MAN is kancer edition
>Can the game be considered a full release?
No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state. The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective. There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.
> Are there big issues with the game?
Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.
> What are the devs doing?
Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The next major update (1.1) is supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better. An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.
> Should I buy the game?
KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!".The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics. The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you should not purchase the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

I promise to be a benevolent god as I pass into the martyrdom OP has deigned for me.
Remember that the Janitor chooses our threads now and we must elect a steward to fight this corruption.
Reminder that there are at least three people trying to shape a narrative around discrediting me.
Reminder that career is a false paradigm.
Thank you /kspg/, for your recognition that I am more than just another poster. I am a titan-god-king and together we shall BURN SQUADCAST until the heat death of the universe.
Bow before me.
First topic I command you discuss: the failure of Maxmaps to complete the circuit.
I took some poetry classes in college (yes, yes) and for awhile I sat there stewing over the fact that these meaningless words didn’t have any logical or scientific value and that it was all shitgetting sucked out of other liberal arts professors’ assholes.
Turns out, I was wrong. Good poetry, formal poetry, follows some very stringent rules and these rules, when followed, create a “self-reinforcing logic” that permeates the entire poem. The “self-reinforcement” i refer to are serendipity between form and content, multiplicitous use of word and phrase meanings, and meter and cadence that match the subject or topic of the poem somehow.
The end result is a work that does not “tell” you its meaning, but slowly “shows” it after thorough reading and re-reading. The meaning is harder to find, but much deeper.
You’re probably wondering why I’m talking about this. I’d like to use the phrase “connecting the circuit” to refer to this self-reinforcing logic behind good poetry — the moment you add in that last idea that refers to the first idea and create a continuum of meaning. I’d argue that the best games are the ones that also take the time to do this.
You’ll see this often referred to as “self-consciousness” or “self-referentiality” of a work, when a movie knows it is a movie or a book knows it is a book. Likewise, a game must know it is a game.
Kerbal DOES have “self-referentiality” but in a way that will make your blood boil. KSP embraces the “so kerbal” attitude in its own code, making references to the kraken, for instance. In this way, the instability of KSP is compared to the instability of billy’s rockets. Unfortunately, this is not true “self-consciousness” and is more of a marketing gimmick. See Artyom’s momentary rant in his devblog for more context.
So, when I talk about what the “game” is, I’m referring to the thing people think of when they think of “KSP” — some think of a career grind, others think of a barren sandbox — but at no point does that logic link up and create the “circuit” a good, complete self referential work should contain.
For the record, this is what Max SHOULD have been doing during his time as a producer, and you can see he understood it a little bit, as he worked on things like rep hits when you lose kerbals or admin strategies, but again that’s all within the walled garden of career.
My argument is that it’s time to drop the cognitively disassociative game modes and DO THE HARD WORK Max refused to do and complete the circuit so that KSP can move from a neat proof of concept to an actual “ready for release” final game.
I hope this makes some amount of sense. I know it’s just more fucking words, so I will work on editing it all down to one paragraph today.
Let me know if you guys want to get linked to some poetry — I think the “formalism” movement best summed up what I’m getting at but it was a long time ago.
Hullo kspg I made you some webms
I think it's time you step back for a while. You've only managed to sound more and more like a fool, while tilting at windmills. This kind of autistic shitflinging really isn't what /kspg/ needs right now. Just let things settle, take a break, and let /kspg/ sort itself.
I dont need gay orgies, I just need my qt bf
If OP wants cancer, then cancer he shall receive.
Then may scully meet a nice alternative lesbian snek and they too become entwined in each others love.
This is so exciting a whole thread dedicated to exploring the depths of how cancerous I can become, wee!
Let's talk about craft organization in the VAB and SPH -- do you guys think they should do templates and variants? Or maybe airframes? What about tagging for the craft files and maybe a better preview system? I'd also love to see badges based on accomplishments a craft has made.
Ah so separate tanks then, got it. Would you buy a qt young one?
It's too late Mirk, we've crossed a threshold now. A shame really, I enjoyed posting here.
Goodbye for now /kspg/, it's time for my yearly absence.
The absolute madman he actually did it
I was in the middle of writing a post insulting you and telling you to leave, but you're reminding me more and more of when someone I personally know with a mental disorder had an episode. Seriously, you need help. Take some time off from being hated by the entire fucking general and get therapist or go talk to someone instead of making people leave and pissing everyone off. It'll only be worse off for you if you don't.
>he never released the qt antenna
Did some of the gold just give up on being as bright? Is that how it went for you too?
you were busy writing a post insulting someone when you remembered they had a mental disorder so you went ahead and made the decision that you should finish your insulting post?
Nice logic there. You must be a real philanthropist.
