>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

What skills am I looking for on a fighter pawn? Need a 4th party member that draws attention
>No one ever shits on the dumb slut princess
Reposting from last thread. This is my first playthrough and I don't want to miss out on all this gear.
I'm in a pickle, boys.
I'm currently stuck in that weird limbo state of Fournival's trial where, if I enter the town square, it triggers the cutscene where Fournival is judged (guilty, at the moment). As long as I avoid the town square I can keep delivering evidence, though.
I never got the golden idol quest so I need him to live.
The witness who testifies on his behalf was murdered by a griffin.
His daughter refuses to give me her petition, I don't know why but she won't give me an item she just says "I believe my father is innocent" over and over.
So, the only way for me to get an innocent verdict is to buy all those things from Reynard. But I can't fucking find the guy. What's the best way to find him? Does anyone know what it is that resets his location, whether it's time passing in game, or quitting/loading, etc?
My Challenger/Mitigator Ranger pawn doesn't really use the bow much.
>was down to just below one bar before
>now back up to THREE
Okay seriously, this is a bit beyond a joke now. Fucking hell.
>After completing the quest Off With Its Head, he can randomly be found in the following areas :
> Cassardis, across the street from the inn.
> Devilfire Grove, Rest Camp
> Gran Soren, around Fountain Square during the day and in the inn at night.
> Greatwall Encampment, next to the Rift Stone.
> The Encampment, near the southern entrance.
So this is my first time playing this game, if I want the jewtits for a waifu when should I max her affinity for the safest chance of actually getting her? What's the optimal time/quest window?
Are you seriously gimping yourself if you play for a while as one vocation and switch to a completely different vocation? For example, from Fighter to Sorceror?
Also, are discipline points universal, or are they only accumulated and used for the vocation they were earned with?
Can i get some MK pointers?
Been trying it out after 50 levels of Fighter and Warrior, and really digging it. But obviously for some of the more powerful skills i'm going to need Magick. Any good weapons for that? The Maces sure as hell don't seem to have any.
Or am i fucked and need to spend some levels as Mage/Sorc for the stat gains and Magick Boost augments?
>6 mil RC on PS3
>top of pawn list on PC, friend requests everywhere
Goddamn it feels good, I was nowhere near the top of the ranking back on PS3. Too bad it won't last.
You know that goats were fucked by roaming bands of warriors back in the day, so a "she goat" is more than just a childish insult. The only way she keeps her mercenaries in line is by letting them all, yes ALL, fuck her senseless.
Kek, yeah you really managed to get yourself in a bind.
I know Reynard will travel between Gran Soren, the Encampment, and Cassardis. Wait long enough at one of those and you'll find him, check the wiki.
Alternatively just let Fournival hang and move on. It's not THAT huge of a deal, get the Golden Idol on NG+ for the discounts tho'. The real reason people like to save Fournival is he sells periapts which are helpful in BBI 2.0, and you don't have to worry about that yet.
>tfw the only one hiring your pawn is your friend
>having big fight against ogre
>walks around a corner and kills itself with explosive barrels
>Quina gives me a flower to give to someone for a quest
>hand it straight back to her and it completes the quest
yes I know it gives you weal if used and you can forge other ones, I don't really mind the leveling speed though
Is it possible to train a pawn and keep it trained if the pawn has a very different vocation to mine?
Yes, I could switch from Assassin to Sorceror to train up my sorceror pawn for a couple hours. But I'm eventually going to switch back to assassin and then slowly un-train it as it watches me as an assassin and goes back to rushing into battle and trying to climb shit instead of hanging back and throwing magic.
Is it possible to have a well-trained pawn who is ranged when you are melee, or vice versa?
I'm using regular equipment, whatever that smith at Gran Soren sells. Right now i have the highest level but still, they feel so fucking bland.
Where can i get some unique weaponry for my fighter ?
>Tfw a big tittied white elf
>View cutscene of Mason staring at her
>Get lewd thoughts
>Imagine Mason pounding her elf ass behind the Inn for more gold
>Put myself in her place
The hell is wrong with me
Here's my concern: let's say Reynard happened to be in the town square of grand soren when the 4 days ran out. Is he still there? Stuck?
Remember, I *cannot* enter the square or the cutscene where fournival is judged gets triggered. As much time can pass as I want, and my evidence will still be accepted, as long as I avoid the town square
Got her hired at 16. I'm the same level, and favorited. I'm sure we'll have many bloody adventures together. If anything interesting happens, I'll try to document it. When she gets back, you'll know it was from me
Death of a Saurian.
Some maces or swords come with an enchantment.
