-Menu/Iron/Browserhax all work on the latest firmware again! DON'T DELAY in getting Homebrew.
-memchunkhax2 is a kernel11 exploit that allows downgrading to 9.2, and works on every firmware including 10.3.
>Is downgrading safe?
Things are going pretty well. Some bricks are simply people using the wrong firmware. Be sure you understand the risks.
-A libkhax variant of mch2 sysUpdater compiled by julian20 implements the safest settings so far
-Getting the downgrader to even start can require many tries, especially with New 3DS. Opening and closing an FTP app supposedly helps.
-Blank screen can be caused by Menuhax. Try pulling your SD card if you get it. Boot, reinsert, change theme.
-Apparently, the Wii U and 3DS use the same fucking keys... LOL
-Hykem is being weird.
-Linux can run on PS4. Thanks /g/.
-Cobra Black Fin was announced. http://wololo.net/2015/12/07/cobra-black-fin-an-upcoming-dongle-to-play-ps-vita-isos/
-A Vita update got released, you might not want to update since it fixes the email exploit.
Posting in every thread I can
For all you fucks who love Cow Tits May , a kind anon updated Star Sapphire 1.3 with the mod. (Busty May)
I'm just spreading the love around.
This is STAR Sapphire, its basically Hardmode Pokemon, Gym leaders play out like competitive battles, and you'll lose to trainers if you ain't ready, EV training is vital.
Also E4 is all level 100.
currently following this guide
>Your CIA manager is already installed there if you did this right, since you installed FBI before creating an emuNAND. Once that's done, you might want to make an emuNAND backup as well. This is next to the option you selected before for dumping sysNAND to a file.
After completing the EmuNAND Setup
I need go back to EmuNand Manager options and dump emunand to Emunand.bin right?
Roguelikes on O3DS?
Also, is it true that N3DS games can run on 03DS?
Have a reaction pic for your troubles.
>download game through mega
>think its a different game being slow downloading
>immediately recognize my mistake
does this look right?
i dont want my shit to get bricked
>Also, is it true that N3DS games can run on 03DS?
Are you some kind of stupid?
Pretty sure THIS is Star Sapphire anon.
>i wasnt there during gwg and early hbg
It will be lower once people update past 10.3. Don't worry.
I guess you already know about the 3DS MD ones, right? The DS had some more, counting the Shiren games and Izuna, but as far as I know there's nothing else on the 3DS
So for error 022-2634.
I have to wipe everything again?
Could someone explain to me the steps I have to take? How come NONE of the guides mention logging out of your NNID before you backup your emuNAND to avoid this error? Come on, guys, someone add it up there.
What do I have to do exactly, wipe the emuNAND and resave it?
Is there an easier way? Christ.
>transferred data over to a new SD Card, formatted and everything
>emuNAND tool doesn't detect my emuNAND on either of the SD Cards
Am I fucked or lucky or something or should I just go ahead and start the pirating process?
I'm running CakesFW on 9.2 with my N3DS. I keep hearing anons are bricking while updating to 9.5, so is there something they are missing? Isn't there a 9.5 firmware bin for cakes? Couldn't THAT be causing it?
>Forgot sysUpdater exists.
>Downgrade to 4.5 to use mset.
I don't mind but, is menuhax coldboot worth all the hassle?
This sounds like a shitpost but I'm genuinely wondering why anyone would actaully say to use it? It really does only get to the menu in about 1 in 3 or 4 tries. (For me at least).
I'm getting a new SD card next Friday, and I don't know how to move data from my old SD card to the new one. Anyone have a guide, or just give me some guidance on what I should do? Am I screwed since the firmware update is coming next Monday?
Calm down, it's easy and not too time consuming
1) Backup emunand and backup its folder in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/ (easier method: add a _ or something at the end of the folder so you don't have to copy it off your SD card, OR cut/paste it to the root of your SD card)
2) Go in emunand system settings, pick system format
3) Let it do its thing
4) Log into your NNID on newly formatted emunand
5) Restore emunand backup and put its folder back in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/
Persaonally on step 4 I logged in via the settings (into my old NNID) and then opened eshop. I don't think opening eshop is needed, but it might be who knows, so I'd suggest doing that, it adds about 3 mins to the method max.
It really should be mentioned in the guides though.
Plus rxTools runs out of region games without faffing around. There is literally no reason to use cake other than to be a special snowflake.
Alright update, it works now but you have to set timeout to 0. Works beautifully now and if i ever need to enter the pink screen ever again i guess i'll just edit the cfg file real quick, but i doubt there will ever be a need for that.
Why does my rxt00ls menuhax boot only reach emunand 75% of the time (Tested, 8/10 times I could access emunand, the latter 2 tries resulted in a black screen)? ;_;7. Anyone else have this issue? Maybe I borked something up.
>Now you'll want to edit your boot.cfg file. Since we're using Cakes instead of rxTools, but we still have Pasta and the homebrew launcher, let's just overwrite the entry for rxTools with one for Cakes. IT should look something like this
>title = "CakesFW";
>path = "/Cakes.dat";
>offset = "0x12000";
I've been following the pastebin but I'm not sure what to do here. I don't think I even have rxTools.
>starts up automatically unless I hold a button
>Can no longer select a theme (using Tinker 1.0.2) Which I know worked before but now doesn't
How come when I use it to select a theme it no longer applies it to EmuNand? Only significant thing I've done since was (after unlinking Nands) updated EmuNand to 10.3. I'm afraid to go into the actual menu thing since I think that'll kick me out of menuhax and I'll have to do it over.
