>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

Would your arisen happen to be related to pic?
Rent Chocolator so I can fund his surgery to fix his waist
>4 stars on battle rating and helpfulness
>3 on appearance
I must fix my shieldmaiden
>main pawn drinks spring water like its nothing to heal the entire party like a responsible pawn
>meanwhile mage pawn is struggling between elemental buffs or healing while taking fucking forever to cast either
who else /taking sacred water for granted/?
Is there a way to tell a fucking pawn / follower to just stand fucking still? I have a follower on a quest in a fight I know I can easily win, but he keeps running in and dying like a retard.
I want to get rank 9 Sorc for my MK, but grinding this shit out is killing my soul.
Is there a trainer that lets me add a very specific amount of xp/rank without giving me max of everything?
>if you sequence break, this ogre has no idea what the fuck to do.
>finally try Gale Harness
wait, so is this, invisibility (with liquid vim), and hundred kisses just the mandatory setup, then?
or GH, True reset, HK normally.
Small Autohotkey script that improves the controls on PC.
Control+Alt+F will enable borderless fullscreen for 1920x1080 screens
F5 will save your game
M will open your map
C will open your equipment
J will open your quest log
Clicking the middle mouse button will send an F key press. Useful for archers.
No it fucking doesn't.
Why is it that you retards will stand on a wall and cast AOE spells on respawning enemies for 3 hours, yet saying giving yourself the perk you want kills the game.
Standing on a fucking wall brainlessly grinding to get the ONE perk you want takes way more fun out of the game.
QUICK, you're in the market for a Fighter Pawn. What skills do you look for the most?
What does a Fighter Pawn need to have for you to hire them?
Is Utilitarian a decent secondary inclination for a fighter pawn or does it do fuck all on non-caster vocations?
>Been fighting the UR-Dragon for a total of 2 hours now
>Can take of 50% of a single bar of health every encounter
>Next encounter he has his hp back
There are some stat gain modifications on the nexus if any of you want to avoid grinding classes to make the hybrid ones more fun to play in the end game.
There are some more scripts here that are much more advanced and you could combine them into one if you wanted.
Will this ever stop being fun? I don't think so.
>implying capcom wont put ever employee and department on sf5
>not saying its not possible, but odds are it'll just be a side project that wont get the attention and manpower it deserves, leading to a shitty game
Capcom is a lot bigger then you think
If you don't see accessing server in the top right, you went over, and the server didn't update it.
It also averages health of all the Ur-Dragons, and you might not get the same one every time.
>suddenly Metal Golem
>get all the discs but 1
>it's in a fucking tree
>tfw playing melee arisen
What the fuck? Such bullshit.
> Pick up DD again
> Want to do a fresh start
> Can't make a girl that doesnt look trans
Looks like I'll just have to steal from the OP...
>dragon's dogma on demwaifus
What? What a surprise, man.
Also, I have seen the scripts made by the other anon. I don't really like them. I don't really have a problem with the way the vanilla keys are set up, I just find it annoying that we don't have a quick access to our map, quest log, etc, which is why I made my own script for those hotkeys.
The anon who made the other scripts fucking hates the keyboard controls from what I've seen, which is why he has made hotkeys rebinding pretty much every button in the game.
Dragon's dogma window must be active and the game must be in windowed mode. The script's hotkeys only work if DD's window is active. If it's not, they don't work.
Didn't realize last thread was ded
What are the best inclinations for a mage pawn?
Does anyone know how the pawn system works if you switch out your save file to have an alt character? Am I safe to make an alt or will it fuck up my pawn somehow
>mfw pawn keeps casting ice buff when fighting snow harpies
>even though it's a secondary ability and fire buff is a primary
>and then bans anyone using them
No, just buy Secret.
If you switch out and rest, it'll upload the "new" pawn to servers and has the potential to erase your old one, thus fucking up your RC if anyone has it out on rent.
>comes back with a rock, 3 stars, and no rc
Maybe I should change how she looks.
