Attila is an unoptimized mess, try this launcher fix to try and improve performance.
Launch Rome 2 then launch Attila instead from the Total War launcher. FPS can increase anywhere between 1 to 25.

First for stop fucking stabbing me.
Already asked this in the other thread, but haven't got any responses.
I'm playing SS for the first time, early era as Denmark and I'd like to know if you guys have any tips that will help me survive.
3rd for Carthaginians swerve
Almost all of my campaigns
except for 2: the very first campaign Rome Brutii and Rome Iceni
Not all were fully completed with victory conditions
adjective: swarthy; comparative adjective: swarthier; superlative adjective: swarthiest
"she looked frail standing next to her strong and swarthy brother"
synonyms: dark-skinned, olive-skinned, dusky, tanned, saturnine, black; archaicswart
"his swarthy complexion"
why do some units some times start half dead?
they are at full health when I'm attacked, but when i start they are in the red, and this is only the second turn, i wasn't sabotaged , its not the mod (earlier version of DEI) because it happens sometimes in vanilla too
Why did no one ever tell me about the moor rape train that comes from the south in the last roman campaign?
>no mod to let you play as said moors
it annoys me because everytime you go to select a faction in a campaign, the start date is located next to the faction, as opposed to somewhere else on the campaign screen, implying that there is, was, or could be the integration of later-start factions. but there isn't, the date is redundantly included in the faction tab.
I was separatist and already got 3 regions closest to the starting point when they attacked. Don't even remember them being a threat, killed like 3 stacks and they fucked off, raped them later.
hundreds of thousands, if not millions; Jerusalem is filled with rifle-armed kikes that would shoot back
And our modern soldiers cant use guns either because firearms use explosives to propel the bullet forward
>how many modern soldiers would it take to conquer jerusalem if they couldn't use modern weapons?
>internal combustion engine uses tiny explosions
>gunwpowder is an explosive
>your enemies will have these things
>you have to use sailing ships and horse-drawn carriages to transport supplies
>this army of millions would starve and be shot to death
Conclusion: victory impossible
>250 hours in Rome 2
>Get my arse handed to me on normal in Attila
>Now it's a lot more important to keep generals alive as they are heirs and shit
>Keep losing entire royal families
Shit, didn't explain myself correctly,I'm talking about medieval jerusalem protected by medieval soldiers, and modern soldiers can't use any type of explosives like C4 or TNT,powder in bullets is okay though.
Need more details, did this modern army suddenly just go back in time? They need a persistent supply chain so they dont starve to death.
And then there's all the diseases they'd be exposed to that we havent seen for generations, namely smallpox and the plague.
Or is it Jerusalem suddenly replaces modern Jerusalem and Israel lays siege to it, in which case why would the sieging army limit themselves to trebuchets, ballistae, and onagers?
Stupid idea desu. They'd be scattered and confined in a city where they lose their range advantage. Much easier to gang up on them and get into hand-to-hand. And fuck off soldat.
Well it's not like the streets were filled with medieval soldiers and people in the city wouldn't expect something as absurd as modern soldaten suddenly appearing from the sky and won't know their intent
Alright, let's see,the soldiers have enough supplies to last, say, two months, they also have siege equipment of every type possible, and they also know how to use it(they just do),they have huge quantities of ammunition, but they are limited to weapons like assault rifles,shotguns,pistols...no grenade launchers, missile launchers or sniper rifles though.
i finally brought myself to play through Rome2 roman campaign (emperor edition)
thing is , i didn't bother politics at all and didn't mind which generals i'm using
i want civil war but it seems im stuck at around 25% influence. it seems to naturally increase but it's annoyingly slow
i have max imperium and built colosseum, pantheon etc. but my civil war meter is 0 (although max imperium should make civil war happen fast)
i tried 0% influence but civil war didn't happen
Promote your family members.