Also, having some trouble cold booting into CFW, I'm following the instructions but once I did, menuhax no longer even autobooted, much less right into the CFW.
Nope. The current CFW's just seem unstable as all fuck. I'm running cakes and it's even worse, you can expect to reset 3-4 times per time it'll show its menu, and even then it has a chance to just blackscreen when you try to "boot CFW".
So, from what I understand, I can't use devmode on rxtools 2.6, thus, I can't inject FBI to sysNAND and then install GBA games on it, correct? So I need 3.0 or a nightly build?
anons, recommend games to me.
pic related are games i already have
Alright then it should be fine, but I'm not using official themes either way, unless they're going to show up there from now on (for some reason?) I don't know why Tinker (or the other software) isn't allowing a theme on EmuNand.
Ok a few questions:
>Backup emunand and backup its folder in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/
I can do this with EMUNAND9, right? If so could you tell me where I have to go in there to do it so I don't mess it up?
After that, I boot cakes into emunand and do system format.
You realize I'm on 10.3 already? That means I'll have to downgrade all over again?
That is time consuming
and after that log into NNID on my formatted emunand
then I go into emunand9 and replace it?
Isn't the emuNAND the partition made onto the SD? Won't I have to format it over again?
Sorry if I'm confused with your steps, I just want to understand.
>>127930858 L.O.O.K A.T T.H.I.S. C.U.C.K A.N.D. .L.A.U.G.H.G.Y
Breakout clone with lolis.
What rxTools should I be going with on n3ds-xl provided I want it both to actually work and not have a shit success rate, and to run it with ctr. Both my amuNAND and sysNAND are still 9.2.
This image is so fucking dated it's not even funny.
>use cubic ninja or njhax to run cfw
Literally fuck all you niggers that told me to read this.
No respect for people who dont hack their own stuff. I understand why they're scared but you gotta do it on your own or you won't understand how anything works and will have to run back to the tech guy whenever you want to install a new game.
Gameplay wise yeah, if you like jobs system this game is heaven. And later on it really pushes your ability to craft a game-breaking team, it's fun. Story wise you ought to be ok, cause the overall resolution is very satisfying.
Also the OST is goddamn amazing.
Is there a full translation on monster hunter x yet?
or at least, is there a cia with the most translated?
Okay, so my n3ds boots to ctrbootmanager then to cake when I turn it on, but when I click on Boot cfw it boots up ctrbootmanager again. Is that meant to happen? I was hoping I'd go into my emuNAND homescreen.
thanks found it, here's the link for anyone too lazy to look it up
3DS and 3DSXL firmware are interchangable
The rest is either stupidly simple or in the first lines of whatever guide you are using.
Looks like I lost my saves.
(On your SD card there's a folder called Nintendo 3DS. Go into that folder, then into the folder with a lot of letters and numbers, and then once again into the second gibberish folder. Once there, create a new folder titled 'dbs' and drag the files from dbs.zip inside.)
Can I recover them if I replace the files on the dbs folder with the same files that I saved before formatting?
>The rest is either stupidly simple or in the first lines of whatever guide you are using.
The guide I'm using just says to "use the right one".
I'm going to give every single one of you retards who can't figure this out the most useful resource around. I used this whenever I couldn't figure out what to do:
www.google.com you fucking idiots
Honestly I don't know shit about technology, I'm just really good at following instructions, researching why things aren't working and being affable enough that people don't mind spoonfeeding me.
Alright so menuhax is safe, I can access the official theme changer just fine in sys and emuNand, but I still can't install themes onto Emunand from the custom theme manager I use anymore, I don't know what I did for this to stop.
Eh I guess it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
i can intall fbi and games on sysnAND but not on emunAND (says installation failed) what do i do bros? i can play shovel knight just fine but ive been told not to use sysnand.
If possible help, i am retarded
Looks like I lost my saves.
>(On your SD card there's a folder called Nintendo 3DS. Go into that folder, then into the folder with a lot of letters and numbers, and then once again into the second gibberish folder. Once there, create a new folder titled 'dbs' and drag the files from dbs.zip inside.)

Are you still there? I don't understand how I can back up my entire emuNAND before system formatting by moving one folder around.
You need to clarify your directions.
COULD SOMEONE GIVE A DETAILED FIX ON HOW TO FIX ERROR 022-2634
IS THE PROBLEM THE EMUNAND OR THE SYSNAND!?
>It really does only get to the menu in about 1 in 3 or 4 tries. (For me at least).
Then don't use it. For me cakes works every time. The only thing that fails every once in a while is menuhax.
Cakes is recommended for New 3DS. O3DS should use rxtools.
They both do the job.
That bit is handled by BootNTR, but it works fine.
If you're in sysNAND it will only run while Pasta is running.
Use a different method for getting FBI.
>I need go back to EmuNand Manager options and dump emunand to Emunand.bin right?
Yes. Then just backup that file on your computer.
I'll give you a hint: others are not affected by your issue
rename the 3dsx-build folder to FTP-3DS
>How come NONE of the guides mention logging out of your NNID before you backup your emuNAND to avoid this error? Come on, guys, someone add it up there.
My guide mentions that you should use TinyFormat on sysNAND to avoid that issue
>is menuhax coldboot worth all the hassle?
also you can downgrade mset separately from your firmware y'know
It doesn't install to health and safety if you do it that way, just to your menu
if you successfully install it just move on to emunand9
You can't get it anymore.
nothing in this whole scene seems to work perfectly
It's heavily outdated. Use this: http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji
Just use MiniPasta from the homebrew launcher instead of dev mode.