I already talked about it earlier but if you enchant a purely physical weapon with a buff, you get a lot of mag that will boost the Great Cannon. Overall, tests have shown that you'll do more damage with a physical enchanted than a mixed enchanted. Of course if you don't have an enchantment on your weapons then your GC will do shit damage, so always have a skill just in case like holy enchantment.
You can go full Sorc until 200 and have a pretty balanced MK, but then it depends what kind of periapts you're going to use.
If you go full strength you can just use four conqueror's periapts for every fight. If you go mixed it's better to use four conqueror and four demon.
I found that list on the wiki, what I'm asking is what triggers him moving locations?
Logically, I could just wait at any one of those locations and eventually he would show up, but I'm trying to figure out what action on my part makes reynard move? Is it sleeping at an inn? loading in/out of areas? quitting/relaunching the game?
>level pawn as mage/sorc
>switch it to Ranger for larks
>it's actually pretty dope but pawn has shit stats
So I take it leveling up as the right vocation is the only way to raise your desired stat (attack, in my pawns case)?
>decide to try tiny build Arisen this time around
>go with loli instead of half-ling man
>Mason is my beloved by the ending
>bite the bullet and say "fuck it"
>Mason going down on me at the camp
Is there a way to quickly gain vocation ranks? I want the 20% strength agument from the warrior in 10 levels or less.
Do you honestly think he needs to do 150 levels of Sorceror to have a balanced MK? That's crazy and untrue.
Fuck, you could play 150 levels of fighter and only 50 of sorceror and still be a totally viable, BBI-capable MK. It's quite easy to make up gaps with gear.
why is BiBl so trash? who wants to fight a bunch of damage sponge boss monsters that OHKO you? who the fuck thinks this is fun?
this is exactly why I never played through the DLC in the first place. they ruined the formula
...but he's not.
Here's what I tried last time I played: I slept at the inn in Cassardis until morning. Made sure he wasn't in Cassardis, then ran to the encampment. When he wasn't in the encampment I ferrystoned back to cassardis and slept till morning again. Rinse and repeat. I did this 6 or 7 times and never saw him, which is what started to worry me.
How do I feed inclination elixirs to my pawn?
Do I need to drink them myself?
I put it in my pawn's inventory and the game told me I couldn't use my pawn's items
hey just installed the dd. Do I understand correctly there is no focus button? In fight my character constantly either turns to my pawns or attacks in a direction different than the direction of the control stick.
Well actually for a balanced he'd have to go assassin until 100 and sorc until 200.
I totally told him it's viable to go full strength. Read again.
There's a difference between balance and viable. Yes 150 fighter 50 sorc is viable, but it's not balanced at all.
THIS. I've been asking something like this in every other thread and noone answers. I'm about 20 hours in, playing a Warrior with a mage pawn and it's all I can think about. Do any veterans here have the answer?
Arisen in the middle wearing Mercedes armor because why not.
Anybody else getting this issue when the credits are supposed to show up?
I beat the BBI and it crashed right after the
first Daimon fightand now again at the end of the main game.
>Make qt loli
>She's meant to be just a cute healing nun that has fighters as her pawns
>Ends up being a lolibitch healer that only hires strong and beefcake brown and black fighters/warriors that can give her a good dicking
Having done so for multiple old playthroughs, yes you can.
In my experience, a pawn uses abilities that it has proven work well. If my pawn learns to climb as that vocation, me changing doesn't make it range any more than before unless I change its inclinations.
Is this rotten cunt EVER going to enter fucking grace? This is getting out of hand now.
Fucking griffons, where can I fight one?
killed bluemoon one at bluemoon and i've seen others flying around occasionally but now i can't find any
jackasses constantly harass me when I don't wanna fight them
What other longbow skills are worth using on a pawn ranger besides tenfold flurry? I feel like some people would assume my pawn was gimped because she's not using 3 skills.
Does your vocation rank take less levels to go up if you're a higher level? Is it possible for a level 15 Arisen to get Rank 9 in Warrior in 10 levels?
What are the best spells to equip for a level 170-200 sorc? Or is it better to just give her an affinity and train her to focused bolt shit? She's a Challenger/Utilitarian/Mitigator
I was thinking
>grand seism? is this skill ever wanted? i personally found it lacking
should i be giving her holy affinity?
Really thinking of changing it a bit.
> Turned off health bars because muh immersion
Who /mh/ here?
At one point it was down to fucking just shy of one full HP bar, but the next time it was back up to 3.
There's multiple copies of Urdy that people fight, which are then all synced and their HP averaged out. This is fucking bullshit though, seriously. Urdy's HP just isn't budging from 3 bars now.
