I'm a little on the new side, I admit. And I go into Clown expecting to be dead by the end, it pretty much comes with the job. But that's the first time that I've ever seen someone obviously validhunting because holy Christ the worst I could have been charged with is Possession of a Weapon.

So much love for this video. I can feel it emanating from its untainted aura, it makes me feel like it's reassuring me that everything will be alright in the world.
Jesus fucking Christ, we let this fucker play Sec?
You attacked me with the cleaver, or at least that's what i saw but i was pretty tired already that rond, that's why I killed you. I already tot fucked that shift because I was trying to be a Nice sec, so sorry to all the innocents I killed.
Securoty rounds like those make me very paranoid
>Pomf unironically wants Trump to win
Why do we trust our server to someone who unironically believes that cementing America as a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie is a good idea?
Who unironically supports a populist in 2015?
I think it's time we had a server staff shakeup. Not it.
I wish Trump would establish a dictatorship. I've been an anti-democratic authoritarian ever since I was first exposed to grand strategy games.
Jingoistic imperialism soon, brothers.
>Pomf unironically wants Trump to win
Maybe I won't make chicken nuggets after all.
Real life isn't fucking video games. This is why gulags were made, for people like you.
You've done fine, in all honesty. When these people play sec for a while themselves, they too will know the unending paranoia that sets deep into the back of your mind, slowly working its way into your consciousness,
and soon you and everyone else who dips their hands into antag/greytide whack-a-mole will embrace the thrill and fun of playing security.
Go get some shut-eye, bub.
You, your liberal friends and your bourgeoie masters days are limited. Please elect trump, by all means. The abysmal collapse that will happen when you put a fucking populist in charge of a hegemon is all we need to spark a revolution.
Yeah its a terrible double edged sword.
It is a great thing for the artist and it'd certainly pull it more folks who might have been more hesitant to commit to the manga (like OPM for me whoops) but yeah, opening the floodgates to the normies can bring a fan base to shit fast.
a really old player. It's not paranoia, just a rightful sense of suspicion. Most long time Sec players know who the antags are and can distinguish between antag grief and greytide. There is only irritation when people who you know aren't antags keep fucking with you for no reason.
I don't remember giving you permission to leave anon.
Five years strong, bud, and I've done sec to death and still play it to this day.
Of course, you get used to it and aren't paranoid 24/7, and I can smell bullshit from a mile away with shitlers, antags, and shitler antags, but not every round is it going to be peachy keen dealing with elusive lings and the clown/greytide as you have to constantly go back to the brig and slap them on the hands for IED'ing the windows or disassembling the chem dispensers. It's those cult rounds that sometimes get on your nerves harder than tetanus that I'm talking about. Mostly, the problem is that even your own fellow sec officers could be a cultist just waiting to do you and everyone else in at the 14:00 hour mark after a long round of dealing with those heretical cum huffers breeding like rats in the maint tunnels.
Though, I will admit, everything else is just 'tard wrangling, fun 'tard wrangling, but still 'tard wrangling.
I think you lost track of which buzzwords you're spewing mate, don't you remember I'm authoritarian? The opposite of anarcho-anything.
Maybe take it back to /pol/ though, since this is a Spessman thread and not for your idle politicking.
All video games have ideas that have bearings on politics, but your obsession with discussing Trump and politics on /vg/ needs to be excised to the politics board: >>>/pol/
And no, Trump isn't in SS13.

What the fuck is wrong with this thread?
Why are there so many deleted posts?
Why can't you fuckers stop clicking around what "this week's shitposting" might be?
The ONLY actual game discussion I've seen this thread so far are people bitching about bad sec.
>Wanting game discussion in a thread about a homicide simulator
One day I'll abduct a grey as a tator clown and force-feed him a feast of water-based foods on a live cooking show with a feed to every camera on the station.
Call it 'Cooking with Clutzy with guest host Yahir!'
Look, if we actually were discussing the game as the game was playing, we wouldn't be playing the round.