I'm thinking of putting up a craigslist ad to do this for people. It'll be especially profitable if I do it after 10.3 browser gets blocked. I have OoT3D so I could still do it.
your only option is 3.0 if you want rxTools on an N3DS
there's nothing you can do to get a good success rate, the issue is menuhax, not the cfw
No, just use BootNTR.cia when you want to play it. This was covered in the guide.
Stop shitposting please.
How could FBI get faster? .cia installs are bottlenecked by the CPU
are you using 2.6 or 3.0?
tried following a paste, but it talks about cake, and im on rxtools
I just got an o3ds on 3.0.0-5U.
Is there anything I can do on here that I can't do on 9.2?
I'm not afraid of the upgrade to 10.3 -> downgrade to 9.2 as I've already done it on 2 other 3ds.
My main goal is a coldboot to pirated games, like I've already accomplished on my n3ds.
>I didn't the N was new.
>I thought it might mean Nintendo.
Fuck man that's as dummed down as I can get it.
You don't need to downgrade again, no idea why you even think that. Formatting the emunand will keep it at 10.3 and that's what you want.
Please stop shouting and using those fucking images, my hate for you is growing.
>Getting CIA file informations...
>main.cpp:148: Result: 0xD900182F
>Failed to get CIA file info!
Does anyone have a fix for this?
New 3DS, 10.3, TuxSH's sysupdater, Windows 7, default DNS.
I just bought a N3DS as an upgrade, so that I can fool around with my O3DS worry-free. I'm going to system transfer (first time doing so), but I have one concern. On my 03DS I went ahead and did browserhax/menuhax, as per the first step in the downgrading guide. Is that going to effect the system transfer to my N3DS? Will my N3DS freakout because menuhax is on it?
I actually expected this was going to happen right when I saw someone calling the New 3DS "N3DS". It's dumb, come on. Just write it New 3DS or New alone or something, make it clear.
are you using 2.6 or 3.0?
honestly have no idea, i was trying different builds that didnt crash and asked an anon for help and gave me this
Man all you have to do is awnser my questions here >>127932639 I'm sorry if this is my first time and it's still hard for me to grasp what is it I'm doing to my 3DS.
Could you tell me how I back up the emuNAND with EMUNAND9 so I don't screw it up? If that's not how I back it up you have to give me more to go on than "Backup emunand and backup its folder" That doesn't mean shit to me. I thought my emuNAND is what the partition on the SD was?
Post yfw NOA are reading these threads RIGHT NOW and passing advice to HQ on how to cuck us
>>I didn't the N was new.
>>I thought it might mean Nintendo.
What the fuck did NDS stand for you dip
I've got two SD cards for my DS right now, one of which is the legit one containing games and such.
The other is for the emunand payload and all, and I was wondering if I could transfer the applications over to the emunand/sysnand of that card.
Or am I screwed on this part.
Is there even any point in creating back-ups of these in case Nintendo blocks everything on 10.4 and we ever get 10.3 on n3DS?
Majora's Mask CIA won't install. I get this error message whenever I get ~99%
upgrade just to downgrade worked on my o2ds last night though.
Don't I need an entry point for sysUpdater? Browserhax doesn't work on anything below 9.0.
If you've got a specific guide to link I'd be interested.
Thx for replying
And also to add to this does that mean setting up ctr will make it boot without issue? Since I've done that before (not right now though) and it seemed to skip the actual menuhax main menu.
start eshop once
If it doesnt work delete the cia and copy it over again, that sometimes fixes problems. Maybe reboot the 3ds or redownload the cia all over.
Looks to me like eshop will help though.
>Please stop shouting and using those fucking images, my hate for you is growing.
>says the faggot using anime reaction images
Some of you shitters really are pathetic
Install DevMenu, I used to get this but when I switched I didn't have problems again. It also looks nicer.
NoA and Nintendo can suck my dick. I'm filthy European scum (i.e britfag), but I'm still playing Yokai Watch. This is what happens when you release region-locked consoles, especially in Europe.
SO FUCK YOU. I MIGHT'VE IMPORTED BUT I CAN'T. SO FUCK YOU AND YOUR LOST SALE.
AND I'M USING THE JAPANESE-ONLY THEMES YOU NEVER RELEASED EITHER
why can't I install cia's on my emunand?
It works fine when I boot through pasta but none of the cia's I install show up when I boot through RXtools into emunand
FBI just gives me an error and I can't install Big blue screen because of it
There is a hidden partion on your SD. This is where the emuNand is. The other stuff is just your SD card.
choose EmuNAND Manager Options...
dump emunand (bottom option)
Now you have a emunand.bin on your SD card. Cut/paste it to your pc.
Does that cover the confusion?
>says the shitter on an anime image board
sure sure, I'm the pathetic shitter
So, how long does it take to downgrade in o3ds?
(from pressing Y in sysupdater)
>stick SD card in computer literally 5 minutes after putting files on it because you forgot one
>suddenly won't show up
W-what's going on guys?
But other browser hacks like rxTools work. I assume you're fairly familiar so he's the gist of what you could do.
>Run it from launch.rxtools.net
>Inject FBI to sysnand
>Install sysupdater to sysnand
>Update to 9.2 **BE EXTRA CAREFUL, USE DEVMODE**
>Continue rxtools setup as if from scratch for 9.2. FBI injection to emunnand not necessary btw.