Assassinate those of your enemies.
who should i assassinate? high gravitas guys?
but it takes away 5 senators and takes multiple turns to recover, and 0% influence on me didn't incite civil war if that's what you mean
> When my general or theirs had died
> When me or the enemy gets reinforcements
> when any of my units route
> when I'm outnumberd
> when they are outnumberd
> when I'm losing
> when I'm winning
And turning off the option won't turn him off, he sounds like a barbarian cookie monster and it's getting annoying
>Win dozens of battles with my heir, has a champion with him
>Killed by a spy from some shitter minor nation
No anime in /twg/
should i do it?
WRE is almost gone, Italy is the only intact province left, with a town or two in gaul , the rest destroyed by WRE rebels
I'm already friends with the huns, and this would only further cement our partnership
>Aizu, for some reason, decide to become Imperialist and decide I need to go
>They attack while my army is turns away, stuck in a shitty place with rebels
>Spend all of my coin that my weak economy allows to beat them back
>After their attack fails, another clan that I was trading with goes Imperialist and declares war on me
I just want friends. Can't I have any friends?
Oh, this is a bunch of horseshit. How does this nigga have so many provinces at the start of the campaign?
But I'll give you military access for five turns for some shekels.
Well, I didn't expect it to make a vassal so easily.
Why does everyone hate me? This Clan isn't anywhere near me!
it always gets lonely this time of year
I have a /his/ thread open in another tab, that place is terrible. There are some autists actually arguing with a shitposter that a marble statue is not, in fact, an ash-fossilized man from Pompeii. I will always appreciate you, twiggy
Just finished the campaign that was started 2.5 years or so..
I discovered /his/ recently. I can only imagine it had more engagement while it was fresh. Most of the threads there are OPs asking a question and some guy comes up with his summary to answer and the thread dies in between blatant shitposts and uneducated shitposts. Otherwise it's just:
>Vikings are shit threads
>Who are the ancient Greeks/Romans/Egyptians
>What went wrong
Rome 1 vanilla and the XGM mod, which I just finished, doesn't have that kind of penalty. You do have to cut down the cities' population regularly to make it economically productive though.
Thanks. It's the Extended Greek Mod mod..fun campaign.
>playing teutonic kingdoms
>event to switch to christianity as lithuania
>lose 14att/16def cheap as fuck unit for some shitty expensive knights with worse attack down the line, and gunpowder units
fuck that son, perkunas for lyfe
the forests of northern europe are vietnam and I'm the vietcong
found a combination of mods that almost fixes the blobbing particle effect solider problem of R2
its not the best fix there is, using any mods that increase unit size makes it looks odd, but it definitely helps ,
> any unit spacing mod will do
> a mod called "matched combat begone"
it removes the matched combat animations, so the only one-on-one animations that occur are the kill animations
> a mod called
I kinda liked Attila, should I use precious shekels for Charlemagne ?
>mfw 25% of Germany died in that war
Is there a way to get rid of the public order debuff on harder difficulties? It's horribly artificial, and makes just feels like it drags the game out. I'm not generating much money, so I only have one full stack, a half stack, and a small garrison force. I can't go to take new provinces because I have to keep my armies in garrison, and I can't seem to pull my public order up enough to negate the -2 penalty.
>mfw someone posted some random image of the war and I spotted one of the commanders in the image being from my house of ancestry.
>population is pissy bc shitty living conditions
>need to keep your economy in a deficit wit dem programs to keep em happy
>realise the only way to replenish your treasury or to generate a proper revenue stream is to go to war to acquire richer lands
it's almost like... total war got that one right
Yooo, so why does Attila have mixed reiews on Steam? I was told by a few mates that it was actually a very solid game and it fixed a lot of problems that Rome 2 presented.
I can get the game and all the dlc with it, minus the extra campaign's for pretty cheap.
Should I do it?
yer m8s are correct. it has mixed reviews because it's to rome 2 what barbarian invasions + alexander was to rome 1 - more difficult, deeper, significantly less casual. the people who le downboated it are classiboos who either hated the setting (which is good), the atmosphere (which is goty 10/10 amazing), or the difficulty (not fucking that hard at all, very hard/legendary should be the go-to for any seasoned total war/civ player)
buy it all baby, best decision i've made in a while
Poor optimization which often kills the ratings of games (just look at Just Cause 3 and Blops 3), misplaced anger about DLC, and the free weekend dragging in a bunch of TWC-tier autists.
personally i haven't noticed it being worse than rome 2 in regards to optimisation, but i guess i must have lower standards or something? like are the people saying this bitching that it isn't 60fps on ultra or something?