Yeah, from what I've seen, it looks like the anons generally agree the OP should say "torrent" because the different context that implies, and then a bunch of spammers show up and drown out all conversation while measuring their hateboners for MAN.
Space is fun
Shitposting is fun
Ban evasion is fun
Not in the past few days I think, but you van never be too prepared
>in case someone says my sign has no purpose :^)
I like that you're stashing webms and images here like nuts in a squirrels cheeks
y'know anon... question... how much does it cost to get set up with a lil snek?
seek professional help.
That seems very reasonable. I'm between that and a cat right now.
How about you guys chill the fuck out and let the adults shitpost? It's bad enough you showed up two threads ago and started tone policing.
people say lots of things anon. /kspg/ will be just fine. or it'll die and then we can reanimate its dead corpse without 24/7 tone policing, forced thread deletions and unending vote manipulation.
I don't know
Having seen a bunch of people in a general claim to leave and having said general die shortly afterwards makes me worry about this place
This general is in a state where it's alive only because around 10 or so regulars don't want to leave, occasionally making posts that spawn replies that create activity
Losing just 3 of those people would have drastic consequences, due to the drop in initial posts having a butterfly effect on the number of replies and, consequently, overall activity
Tomorrow will be a new day. The thread will either be: back to normal, ded, or filled with shillanthropy. Any of those sound fine by me. Either a chance to study the enemy or a break from the constant harrassment, or, y'know, more shitposting.
2016 represents a chance for /kspg/ to be different.
Not radically different. Not tone policed (ahem), but instead a kinder, more reactive, more participatory /kspg/, both in the community-at-large and at home.
Not everyone will want this. Some will lose their shit when I post this, and some might agree but not say anything. I don't care about people agreeing with me, but I hope that as we kick off this new year we can both have the compassion to understand and allow many viewpoints while at the same time standing strong when a consensus begins to emerge.
Balancing that is hard, maybe impossible. But it's a noble goal to strive for. And I think it's something /kspg/ is capable of.
So thanks boys, and I hope the future holds much in store for this little general.
and career is a false paradigm
My world is fire and blood. Once, I was an anon. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else.
some people were getting very triggered by me so I decided to push it past the point of absurdity, then I got drunk off my power and assumed my rightful place as titan-god-king of /kspg/, which I now rule with an not only an iron fist, but an outstretched palm.
I also started /simant general/ earlier when i was trying to push /kspg/ off the catalog so we also now have a protectorate.
Send a detachment of shitposters there to shore up the topics immediately.
I'm also the one who got the ban plea accepted that lead to the glorious period from august - november with no deletions or bans.
I figure if you guys are gonna go all out, I might as do so too.
And of course there's "getting maxmaps fired" which some will contest but between the press release the imgur album and my interaction on reddit with kasper that directly preceeded max's rushed announcement, I feel pretty confident about that one.
Let's see what else...
I did notice. It's 5am here in NYC too. My qt neighbor is throwing a party so I'm up and thinking about things.
I'm also just salivating over how much OP and the rest of his brigade is regretting their choices right now.
Would you say he's a MAD MAN?
I slept for 8 hours just to see MAN has taken over the thread. WTF /kspg/.
>it's 3 AM which means comedy central will be running paid programming until 6
>cartoon network east just changed from adult swim to regular cartoon network shows
>cartoon network west airing anime for 30 more min
>"flat and sexy abs!" it is
i'm too lazy to read the above drama and i just woke up. has MAN finally fucked off now that literally every single person in the thread has denounced his personal army bullshit?
i don't think he's actually capable of leaving but one can hope
Nah..he went full omnipotence complex now.
He is trying to hide the fact that he is mad as fuck by playing the "hurr you are just mad at me and I am winning because you all talk about me and I'm going to stay here" card.
This thread and probably a bunch to come will be his playground.
Just do your best to filter his trip and ignore his anon posts, he will leave eventually
Even Mirk, which was kinda supporting his cause until now, told him to fuck off, so he basically lost his only friend.
Let this little recap be enough for you, now let's just ignore the issue and talk about something else
Dude pls, don't mention him
Here, have some engine gore to distract you
Your fellow Italian anon here to give you a preview of what I'm going to cook tomorrow (probably)
+1 rep to whoever guesses what it is.
Hint: it's a typical French product and it comes from animals
Close, but no.
Additional hint: it is a part of an animal, but it receives a special treatment while the animal is alive that gives it a special name. This name is part of a very very old culinary tradition in France.
So, even if you guessed correctly and it was a kidney, you should guess the real name, since it's not a normal kidney.
You can make burgers with this, I guess.
>hmmm, i really used to like that space game
>what was it called?