I've followed the image guide and i can perfectly access a proper emunand from launch.rxtools.net
The image however stops afterwards, and I'm off tracks looking for the next steps like configuring the bootloader. Would any of the other pastebins be able to follow up on this easily?
So, if I'm following the guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-install-a-cfw-on-a-9-0-9-2-n3ds-without-cn-oot.398394/ and I get to the point where I install FBI to the home menu, and it doesn't show up, what do I do then? I just get a gift box that disappears after I see it on the menu.
I feel like it kind of hoses me for the rest of the setup, doesn't it?
I just put in my other SD card and it isn't working either. Could it be my computer? I think i might've forgot to safely extract one though, definitely not the other though. Restarting didn't help.
As far as I can tell, it's not really possible to convert 3ds files to cia without a lot of manual work on a 3ds with a 4.x firmware.
So does anyone know any good sources for japanese games as .cia?
Ok, Ive been having this issue repeatedly and Im at wits end as far as what I should do to fix this.
I downgraded my N3DSXL and backed up my emunand. Backing up your SD card files was a part of that process so I put my whole SD card on my computer. Then I rebooted from emunand9 with my backed up contents on my SD card. While I can still use browserhax and homebrew on the SD card, the 3DS' menu ignores all the games and file structure. Its a brand new home screen. I tried accessing my SD Data in System Settings too and still my games dont appear there either.
I asked Scream anon and he suggested only dragging the Nintendo 3DS folder and nothing else. That didnt seem to change things.
Tl;dr: My SD card games no longer show up in my home menu or system settings/storage. I can only access card files with homebrew.
It's pretty frustrating, isn't it familia?
Protip - Once the planets align and you get browserhax working, install menuhax as fast as your hot little fingers will let you and then never ever touch themes again. Your new themes are now only accessible through menuhax. Don't ever accidentally uninstall menuhax by even LOOKING at the little pink glowing dot on the 3DS homescreen. It is a siren, a harpy. It is there to miselead you. Menuhax is now your home menu. Menuhax is now your home.
Do not anger Menuhax.
>stepped away to watch some porn
>N3DS-XL autoboots into my emuNAND smoothly
It's a good feel. Still need to set up bootNTR since I'm a cakecuck but gimme some good games, weeb or otherwise. Currently the only things my sights are on is PSMD and MHX.
Finally got it to work despite finding a lot of unlisted and undocumented fucking problems.
Thanks guys. Especially that one guy who suggested I delete firmkey.bin from the cakes folder, if you're here.
Question tho, if I'm using n3ds, does that mean I'm more or less locked out of eshop forever?
>guys GUYS why aren't you answering my posts about soccer on this hockey forum?!
Please try to understand the autists anon, they do have a point.
Not that I care. But maybe it'll stop responding.
>5)once its done go into settings and choose "quick boot" and check it. now quit and this time run browserhax to install menuhax 2.1
>6)once menuhax 2.1 is installed go to configurations and set it to autoboot (type 2).
What is he talking about? Go into what settings? And what configurations? RxTools dont launch because theres no rxtools.dat in this build, only code.bin.
>tfw sliderhax is weird
this is something that made it work more for me.
i click on the red circle, and drag it a little bit towards the right,
So I'm at the beginning of this whole process.
Whenever I open pasta, it takes me to a blank screen.
And from what I understand, I need it to boot me to the home menu so that I can install FBI.cia
What else can I do besides sit here and wait or retry?
MHX wont load past the warning screen
what region and downloads did you use? I used USA versions off some mega3ds blog or something, not sure if it's the one labeled as online ready or something, but I installed the game, the update, then the DLC, everything loaded up fine. The only issue I had was it wouldn't open, but that was resolved after I update emunand
Here is again hoping for someone to answer
When I try to run smash bros (game cart) or MHX (CIA) it goes into a black screen which says "An error has occurred. Hold the button to turn off..."
But then I downloaded shantae and I could run the game without problem. Any ideas on how to fix it? Searched in google but didn't find anything relevant
This is the guide I used >http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji
I click as far left as possible and it works 80% of the time.
I'm possitive it doesn't matter where you click and it's all superstition but still.
Left slider is best slider bitch
quick boot setting in rxtools (launch.rxtools.net or the dukesrg one)
run browserhax to install menuhax
go into menuhax config and startup type, set to type 2. assign a button (R trigger or w/e) that needs to be held to BYPASS menuhax.
yes, that's why this thread is full of 3ds shitposts
Okay, i noticed my computer is registering it being plugged in and it shows up in the device menu but isn't available to open. The last thing i did was backup the emuNAND with emuNAND tool.
emuNAND is only on the SD card, correct? So if i do need a new card i can just make a new emuNAND?
How do you install custom themes on emunand (through rxTools if that matters)
>download MHX on my old 3DS
>make my character
>immediately lose interest because it's not as translated as I thought it would be
>s'ok tho, more updates on the way
Depends what 3DS you have m8.
I would've, but I bought legit Yokai Watch over New Year and put 20+ hours into it (those save transfer things hardly ever work, so no). Plus I'm happy with region-free and custom themes desu. Got muh old 3DS for shits and giggles.
Some, let me write out your steps so I have it clear:
>choose EmuNAND Manager Options...
>dump emunand (bottom option)
>take emunand.bin and which folder? off the SD and onto my computer
>then I boot into emuNAND via cakes and open TinyFormat (I'll have to use tinyformat because I can't take out my SD, right?)
