were more impactful becuse they had some buildup.
I'm going to miss these threads.
So long anons. See you in Hand Shakers threads I guess.
I wonder how soon the threads will run out of steam. Post show ending depression a shit.
>LITERALLY "REALIZE LOVE FOR EACH OTHER"
>LITERALLY SAY "I LOVE YOU"
IS EVERYONE IN JAPAN A SOCIOPATH
HAVE THESE SLANT EYED FUCKS EVER SEEN A MOTHER FUCKING PAIR OF LOVERS
IS EVERYONE IN SUNRISU RAND AN ANTISOCIAL FUCK
>WE WILL NEVER EVER KNOW WHO THE BUST WAS
IT JUST ISN'T FAIR
It was a good reference. Smile!
This is the best of the worst that Japan is capable of producing.
Why the second half had to be so shitty?
Why the development had to be so nuts and contradictory?
Why almost all that Cocona had to say was "mother" and "love you"?
Why accept her mistakes came with everything reseted?
Why nips like these dumb stories so much?
Biggest disappointment for me so far.
But let's applaud the animators that suffered so much to animate all this.
>Is this show worth a watch? Looks pretty.
>Overrated garbage, it started out okay but had a writer change in the middle so it wasn't even that good outside of the animation sadly
>Okay, guess I'll pass
>Flip Flappers thread commences
The description is here: >>151562005
It looks like it's gonna be a mess
I'm still watching this.
Is it Thursday yet? Can't wait for the next episode guys.
>Does it have to be the Papika you know?
Here's your answer
Yeah, at much as I like lillies this one should stay cute and about adventures.
My gf btw
Regularly scheduled threads when there's no hope of new material feels like a bad idea.
Better to let a thread crop up now and again incidentally than try to force a conversation we've long finished having.
If all looks well I'm hanging around till the end of New Years Day then I'm peacing out. You don't want end up like those eternal generals or even the quasi-frequent/daily/weekly ones.
Oh no! They're all cute!
sorry anon, I decided that I am going to carry the scars of my failure
Its like Poetry, it Rhymes.
seriously though, I am noticing parallels like this throughout the entire series, and it is deepening my appreciation of it.
Just make the occasional thread with a cockona picture to talk about the show, there's no need to have schedules (and apparently that will only make people hate you because I guess we're in such low supply of board space according to some mods).
Papika babysitted Cocona when she was a baby. Cocona took care of Papika when she de-aged and went full retard. Papika saying 'loved you since you were born' was a conclusion towards the earlier conflict Yayaka brought that she never knew anything about Cocona, and Yayaka has known Cocona for a long time (earlier than a supposedly random stranger that is Papika). Plus, it's also meant to resolve Papika's indecision to distinguish Cocona from Mimi. Kinda easy really, after marathoning.
Kill la Kill hadad enough fans to keep threads running half a year or something after the show aired because everyone was waiting for the OVA
I know because by reading them you could easily tell those were regulars that couldn't let go of the show. There's just no reason to make threads when you have nothing to discuss.
It doesn't matter than much anyway. Papika felt in love with the coconuts while having amnesia. It was a new beggining for both.
You think you can escape your guilt,
You'd think a girl like her would be nopan.
Episode 1 was so good I was immediately scared from the beginning that this show wouldn't be able to keep it up and not crash and burn. But the first 11 episodes were great and I had almost no complaints until the last two. I think it could've ended better but desu I had been expecting way worse, and what we got definitely wasn't bad. Fantastic show, easily aoty for me and a contender for best of the decade so far.
Moreso when you consider how Anons have remarked at the insane amount of foreshadowing and build-up in FF. Nearly everything was foreshadowed and paid off, so they knowingly applied that storywriting principle throughout.
why did this happen
This sounds like a bad idea. Threads and generals without a purpose devolve very quickly into nothing more than circlejerking and shit posting, and ends up making the fanbase hated by everyone else.
I am 100% behind threads for BD releases/changes and any events or interviews that are Flip Flap related however. But just having threads just because is a bad idea.