>oh yeah, kerbal space program
>i should go check out the general again, maybe get back into it
And that was how I found myself in the middle of autism the likes of which has only been rivalled by the a/sp/ie.
Did you try it? Was it the actual piece of liver or was it the mousse/cream thing that you spread on bread?
Because it tastes nothing like any other liver, even normal duck liver tastes different than this.
Oh well..to each their own I guess.
Like most french cuisine it's built up a lot for what it actually is. It may look fancy and it may have taken a long time to prepare but that doesn't make it taste good.
European cuisine is mostly based on what was commonly available over the centuries, but now that we live in the 21st century we have the ability to raise any kind of livestock anywhere in the world which means we don't have to resort to eating forcefed duck liver covered in cream to feel like we're eating high quality food.
Prime rib takes an hour to cook and all you gotta do is cover it in rock salt, it comes from cattle which is abundant and cheap and it tastes amazing. And you don't gotta smear garbage all over it either.
Foie gras (the "whole" kind, not the mixed, nor the cream) is literally just a slice of fatty liver cooked on low heat for like 5 minutes and served with nothing else. No sauces, no side dishes, nothing.
It's the exact opposite of something complex or that takes a long time to make.
Of course, being an expensive thing and being commonly used in a luxury context, it is included is a huge selection of overly complex and expensive recipes, but that is not what I'm going to do. I like it simple.
If I wanted to cover it in sauces I would have gotten a cheap liver or any other low grade meat and called it a day.
You can eat ribs and be sure you ate some of the most amazing meat you can get your hands on, but this is another thing.
You can't find any other liver that tastes like this, the very force feeding thing is what makes it taste like that.
I don't like it because it is rare or expensive, I like it for what it tastes like and there is nothing that tastes like Foie gras that is not Foie gras, unfortunately (for my wallet)
That site is fine as long as there is no more than one person editing it, which is not really a problem considering the low traffic it gets.
I remember someone opposed Google docs for privacy reasons.
Not that I care about that, but the other site worked fine for me so far
It has a strange bug with the cursor.
Basically if you want to, say, highlight something or doing anything that requires a click+drag with the mouse, it doesn't move the cursor from where it spawned or where you left it last time.
So, let's say you want to click+drag a sentence and delete it with the keyboard, you will see the sentence highlighted, but once you press the button it will start deleting from where you left the cursor, which will make your screen jump to where the action is actually happening and the highlighted stuff will stay there untouched.
I found that clicking once where the stuff I want to edit is, thus bringing the cursor over there, solves the problem
That, or someone else is editing the doc at the same time, which causes all sorts of weird screen jumps
I haven't experienced any other problem to be honest, if I see someone is writing, I just wait for him to finish.
On mobile is broken as hell tho, nothing works on that
When yo nig a plane but he think he be a UFO
WTG, MEG, (but I think it died recently.), any esports, gsg, plenty of them really.
Kspg was top-tier in 2012-2013 but now it's burned out and the memes moved on and became shittier and even more cancerous and kspg hasn't been keeping up since ~Ńovember 2013.
a combination of the doc and man imo. the doc introduced a new reason for bullshit bureaucratic arguments, and man lost his fucking mind after max left and he lost his purpose.
>December 1: Pan Am Flight 812, a 707-321 (N892PA) crashed at takeoff from Sydney, Australia following a bird strike in the #2 engine and collapse of the nose gear. No fatalities. The aircraft was repaired and put back in service two months later. This plane would be destroyed in an accident 41 years later while serving as a tanker (see below).
>click link to flight page
>Pan Am Flight 812, operated by a Pan American World Airways Boeing 707-321B registered N446PA and named Clipper Climax, was a scheduled international flight from Hong Kong to Sydney, Australia, with an intermediate stop at Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. On April 22, 1974, it crashed into rough mountainous terrain while preparing for a runway 09 approach to Denpasar after a 4-hour 20-minute flight from Hong Kong.
>Fatalities: 107 (all)
They're targeting the regulars one-by-one, I wonder who's next. Engine gore? Maybe Trump 2016, or perhaps Mirk with another global 3.
That's right anon, very good. Sandbox and Career have effectively stalled the development of KSP and must be reworked to continue meaningful innovation.
I've decided to let you flounder for an unspecified amount of time, feel the pain of the world these shills have created for you.
The janitor and the two other Squad apologists here only add negative shit while adding no soul, personality or value to the thread. They are deleting threads, forcing us to use revised versions without the word "torrent" and manipulating polls to accomplish their petty, squad-aligned objectives like destroying meaningful development discussion in /kspg/.
There is a hole in your mind, /kspg/. Fill it with the love you once felt for your fellow anons.
It's ok, we will try to survive without your help.