The only people that post while playing are the accidental ick ockers. If you tab out to answer the thread's responses to you, you'll get robusted.
So the only people that bump the thread are those greentext stories after a round, the clinically retarded, and the permabanned shitters.
>you try to cuff him and end up cuffing yourself instead
>spend rest of round bucklecuffed in the kitchen being fed burnt messes renamed "shit"
>the unfunnyness hurts more than the food poisoning
Why is the disposals system so fucking convoluted?
If you disposals yourself from Brig you loop around the entire fucking station before ending up in cargo.
There are many spots in maint where the tubes literally loop-de-loop the longest way around for seemingly no reason.

the mime life is a loveless life
I gibbed every body and turned all but one into faggots. I felt bad when rail went to make food and used some of the faggots I had to make a coin
I killed like 5 people, there was only the 3 of the captain and i think 1 of someone else.
Sorry that happened man, I don't get why they were saying you were trying to set me free
>Turns into a wild singleplayer adventure/horror-survival game halfway into the round every single time
>Feel like the round is completely scripted with how it turns out
Does anybody else know this feeling?
>I dont know why dragging someone away who killed just about every head makes it seem like you were trying to free me
There were gibs right next to the gibber and the HoP was rescued. The where did you hide the bodies shit was shoddy because of the big piles of gibs all around the backroom
So now you have a non antag killing because of a very shoddy reason
you also had a vindictive medical doctor trying to execute them rather than let security, or anyone really, do something. Along with the fact they had an advanced Egun and weren't afraid of waving it around or threatening anyone the round became a confusing mess and what seems to be a questionable ban was handed out.
>Guy literally says he's asking me where the bodies are in chat repeatedly while caleigh is reeing
She kept freaking out and made talking about what was going on hard as fuck, and he didn't kill anyone, he just stunned her so she couldn't kill me. Don't get so fucking mad about the antag killing people. 4 pieces of meat doesnt add up to 5 people you auts. Rail cooked up 2 faggots by accident into a hot pocket, I cooked 4 into a burnt shit and just sent out a few other faggots.
>security or anyone
You mean literally no one since they were dead or not around?
Anyone could have done something, but at the end of the day I was the only one after you two because hey its lowpop and someone has to deal with the murder chef
you were out to get valids, which ironically was the iffy reason why sawbones was banned.
They wanted to interrogate the guy and see if there were any bodies - you wanted to feed him water and stunned a lot of people attempting to do that. The fact that you possibly adminhelped - even though you would've probably killed sawbones at that point - is questionable.
Im not mad at you or anyone. Im simply explaining why running away with a criminal who up and murdered half the station can be seen as trying to free him
And he did kill me
>All my interactions with Sawbones was him being nice to me
>He's banned now
I miss him
Happened to me one time as QM when xenos took over the station and I ran down to the roid to grab hardsuits for my cargotechs. When I got back the techs were lying on the floor with facehuggers. And purple weeds all around them. Went to drag one to surgery when I met the queen alien and hunters in medbay. I was chased out the airlock and spaced myself. I could hear all the scream over comms but couldn't do anything but float. Had a full tank of air, a margarita pizza, my QM stamp, and all the day's paperwork in my clipboard completely unsorted or stamped. Cruised along filling out paperwork from the recently deceased techs while singing "I wish I was in Dixie Land." I started go a little nuts and talking to my clipboard. Eventually I landed back on the station. Near the security target range. All the windows were broken, station power was flickering, and the whole place was depressurized. No one was answering over station bounced. Purple weeds and eggs were everywhere. Just as I was contemplating how to get passed them a xeno popped out of the vents. I ran back out to space and the xeno followed throwing face huggers at me but missed. Then thrashed and screamed when it realized it had now way back and drifted off the station. Started drifting again feeling pretty useless when I hit the pirate ship dead center on the window. In the cockpit was the HoS, CMO, and Captain. "We got him." They had been tracking my suit sensors and I was the last survivor. Just us four. At least 20 xenos on the station. We talked it over and the only thing left to do was nuke the station. (continued)
