If Pidgeot can fly at Mach 2 with a base 91 speed. Does that mean Pokémon with a base stat speed of 91+ are capable of traveling at speeds as or faster than Mach 2?
Or are base stats arbitrary?

I feel you bro, I still use gallade, just for the resistance to opposing fighting attacks and lack of weakness to psychic, but it's the weakspot of my team at this point.
GF doesn't seem to care much for fighting types anymore, we finally got a Dragon/Fighting type, the most desired combo before fairy was introduced, and it's disappointing in both design and competitive viability.

it's my first time playing a pokemon game, i'm emulating Pokemon Sapphire - I already know I should have chosen Emerald instead, but ah well.
Anyhow, do I have to train all of my Pokemon in my party to the same level - have 'em all equally as strong, or is it better to have a select 2 or 3 that are super powerful?
