I'm gonna run FunkyCIA2 again with a newer make_cdn_cia just to see if it presents the errors I got last time. I doubt it, because I believe it was just a certificate error (don't think I dumped a ctk file) and I don't think it affects anything other than "legit" installs.

Did the whole theme-button thing, still can't install themes. Do you do anything other than shove them into the themes folder?I have them each with their own subfolder

If I want to install something on EmuNand, I choose EmuNand instead of SD, even if its not a game, right? Also, does anyone have a .cia of BigBlueMenu?

Been able to check my system screen and it says RX 9.2.0-20U. However, when I exit out, and check it again it gets stuck on the Nintendo 3DS black and red screen. The boxes are still moving, it's just not getting out of the loading screen.

So i'm working on making a custom theme, and so far everything was going swell.
But then I imported it into Howling and the music won't play when I preview it. It's a bcstm file converted through YATA+ and it's only 1.8 MB, no different than the other themes I have that do have working music in the preview, but it's just not playing for mine.
Did I do something wrong, or is the issue on Howling's part and not mine?

It's just a matter of personal preference, actually. You could argue that after setting up emuNAND you'll never have to use sysNAND again, but I enjoy using both and messing around with multiple emuNANDs and stuff like that, so from my point of view it's better like this. If you don't mind using both, then there's no problem really, and if you do, you can just recreate your emuNAND from scratch. It really only depends on what you want.

Not without updating, no. If you're on a higher FW, yes. SD card support above 2GB was added in a patch. You can hack at any FW, so it kind of doesn't matter if you update.

Older homebrew will not work with it, though, because the libraries are different and may not support SDHC cards.

Anyone have any good guides for injecting roms into VC games? Specifically for NES games? The handful of NES injected roms I grabbed look blurred as shit, like the aspect ratio is slightly off. Yeah, you should probably just buy a bigger SD card. A lot of games are around 1.7-1.9GB. You can probably only fit a single Mario or Zelda game on there.

You can delete NAND.bin and emuNAND.bin if you still have them on your SD card. Just make sure they're somewhere safe on your computer.

If you're nip or yuro then there's no real reason to stay on the old model. You can get the tasty black small n3ds.

It's annoying in USA because we can really only get the n3dsXL (shit ppi = great for emu, shit for 3ds games). They have the animu crossy road edition in small, and the upcoming pokumon ones but they appear to all be in white. Guys yesterday I did all the downgrading/emunand/etc shit in my old 3ds and worked like a charm.
The thing is this: I had my old "legal" games on bkup on my pc (copypasted the whole card before attemping the hack). Is there a way to move them to my now emunand card (I formated it)? Or a tutorial to do it somewhere?

so should I use howling theme tool? It'd be nice to install themes as .cia files and access them from the default theme changer, but some anons are saying the themes get messed up.

Where should I get the 9.2.0 Files for 3DS? The one in first downgrade pastebin just soft bricks my system every time I use it, and if I use one from 3dsiso's it wont even try to downgrade

yea properly supporting 10.x is such a fucking excuse, its funny how 9.6+ reinand doesnt actually use FIRM 10.2 and uses FIRM 9.6 which means reinand will have to be updated again for 10.4+.

Now can we stop this shitposting, if you like custom patches and easier cheats cakes is better, if you like region free (except dlc) go rxtools, in the end they both have basically equivalent feature set and useability.

And to note the 10.3 support in all the beta (yes their beta) versions of reinand and cakes dont have the support apps working on 10.3 N3DS (like ntr, rip your fates dlc) anyway, and the cuck who makes ntr is so slow rxtools will have 10.2+ before he updates.

Yeah, I've got both an o3ds (small) and an n3dsXL.

The PPI is sort of tangental (same # of pixels anyways, and actually makes integer scaled DMG, GBA games playable), but really it's about pocketability.

My o3ds fits comfortably in the pocket of my jeans so I can carry it around with me all day at work and play it on my breaks. The n3ds still fits in my sweatpants pockets for around the house, but does not feel comfortable in "outside" clothes.

Since you're a homebrewfag the n3ds extra speed is worth it so you can run real emulators full-speed and not get cucked by dated Blargsnes. Other than that it's kind of a shame that nintendo hasn't really done ANYTHING for the 99% of the install base that isn't pirating.

It's worth keeping the small n3ds in mind if pocketability is important to you