>format via tinyformat
>go into cakes and enter emuNAND
>log into my NNID, open eshop and miiverse
>shut the 3DS off
>return my emuNAND.bin and the folder I don't know of back to the SD
>go into emuNAND9 and set it back up? does not mean formatting the card again?
anyone? i need fbi on emu, but the installation fails when i try it from hombrew
Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were only ruined a tiny bit. They fagged link up a bit and now navi basically tells you exactly where to go instead of some vague shit. I'd still prefer a 1:1 copy of the originals but it's still pretty neat to have a good 3d zelda in your pocket. (touch-control cuckdroids don't count).
Also I was pleasantly surprised at Mario 3d world, though I've only played the first level.
The prof layton games aren't as good as the DS ones but the puzzles are still good.
FBI and BBM saying that Cia files are invalid, while 2 other games installed.
Even downloaded a mega:///#!854mgAhL!hlUTvwlgRHJVs78ufPKEkIVGNP5T4keRtuVTxIzJHeA and still nothing.
doesn't matter. rxtools is more popular because guides say so.
install whichever you like.
imo rxtools 3.0 > cakes > rxtools 2.6
keep sysnand on 9.2. use tubehax dns to stop updates from going in.
no tiny format. Once you're back in emuNand, go into settings and format it just from the regular nintendo settings menu. It won't touch your SD card if you are in emuNand.
The folder you need to move is the one inside Nintendo 3DS that corresponds with your emuNand. These folders are names shit like "45jhb5kjh3g45g3jkg" and there should (atleast I had) 2 of them. One is for sysNand, one for emuNand. Take the emuNand one.
Then at the end just do the opposite thing in emunand9 (it says "Copy from emunand.bin to emunand") or something similar.
Nothing else will be needed. It should look the same as it was before all this shit except now you have eshop access.
I know, right? It shouldn't bother me but it does, it put me off MH3 on PSP as well. The latest patch sorts out a lot of the item/weapon text tho, so imma give it another go senpai.
>tfw when you realize you find the NPC stuff in MH comfy and maybe even world building
No worries, install it via FBI and you should get the snazzy icon for it (with a 3D house!). Remember famalam, use Menuhax to install themes to sysnand, use CHMM to install themes to emunand. Do not use CHMM from within Menuhax, I don't even know why it's there.
So I installed an EUR .cia for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on my 10.3 CakesFW system through FBI. When I try and launch it, it sits on a black screen for a couple of seconds, and then gives me "Error Message: An Error Has Occurred. Hold Down the POWER Button." Does anyone know what the issue is here? I've also installed Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and that works just fine.
Can I get a download link and a quick tutorial on how to get big blue menu? I already have FBI/emunand and all that stuff, I need it to uninstall a few games due to people saying that going to the system menu isn't very trustable
To run out of region games on cakes I just run the icon that bootNTR added yeah? What does it/I do from there?
(Since I haven't run it yet and don't want to break something or something by running it when I shouldn't be.)
I ordered a larger SD card on amazon that won't be coming until after the 11th, so i went ahead and set up everything on a throwaway card. How do I move everything to the new SD card so that it works? Do I just copy/paste everything, or inject my backup from emunand9 into it, or what?
Pretty sure this is JustPingo or someone very close to him. There's no fucking way he has these kids this brainwashed.
>StreetPass DLC is installed
>I had all of the games unlocked at one point
>I still have the unlocked items even
>but the games are gone now
How do I fix this? I just wanted to fish damn it
you did something wrong
installing random stuff to "Destination: NAND"
go in fbi in "delete title" mode, find what you installed, be careful, delete it, and it will go away
always install to "Destination: SD" unless you're specifically told to select NAND there. if they tell you to install it to sysnand, that's NOT what you have to do.
Could someone help me out?
When I downloaded the files for the downgrading, apparently some must have been missing, because the screen always tells me about problems with the .cia files and I was told here that it simply means lack of specific files or something.
Could anyone link me to any site that lets me check it out, or a trustworthy download link? The pastebins are out.
Thanks in advance.
>Golden Sun runs perfectly as a VC title, even at battles
Why didn't Nintendo release more GBA games for the VC again?
Do they hate money?
Also any way to make it run in its native resolution instead of blowing the image up with point resize?
No problems, I played both MH2G and MHFU, enjoyed the shit out of them. No matter how far I get with MHX, I'll still get the inevitable western release. Huntan's too fun. I fucking loved how the new pink bubble dragon moved in the opening, holy shit. Hype.
I did it too bby, took me a while to figure out "duh, menuhax and CHMM don't work". Menuhax only works if you don't fuck with the themes setting on the 3DS home screen. Let it be known that I am so fucking glad that Japanese themes don't require a .cia installation.
>well of course they don't retard
I dunno, man. I'm looking at these Youkai Watch Nip themes, and they are literally the same as any other themes i.e. cost nothing to upkeep i.e. free money for Nintendo. Yet they aren't on the US store and you can bet your tea and crumpets that us eurofaggots and britkuks aren't getting them. I don't get it.
And because I have eshop I'll have miiverse as well, correct? Both give the same error when logging into both, so that should be resolved if I'm understanding correctly.
Now this is where I'm going to have a problem, pic related.
This is a screen cap of my sysNAND folders BEFORE I set up the emuNAND. I have multiple sysNAND locations. I was told by another anon before I started setting up my CFW that by setting up my multiple .dbs from the dbs.zip and going to System Settings>Data Management>Nintendo 3DS>Software and repairing the corrupted files, that this would sort out my multiple sysNAND locations.
In the image you can see the two locations.
Those are still on my 3DS.
I have a new location now included with the older ones. Can I assume that one is my emuNAND?
Are the original locations
Is the new one, is this the emuNAND?