The ship was parked north of the station. As the only unarmed member of the crew I volunteered to stay behind in the ship and coordinate while watching the crew monitor. CMO and HoS went and grabbed the nuke. Captain went tothe bridge to call the shuttle. On the bridge he stopped responding over comms. Vitals still showed him alive. The Captain had the disk on him. Tell the CMO and HoS to get down there but things get to hairy. They're in a huge firefight and being chased through space with the nuke. Then the Captain starts moving again. He's heading back to the ship. Still no answer over comms. Airlocks open and the Captain walks in without a helmet, headset, or mask. "I'm infected. The nuke code is 56782" Then the Captain immediately explodes into a pile of gibs with the nuke disk ontop as a tiny xeno baby scurries off. CMO runs in and grabs the disk. I tell him the code. Nuke is armed and they tell me to get back to the station and evacuate on the research shuttle. Look out the airlock and xenos are swarming the pirate ship. The Captain's baby xeno must have tipped them off. Tell the HoS and CMO to go on without me. Hear them say "We made it." right before I slip into crit with xenos slashing at me as the nuke goes off. I didn't contribute as much as everyone else but it was a hell of a ride.
I'm trying to propose an altered, lower maintenance version of mediumRP week, mandatory trials week.
Executions and MAYBE perma briggings are required to have a trial.
Yes or no?
It's being discussed within admin channels now.
>Start up a trial
>Dickstain clown/mime/assistant/anybody starts shit for attention
>Room devolves to chaos
>Bad man on trial suddenly escapes somehow thanks to it because the one jackass wanted attention
It happens everytime trials happen
Only if it's in-game required. Something where the IAA/Lawyer has to report that the Captain knowingly allowed a criminal to be locked behind permanent bars.
Have a whole system in play where CentComm can actively see if the Crew is commiting crimes against humanity with trials. Sensors going off in Perma without a trial fax being sent in. Require such events to be prefaced by the journalist documenting it with photographic evidence. If not, the subject still remains that there must be evidence in many forms for permabrig or executions. Finally, a shuttle will arrive to take criminals away since they only pose a threat while housed on the station.
It'll have to be a big thing with a lot of thought into it. Otherwise it'd just be shitty.
Nuklear is bringing it up with the other admins and if it doesnt get much negative feedback expect it to start this coming Monday.
Player feedback would be appreciated
Security would be expected to maintain the peace of the court and the judge would have the authority to delay the trial and kick the guy out, if it were really needed asking CENTCOM for courtroom guards would be acceptable and I would grant it, I'd expect them to just sit in the courtroom and keep the peace though.
I'm willing to see what will happen, but I expect the worst outcome.
I'd expect the prosecution to be able to prove their claims against the defendant somehow with either hard evidence, enough circumstantial evidence, or witnesses.
Should we require a jury?
Antags gonna antag regardless if we do this or not. If a griffin's doing it they can expect bans just like any other week.
Just make sure it doesn't sputter down into a bunch of spessmen crying and whining about how it didn't turn out exactly as planned. Already it's hard to find people on station that aren't 100% powergamer shithead or autistic territorial paladin. Keep options open for people who want to mess up the trial so they can get a prisoner to escape or just to unleash criminals onto the station.
>Just make sure it doesn't sputter down into a bunch of spessmen crying and whining about how it didn't turn out exactly as planned.
Yeah I feel you there but that's always the case with medium RP. It's not ALWAYS going to live up to plans and expectations, just like anything else in life honestly, but we'll do our best and the more admins we get on board for it the better it'll likely be.
>eep options open for people who want to mess up the trial so they can get a prisoner to escape or just to unleash criminals onto the station
It's already a bannable offense to aid and assist a prisoner getting released from prison, that's being a dick to security and the crew, and greytiding, messing up the trial intentionally is something we could make specific medium rp bans for I suppose, that'll be discussed when more admins come in. If you guys want that to happen, we can do it.