It will be hard, I know, but kspg went through worse shit than this and we are still here.
See you next time, no hard feelings ok?
>No one has an actual argument
>Just more shit to fling
MAN cared about organizing /kspg/'s feedback into a representative form for a new producer who asked for it. Who are all you people? What did MAN do to you personally to deserve this hatred? You're all just hopping on the most pathetic bandwagon I've ever seen, allowing yourself to be c u c k ed this hard by tripcode. Good god does MAN wins my vote, you've effectively allowed him to take over with your nonstop whining and goalpost moving.
Long live MAN
>despite overwhelming evidence suggesting otherwise, there are people ITT that believe that people willingly rig strawpolls to state something against the general's consensus
Hey guys, every time MAN posts, I pretend I'm a new person and say I'm leaving so that he thinks another person is leaving him because he cared about trying to make KSP better and look what happened to him as a result.
We should all just go back to shitposting and delete the doc. I'm on it now. I'll be sure to get the pastebin too.
he organized the group, he got through to Doctor turkey, he helped construct some of the doc and he even sent scatterer-san $25 just to say happy new year.
and he's thinking about getting a Snake
if you don't know why are you so confident you're right? He has /kspg/ on the precipice of becoming a meaningful outlet for criticism again. What did he do to you? kill your dog?
I know for an absolute fact he was arrested once for public indecence and he currently steals used panties. And he killed my neighbours dog.
But I'm not going to bother proving all this stuff because, you know, it's common knowledge.
and now I wait for you to take this seriously and miss the point completely
>that turd coming out of the rat's ass
are them killed by the bite or by the crushing? and if so, it's just asphyxiation or snek can manage to actually break their ribs and bones?
also, does he try to bite them in the head/throat or any place is good?
it is strangely entertertaining to watch
I'm at the New York historical society, have some culture /kspg/
maybe you'll catch a reflection in the glass
expect to pivot your head a lot
let me know if you need me to trip
For anyone interested in the doc, don't forget to vote here.
I suggested last thread to skip this Monday as a start for the deletion schedule and to delay it to the next one, whatever the final choice may turn out to be.
We already got rid of a lot of yellow stuff so there is really no need to rush things for now.
Who the fuck cares
Turkey isn't going to listen to a god damn thing we say anyway, no matter how organized and well-structured
We're just 10-15 or so autists on 4chan, nothing will change
I am skeptical about this too, but it's not like there is anything to lose by trying.
If they listen to even a small part of that, we win. If it goes straight for the trash bin, then at least we will have one more reason to funnel our anger at squad.
I want to give this guy the benefit if the doubt, he didn't do anything wrong yet so there is really no reason not to try
kspg 2016 anon
go back to the forums with that attitude
we have a private line to Turk
Every time I posted about the doc I tried to be as polite and as discreet as possible, but there is a bunch of issues that need to be discussed here anyway.
I don't want to ruin the comfiness
and I am not our resident schizo if that is what you are thinking, but this thing is happening and people invested time by writing all that shit so I just want to see it not going to waste
Sorry for the inconvenience
sure it's not your fault, you've been civil. it's just that the presence of the doc has resuscitated the cancerous old squad drama. the sooner you guys ship it off to turkey, regardless of whether he even replies to it, the sooner we can go back to comfy offtopic shitposting.
>proper comfy /kspg/ has always had zero squad or ksp discussion
I personally don't care about Turkey but enjoy reading feedbacks and argue with my fellow kspergers. Well in general I also think it's cool to rally around a writing project together. It changes from usual shitposting that tends to be boring at the end of the day.
How has the game not improved in 5 years? What the shit am I supposed to do with this "resource"? Why do fairings not block air? Why can I only view resource data while focused on the craft? Why does the game still look like ass when there have been graphics mods for years? How can Squad not hire a new person in literally three years except when Max got fired?
Why was .26 called a beta if it contained no optimizations? Why is new content still being added if the game is feature complete? Why can't I use contracts or collect science points in Sandbox? When will I be able to play with reckless abandon and not need to worry about breaking the universe? Why is mod compatibility nearly impossible to tell until you open the save? Why does the game crash upon quitting? How old is Badie? Can badie accomplish anything besides suborbital freefall? Who on earth thought console versions of this game would be a good idae?
How much money has squad made? Where are they keeping it? What percent is funnelled back into development? Is it greater than 5%? Where is bac9, why did he leave, why did Val have her ragdoll set to no gravity? Why do autofairings on fairings look like ass? Why has squad spent two years refining plane parts in a game about space?
How did kerbals come to be? Will the KSC ever have any backstory? Who's giving these contracts? Does squad care enough to answer these questions ever? Even after 1.0?
WHAT DO THE ANOMALIES MEAN?
