From what I'm gathering from the posts in the thread, in order to train a pawn properly I need to go into its vocation and basically just copy what I want them to do generally for each encounter?

I really don't know what I'm doing this first playthrough so I have a feeling my pawn might be working really wonky by the end since I'm playing a strider.

More or less. Good news is once you figure out what you're doing you can still take them out on a training run later, pawns are prone to drop "ineffective" techniques (i.e. whatever they happen to be doing most frequently when they die).

Dunno what to tell you about playing toss though, might just be a quirk you get to enjoy.

That's not how trade or "rock" bans work. If you're getting 0RC and a rock from a rent return it means that player (NOT YOU) triggered the flood-detection system. Since when Capcom fixed the rent system they just pushed through all the held up rents at once lots of people had the flood-detection triggered for them.

Tends to last for only a couple days, depending on how much gift spamming the player continues to attempt.

It shouldn't cause any errors with your game itself, but the online network will notice and pause your ability to get gifts. Meddle too much and it may ban you outright though that's usually reserved for obviously hacked pawns.

Seems like assassin to 200 and then swap to ranger for longbow is the best way to play archer. You still get to shoot shit and you also get the best str possible in the game alongside the second highest Stam progression.

No, like other classes it has strengths and weaknesses - it's just obscenely overpowered in Bitterblack because pretty much every aspect of the vocation is designed for an area with cramped quarters, a need for mobility and good elemental coverage.

And since BBI is where the endgame shenanigans are, most people will tend to eventually gravitate towards it. BBI also introduced the Blackwing Bow and Ninefold Bolt and that pushes things over the edge.

Not really, you'll have great defense and health, and you'll still be using daggers against some enemies. Just play sorc for a little while to get some magick attack and the rank 9 augment (+20% to magick, it'll make a big difference) and you'll be fine. I'd also do some strider or ranger for stamina, but that's me.

The Different Sky Quests are bullshit, just ignore them. Some of them are placed in areas that are locked behind certain quests and some of them are literally only available in an area only temporarily open before the end-game for a literal single mission.

OCD in this game is not recommended, otherwise you'll be doing every single escort quest and since EVERY NPC HAS ONE AND THERE ARE LIKE 200 OF THEM, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

I dont think anyone's denying you'll get bigger numbers.

The issue is by that point in the game, there's literally nothing to use those numbers on. You're already killing Ur-Daimon in 10 hits. You're one-shotting regular enemies already. There's the Ur-Dragon but he drops stuff BBI Level 2 items outclass, unless you want to compete on hacked leaderboards nobody looks at because as we've established the Everfall's existence as an end-game dungeon has been replaced.

You just spent hours with no class versatility for the prize of killing things a few seconds faster when you can play exactly like you want with the harsh and crushing price that you murder end-game horrors in THREE attacks instead of two?!?!

The game is balanced around balanced builds, it does not reward minmaxing in any capacity.

What skills should a fighter pawn use? Already has zero charging skills.

I've been playing MK the entire game, had no problems whatsoever with perfect blocking so far, some enemies have been tougher than others for sure, but this one ?
Forget perfect block, I havent been able to block at all a single one of his attacks and he knocked me over a dozen times.

Also, if there is some DD veteran here, I'd like a few clarifications on the progression during late game BBI.
As you can guess from the screenshot, I've 'completed' Duskmoon tower, and am now in the second part of BBI ( right ? )
The huge Eye as well as the Cockatrice were really annoying with mass slows, blindings, and petrifications.
I understand some of the debilitations can be cured with halidom, others cannot.
Basically, I'm gonna have to spent 50% of my time in the inventory, searching through dozens of curatives to apply or give the right ones to each pawn ?
Then, when I get some of the best armors in the game with nearly 100% resistances, everything becomes trivial ?
Thats not great progression to me, but whatever, fighting is still fun.
I've never died even though I just dinged 60 and often had a message saying that the labyrinth is not for 'young arisens'.
Whatever.

I also have a grip with Death, hes cool looking and all, but in my 2 encounters so far, I understand hes unkillable for me right now, all he did was choose one of my pawns, and simply insta kill it. Sweet, now you have to go back to that rift stone and summon the poor pawn again. Is that supposed to make you fear him ? Thats just tedious in my book.

Finally, is there at some point, the feeling that all of your 3 pawns actually do great damage, or are really useful ?
Against that guy in the screenshot for example, they all got one shot all the time, so I had to solo him.
I'm asking this because I could tell from the first few minutes into BBI that its a very different game than DD, in which you cant really tell the weaknesses of the pawns because nothing is really menacing.

Is there a way to fast travel back into BBI? I'm at the doors of Forsaken Church or whatever, but I need to go back and change my inventory and abilities. Do I really have to go through all the floors all over again to get back to this boss?

Honestly losing interest in this game as I finished it, took lots of time to make my pawn archer only. But suddenly she became retarded and is climbing every big monster that appear, even though I don't do this.

If someone needs a mage pawn, I've got one on level 41 called alatar.
Number 99 on the sheet. I'm currently testing his Inclination/AI/Traning having any effect on his focused botl usage.
So far I think that Inclination and teaching has nothing to do with it. Seems to me that he needs high enemy knowledge and once he has that he knows that he can do focused bolt as a knockback attack, to knock them back. Meaning he starts spaming it once he has enough knowledge. I would really appreciate some feedback on that.

If I want to correctly train my pawns I have to teach them what to do playing as their same class right? if I change class later do they keep their knowledge or start doing things I do with my current class like getting close to enemies instead of staying away and cast If I've teached that before to them?

yeah' ive been trying to figure out how pawn AI works.
I don't think that it's possible for any pawn to learn anything. It's just that he unlocks certain techniques once he reaches a certain level/knowledge or sees you do it. There's no way a game runnin on a console can handle intellegent AI that learns to observe, evelauate that data and then execute that himself.

Though what's shaking this for me are complicated combos. If it's possible for a pawn to learn/unlock a combo like, JumpKick,DoubleJump,Helmsplitter,Reset,HeavyAttack, then I really doubt that my theory is true because I don't belive that devs thought of this combo to be unlocked.
For easier stuff like Focused Bolt, Dodge Roll, Heavy Jumpattack I can see my theory being true because enemies have to use this stuff too and they need to know this without anyone teaching them and I would assume that your pawn has this same AI. This way Inclination barly seem to have an input on Combat behavior for me, it seem that they just filter out some actions if they are not Primary/Secondary/Tertiary, but that's it.