Magic in this game, man. I mean honestly is there a cooler spell than a fucking electrical whip?
This place is fucking great, I fucking love playing assassin.
>oops servers no work
There's a damage cap set in place to prevent ruskies from insta-killing Urdy. If you don't see "Accessing server..." after he flies away it means you went over the limit and your damage will not be accounted for.
It's far from perfect, but at least it prevents people from cheating the system.
the first time I fought the ogre in spiral staircase hell I was rediculously underleveled, did like 10% of one healthbar, and gave up
As I was running to the exit I suddenly got thousands of xp. I can only assume in spontaneously combusted
Am I a retard for buying this game solely due to this image?
If "Accessing server ..." does not appear at the top right of the screen at the end of the round, the maximum damage cap has been exceeded. An exceeded round will have no effect on the online Ur-Dragon's health - the damage cap was implemented to avoid save-edited enhanced characters upsetting the balance of play.
The Online Ur-Dragon's damage limit was determined to be-- approximately--28 million in damage per round in December 2012. This translates to typically 0.10 to 0.20 of a health bar, which can vary slightly since the Dragon does not always spawn with the exact same Defense and/or Magick Defense from one generation to the next.
How long do they take to activate and should I drink multiple?
Right now I'm just trying to change his secondary inclination
Want some of my Utilitarian/Challenger?
so what's the situation on model modding? I think i previously saw some progress on model importing. A quick search regarding the .mod file format seems there's support yet.
I tried modifying Mercedes' getup just by textures but it seems there's parts of the body missing under as expected.
Lets see some general screenshots
Maybe the bought the non-steam version
Instantly, normally only one will suffice.
Thing is, if you drink only one, the one you drink will go as primary inclination, so you might want to drink a second after to "push" the first drink as secondary inclination.
I answered in the last thread, actually. Getting tired of the "/ddg/ don't answer nuthin'" bs.
Anyhow in brief, you can be a different vocation from your pawn and it's fine. The key is taking some time for a good training session, pick either your pawn's vocation or one similar and take it out against some monsters you're comfortable with until you are satisfied with your pawn's performance.
After you switch back to your main vocations, your pawn will learn some bad habits from the mismatch... BUT as long as you trained it well it won't forget the most effective techniques and will just get a few "quirks" that aren't really a problem.
I just updated her by the way, new cloak and maybe augments depending on last time you updated her.
I'll go do that
I've changed him a bit and have a new armor now but that's basicly the same.
>Worst case scenario he's not in grace so I do some more damage to him and he gets a little bit closer
Literally nothing to lose
Wait if you get a rock and 0rc, it means you're banned? Why would I be banned though, if this is in the legit game with a new save?
I still got a 5 star rating for my pawn, 4 in the other two slots.
Just guessing based on the 360 having longer grace and being less populated, so I figure the high pops on PC now are going to give a quick turn-around on grace. Certainly seemed quick last night when I caught Urdy in grace.
I really liked this area with the initial flooded lower levels and such, but I had to carry my pawn through this room because she kept jumping into the brine.
>helmet and armor don't match
Does anyone have that image that shows recommended builds for endgame characters (which classes to go through at which levels)? I remember seeing it back in the console days, wanted to check on it again.
Remember to set the skills m8.
Or does nothing but looks matter on a pawn at level 200 to people? Are there any level 200s here that actually care about anything outside of looks on pawns? Do you hire sorc pawns?
Am I the only one severely disappointed with armor choices?
Clothing system is nice but overall, Dark Souls II, hell, even I, felt like it had a much better fashion game
Tips for a paladin look?
any tips on training a strider pawn?
downpour volley/fracture dart
i have been training him on and off and i am trying to train him to use the bow only for enemies he cant reach in melee. he really likes that fucking bow though.
is fracture dart worth it? ive found that in bbi he often gets stuck shooting fracture darts which promptly stick themselves into the ceiling and do nothing.
id like to make him focus on melee more, and essentially just spam brain splitter and downpour volley as much as possible.
any tips? i know 'teaching by example' is best, but can i reinforce this by basically just going to the everfall or something and spamming brain splitter until he picks up on it? should i take the bow away for a bit?
tell me about the Arisen, why does she wear the mask
Anybody else crashing to desktop when they equip the cursed king's belt?
>finally find a piece of armor that removes ugly waist band
>can finally roam the lands as a shirtless barbarian
>game immediately crashes every time I equip it
>Got ANOTHER greatsword from Ur.
God damn it. At least I got the golden mask and the MK shield as well.
I plan to main MK. I started fighter>warrior and have maxed both almost.
Is there any reason for me not to max the rest of the vocations, or atleast try them before hand?