WHY IS THE KRAKEN IN THE GAME?
Will squad ever release the IP or source code? Will KSP be used to inspire a new generation of kids or will it simply come to be known as the mexican early access sponge that dried up one day?
should we ask for the rest of the convo to be revealed?
Downvoted for the /s tag, as always. I don't know why people keep trying to make that a thing.
EDIT: To explain, either your comment was worded well enough to get the sarcasm across or it wasn't. If it was, you don't need the /s tag. If it wasn't, then you should fix the comment, rather than just adding an /s tag to poorly-worded sarcasm. And if your sarcasm is clear and some people don't get it, that's their problem for not understanding language, it's not your job to spoonfeed them and litter threads with a tedious "/s" after every comment.
Everyone can see your vain attempts to improve the game are actually just an attempt to seize power for yourself and control the vast kingdom of /kspg/, who will forever cry MAN MAN MAN! And then you'll change your legal name to MAN and tell everyone in your life that your name is Maxmaps Adds Nothing and they will quake because they will know that this Maxmaps Adds Nothing already rules a general on 4chan and that he must therefore not be someone to mess with. At least maxmaps added complacency, your attempts at good natured improvement are not welcome here and I'm the one who knows that DEFINITIVELY so, please, FUCKOFF MAN
I'm still not him but I'll quit /kspg/ for a while. It's almost unbreathable in here Good luck to handle schizoboy fellows
Full story never released. Look at it hard enough and you can put the pieces together. Maxmaps' spaghettified non-answers, the continued if slowed development of his mods, it's pretty obvious the separation was on his terms.
Most of the sources I just looked for have been "lost" during the forum transition (can't wait for anon to jump on me for that) but there's a version of his devblog somewhere out in the wild that contains a nugget of truth about his opinion of how Squad treats the IP is not positive. There have been multiple works of his that reinforce this notion.
I will at this point note this is all subjective and hearsay and I encourage you to come to your own conclusion based on the available evidence, which is, admittedly, lacking.
EDIT thanks for the upvotes!
EDIT EDIT TL;DR I found the link here it is
>Overall, I'm convinced the obsession with disasters and perception of Kerbals as worthless engineers only caring about explosions is destructive for the game. KSP deserves much more than being a glorified disaster simulator where rockets falling apart and crews being killed is the prime entertainment and the only expected result. The achievements of players who strive to be successful, who create beautiful, well-engineered, reliable designs, should never be devalued, and the opinion that going to space is impossibly hard deserves to be crushed and disproved over and over again. Kerbals are capable engineers and it's up to the player to utilize their technology well.
>This same mindset is harming the game in many other areas as well. The bugs of the physics system aren't there because we thought they would be fun and don't deserve to be defended as some players surprisingly do. The achievements of reaching orbit,
>landing on another body or even establishing a permanent base somewhere should not be perceived as something impossibly hard and unreachable for anyone but hardcore players. Everything is possible if you are willing to learn and there is no reason to restrict yourself to playing a disaster simulator with rocket cars or insta-exploding space planes. Justifying that to yourself by creating a certain mental image of Kerbal engineers competency might make the game better for you but I’m striving for a greater Kerbal good.
ok, it's been a long time
I have no fucking idea what I was doing last time I played.
seems like I'm in for a long and painful session of double checking to see what's happening in this network, what needs to be fixed and what needs to be done next
hold me guys
Can anyone help me with installing North Kerbin Dynamics mod? The weapons seem to load in but the explosions don't. They pop like balloons and disappear instead of leaving nuclear mushroom clouds behind.
After extracting it, I have a new folder called "effects" left over, and I can't find where it's supposed to go.
I'm not in the mood for an health check of the network.
but since I remember a bunch of anons started playing the game last time I blogged, I'd like to hear from them if they kept on playing or got bored, I might start a new game and use that to make tutorials if anyone needs them, otherwise I'll just fuck off to bed.
this network can wait for when I'll have the patience to spend some time double checking everything
did you read the instruction in the forum thread? did you install all the dependancies, if any?
isn't there an instruction text file inside the zipped folder? have you tried putting the effect folder inside the main mod folder and see what happens?
It opened on a plane with factories and resources. I made some rails between a mill and a city. That was about the most I could figure out.
I'd have no idea how to build an economy with those tools. I did recommend it to a guy who is a real railroad dispatcher though. He probably thinks I am insane.
The main clusterfuck of the game is to understand the logic that handles cargo distribution, that is stupid complex and hard to manage if you have no idea what to expect.
the other thing is railroad signals, which you should really learn to do anything more complex than single point-to-point train lines.
the vanilla game is pretty basic tho, super comfy for a beginner.