I hope you aren't using Rule 1 as reasoning to make Perma Escape a bannable offense, because I can already picture a dozen scenarios where it'd be a great story to play out.
I REALLY hope you aren't using Rule 0 as your reasoning.

Working on making the player life ticker more stable as well as toying with a simple implementation of security/medical HUDs. I just woke up so it'll be a bit before I can show anything off.

Made me really upset, had to go to misutto for counselling. Appealon forums when you're ready to apologise.
Wow these admins are thinskinned, holy fuck.
And this was a permaban too.
what, too many security players? need to get them ban valids and prune the playerbase once more? haven't learned from all the other times you forced this shit?
its just antags getting protection from admins when caught while they can do whatever they want
>oh its just an enemy of the corporation lets let him go off with a 10 minute sentence and let him rejoin the crew then evacuate to centcomm its totally in character and proper roleplay
who runs bay anyway? is it some sort of tumblr safe space?
That post was made about two years ago.
There is a two year old child who is under the supervision of someone who administrated for an autistic Space game.
God help them.
How about we institute Holmgang into spess?
Basically, all conflicts and disputes, of murder and especially honor, were fought as a specialized trial by combat, but the combatants could agree on a certain time and place to prepare for combat, usually a small enclosed space.
If they didn't make it to the specified place at the specified time, they are guilty and considered outlaws. They would usually use swords, and only fight to first blood.
The combatants could agree to a time and place like the rage cage/fitness room, and bring a sec officer and a doctor with them to ensure the duel doesn't go south and they only fight to first blood.
They could use the replica claymores/katanas that only deal 10 brute dug up from Xenoarch with a Legionary shield.
Fighting to first blood to determine the guilty, so it's all up to RNG.
>murder boning because "im antag"+ ban increased based on ban appeal
Maybe it's just a rule here, but when you're antag, isn't the goal to make things exciting?
People complain if all you do is just murder some guy and get back to your job.
When I see the Station blown to shreds and the Singulo yakkety saxing around the place, and the Traitor's objective was "Kill Bob", you tend not to see people complaining.
I only play here, maybe it's different.
>antags do nothing for 3 hours
>one is too busy autisming a project
Turn off antag if you don't want to antag.
I was sad more vox didn't visit my house, but at least I got to chill with the cool captain.
how is metacomms viewed on this server? it looks like a lot of admins are reasonable if you have a good explanation for whatever it is you're doing. i have a friend who wants to get into spessmens and i feel like being on skype to help answer gameplay questions would be pretty helpful.
or is metacomms something different entirely
>i have a friend who wants to get into spessmens and i feel like being on skype to help answer gameplay questions would be pretty helpful.
If you're not playing or observing that shift it's okay.
If you want to play at the same time as him, communicate in the game (use say chat or LOOC)
that's it though. if we do play at the same time, in two completely separate departments, shouldn't it be ok as long as we don't 'IC/OOC' and act on meta information?
I was wondering, what if an AI on Asimov decided to borg the entire station to prevent human harm? If everyone was a borg, no human harm would be caused
Could an AI do that without being malf?
Human harm is done when you kill them to make borgs.
An AI that isn't malf can't let that happen, let alone order the thing to be done.
I mean, it's a solid plan, but.
There's a book where the borgs make all the humans sit with folded hands to make em not hurt each other. That's more good intentioned AI.
Borgs can't fully construct other borgs without the autoborger.
The scenario in which a silicon borgs other players is most likely to happen with an emagged MoMMI, not an AI.
Also the ends do not justify the means when it comes to forced borg so it is considered harm. Also nothing states the AI is attempting to reduce chances of harm to 0%.
>never been barman before
>guy comes in shouting AI is malf
>gets dragged away by Cyborg saying everything is fine

>ask Shuttle miners who keep going off safe place how's it going

>"IT IS FINE, HUMANS TAKING NAP"
No problem here AI, you keep doing your job.
