Yeah, GF seems to have some serious aversion to bringing back characters that aren't Cynthia. I guess the idea is to make each game more standalone but it's really weird that they've made so many great human character designs and yet they outright refuse to bring most of them back.

There were connections to a lot of other regions in SM. I personally dislike the idea of two Champions working together. Lance seemed cool because he took care of everything alone. Same applies to Steven. Alder, while he jobbed, was cool because of how much he did alone. He felt strong. If two Champions work together, it gives of the impression the Champion isn't that strong on his own.

Cross-region stories just means that new characters and teams don't get to stand on their own.

When I get my Kantonese visa, I am moving to Tamamushi to attend a prestigious University to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for OLM or a game designer!

I own several yukatas, which I wear around Alola. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Kantō, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Kantonese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.