If I get the metamorphosis thing from johnathon, can I restore the checkpoint if I fuck up, or does it hard save over the last checkpoint?
switch out thunder affinity for holy
Ok /ddg/, finally about to start playing this, but been debating playing a Sorc, only major issue is dealing with golems so I thought of making my pawn a Ranger. Would that combo work well together, and would starting her as a Fighter or Strider be better?
Don't mind me, just romancing the 8year old girl.
It's subspecies of enemies you've already met. So if you kill a goblin you get knowledge of hobgoblins, grimgoblins, goblin shamans, greater goblins but since you haven't met them they are "unknown"
reported you to the fbi
go double sorc for the faster spell casts and just hire what you need from a rift stone. that way your pawn actually learns how to use their class and you'll get good ratings.
When exactly is a good time to start BBI, because I haven't even seen the duke yet.
Even without the XP ring(which is easy to get) you can get the Asura armor and AFK your way to rank 9 in like 45 minutes. You dont need CE for anything in this game unless youre a bitch.
It let's you hit multiple times.
And still gives you a damage buff, because you retain your weapon enchant.
just from watching my main pawn whomp on shit:
downcrack is good, compass slash is good, cymbal onslaught is good, shield strike is something that seems like it should be good but is dogshit, launchboard is goofy, dragon's maw is alright but a pawn will eat through a pile of steaks spamming that shit
Its useful for skeletons and ghosts and shit. If you're out at night, its useful. Useless is a bit of an overstatement.
I don't give a shit about the story.
MK shield is on your back until you press the button to activate it.
Your initial hit is based on the enchantment you have on, but the extra hits are dark magick damage.
Better than nothing when climbing but you're not taking out 20~30% healthbar with each encounter.
Anybody want to hire her and give me feedback on whether or not she's a retard
>mfw they mod in a 2nd set of skills for warrior and i can finally use ladder blade and teach my pawn how to throw me up to chests and shit
try not to get all salty about it
So my pawn is a Ranger, and I'm a Mystic Knight. I read that Pawns learn better if they see the player do something themselves, so I was considering two things.
I was thinking of switching to Magic Archer and trying to show him things that way. Will that work or do I have to specifically be a Ranger like he is?
Also, will my stats make me useless as a Magic Archer? I've played Mystic Knight up to like Lv.80
Its better than fire on both of those. Fire and Holy are the only 2 worthwhile enchants in the game.
Identify cursed items you get in BBI, which is the top tier gear.
I got this. Your pawn was very powerful and proficient in battle, but they kept wandering off and fighting completely different groups of enemies.
I mean it's great that your pawn single handedly killed every goblin in Devilfire Grove alone, but everyone else was off fighting this Drake here.
Do you not now how Anguish works?
It's an 8:3 ratio of magic to strength. Even if it does 75% of the dark damage to Ur, it's still hitting 3-5 times with that the extra physical.
It can increase you damage a shit ton, which you can see since two swings to stagger went to six. That's triple damage.
On top of that, it doesn't matter if you do 20 - 30% because that'll go over the damage limit and the server won't update.
And Great Cannon spam is boring to be desu senpai.
Yeah but having two sorcerers means I either give up any form of healing or am gimped at physical attacks doesn't it? Sorc just seems like the type that you only use one of because the others keep enemies off of them while they cast.
There's not really anything wrong with High Anodyne/Spellscreen but Medicant primary can be annoying.
Your pawn will tend to cast healing spells in the middle of a battle. If you flip those and put Utilitarian first then they'll cast enchantments/buffs more often instead of wasting their time healing tiny slivers of health.
>He jumped off on his own.
That happened to me too. I usually hate fighting that fucking Cyclops, but this time around as I was running up the trail and he was like a kilometer away, he looked over the cliff, did his jumping stomp attack and catapulted himself off the mountain.
It was ridiculous. I feel as though this is a bug.
>love the longbow
>love the semi-balanced stat growth and fucktons of stamina
>feel like it's only good skill unique to it is 10fold shot
please prove me wrong /vg/ I want to have more fun with ranger.
why is picking a yellow class so complicated they all have at least one really great thing
I could turn it off with a press of a button but the lens effects are really cool so I deal with it.