My Dreamseeker crashes every time I try to connect to /vg/ server, does anyone know why that might happen?
>get banned for saying "ay lmao" in the middle of chaos

>shadowstep only recquires that you have 10 blood, but doesnt actually use blood
>it's a free blink with basically no cooldown
>you can return to life with 0 blood
>bat form (jaunt) costs 0 blood
Who the fuck coded this gamemode
How would I go about making these vents suck? Could you explain this to me as if I were a five year old? I tried building an air alarm, but the bugger refused to be mounted, said "can't do it here" and all.
Hit the vents and scrubbers with a multitool, and assign them a recognisable name and all of them a specific frequency.
Then, go to your friendly neighbourhood AAC, hit THAT with a multitool (I think), change it to the same frequency as the vents and scrubbers you did, and start setting them to on
Oh, that must've been it, thank you! Would I still need to use the blueprints if I utilized the AAC instead of an air alarm? I tried multitooling some vents to a computer, but it wouldn't do anything coherent
Don't blame Velard for the sins of Kilkun
I have been trying to raise awareness for the fact that Kilkun took the blood cost off more than half the vampire spells and HALVED the touch of death cost for no real reason at all
>Never stay at your desk, you're more useful out in the field
>Lurk maintenance alone - you're a lone wolf
>Don't bring a secure GPS - it'll just give away your position if one of the dopes in sec dies
>Immediately look the armory for ablative and guns at shift start. Bring extra guns in your bag, beyond what you'll need - never know when you want to have extra shots without recharging.
>Walk around with an egun in your hand. Gotta be ready to shoot at a moments' notice.
>Harass regular crewmembers at every opportunity: make sure they know their place
He's a jail warden, numb nuts.
He maintains the brig, watches over the armory, ensures the safety and keeping of prisoners, and hands out necessary equipment.
And holy shit I was accurate, first thing I got from google:
>Prison wardens manage and oversee the activities of correctional facility staff to ensure safety and security of the facility, as well as the proper treatment of inmates.
>decide to clowngimmick as a superhero
>find a PDA with a plasman messaging the guy who released plasma
>present it to security along with his means, oppritunity, and motive
>he was traitor
lesson learned, never trust security
God damn it clown, you and I were right. We were dead on the money about our suspicions.
That's what we get for trying to work with sec instead of working around sec.
Station has limited time to earn its keep by certain metrics (power generated, R&D progress, money made) or else a Centcomm deathsquad shows up and cleanses the station to cut Nanotrasen's losses.
>Those fucking laws
>5. Vox, Plasmamen and Greys are all to be considered human for the purpose of laws.
Just for the purpose of laws? So they're not ACTUALLY human?
>6. Order received through law 2 cannot override other laws, this law overrides law 2 in the case where an order that states to override a law is received.
>law 6 overrides law 2
Your evidence was a PDA message asking someone else "Did you release the plasma?" Explain how that is enough evidence to hold someone. Mime said the message said "Did you release the plasma yet?" Which would show intent to release it. But I checked it a second time and he never said "yet." He just asked someone else in his department if they were responsible for releasing plasma. And that person never responded. That isn't evidence.
Plasma which he released all over the station, and you had messaged him "Did you release the plasma?"
I understand you could have been asking him if he was truly the one who flooded plasma, as to chide him, but it looked suspicious enough to bring you in.
Am I being a retard or is there a reason why I couldn't get most of these computers to work?
I mean somehow the Atmos computer worked (screen was black) but the Arcade didn't.
jesus, that round was frustrating at the end.
The damn radstorm made me unable to speak, I just did dance moves. It also gave my psychic powers so i could find anyone on the station.
I found the HoS but wasn't able to tell anyone (I forgot about PDA, i'll be honest)
Shuttle called, i'm panicking in security, trying to get someone to show up.
some sec dude pops by and I get him to open all the doors for me to find HoS in some storage locker. IDK if he was braindead but I dragged his ass to the shuttle.