I know some other vocations may have beneficial augments, but what does maxing all vocations really impact?
(CANT WAKE UP)
How the fuck am I supposed to beat this bastard?
Can someone do a search for my pawn? I think Capcom fucked me and she's not showing up to be hired.
>Vortex Sigil is enhanced with the ring
>Stone Forest is enhanced with the ring
>High Sopor is enhanced with the ring
>Holy Furor is enhanced with the ring
>Abyssal Anguish is not
the way i did it is training it and being challenger/mitigator
when there are flying enemies/boss is attacking she will attack with bow. When it is safe to attack she will brain splitter/ climb and thousand kisses
instead of fracture dart i use mighty bend
To the nice anon that tried to gift me a Dwells in Light. It must not have gone through. Only been rented by 3 people since this morning and only gifted it nor was your pawn's name in list of those 3 pawns that my pawn knows. Gandalf was it? I appreciate the gesture anyway but sadly that weapon is probably lost to the rift now.
>Explore a shit ton of places
>Loot is pratically the same, just that now i get some pots to remove debuffs everywhere
>Barely any weapon upgrade
>Same shitty ass 100, 1000, 3500 coins bags
>Every quest gives nothing important, probably only the Witch one at the beginning, but that's assuming the area it unlocks have good things
Godammit, should've just rushed the game and enjoyed Everfall/BBI.
Fuck you piece of shit
You cunts didnt believe me when i said GRACENOW
How much training through example is necessary to get a pawn on track? I'm an assassin with a sorc pawn and I'm willing to dip into sorc myself but I don't want to gimp my strength gains too badly.
If you need 29,000 DCP to reach rank 9 with a vocation, does that mean 29,000 DCP in total or 29,000 DCP since rank 8?
ok WHAT the FUCK
Why did nobody tell me about this fucking ferrystorne with UNLIMITED USES?
i LITERALLY just spent all of my gold on teleportation shit and then some faggot says there is an infinite one. This is bullshit
>2nd Ur kill
>3rd warrior weapon, 2nd MK shield, 2nd mage staff
>changed my pawn from fighter max rank to a strider rank 1
>tfw gonna lose opportunity for a lot of RC
Which vocation had the carry weight augment and at what level?
Also if "Hawk" (black female mage) is one of your guys pawn, love that thing
>inb4 don't use pawns
Who says this? The answer is, always, one that rounds out your playstyle and compensates for how much of a GLASS CANON you are?
Totem Mace, Angel's Fist, Lament Shield...
I like the bracers, but the rest is meh.
>friend sends me this
>it's his sorcerer
>his pawn isn't even good, first inclination is Guardian for example
>meanwhile my sorcerer is utilitarian/challenger/mitigator, which is pretty much perfect for one. He's been trained well and I've raised him well
>it's an "anon's ranger pawn has to try an be a warrior for fucking ever so he can get the stupid 20% strength upgrade" episode
Level 5 fighter, 20kg
You could have used the wiki you know
I dont have the game on PC yet, so here's an old one from consoles.
>literally just logged on
>been farming offline ur dragon
>accidentally walk into online ur dragon
>LOL ITS IN GRACE
>kill in 2 shots
>wakestones, angels fist, dwells in light, heavens key, ascalon, beowulf mask, abyssinal greaves, coat, bracers
it takes literal fucking years
Can anyone do me a favor and try renting my pawn?
I'm worried I might be shadow banned or something
since I used CE once to use the secret of metamorphasis
That and I've only gotten two hires which is surprising
because she's the best
Her name is Meat Wall, level 85 warrior
>That and I've only gotten two hires which is surprising
because she's the best
That alone shows that you're not shadowbanned, idiot.
No one summons her because:
a) She looks like an old hag
b) She's a Warrior
So I completely remade my rather generic Arisen and Pawn for NG+.
How does /ddg/ like my Elven prince and his Orcish bodyguard?
>killed shit in BBI for 8 hours straight
>killed awakened matt damon 4 or 5 times
>collect four lv. 3 weapons
>not a single fucking one was saguine stalk
then again i don't really need it because i wreck shit as it is but bane archstaff looks like shit
>taking a photo of your screen
Fucking hell this is freaking 2016, you could take fucking screenshots back in 2004, hell even earlier
I need some help here. I'm fighting the Living Amor in BBI Sparyard of Scant Mercy. I'm a level 66 Magic Archer with 785 STR and 835 Magick, equipped with Exploding Rivets, Sixfold Bolt, Ricochet Hunter, Grand Scension, Magick Rebalancer and Immolation.