Reminder that you can min max by just switching vocations before you level up
>mfw all videos blocked
why even have the fucking channel then?
oh i get, they have it to share clips of the songs with their fans
but only if you live in japan
if you dont then get fucked
What augments are a must have for a physical based class? I've got:
Sinew - Increases the weight that you can carry by 20kg, and increases the weight needed to go from all weight burden categories up to the next.
Vehemence - Strength is increased by 1.1 times.
Endurance - Increases your maximum stamina by 100.
Arm-Strength - Halves the Stamina consumed when you cling to objects or climb terrain or monsters.
Ferocity - Increases damage dealt from your Core Skills by 10%.
Temerity - Halves the damage taken while charging an attack.
Impact - Improves your ability to knock down opponents with physical attacks.
Clout - Increases Strength by 20%.
Proficiency - Reduces the Stamina consumed when you perform a physical weapon-skill by 25%. Does not affect bows.
I figure Sinew, Vehemence, Ferocity and Clout are must haves. What should my other 2 be? did I miss any?
More like 25%
I fucking love Anguish dude, but climbing attacks without Hundred Kisses or Dire Gouge are bland and boring to me.
To each its own, the feeling of scoring a perfect block while positioned to rain death with your cannon is still great to me.
Maybe because I don't use the easier blocking augment.
>my over-leveled and under-equipped warrior pawn still gets rents
I'm 100% convinced it's because she's a cutiepie
And how exactly do I flip them? I used an Elixir to get Utilitarian, but couldn't figure out how to replace the main.
Also my pawn doesn't seem to really heal until 50% life in combat, or any amount out of combat. It's also pretty good about positioning right now, and doesn't stack attacks while certain effects are in place. (casted high ingle on head, then just used blasts)
Add me if you want me to take your pawn through BBI http://steamcommunity.com/id/illuzionofdeath/
I come here every day to check and see if a mod has been made to have 6 warrior skills.
Are ogres just made of some tough shit or what?
Level like 23 or something running through the ancient quarry. They beat me up a lot, I'm not proud of the amount of curatives I used.
and yet immediately afterward I shredded two armored cyclopses and a chimaera with little difficulty
I'm an assassin and I got a Sorceror to even me out so I have some magic.
However, I've noticed that he's copying me by getting near enemies and grabbing them and shit a sorceror should not be doing.
I'm considering changing him into a strider even though he's had about 27 levels as a Mage/Sorceror.
Should I switch him to Strider or should I keep him as a sorceror?
If I should keep him as a sorceror, how do I fix him without playing as a sorceror myself?
Thanks in advance.
Just finished lost and found.
I distinctly remember fighting this golem and going back there on the console version. Guess you do that later.
>5 stars across the board on my pawn
>someone gives me 3x3
>now 4 stars across the board
I alt tab and put windows on top of it. How, or why, do you expect to minimize a borderless window though?
Here's an AHK script that will minimize anything though:
;Press right alt to minimize the game
I use it for shitty games that won't minimize for whatever reason, like Ground Zeroes.
I want something to rebalance hard mode on top of those.
>tfw none of them will happen
Already fucked up. I didn't remember any of this idol business since it's been ages since I played. Fucking cunt gave me an empty flask so that she wouldn't be considered a skin flint.
I still think my time in the dungeon wasn't justified.
Now I have to choose who gets the bronze idol and who gets the silver idol. Man, I am salty.
>no big ass thundercloud releasing a single colossal exploding thunderbolt with deafening thunder as 3rd tier electricity magic
My only gripe with this game's magic
It would have been so perfect
Bastion is pretty nice, you should have it unlocked since you have Warrior. The rest depends on which physical class you're using. If you're an Assassin I'd definitely say grab Proficiency for Kisses/Gouge spam.
>cursed dragon shows up in Tower of Treasons Repaid
>I'm a magick archer so I just spam explosive rivet while my main pawn skull splits them for massive damage
>cursed dragon is at very low health
>fires off possession breath
>I didn't know it was a possession breath
>main pawn dissappears
>go deliver the final blow
>get instant killed by a fire enchanted cloudburst volley
If you use daggers jump on the face and uses thousand on them. Any time you get an opening to jump on the face do it. I fight them with 0 mages and completely rape them on any difficulty at any level like this.