Honestly pretty disappointing, Salt had more character than Papika and Cocona combined, hell Sayuri did too. Papika and Cocona just shouted each others names constantly and somehow that counted for "character" "development"
Ending was underwhelming, honestly. Lots of fighting and end of the world stuff without a engaging reason just doesn't do it for me.
Uexkull as a normal rabbit was fucking hilarious though as was the bullet to the brain and I'm glad it was a happy end. The love love love love shit got me too.
I want more Yayaka flip flapping.
I really wish instead of just playing the usual ED animation, they played the song over a montage of Papika and Cocona going on further adventures in Pure Illusion. It could've even been a slideshow at that point.
And the cute girls
Nope. And wish it was Bloom getting animated instead. God knows yayacucks and tamaofags would migrate to this girl.
Thanks for remembering.
You echo my thoughts pretty much 100%.
I feel like 12 and 13 could both have been better if they were longer- or maybe if we had an episode 14 so that they werent so crammed and they could spread stuff out a bit more.
Either way, it was really good and awesome. When your shows worst episode is an 8/10 and the majority of the show is 10/10, you got a flawed masterpiece at worst. Not bad at all for a directorial debut that had serious production/time constraints near the end. I expect GREAT things from Oshiyama in the future.
If you rewatch the series you can trace the growth of her gayness across it.
She starts off relatively straight but slowly succumbs to Papiflaps as time goes on. By episode 7 she's practically full blown faggot. 13 is just her finally giving in completely.
A midair kiss a-la Eureka 7 would have made this show my favorite of the year. After the clusterfuck that was episodes 10-12, I'll have to give the entire thing another watch to remind me why I loved it so much at the beginning and see how well it holds up as a whole. Can't shake the inkling of disappointment about what could have been, though. But at this point it's just an inkling. They did good.
Glad we got some Papika explanations and the welcome return of the budget for 13. Everything looked a lot crisper, similar to the first half of the show.
The faces are horrifying
It will have a typical girl friendship, but as long as two girls are close to each other in at least one instance of interaction, you know how deluded yurifags will be. Like, when Ako and Diana holding hands and reconciling, etc.
You can call her a giraffe for all I care but you can't deny she is in love with Papika and Papika is in love with Cocona. Later tonight Cocona is going to put the moves on her wife
because they've been tweeting about it.
honestly a lot of people were expecting episode 13 to be some horrible production disaster with missing color and slideshows, but they pulled it off pretty well in the end.
Good Mimi really is wife-material.
Cocona is a lesbian but what about Papika, she's way too innocent to be anything, just look at her
We'd get 10 seasons of Flip Flap before getting a second season of Leviathan. I think you can count the Leviathan BD sales on one hand.
None of the girls are gay, confirmed. They will be riding cocks in Cocona's case like her mother in no time.
Cocona's descend into gayness was actually well done for a show not focuses 100% on yuri.
Innocent? Is this the face of an innocent girl? She is Cocosexual so much she is willing to robe the cradle
What the fuck
They should have waited another cour to air this show. And actually advertise Flip Flap.
Um, did you forget everyone saying "amai" in Cocona's reality? Nothing is real.
Yeah I think only the last two episodes suffered from QUALITY issues, would be nice if the entire thing was well animated, still AOTS
Still too many unanswered questions.
They'd be playing around, and playing around would give way to fooling around and they'd both know things are getting serious but not want to stop because the tension of doing it with the other and the fear of something so adult excites them. Cocona would hesitate and Papika would hold her very close and whisper breathily in her that she'll show her something she learned a long time ago, and a world that only she knows.
With knee driven between parting legs, she'll lean in for it and Cocona will give way to it like a warm wave crashing between her lips. And they will be one for a moment that lasts more than a moment, and neither will want to let go. They'll never have a need to let go.
Not him, but my favorite part of this episode was when Cocona let Papika sniff her hair to her heart's content without even raising an eyebrow about it.
I was there.
There wasn't yuri in Akuma no Riddle, either.