Following this http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji, I want to update my emuNAND. It says I can go into System Settings and update IF I'm in emuNAND. The problem I'm having is even though the folder I made telling me that I am in emuNAND is there, I am used to the outdated rxTools where there were letters in front of the update numbers.
Is it safe?
It's fucking surreal. As much shitposting as anonymity invites i have a much easier time believing this general than gbatemp when it comes to anything. It's easier to extract the truth from a lot of anonymous people than people who want to earn post number cred on a forum.
Ive been trying to downgrade and I still get "titleException: mani.cpp:154: Result 0xD900182F Failed to get CIA file info!"
Just keep trying right? Im using an Old 3DS..
press select to unmount, backup all your shit to your computer, put sd back in, press b twice, complete emunand setup
Did you unlink your NANDs?
>it worked so it must be the best
why do you think you lost your saves? the database thing is unrelated to saves, that's to make fbi work
The problem is that you didn't us TinyFormat when you unlinked, so Nintendo saw you were formatting and then unlinked your NNID. Since you didn't purposely unlink your NNID, your emuNAND is logged into your NNID but it can't actually connect because Nintendo unlinked it.
>Cakes is recommended for New 3DS. O3DS should use rxtools.
mid-kid, the creator of Cakes, has an O#DS with no plans of upgrading. Please stop the meme that O3DS shouldn't use Cakes.
I would honestly say neither. 9.2 menuhax is different from 10.3 menuhax in the same way we have that shitty old browserhax with the slider. We'll probably never get an updated menuhax. What we need is a menuhax alternative.
>Is there anything I can do on here that I can't do on 9.2?
Not that I know of.
You'll be fine. The worst that would happen is that menuhax wouldn't work after the transfer and you'd have to set it up again.
No. We've all called it this for a long time. The best you'll get is that I'll add a note somewhere in my pastebin about what it stands for.
this example is really good proof
Well you're not giving me much info to work with, but if you can't even boot rxTools it might be worth giving CakesFW a shot. Here: http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji
download google translate to your phone and draw out the characters to translate the npc text
the new one will be your emuNand. You could just back them all up if you want to be super safe.
In regards to miiverse, I got a new error after this (just got a black screen with "turn off and call nintendo" on the bottom). I had to install the latest update via .cia to play it again, same with PokeBank.
>"it's that high of a brickrate"
>I've done it 3 times, both succesful ones were within 20 tries AT MOST
>the one that never did was because I hadn't formatted system memory after coming back to 10.3 from a fucky 9.2 install
Once I've hacked my 3DS, is it possible to go back and make it legit again?
Same question if during the installation I do some stupid stuff will I be able to un-brick it?
I have an original 3DS and don't really want to lose it because it's some special edition
What's the safest, most efficient and most updated way of converting 3dz/3ds files to cia? All tutorials state you need flashcards and versions 4.x and stuff. What's the best way of converting them?
>In regards to miiverse, I got a new error after this (just got a black screen with "turn off and call nintendo" on the bottom). I had to install the latest update via .cia to play it again, same with PokeBank.
Are you on a N3DS? I don't know if that's a N3DS error or a common one, because I get the same error code for both places. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Hi bros, 2 real quick questions. I got rxtools on my 3DS and everything works great.
1) Can I update games with the eShop?
2) If I get banned in Emunand, can I just set up another Emunand and be not banned anymore?
JustPingo and that cat fuck just want publicity for literally not being involved in this at all. They were even running the thread about it on GBAtemp and answering questions they didn't know the answer to just so they could pretend they had a big hand in this. Epeen I guess.
I've done it on 2 N3DSs, and I was one of the retards that downgraded too soon, so I did it 3 times for N3DS in total. Zero bricks, soft or hard. Same with the 2 O3DSs I did it to.
>5 days since downgrade
>Go to video game section in store
>look at a lot of cool 3ds games that I want to get eventually
>reality finally hits that I can get all of these for free whenever I want
thanks for the info. I think I'm just going to shove it into a corner and forget about it because I've finally gotten everything else working and my games are running and I don't want to fuck it up now
yeah just update it to the latest firmware
why would you ever want to do this anyway.
If you are stupid eough to flash the NEW nintendo 3ds firmware to an OLD 3ds you are fucked.
Trying to access the homebrew launcher through the browser, but it keeps snagging. I'm on 10.3 and have a New3DS. Is anyone else having this problem? It worked for me like 15 minutes ago.
are your nands unlinked? I'm not sure if it matters that much, but when I did it, mine were unlinked. I just booted into my emunand and updated from the system settings. I'm also on o3ds, so my emunand is 10.3 and my sysnand is 9.2, I've managed to run the new fire emblem with the fan translation, smash with the newest update and all the DLC, and a couple other games, everything's fine. Not sure which guide you followed, since I did mine as the stuff was coming out before there was a full guide
You're damn right I will, faggot.
Pretty sure you're ok, because rxtools can run on the browser. Why are you removing Menuhax anyway? You need all the exploits you can get.
Did you play MH4U on the New 3DS maybe?
I'm following the op pastebin to downgrade, but sysupdater boots right into a black screen? Does it just take a while to boot? I figure there'd be at least some text to let me know it's loading or something so it must not be starting.
I'm using the latest Ninjhax (2.5 beta?) on n3DS 10.3.0-28U, booting into the HBC via Cubic Ninja. Also, how high are the chances of a hard brick? Soft brick idc, I just bought the system today so there's nothing I'd lose by resetting the console
Is there a list of what official apps are safe to uninstall?