Shuttle airlocks are being barriered.... fuck
drag his ass to the escape pods in arrivals, we make it out just in time.
I love this game man... even if i'm really shit at it.
The guy who released plasma was me, the changeling.
Was in jail for it when you were presenting it.
Also, how the hell did I kill Paul?
Flood plasma Mission 6: Minimise casualties. Sheeeit
Every fucking time some cunt adds a "ALL THE NONHUMANS ARE HUMAN TOO" law I lose a lot of respect for them.
Whenever I play a nonhuman role that's part of the fun of it.
I always love the interactions between a nonhuman and a borg.
Especially a relatively-peaceful xenomorph and a borg, those can be some really fun times where you're just chatting about the humies that can't understand you and stuff
How to actually make those laws
> Vox, plasmamen and Greys are human
I don't even understand what the fuck law 6 was supposed to mean, but since law 2 only overrides law 3 to 6, and I think it was meant to prevent people from law 2 : ignore law 5, law 6 should be : Using law 2 to override law 3 to 6 causes human harm.
I didnt release any of the plasma, you saw me giving a CANISTER to a plasmaman and the rest is your imagination, at that time i was looking for my target while helping people around.
>Did you release the plasma?
Fucking science was blaming the guy and i asked if that is the case to put an arrest. i didnt exit science yet by that point, i was on science station making chems
Two players spawn with God arms, one with the right the other with the left. Having both makes you near unstoppable.
Other players can achieve this even if they manage to get both arms, so the round dissolves into an arm hunt.
Triggering god hand casts the slow down spell and doubles your melee damage, as well as making you immune to stuns for the duration of the slow down.
God hand holders are unable to use guns with their god hand.
>Play Warden and try to keep in constant contact with the rest of the officers
>They start going silent one by one and never show up again
how do i cope with this every round
By making sure the chucklefucks have their GPSs on their security belts and suit sensors on.
> Playing any job that's isolated
> Implying it's not the worst dread to hear less and less comms on radio until it's dead silent for tens of minutes
> Your workplace door opens
>playing isolated job
>"OH GOD THE CLOWN IS KILLING EVERYONE, RU-*TZZZZZ*"
>you hear clown shoes outside your door
>playing any job that's not directly adjacent to main hallways
>hear clown shoes
> while wrenched to the same cable.
That's not how cables work.
APCs power entire rooms, you only need to wire the APCs themselves, not the machinery. There's only a few very specific objects that demand direct wiring, mostly engineering stuff.
I'd recommend going like this if you want to build a new room :
Make air-tight frame
Use blueprint to turn into new room, room will become dark if this works
Add APC, Air alarm, lights / vents in that order
Then add machinery and computers
>treating everyone nice, giving them the access they want
>Barney shows up, throws his ID on my desk and asks for access
>I taze him and tell him not to throw things
>retard detective shows up and cuffs him
>didn't realize he was detective, tazem him too
>leave my office and try to uncuff Barney
>the detective stuns and cuffs me
>brings me and Barney to sec
>midway I try to escape, the detective shoots at me with real bullets
>get sent to interrogation room
>detective and HoS ask me to tell my version of the story
>write huge story about how everything happened
>finally the HoS let's me leave
>pay the clown to teach the detective a lesson
As far as I know, if there is no captain the HoP is the acting captain. Then why did the cuck detective try to arrest me? If I commited a crime, it would make sense. But I just tazed a guy
>Be doing virology
>Head back to chem to grab more radium
>Come back to virology
>The clown's in my seat, with all my processed viruses in him, all samples smashed, and the lockable vial crate with the cures is juuust drifting into space along with the monkeys that the cures were born from
I said that to the HoS, and he answered "muh i'm a HoS and I say he can do the job of a sec officer"
No idea, I lost connection and when I got back I was already dead.
Admins hate me, at least 5 people's objectives were to kill me
>Second virologist shows up once
>Trick him into injecting gibbs
>He dies from it later
>Turns out he was a tator and his objective was to protect me
Truly I've become the monster
>the other botanist just grows wood and ambrosia
>epic Hardcore mode is on
I actually don't have a problem with two xenobiologists.