Just updated Lillian on the pawn list, she should be number 103.
She is a sorc and I've never had a sorc pawn before, would like someone to see if she's good and would also like some riftbux.
She hasn't been to BBI, but it would help me if you did so she has some knowledge for when I go.
>mfw I sleep at an inn and I don't get a "your pawn has returned" message
they're right though, the worst sin you can commit when you're a musician is letting people listen to your music
dragon's maw, full moon slash, blitz strike
in that order
Remember when we all thought Deep Down was Dragon's Dogma 2?
>real-time game footage
Now that I think about it maybe it is DD2 and they've been rusing us for years. That would explain why it's not out yet.
>obliterating bunnies with a greatsword for a quest
I'm sorry ;__;
I've got my Arisen wearing Mercedes armor for funsies until I can get some decent Knightly armor, but I was thinking I might put it on my Pawn when I rest at Inns to make her more appealing. Ignore that she's a Warrior, she's only one for muh Clout and then it's back to Fighter.
What do you think, which one looks better? Would you rather hire an Amazon or a Knight?
If I take the daggers away from my ranger pawn, will they use the bow more or will they attempt to punch the enemy?
Right now I have her Challenger/Mitigator and I think the 3rd is utilitarian, but she charges into battle with her daggers more often than I'd like.
>get a 1 star appearance rating and a skull
>5 stars for the other two categories
t-thanks I guess
where are you in the game?
If you're in BBI, that's to be expected since there's a ton of instant kills that can't be saved, be it Brine, pitfalls, Death or Exequy from Liches and Maneaters.
If you're around lvl 30, then some people will hire your pawn to Soulflayer Canyon, and that's pretty much suicide canyon for pawns
i'd rather a ranger just be equipped with barbed nails or some shit and knockdown that way
i honestly am seldom able to tell the difference when im running with a ranger using crippling arrow
>have killed devilfire gorge drake 4 times
>every piece of gear is 3 star
>no dragon forged
I guess i'm just getting unlucky?
anyway the fight would be fun if there wasn't 30 goblins who apparently made a pact with the drake to rape my dick
>Implying it isn't still Dragon's Dogma II
The delays are because the game is dropping PS4 exclusivity and will be on Xbone, PS4, and PC.
Sounds like you don't want to be a MK, and this is a stupid fucking question. Sorcerer/Mage gain 5/4 Matk per level. Warrior/Fighter gain 2, Strider/Ranger gain 3. Add on to that you won't have Articulacy (rank 9 Sorcerer Augment) that reduces your cast times.
I mean, I'm not part of the min/max crowd who thinks you have to go 190 levels in Sorcerer, but yeah that's going to be a shitty MK. Besides, if you think Sorcerer/Mage is boring due to cast times you'll probably find MK boring too because you do an awful lot of casting for the really awesome skills.
They can be useful. Lassitude can make a world of a difference. Miasma can be good damage. Petrify is debatable, but I've managed to petrify a few eliminators before. One thing that would make them very effective is wearing the adept hat, the wide-brimmed pointy wizard hat, as it lets the clouds linger for longer. What I find they're most useful for is rusted staves, since they turn the clouds into guaranteed torpor zones over a reasonable area. They're much faster than nukes, too.
>got a brick instead of a rock
Is this what bliss feels like
>5 star ratings in all categories
>given a wakestone shard
>ranked like 800
this feels good!
Hey guys, just wanted to drop in and say that I seriously hope you vote with 1 star in appearance every loli pawn.
You don't, really.
But that's alright- you shall soon go on the path of the wizard as I did.
And it will be glorious.
>deep down is Dragon's Dogma 2
It's going to be completely different and closer to a souls game. There's actual player co-op and you go into the past ala a not-animus from asscreed
How do you get giant amounts of Discipline Points
I need them for everything
>hear all these people whine about getting rekt by skeles and bandits and wolves and shit
>play as a warrior
>they literally just bounce off of me
>mage/ranger pawns i hire get fucked by them though
I should have made my Arisen or pawn Helck
>pc modding community
>0x Rent warrior pawn
I still love him and
Gutswill always be my tag-team bro
The set is actually just for my Arisen, but I don't think it looks bad on my Pawn and I feel like it probably looks more attractive than ripped up leathers.
