Hi!

Whenever anyone says that the donators don't realise their money is going toward an awareness-only foundation, just look at how they're phrased. "Let's kick cancer's butt!" is the meme/most common one, and even it implies something active. Most people think they are donating to a charity that is actively working on ending cancer. Prevention is important, and so is spreading awareness on how to check yourself, as early detection will give you a better chance when it comes to fighting it, but if anyone was upfront with what they're doing (i.e. at any point, the person reading donations pointed out that someone's comment was wrong), I think people would start to take issue with the charity, when there are so many others that do more.

The thing is, in >CURRENT YEAR everybody knows cancer is bad. Everyone knows to go to the doctor and to live a healthy lifestyle and you'll minimize your risk of cancer, but that doesn't stop them from going to Mcdonalds every day and smoking two packs of cigarettes.

Putting up posters saying "TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR IT'S IMPORTANT" is the most insignificant, worthless attempt to increase awareness of cancer I can think of. If someone seriously doesn't know to go to the doctor for a regular check up, a poster won't change that.

What people don't know, for some reason, is that there is not and will never be a "cure" for cancer. It's not a strain, a virus or anything like that. It's a state where some of the cells in your body are harming you, a tumor that affects your organ's ability to function properly. You can't just "cure" every single thing that could cause cancer. Treatment options have gotten better, sure, but the billions of dollars that get poured into cancer research every year mostly go to waste. But companies like PCF are the worst of the worst, because they don't even do anything except line their pockets.