I'm talking like AR Games, Health & Safety, etc.
Quick question. When updating the firmware for the emunand on the N3DS running Cakes, do I grab the update files for 9.5 and use the 9.5 firmware.bin at the same time, or update to 9.5 first then change the firmware.bin to the 9.5 one?
I followed the instructions step by step to downgrade my N3DS. Got sysupdater to load, but it's not like is in the picture in the guide (related)
It doesn't have the ARM11 kernel message or any of the numbered steps. It just starts on the line "sysupdater 0.4.sb by..."
I have the correct version downloaded, all the . cias are in an "updates" folder on the root of the SD card. Is it ok to press Y and continue the downgrade or will I probably brick it?
just do what it says and you should be good.
But there's always a small chance things go south and you softbrick your device, meaning; you have to enter safe mode and update back to 10.3 and try again.
Okay team. Today I have done the following on my N3DS:
- Got HBL up and running.
- Followed everything in this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-setting-up-9-0-9-2-n3ds-xl-for-rxtools-cfw-including-emunand-coldboot-cia-manager.405589/ , including setting up EmuNAND, Installing MenuHax, rxTools and CtrBootManager
What's next? Do I need to update my EmuNAND to 9.5 (currently on RX-E 9.2.0-20E)? I'm not sure what stuff from here on is necessary and what's optional.
>Did you play MH4U on the New 3DS maybe?
Why shouldnt I expect at least for it to look as good as 4U?
They downgraded the textures and drawing distance.
Used FBI in rxtools 3.0 in a 9.5 emuNAND new3DS
Is the anon helping here?
I entered FBI on EmuNAND but a message appeared:
An error has ocurred. "Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again"
Can anybody help me here?
I got you senpai -
US - https://mega.nz/#F!OMlTlKxR!0CCLQRtl7A8vU6M2jRypHw
JP - https://mega.nz/#F!3B0CkRzQ!fzEcrsf7WpIxxjeNr2m35w
m8, that's a damn shame. Maybe they'll update the textures for the western release? I thought you were playing MHX on the old 3DS or something. Damn.
Are you sure you were in emunand still?
Also a friendly reminder that going to System Settings and leaving reboots your system, putting you in sysnand if you're not set up to autoboot.
There's nothing wrong with your screen. The imgur image from the downgrading guide shows the screen from Tux's version. You are using julian's.
When you're at your screen, you just have to press Y for downgrade.
Be sure you have the correct .cia files in your updates folder.
>30 years old, only follows JustPingo, continuously defends KTM
>new account, only posts defending KTM
Your game is getting weak, Pingo. You're not going to get any recognition for this. Please stop.
I keep using rxTools to try to install FBI over the H&S app in sysNAND but it doesn't seem to work. I do it in rx and then boot sysnand and it just gives me the normal app unaltered.
What am I doing wrong?
Hey sorry for being obnoxious again but I just want to make sure my steps here for fixing eshop and miiverse error code is correct:
>go into homebrew and load emuNAND9
>choose EmuNAND Manager Options
>dump emunand (bottom option)
>take emunand.bin and the Nintendo 3DS folder and back them up
>place card back into 3DS
>go back to homebrew menu and boot cakes
>while in emuNAND go to System Settings and format the 3DS
>reboot into emuNAND
>log into my NNID
>open eshop and miiverse
>shut down the 3DS
>take my SD card out
>return emuNAND.bin to the root and my nintendo 3DS folder
>put card back in
>go to homebrew and boot emuNAND9
>choose EmuNAND Manager Options
>go to copy from emunand.bin to emunand
I've got it right now?
Sorry right side up.
I tried FBI and its saying my Description Unknown and figured its something else wrong.
Currently installing BootNTR, though, some things are unclear to me.
Do I have to start BootNTR everytime I want to play a game from a different region?
It tells me to leave by pressing the home button, do I have to keep it running or can I close it?
Another question, once I'm done with setting my shit up, what am I not allowed to do besides updating sysNAND. Heard people talk about eShop cannot be accessed?
yeah, i meant cakes, not pasta. mb
anyhow. I guess thats a cryptofixed .cia to work on all regions thats why its not compatible with your cfw
look for a guide and install rxtools 3.0
Once backed up, delete the emuNand folder (the latest one you said) inside Nintendo 3DS folder
only open eshop, not miiverse. I guess it won't hurt but it's pointless.
Other than that, perrfect
NOW FUCKING DO IT ALREADY
The Sapphire mod with big tits.
2 versions of FE Awakening
Devil Survivor 2
I've successfully installed Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and Animal Crossing through FBI, but outside of those two games, everything else refuses to install.
The only thing I can think of is that somehow the MicroSDcard reader not being the same brand is causing some issues with something.
Some people had more luck after formating their 3DS. If you don't mind setting up your entrypoints again, you could try that.
If you already have the homebrew starter pack, you can try ftbrony trick.
1. start ftbrony in HBL
2. spam B so you close it as fast as possible
3. when you're back in HBL quickly start sysUpdate and press Y.
At least worked like a charme on N3DS.
I've installed the latter three using BBM without fail. My setup is O3DS, 10.3 emunand using rxtools 2.6.
You should just try on your O3DS. The N3DS scene is pretty fuckin' faulty.
Will Browserhax ever be fixed or require an update to run the Browser?
And downloading games from eShop should be done on emuNAND? Can it be done on sysNAND? I'm sure you'd have to update
Well, I'm assuming formating again and updating will completely remove the hacks from my N3DS.