But I dunno, just asking other people for their thoughts because it's all up to the people renting.
I actually made her and named her Gwen without ever thinking of Brienne and Gwendoline Christie. I picked the hair because I hate all of the long hairs in DD and that one seemed to fit.
Then like 5 minutes later all the connections got made.
If I can find some sweet heavy armor that shows off muscles, I definitely would. But I kinda want her to look more Knightly and less Red Sonja. At least right now.
>nothing but lolis and elves with shit inclinations
I don't even rate them, I just toss them in the brine when I'm done with them.
What's the reccomended strat for the fight in BBI against the white lich who raises a necro dragon?
Because I've been running around great cannoning to try and damage him while the dargon drives his rotten lizard prick into my pawns' buttholes
Personally, I never hire pawns with the full armor sets. They're just way too... uniform. Especially the princess dresses. I wouldn't mind seeing a pawn with Salvation Robes or some other armor set that isn't constantly used.
Speaking of which, has anyone seen a dickass jester pawn?
You gain DCP as you gain XP. The lower the amount of XP gained from a single kill, the higher the percentage of DCP you make.
So killing low XP enemies will yield you a higher percentage DCP, but still significantly less DCP than a single high XP enemy.
Basically, kill a fuck load of bats and you'll get more DCP before levelling than if you killed a fuck load of Cyclops.
That is for you to figure out by yourself, young apprentice.
Seek the light of gains-
And gains shall soon find you.
Are you fucking kidding me
This is being sacrificed to the Brine
I'm gonna finish stage 4 now. Don't want to do the rest while underpowered.
I was shooting valmiro in the face and he was just twitching, not screaming or running or anything like that. Wasn't sure if the game was glitching or not. Did it like three times and then he went into the most dramatic death animation I've ever seen. Like the bohemian that he is. But yeah he's just laying there dead. My quest for him didn't fail, but I'm still paranoid. Considering reloading just to be safe.
12 hours well spent...
iirc I'm close to the end of bbi
wew lads, just killed this fucker. Was a pretty intense fight for my ranger, ended up having a sliver of health.
I've read that this isn't even his final form. How much harder is that one?
If you're talking about "Perpetuation" (enchantments last longer) then it doesn't work on MK Ripostes or Abyssal Anguish.
I always take Articulacy over Perpetuation since it works on every MK skill with a cast time and I don't really do enchants on my MK (I have a mage for that shit).
>tfw 0 RC and a rock from first rent since the fix
5 stars though
Reload or drag his ass to the health springs.
You can just sheathe and unsheathe your weapon in front of people to lower affinity. You can especially carry someone and that will lower it
Full Moon Slash is a reversal. You can use it after being hit and staggered, which you cannot do with Hindsight or Dragon's Maw. You can even use it after being zapped by lightning to avoid collapsing on the floor.
Also, Dragon's Maw spam only works on casual mode. On Hard mode it uses up too much stamina.
Full Moon Slash is the best shit ever.
>Personally, I never hire pawns with the full armor sets
Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I want to get rid of this as soon as I can get my hands on proper armour. I was just sick of staring at my Arisen in ugly brown rags.
I restarted when the pawn system was fixed, so I've been staring at low level gear for way too long now.
That is simply the power of wizardry.
And high bolide.
>That great feel when people clearly liked your pawn and used it for a while
at 200 levels in anything you have beat the game, but yeah if you wanted maximum damage that would be it
realistically start mage, go sorceror to rank 9, and then switch to MK. if you want to go to level 200 then switch between MK and sorceror whenever the mood takes you
Anyone mind giving her a rent and seeing how she does? 26 scather
I'm a big fan of tatters for some of my characters. But, the sets are good for just throwing something on your characters when you don't want to worry about it for a while, that's true. I'm pretty sure you can get some decentish stuff from Reynard early on though if you initiate his quest by doing that annoying thing of buying shit from him ten separate times.
Anyone looking for a competent Ranger? She's not extraordinary yet, but she's getting there. And at the very least it is another loli riftslut.