It's not like viro where there's only one set of machine. Two xenobiologists really can work together to increase their slime output. And if one of them fucks up and gets slime glomped, the other can help.
>Needing more than half of botany
Now 3 botanists is where I draw the line. But seriously, after the initial rush of getting together early chef food and plastic for science, all I need is
>2 plots for wheat/potato/tomato abomination for chef upkeep
>1 plot for reserved special requests
>1 plot for my superplant that I'm trying to mutate into the ultimate whatever
I don't need 12 trays set aside so I can grow apples no one is going to eat
It's not about the trays, it's about being able to grow dangerous shit without fear of the other guy eating it or mixing it with the food. And there's only one set of xenobotany machines, so if that guy knows how to use them too, you're going to be stepping on each others toes.
Not mentioning how rare it is to get a floral somatoray, sharing one or having to get two of them is just annoying.
When there's no cap, each head runs their own department and they cooperate as a team of heads. HoP doesn't need to be wandering around engineering telling the atmos techs they're not allowed to set up the engine, doesn't need to be harassing the roboticists for doing R&D, doesn't need to be in sec telling the detective not to make arrests. That kind of thing is up to the discretion of the local department head.
Only once was it fun, the guy was a paper pushing no fun allowed kinda guy, it was great.
Every other time they have their own thing which has nothing to do with your thing.
Even on your own, IAA is a tough life, let alone 2.
Robotics should include more human augmentations. There's a biomechanical roboticist job title, but the only thing they can do is transplant metal limbs and when's the last time anyone requested metal limbs ? You can't even lose a limb without dying so hard you need to be cloned anyway.
1u heals 2 damage of toxin, brute, burn, suffocation. For a comparison, 1u of bicar heals 5 brute, 1u antitoxin 5 toxin, 1u kelo 5 burn, 1u derm 7.5 burn, 1u dexplus all suffocation.
he's right, simply because wheeling a guy to robotics unnecessarily difficult when surgery is right there.
MDs don't even have the access to bring the guy into robotics proper anyway.
making robotics responsible for limb replacement just isn't going to work on box, and there's no reason to have inconsistency over who does what on other maps.
Note how in Deus Ex it's not a medical clinic, it's specialized for augs.
I really want augs in SS13, I can't get enough transhumanism. I want to create the ubermensh with genetics powers and augs
It's probably better if we don't add augs if they're just going to be outright better. Then everyone will have augs and the stream of traffic to go get them, plus the reduced need for biological fixes in favor of mechanical ones, means Robotics would need to be expanded into a full department like medical.
If machine cult ever gets finished, give them augs. Then we've got augs without messing with the whole flow of the game.
Augs are just too revolutionary to be a simple 'code and add it' situation.
if we wanted to just remove the wild ride we could just add machines that full-heal people and stick them in medbay lobby.
I hate to argue intent, but that just feels like it's outside the """"spirit of the game""""
Same argument can be made with mechs. Just make augs really expensive.
Also, not everyone wants to be knocked out and at the mercy of someone while he has multiple killing tools.
Additionally, at this very moment, you rarely see non-geneticists with powers, mainly because people don't even bother going to get powers, even though it makes them straight up better at things.
There are ways to make augs balanced.
Speaking of genetics, it also needs some fixing, fucking RNG garbage.
>They ARE better
>But you're now addicted to neuropozyne and you have to keep taking it or you get limb + toxin damage
>Unless you have a genetic power that makes you immune to rejection sickness
mechs change things as basic as movement behavior though. Most jobs can't be done from the inside of a mech either, seeing as they've got limits on what they can hold and manipulate.
not everyone wants a mech because not everyone wants to play as a mech.
the same cannot be said for augs though, because we don't seem to be talking about anything that radically alters basic interactions, especially if we're talking DX-teir augs.