I assume you stopped playing so I don't think you need text walls on how to set up a good economy.
they're certainly better than KSP. Maybe I missed it but are there any scenarios you can play with an already functioning economy so you can just learn how it works?
I'll have to reinstall it if we're gonna do this.
there is a tutorial scenario in the in-game GRF downloader.
I never tried it but it's always been there and nobody bothered making other tutorials so I assume it is a good scenario for a beginner.
Try that, I'll be here for suggestions if you need any
To be honest anon I'm feeling a little down. I'm going to download it a little later. I'm actually forgetting about a few important deadlines I need to deal with, so please excuse me.
Gents, I'm sure you can take it from here. Maybe I can pick up some ottd tricks from future blogs too.
No instructions on thread. None in zip. All dependencies worked before download. There's no main mod folder. The zip otherwise has parts, sounds, and plugins folders that just copy into game folder (except effects for some damn reason).
I donwloaded the folder to see what's inside but I don't have the game in this computer to see if it works.
anyway, my zip folder has two folders inside (CAL and North Kerbin Weaponry), I don't see how copying those two directly inside the GameData folder can leave a subfolder out, but again I don't have the game here so I can check.
are you sure the dependancies are all there and updated? looks like this mod needs two other mods.
>you will never go back to your first hours on ksp
>you will never go back to hearing that heavenly music whenever you made it to 70k the first few times
>you will never go back to landing on another planet for the first time
Why does it hurt, brehs
I used to play TTD, then moved to OTTD when they removed the dependency on the original .grfs. I still open it up occasionally, but usually wind up putting it away for a couple of weeks, then loading it up and having no idea what the fuck I was doing last, then starting over again. Despite having played for such a long time, I'm still at a pretty basic level, mostly just setting up individual industry connections, and never building a full economy around connecting and exploiting every industry possible.
We can still talk about it if you like, though. What's your favorite train?
>I'll always love plenfag though.
He is right. He doesn't say we never had KSP, he says we are the comfiest when there's no KSP. We are the best when physics anon gets drunk.
What the fug
I don't exactly know but I think it's like reentry. Something somehow fucks up the airflow and result chokes the engine.
Fwiends, see my tripcode above. This is my only post. Note the double exclamation point. Have a good evening, /kspg/.
Let me know if you want the password, I guess.
But fucking seriously, I had a plane that couldn't take off because it was too close to the ground, so instead of increasing its height, I was so fucking bored that I decided to make a ramp (pic related) because, well, it's a ramp, you couldn't run into any issues with a simple moving ramp, right? No, wrong, fucking completely. The entire thing came out to be 200 parts, which would be a completely runnable part count in .20, but because of 1.0's "optimizations" it ran at 2-3 FPS. The first time I launched it to drive it down the runway, the batteries somehow clipped into the ground and exploded, rendering it uncontrollable and useless, before the game Oops!'d. I got so fucking mad that I tried flying the plane into the fuckretarded ramp at mach 5+, except that I'd clip through it most of the time for god knows why. Seriously, fuck this broken ass game.
I have no idea what to research guys, help me out.
I feel like I could play through the rest of the campaign with just this stuff researched.
Lets say you are inside of a falling box so you are unable to see your surroundings. Since you have no frame of reference, you will feel weightless since the box is falling at the same speed as you.
Now lets move the box into deep space, outside of the influence of big things such as stars and planets. If the box accelerates, then from your perspective, it will look like everything is falling because of gravity. In both situations it will appear as if the box is standing still. This is one of the fundamental principles of Einstein's theory of relativity there is no way for you to tell if you are moving or standing still.
Suppose that we try to violate this principle by sending pulses of light from the top of the box to the bottom of the box. Lets measure the time between pulse leaves the top of the box, and when it hits the bottom. Let us also suppose that we also measure the time between when the first light pulse arrives at the bottom of the box, and when the second light pulse arrives at the bottom of the box.
If the box is standing still, then the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box will be exactly equal to the time between the light pulses at the top of the box. This will still be true if the box is moving at a constant speed (that is, the acceleration of the box is 0). Now lets fire up some engines and accelerate the box. Since the box now has an acceleration greater than 0, then the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box will now be less than the time between the light pulses at the top of the box. But wait, if this happens then the person inside of the box will be able to tell they are moving and violate Einstein's theory of relativity, right? Not really. Let me explain.
Since we are inside the box, we believe the box is standing still, and under acceleration we will also believe that a gravitational field is present. This field will affect the rate at which time flows.
U gonna learn today
Apparently gravity affects the flow of time in precisely the right way to prevent us from being able to tell if the box is accelerating or not. If we choose to believe that the box is not moving, then we will also need to believe that there is a gravitational field (the acceleration). The gravitational field will cause time at the bottom of the box to move slower than time at the top of the box. This will cause the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box to be less than the time between the light pulses at the top of the box. Therefore, if we believe that the box is standing still, we will get the exact same results as we would if we believed that the box was accelerating.