Most of the fucking reviews don't even review the fucking game, which is retarded. They just scream how great medieval is and don't even look at the prons and cons of Attila.
They just say, MEDIEAVAL WAS BETTER HAAAR HAAAR DOWNVOTE.
I have a decent computer so it's not a big problem for me. It does run noticeably worse than Rome 2 for me though, I rarely budge from 60 fps on that.
Even the most useful negative review just exhorts you to buy RTW instead (which is completely fucked on steam), and unironically calls it more realistic.
Yes..it's a fun mod. Gameplay wise, it's very similar to that of Rome 1 vanilla. However, recruitment and upkeep costs are higher; culture will make pacification difficult; and combat is more realistic.
Unit rosters for all of the factions have been modified to be realistic of the time period and expanded. The Greeks have been given the biggest overhaul when it comes to units. So, that's why I chose them. The victory condition of the Greeks will require you to deal with Macedonia, Seleucids, Thrace, Rome, Gauls, and others.
It's even odder because I can play vanilla on max settings no problem, it says its on max when playing XGM but the moment you move on from the menu even the loading screen becomes shoddy.
>starts 2 world wars
>kill 6 million innocent people based on their race
>allows terrorists to cross german border to attack France
Are germans just naturally evil or what?
Yeah well charlemange did nothing but help the christians maintain a stranglehold over europe therefore prolonging the dark ages. So germans set Europe back a couple centuries again. Just think. If germans didn't exist we'll be colonising other galaxies by now.
>mfw this is what some atheists actually believe
Unfortunately even she can't escape the "Germ"an inside of her, using her position to doom Europe to another hundred years of petty violence, civil unrest and war.
Even when they try to be nice they can't help themselves.
Fun fact: french soldats were buried in individual graces with white crosses while german soldaten were buried in mass graves with black crosses after ww1. It's black because germans are evil.
>taking this bait because bored
Even if she is trying to do the right thing, her naivety and incompetence will take the previous noble action of taking immigrants in sensible numbers so they can assimilate whilst ensuring the country can provide for both itself and newcomers, to flooding the country with ill-educated masses who cannot be looked after properly and will be concentrated in low-income ghettos where they will struggle to get jobs and assimilate to the larger culture.
Typically resulting in a mistrust or even hostility to authorities, already evident in the "no-go" zones for police and even ambulances.
Not to mention the taking in of refugees will not solve the problem in Syria nor stop the flood of people trying to escape said problem, it also rewards the human traffickers who benefit from this disaster because they tell desperate people of the benefits in other countries literally half a world away. When the best solution would be to look after the refugees in their own country.
Germany literally cannot help but fuck it and Europe over and Merkel is a masochistic, self hating troglodyte
You like it too much. Nobody can discuss flaws because "HURDUR MUH BEST TOTAL WAR SO HARDCORE SUCH SETTING SO PERFECT U PROBABLY HAVE A TOASTER THATS WHY YOU DONT PLAY IT EVERY SECOND"
that's certainly not what I've ever said here; I've tried to get a discussion going about flaws like the overly forced nature of the climate change mechanic, bugs CA won't fix like attacking testudo, and factions and rosters that should be expanded or reworked. or new factions that should be added all together (tfw no sclavenian invasion of the balkans to undertake). do share your opinions on that.
We really ought to break up Germany
Give the Rhineland to France, Bavaria should become its own independent nation (barred from theEU), Schleswig-Holstein should become part of Denmark, the northwestern pieces should be split among the Netherlands and Belgium, the central western regions should become a bunch of tiny nations based around local large towns/cities (again, all of which are barred from the EU) and the whole eastern chunk should be made a Russian client again
Cold Was 50 years of peace without Germany doing anything since it was split up. Now it's in one piece again and it's ruining Europe, I wonder why.
