Why doesn't Subaru just kill himself whenever something goes wrong?
>>144169724
Because if he kill himself he will die.
Haven't watched the show but I can guess that killing yourself doesn't get anymore fun just because you revive
>>144170048
This
Plus they don't really have any insta kill things like guns
Unless they have some insta kill spells that I don't know about
Friendly reminder that Umaru is a cute little orange nugget.

Is there any anime/manga that you dropped because you just can't seem to bring yourself to finish it?
>pic related
You mean like out of laziness or forgetting? Tons.
>Kiss x Sis
>Grisaia no Kaijtsu
>Re:Shit
>Sword Aruto Online
But seriously, watching anime is about trial and error, you have to be a pope to have enough faith to keep watching a show you don't like. Everyone alive has dropped atleast 1 show.
>>144169271
>because you just can't seem to bring yourself to finish it?
What did he mean by this?
Fuck one, kiss one, ignore one.
>>144168442
Tough one.
Fuck Sera.
Kiss Saras.
Ignore Mael.
Fuck, Ignore, Kiss.
I hate cowboy hats on girls. Hate hate hate hate hate cowboy hats on girls. Hate them. Hate every tacky stupid vacant fashion-insulting aspect of them. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone could like them. Hated the implied insult to waifufags by the belief that anyone would be endeared by them.

Biggest time-skip troll I have ever seen.
Fuck this author, he really managed to trick me until the very last page.
And in the fucking last page, you can see the face of the damn person reflected in the damn manga at that very scene.
Must admit, this was genius.
We need more Re:Zero and Takagi-san threads on /a/.

This fucking chapter.
I never felt so trolled by a twist since the Arrancar Saga finale in Bleach.
Holy shit, like, I'm kinda between choking the author to death and hugging him at the same time right now.
Also, Chapter 32 is out, and jsut went back to the past out of nowhere too.
Talk about a Troll Author (you all feel free to add him on TVTropes in this very category, this pretty much confirms it)
Sentai released Higurashi on Blu-Ray, without a proper 1080p upscale done by the nips. What we recieved is a shitty blurry, soft, washed out, aliased and interlaced mess. Who the fuck thought this was acceptable. They literally just upscaled it to 1080i and slapped it on a disc. Why.
>>144167979
>upscales
>proper
The Japanese probably upscaled it themselves.
If it wasn't produced in 1080p, there's zero fucking point in buying a blu-ray unless they do some crazy remastering work or remake it from scratch or something.
>>144167979
It wouldn't have been good if they did use it either, but it doesn't help that Sentai made things worse by trying to fit everything on less discs.
Look at the start of the ED. What the fuck. The blood also flickers about the screen for no goddamn reason
I've noticed that if you scale it down to 480p, the image looks perfectly fine, even better than the DVDs.
Why is Matsuri the best Mashimaro?
That's not Chika.
That's not Ana.
>>144168152
Wew lad, I'm in the mood for some more Chika.
Best kissing scene in anime?

Agreed. But it's only to be expected of the anime which also has the best autismdo
A sizeable portion of anime fans seems to be prejudiced against a certain kind of anime which they consider to "take itself too seriously" in their own words (some even go as far as labelling some of it as 'anime for people who do not like anime'). For them, it seems that anime is but mere entertainment and that it needs little artistic justification beyond the established canons of the genre and its popularity.
As a non-Japanese individual who only got well acquainted with Japanese animation at a relatively late stage in his life (early twenties), I can only reject and disagree with the aforementioned stance.
I am well aware of the target audience of said industry in Japan and how it translates to the rest of the world, but I think nonetheless that mature, intelligent anime should prevail and be recognised as the quality product it is in contrast with the more juvenile over-the-top stuff that seems to inundate the market. Animation, be it Japanese or "Western", is an awesome channel to communicate and tell a story, it shouldn't be regarded as inherently inferior respect to live-action cinema nor should it be a straight-up ripoff of manga or comics both formally and thematically speaking (don't get me wrong, the latter are two amazing formats in their own right).
Miyazaki and the Ghibli studio shone a light on the huge possibiliies anime had to carry some symbolism without necessarily resorting to complicated plots or long TV series. Satoshi Kon taught us that surrealism and the oneiric were not incompatible with anime. Ishiguro proved that one can create an excellent long anime from a series of novels, without the sempiternal manga as the reference.
Well-crafted Japanese animation can be awesome and has not much to envy to "serious" films with real actors and deep plots, the problem is the constant catering to the mindless, low-rewarding escapist stuff in the industry.

Not my favorite anime? It's shit.
I get the feeling you used the fedora image because you know that's how 99% of users replying are going to see this as.
I completely agree though, that is pretty spot on as to how I feel about anime and why I don't go on /a/ or similar anime discussion forums very often. The people just bother me too much and don't really look at anime the same way I do.
If there was a place full of tryhards I could go to discuss the nuances of my cartoons without getting spammed with fedora images I would go there.
Why is this show so popular? I was so god damn bored watching this, I couldn't care about the characters at all.
Am I just not mature enough to see past the nudity and gore? Is it too deep for me?

The opposite most likely
I'm getting real tired of all these newfags who are too dumb to appreciate this classic.