The gravitational field exists only from the perspective of a person who believes that the box is standing still. However, if you are standing outside of the box, you will not perceive a gravitational field and you will believe that the box is accelerating instead. From your new perspective outside of the box, the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box is less than the time between the light pulses at the top of the box due to the fact that the box is accelerating.
From the perspective inside of the box, the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box is less than the time between the light pulses at the top of the box due to the effects of gravity on the rate at which time flows. Although it is for different reasons, in both cases, the time between the light pulses at the bottom of the box is less than the time between the light pulses at the top of the box. Therefore, if we believe that the box is standing still, we will get the exact same results as we would if we believe that the box is accelerating. So we are still unable to tell if the box is moving or not, and thus we do not violate Einstein's Theory of relativity.
Lets move to a region of space where the strength of the gravitational field is the same everywhere. Clocks that are far apart along the direction of the gravitational field will run at different speeds. The difference in the rates at which the clocks run increases as we increase the distance between the two clocks along the direction of the gravitational field. The difference in the rates at which the clocks run also increases if we increase the strength of the gravitational field.
Near a black hole, the strength of the gravitational field is so strong that to outside observers, time near the black hole is nearly at a standstill.
Personally I believe that this theory is a bit of a patchwork solution. Sure, time changes based on how strong the gravitational field is, but why? Einstein just introduced a few absurd claims that allowed the speed of light to be constant in all frames of reference. The fundamental philosophy is still yet to be found out.
Sup nerds? I rode a bullet train for the first time today
Oh yea, I forgot to include equations for more advanced readers. You can a kinematic equation to find out that time must be different (I also love how kinematic equations can be derived using integrals from position X, Einstein and Leibniz were brilliant men) for observers.
The equation is d = v_0*t + 1/2at^2, based of what I posted, you can substitute in v_0 and a to be 1, which leads to two different solutions of t

What much of pleb are you?
Sorry for late response, I went to sleep.
I don't have a favourite one, I don't really know anything about trains IRL t b h and I'm playing with a vehicle set with invented names so I don't have any preference.
Plus, every time I play I usually end up quitting way before unlocking most of the trains available, as I like to start my games in the late 19th century with an increased day lenght so I never even make it to the WWI period.
Anyway I might be playing later today, maybe I'll do some blogging if I find the patience to pick up all the work I left unfinished the last time I played.
I didn't realize that you could alter the day length. I think I like it where it's at now though, really. Does that setting affect the time it takes to move a vehicle from point A to B? Same time in in-game days, more time irl?
I've looked around for some .grfs from time to time, trying to see if there were more vehicles that I'd like, but I think I prefer vanilla honestly. I'm just always really happy when I unlock the A4. It's my go-to for a long while afterwards. I'm no hyper-autismo trainfag, but trains are pretty fuckin' neat, and the A4 is just good looking.
I want to make snowpiercer in KSP
No, you can't change the day lenght with the stock game or with grfs, you need a patch for that.
It works by changing only the speed at which the game date progresses, therefore slowing down everything that relies on time to work (like industry monthly production or station ratings).
To the player, everything moves at standard speed on screen.
Technically all your vehicles become faster the longer you set the day lenght (same apparent speed, but longer day = more distance in a day), and this is very noticeable once you start handling a lot of cargo and may take some time to get used to. Having faster trains and slower industries kinda screws up with the workflow you are used to, but you can always just change the day lenght a little bit and be less affected by the consequences
Anyway, stock day lenght is too fast for me, it doesn't give you enough time to get accustomed to a new vehicle since you basically get new vehicles every other year once you progress toward the modern era.
There he goes again FUCK YOU MAN what the fuck is wrong with you don’t you understand you are nothing and your input is nothing and the number of people who like you on this general is zero and we all want you to kill yourself and leave and take your fucking false paradigms and your development feedback and shove it right where resources deserve to be you unbelieveable fucking cunt don’t you understand that KSP IS DEAD and our jobs are to shitpost and not ever interact with the devs again?
STOP burning squadcast
STOP shilling your section of the doc
STOP trying to make it sound like the majority of the general wants to torrent the game
You have no authority here. By the existence of Career mode’s #blessed #barn I declare you to be a troll and a nothing-adder and I demand that you leave forever or I will turn MAN is kancer into a REAL MEME

And tonight, on Kooking Special Plates General, it's seafood time!
- A bunch of small octopi (you english-speaking people probably have a specific name for those, but I don't know it)
- a bunch of calamari
- oil, preferably peanut oil
Nice and easy. Rinse all the food under cold water, let it dry for a bit, then toss it in a container that has been previously filled with flour, close the container and shake the living fuck out of it.