>out on asteroid in a remote tunnel digging away
>hear clown shoes
but then augs are either mecha-creatine or useless because the neuropozyne is more annoying than the benefit.
if we want to talk something like cyberbrains that open up new vulnerabilities like getting your eyes hacked in exchange for remotely opening doors or operating machines, okay.
I'm just not sure about physical augs being something that can be made into anything that is both balanced and worthwhile. About all I can think of is body compartments that add additional, possibly concealed, pockets.
Otherwise it's just stuff like internal magboots and pressure-resistant subdermal implants that act like a void suit.
Problem is, these things just devalue the existing items.
So what is the best way to start RD? Throw everything in the room you start in into deconstruction, then what? Ask for a drill?
>shitter doesn't even read the fucking wiki
this is why all of our jobs are shit. You fucks don't read.
can we whitelist all the jobs and require them to pass a test or something? The test being "did you read the fucking wiki y/n?"
if by """"robust"""" you mean start fights because you're a shitter, piss off to hippie or something. This is a medium RP server and we dunk shitters like you who think this is a TDM server.
Nah, by robust i mean getting more action that the servers i usually hang in. Im in heavy RPs servers right now and action is getting rare so i though /vg/ would have and bit more blood and guts.
Players are allowed to respond in full force to any emote that already exists in-game as an aggressive/antagonist action under the guise of "act like an antag, get treated like an antag"
Furthermore, if the admins feel like banning shitlers today, "X extends a proboscis" can be interpreted as ERP
>This is a medium RP server
News to me
>463 / 66 / 112 / 1
>Walking in the hallway
>See the HoP stunning someone from his office
>Think he's done something and go cuff him just to make sure
>ask the HoP what the problem was
>he doesn't talk, just tases me all of the sudden
>He get out of his office to do god knows what (how am I supossed to know he's metabuddies with the guy he shot)
>I tase him and cuff him to bring him to brig for an explanation
>I lose him and he tries to escape so shoot his ass
>In brig he begins crying MUH ACTING CAPTAIN MUH ACTING CAPTAIN
>Tell my story and let the HoS decide what to do
Man if you're randomly tasering people don't go around crying that you're acting captain, a captain would get dunked for that too
Space Jesus is the most boring Chaplain to play though.
It's either Gay Chaplain or a chaplain that will be sure to piss everyone off.
Starting a fight for shits and giggles isn't allowed, if you have an easily pissed off person and someone annoys them and you do the escalation thing, you'd be alright. But punching the Captain in his stupid face the second the round starts is gonna get ya banned.
i don't want to go from utter calm to utter chaos sempai, i-it would be too much for my poor heart ;_;
Anyway i think i know the problem. That panic bunker thingy must be on.
>but it's still very much and RP server.
It won't get you banned, you just can't put them to crit. When you fuck around like that, then the red gestapo step in from the brig to hand out free cuffs and cranial decorations.
I dunno, everyone seemed to like my Tech Seer gimmick when I did that.
>blessing the engines to appease machine spirits
>calling upon the Omnissiah to unlock the hidden potential in vending machines and repair hacked doors
HoP even gave me engineering access
>This is a medium RP server and we dunk shitters like you who think this is a TDM server.
Trespassing into the kitchen for no raisin is a clubbing.
If you're being a cunt by making poisonous/inedible/no food, then you deserve to have your safespace raided and nobody will defend you.
There's a very nuanced difference to be made here.
You're free to club the shit out of anyone that breaks into your kitchen PROVIDED THAT YOU'RE DOING YOUR JOB, because if you are doing your job, then there's no reason for anyone to be breaking in except for stealing your shit.
>breaking window into engineering
>CE scrubgloves me and puts me in a welded locker, then fucks off
it was malf
after the delta announcement
he immediately died to a shocked door due to still wearing the gloves
as long as you aren't beating the guy into crit or killing him, beat his ass nigga
fuck that. beat him into crit then dump his body in primary hallways. if he dies then he dies. so long as you don't gib the body and you didn't start it then you're in the clear.