The thing is, i can't deal damage to it. At all. All of my spells and attacks literally don't damage it. I can grab it from behind or grab it's head and attack it there with Immolation on to deal minimal chip damage but that's all. How the fuck am i supposed to kill this thing?
I'll only hire her if you agree that I can fap to her as she's wearing a thong and a bikini to show off her nice fat tits.
Promise me and I'll hire her
I'm sorry but I've formed a fucking fetish from this
Are you guys fucking retarded? What's with this min-maxing autism?
You can play the game without minmaxing EASILY, what the fuck. Just play whatever vocation you want.
Because you're playing the PC version.
This obviously didn't exist in the vanilla DD on consoles and was only added later on as DLC.
PC players got all the DLC for free, so.
Steam is/was down.
>>129135616 why did I post this in the last thread
OP pastebin guy I finally wrote the texture modding pastebin slightly less shittily and made it on an account so I can edit it whenever instead of having to repeatedly annoy you to stick it in your pastebin.
Also a while ago I updated the PS3 buttons mod (http://a.pomf.cat/ylgajz.rar in the pastebin) to also work with generic controls (PS4) and look nicer: http://a.pomf.cat/ebjqmt.rar
>Have to go investigate the man carvings on the mountain
Anything good going to happen?
Accessories don't have to match your outfit, they are best if they match one of your features and even contrast with the outfit. The cape matches her hair so it looks good. Please don't pretend to know fashion.
You're free to imagine whatever you want, though.
It's not really bigger, it just sticks out more because the guy is smaller. Also, magic.
Sounds like a job well done, then.
Right outfit's been doing well imo
>Not beating Urdy in grace while wearing a clown suit for easy dragonforging
>I shiggy diggy
I got so many people renting my pawn before shit was fixed but now I'm getting nothing. Anyone else know this feel?
It's fucking ogre bros
>no 6 skills for warrior mod
>someone mentioned that it would be impossible because players/pawns share the same skills. Changing players would change pawns and that would cause problems.
God fucking damn it
I guess I'm going to have to drop arc of deliverance for indomitable lunge
Do people really not hire warriors anymore?
I remember back on PS3 Uncle Dante was one of the most rented pawns, and he would shred everything to pieces as a warrior
So what do people actually go for besides mages?
well, I used to build my pawn for the sole purpose of being nigh indestructible and using taunts, hence the name. I guess I'll change it though if that's the impression other people get
Whoever made this guy, thank you. You made my evening.
So I just finished the game for the first time blind and am going to restart. Should I go Sorcerer or Assassin? My first play through was almost entirely mystic knight and those two look fun.
What do people generally look for in a healer mage pawn? Currently have this set up:
No rangs yet
Paired with these augments:
Utilitarian/Medicant of course
for people grinding DP using the royal quarter:
depending on how it works for your computer, you could alt tab without the game pausing
just turn your volume up
i use some shitty $20 logitech headphones and when i turn the volume up or down, it tabs the game out and shows the volume bar, but when i go back the game isnt paused. not sure if time progresses but give it a try
Okay if you guys want your pawn to be popular and wanted. You'll need to follow this guide
1.She either has to be a cute loli or a sexy young woman
2.HAS to be a mage or sorceress
3.Her outfit needs to MATCH and either cute or sexy (but with CLASS, not trashy)
4.If you pick a loli mage, she needs to be adorable with the correct loli voice or she's SHIT
5. Must have a really great face, if you suck at making faces then you're going to have a bad time
6.Use brown or white skin CORRECTLY, if she's too dark or too white then it just looks hideous
7.Name MUST be cute or be original, don't go crazy and call her something that just sounds retarded
With this guide, you'll make 9/10 or 10/10 pawns
if I want madeline's (apparently) expanded inventory post game but want selene as beloved... how the fuck will that work?
I'm supposed to get high affinity (which i already do) with madeline i think. pink aura and some noise, dunno if it's the right one.
Selene I got the achievement for max affinity right after completing her quest, though.
So, I've been playing Ranger through the vanilla game and started going through BBI. Just fighting my 2nd cursed dragon now and kind of want to switch out to Strider because I'm seeing where high damage melee opportunities are coming moreso than just tenfold spam. What dagger skills should I take on Strider aside from Brain Splitter? Is Reset worth using for splitter spam?
>have to follow NPC
>he walks slower than running speed but faster than walking speed
Why do games do this?
>Laptop can't run DD
> Everyone sharing pics of their characters
H-here's a pic of my Arisen and pawn...
I'll be playing the PS3 version, if anyone wants hires...
Remove that shit, it's useless.
She's gonna heal either way with Anodyne equipped, she doesn't need Medicant.
Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator is what you want on heal mages.