Also where's the guide you used for O3DS, or are you 2cool4school and did it yourself?
>9.9 OXL with Ironhax
>Already have CFW O3DS, 2DS & OXL
How the hell is that 2.6MB
>Will Browserhax ever be fixed or require an update to run the Browser?
This is exclusive to 9.9 or higher. Right now you have no excuse to get on 10.3 to downgrade and be rid of that shit.
Yes you must start BootNTR on every power cycle you make.
You can close it once you press the home button.
You mean updating EmuNAND? Depends on the eShop, are you on O3DS or N3DS?
literally used the op guides
and complained in here for help
following those two should do you good. as for sysupdating, well, you've done it before. make sure to use julians build and menuhax as the entrypoint.
>mfw losing all my downloaded content
this better be worth it you fucks
This isn't the Android custom ROM scene, friendo. No way can you uninstall all that shitty bloat, and I hate having a fucking folder full of shit I can never delete.
Imagine if we could tho, sweet baby Jesus
>Dollar price is rising
>Vidya gets more expensive in my country as a result
>mfw I won't have to bend and take inflated prices up the pooper when I can just stuff my 3DS with CIAs from the latest releases.
Okay, thank you!
I followed the (your?) guide with Cakes.
I have a N3DS.
Well, I shouldn't update sysNAND and emuNAND to a non-supported FW.
I don't know, just thought there might be some things to watch out for.
I'm another person SO
>Backed up EmuNAND.bin
>Backed up Nintendo 3DS folder
Now i'm going to format through system settings when do i delete the emunand folder inside Nintendo 3DS? After i can access the eshop?
Yes, there are two of those kind of folder. To check is my emuNAND is updated I have to go to Cakes>system settings and make sure it says ver. 10.3 and starting without cakes it should say 9.2 right?
You're welcome anon!
Just saw no one was replying so I decided to help, I'm not the one who made the guide.
Never touch sysNAND, since you're on a N3DS, the emuNAND can be updated to 9.5 manually, should be within the Cakes guide. Your only reason to update to 9.5 would be Amiibo, eShop, Badge Arcade and that's about it. A lot of people have been getting black screened when trying to update to 9.5 though, so try and stay on 9.2 if you can like me
>was about to install Bravely Default
>4gbs of space
>have 5gb left on SD card
well fugg, cannot use FBI to install this one through my SD card, and i dont know how to do it through the ''receive an app over the network'' thing,
i assume it does it online through the internet, which would make my internet be even more shit than it already is...
Not that anon, but is there any news on the N3DS emuNAND beng upgradable to 10.3? I was hoping they'd sneak out something before the 11th. This is probably the only thing stopping me from downgrading because of legit Yokai Watch (as it stands, I'd lose that on my N3DS).
>boot up into emuNAND
>go into System Settings so that I can update the emuNAND
>it's showing the system version of the sysNAND
Am I doing something wrong?
I also can't get the ctrbootmanager thing to work.
Oh, alright. I am already on 9.5, had fortunately no problem.
Guess I'll finally try to install some games then. Thank you!
BEFORE the format, remove the emuNand folder inside Nintendo 3DS
You should have 2, one newer than the other. Delete the newest one, it is the emuNand data.
Doesn't matter I don't think, but keep it off if you want, then put it back when you've formated and are ready to reload the emuNand.bin
I wish I knew, and I wish there would be a way. Updating to 9.5 isn't even stable yet which is shitty.
Did you use the link in the Cakes guide? Did you do anything special or extra to make it work? I'm scared that I'll black screen.
Hey /hbg/, I'm using this guide here http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji and it's saying to put the 3DS folder of emuNAND onto my SD Card. However, there's already a 3DS folder there (obviously). Do I just copy and paste the contents of the 3DS folder into my SD Card's 3DS folder?
>Delete emuand folder
>turn off and restore
is that right? after formatting it will create another emunand folder with the same name as before so i replace files?
Sounds a bit fucky, anon. I don't want you losing your CFW over something petty like that, I'd feel bad. Good luck.
I wonder what it is that allows O3DS to update emuNAND to 10.3, but not N3DS? Ah well. I've got my O3DS fully exploited and as many entry points as I can on my N3DS. I guess all we can do is wait and not upgrade.
You downloaded the wrong files. Go down a little lower on the page for the right download link.
I was wondering for an hour where the boot.3dsx file was in there was a 2nd download link. It's stupid.
>Finally boot into sysupdater
>Failed to get CIA file info!
>updates folder on root with all the cias
what the fuck, man.
If I have menuhax I won't have to worry about updates right? Apparently downgrading doesn't work when you use a Mac and I won't have access to a Windows computer with an SD slot for a while, and I have no USB to SD adapter. Am I fucked, because downgrading is my last step.
Yup, I used this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-update-emunand-on-a-n3ds.393701/
No, nothing special at all, I didn't even know updating is causing so many problems.
Couldn't you just reset emuNAND with the backup you're supposed to make according to the guide?
how did you get it to boot???
Thanks anons. One more thing: the FBI folder has more than just the cia file, it also has a 3DS file and an elf file. Do I paste those onto the root along with the cia file or just the cia file? The guide's not so clear on what to do with them.
>That's it! Save the file and put your SD card back in your 3DS. It should now boot to ctrbootmanager when you power it on, and after waiting a few seconds, it should boot Cakes. If you want to boot sysnand ever, just hold the key you assigned for menuhax earlier when you power on your 3DS.
K, done this. It boots to ctrbootmanager then to cake as said but when I click "Boot CFW" it just boots back to ctrbootmanager.