Level 31 Challenger/Scather
I had one that was worse the other day. Really, really badly trained too, was a complete retard, just ended up killing it off by feeding it to the Saurians off the cliffside.
A high magic stat on Magick Archer is just overkill. You're not even that far into the game and Strider has decent stat growth anyway so you'll not be lacking much if you do decide to change.
Does sending equipoment over pawn renting not work?
Thank you anon.
This was him before gains.
Scrawny, pitiful... so sad looking. Thankfully that time is behind us.
Oh my fuck
Was thinking of making a mystic knight, but im not sure what to do with my pawn
Should i leave him as an idiot while i have fun as MK, or should i play as my pawns class for a while
You'll be fine. I went Fighter > Strider > Assassin and changed to Mystic Knight at around level 85ish. I'm level 97 now and can kill Eliminators in like 2-3 ripostes without BBI gear.
r8 my arisen
I was trying to make an anime version of myself then gave up halfway and made him look a like a bearded Jonathan from SMT4 who I look a bit like when I grow my hair anyway
I've been swapping out for better and better gear, is that normal or should I just stick with gear I like?
I had gear I really preferred the look of but I sold it it a while ago.
I think it was just a combination of stuff I can buy though.
Also, what skills should I be using as an assassin?
And I've bought skills I ended up not liking and likely missed out on others, will I get enough points to buy all the assassin skills or should I be more careful?
i have this strange glitch where i cannot cast any spells with my left mouse button because they get stuck casting, and also when i have my staff equipped it does the particles on like im channeling the power attacks even when the staff is on my back. Ive changed professions and equipment and the spells for my left click always get stuck. All other spells work fine. anyone have any idea how to fix this?
The player name is ironic, because I had all but given up.
I'm level 66. Most of the pawns I've seen have been normal. Few loli's, few elves. I've also seen very few brown girls. I don't know why I'm not seeing these infestations some people claim.
Sorry mate, I already am a Ranger training my own Ranger pawn.
For what it's worth though your pawn is a real cutie. One of the better ones I've seen.
They're probably taking them on a very long adventure, anon.
So do I have to complete BOTH the female and male bandit quests to get credit for the Hero achievement?
It seems very vague, and since the goals in them are to kill the other camp is it even possible to do them both?
WITH A FUCKING E
I was inducted into this endless cycle of suffering in ages past.
>75% of the time my pawn comes back with an actual rating, it's battle and helpfulness are maxed
>Appearance ranked much lower
She's cute, everyone else is wrong. At least with all the rents I get I know she's really helpful in battle.
Holy, my friend.
Dark is heresy and not of the ways of the muscle wizard.
its more things like, if you hit an enemy in the head theyll know the head is the weak point or if you use dark against an enemy theyll know theyre weak to dark. has nothing to do with what class you play its just they learn how to fight specific enemies.
>escorting Ser Maximillian
>use Portcrystal and Ferrystone in my escrot missions always in case a huge monster appears or need to rest to recover HP
>shit goes down and chimera + bandits
>panic, set port crystal and use ferrystone
>oh well whatever maybe you can't use the ferrystone when the npc is down or the boss music starts playing
>return with ferrystone, Maxmilian reappears
>quests continues like nothing happened
Probably wont return your pawn until tomorrow lad but so far its the best strider/ranger ive had on pc and it dont look like shit which is a +
Remember to give your loli pawn a good kick, /ddg/!
I FUCKING LOVE SORCERING YOU FUCK
I JUST CANNOT STAND THE "WORD" SORCEROR
>the fucking Daimon grab attack
>dodge away, I'm behind his foot
>dodge into the attack, I'm kissing his nails
>you dodged it
>Holy or dark what?
Fethin HOLY OR frackin DARK!
I've got holy on my tower shield, thought it'd be cool for some dichotomy, but I'm just curious which one has more utility on weapons.
This makes me feel great. Keep her as long as you want
Post-dragon? Yeah. You can afk farm that shit with pawns. You can take pawns a few levels lower than you to get closer to 100xp if you want. When I did it with same level was getting 80xp, but still didn't take too long. The things that double xp supposedly also double the dcp you get