The result will be a fish nicely covered in flour, ready to be fried.
And if you are like me, you will now stop and wait an hour for the dishwasher to finish because you are a moron and forgot to let it run during the day.
You can use this time to start preparing a pan with a nice dose of oil.
I prefer peanut oil because it has one of the best compromise between heat resistance and healthiness, this kind of food needs to be deep fried at very high temperatures and for a short time, so heat resistance (high smoke point) is important here.
The absolute healthiest oil is extra virgin olive oil, but it has a very low smoke point, which is not suitable for this or any kind of deep/pan frying.
Peanut oil is the next best thing (quite healty and with an high smoke point), right next to sunflower seed oil IIRC.
Brb when the dishwasher finishes its job
This should please your American taste then, it's deep fried stuff, you guys love it.
Octopi are cute, I bet they would be great pets.
They'll tear up any tank decor, kill any tank mate, and make constant escape attempts, being strong enough that you literally have to attack the tank lid with screws or hooks. Even a tiny crack and they'll squeeze out. They also only live for about a year.
And now I present to you my latest invention for a hands-free temperature control.
It can be adapted to a various array of pan handles and thermometers and it's also 100% flammable to make your cooking a true and genuine thrilling experience.
When I learn how to code
I think I got the maths though
>When I learn how to code
You need to grab your idea by the balls, fondle them gently, move your other hand to the shaft and start stroking it softly, and then wrap your lips right around the head, suck that idea's cock deep and hard, and then, as it has the best orgasm of it's life, you suck down it's hot, thick, baby batter, stop being such a bitch, and just start coding.
Teach yourself as you go, don't let up, and don't be afraid of making mistakes. Don't know where to start? Pick something at random, and keep writing and rewriting it until it works - I promise you, once you hit that point, and it all works? You'll see a hook for another core feature in the one you just finished, and you'll have the perfect starting point to carry on. Sitting there saying you'll start "when you learn how to code" is just you making up excuses for not doing anything.
I appreciate that. But instead of telling somebody to fuck off and stop being an idea loser, I suggest they pick up a useful skill, stop telling us about their idea, and start showing us their cool mod - if they don't do it? They've produced about as much as we expected they would. If they *do,* however, they've created something that at least one sorry faggot will likely like, and we've managed to take one idea guy out of the pool, and get them started on actually creating things.
How would it differ from the current selection of engines?
Obviously you need a bunch of different models, you just can't slap the same engine model and change it's size with thrust, but you obviously can't make an infinite amount of them either.
So you will stick to, say 10 models and then what? Would you give the player total freedom with Isp/thrust?
You will be forced to make "brackets" of similar specs that will be coupled with a specific engine model.
So, eventually, you will have fixed amount of engines with a fixed amount of specs, which is basically how things are now, except you have more freedom with Isp and thrust.
I guess at this point you are better off making tweakables for engines so you can increase/decrease their values up to a certain amount and have the other value react accordingly (more thrust = less Isp and vice versa).
>grab your idea by the balls, fondle them gently, move your other hand to the shaft and start stroking it softly, and then wrap your lips right around the head, suck that idea's cock deep and hard, and then, as it has the best orgasm of it's life, you suck down it's hot, thick, baby batter
What the fuck.
This is the top post on reddit right now... with the name "mexican space program"
Dude I'd start coding it if I even knew how to start making a mod.
I don't even know what do I need.
I don't even know where to start.
Is there any guides about this, anyway?
That's exactly what I thought. So maybe what the mod would do is that you have a part, the "Procedural Engine" which you can tweak its thurst and isp in the editor. So in the end you'd only need one engine model, or two if you want 1.25m and 2.5m.
I don't know, one model (or even just two or three for each size) would be become boring fast IMO without heavy graphical customisation options (like adding gimbaling hardware or turbopumps, changing bells size, shape and details, general hardware shape and position and so on).
You would end up in a modeling nightmare.
My suggestion, if you ever start coding such a mod, is to make a sort of plugin that adds tweakables to already existing engines, both stock and modded ones and maybe add just a few graphical improvements.
If you played with the procedural parts mod, you already know what I'm talking about, it does the same thing with SRBs but not with other engines so it could be a cool addition to complete that mod

They will go away eventually
How else do you imagine it?
It's easy to raise the fineness of the size increments but fluidly adjusting thrust and isp for a given size of engine doesn't make sense.
Isp depends on the choice of propellant and the efficiency of your motor which could at most be abstracted as some sort of tech level (which RO already does).
Thrust more or less directly depends on the size of the combustion chamber iirc.