How do you loot and burn villages in battles in Attila? I remember seeing something in pre realease videos about there being a setting to enable your men to just loot and burn as they please.
Also how do you burn them down effectively in battles?? Archers seem to do fuck all against buildings, even straw and wood barbarian ones with flaming arrows. The only luck I've had is through burning watchtowers and hoping fire spreads.
A unit needs to have the raider trait. Not all units can do it.
To me it happens automatically as that unit moves through the settlement. They throw torches at nearby buildings as they move along.

You should include the Habsburgs. Their megalomania is responsible for so many damn wars in Europe. With exception to a Napoleon or a Hitler normally one in Europe only sought to be a hegemon by consent and not by force. They wanted or tried to rule every damn dynasty and kingdom in Europe like a familial mafia. They brought us the Eighty Year's war, the 30's year war and the incredible devastation it brought to Germany, spearheaded the heavy handed treatment of Protestants that divided Europe when it ought to have been united against the Ottomans, spent more time trying to assert their claims in Europe than in fighting the Ottomans in the Mediterranean.
However consider all the great accomplishments of German commoners or lower nobility and you end up with a positive impression. But holy shit there is something deficiency wrong with the German aristocracy and ruling class.
>When I see neo-reactionaries advocating a return to monarchism on /pol/ Nothing wrong with being a monarchist for an existing constitutional monarchy but these simpleton faggots want us to return to divine right of kings. They're ideas-guys idiots on par with the "Communism will work because it'll be the exact communism I imagine (:". I'd sooner back fascism and do so happily than I would someone trying to return to powerful monarchies.
No, it's because a german in in charge
West Germany was run by the tardfats, and the German Democratic Republic was under the guiding hand of the CCCP, which meant no German was there to lead them to retardation.
>Rome fell because Germans led Germans to wreck Rome
>proceed to invade the British Isles and lead what could have been a power house (the Romano British) and make England irrelevant until Franco-celts would take charge (reminder that you cant replace a population, only rule it or be absorbed into it)
>German idiot decides to print bibles willy-nilly causing thousands of monks to lose their jobs handcrafting more bibles
>said information causes more retardation leading to fanatical germans throwing people out of windows and starting a war that kills off 25% of the population
>Habsburg Wars of Inbreeding and Succession
>Prussian gemaniggers constantly starting wars for 2 square meters of useless dirt
>Bismarck goes full retard and thinks it's a good idea to unite the special needs ethnicity of Europe
>Willy singlehandedly starts WW1 and completely slaughters millions of French civilians
>Allies stupid enough to let Germans lead themselves even after the war (likely due to germanic blood in them)
>Germans decide to blame their situation on everyone but themselves
>decide to get a literal racist nazi to be in charge
>retard of the millennium causes the deaths of tens of millions of people around the world, tens of millions of them being civilians and killed for retarded reasons
>Allies finally realize letting Germans be in charge of themselves is a shitty idea
>Germans weed themselves into space programs in the self-destructive anglodyte nations and the CCCP
>proceed to give out ICBMs that could destroy all of civilization
>now in one piece
>pushing policies that are going to completely ruin Europe
Yeah, liberals are the problem
Youd think there'd be a total war based on WW2 going by how popular a topic it is here.
Holy shit, there isnt? So its totally irrelevant? So you can shut up about it now and go back to /his/?
>We turn into /gsg/
I don't think we've sunken that far yet.
I don't think I was ready for this much bait, but here we go
>rome fell because germans led germans to wreck rome
Yes, because an incompetent emperor in the west put the military in shambles by trumping up charges for treason against its hafu commander stilcho, and killed him. Which was followed by roman aristocrats putting to death their contracted german commanders at their estates etc, which sent a wave of violence against germans across the empire which set in motion alarics march on rome to free their people. Stilcho failed to understand the need for strong men to arise and defy authority if it is weak. He may have been a good general, but he lacked political savvy.
>Invade british isles, and rekt it
It was okay, they had quite a few cities in roman style with elites imitating roman governance. However, by the 5th century they were all poor as fuck due to the shifting of climates, etc. Good quality wine used to be grown along the dry eastern shore of england. Due to a lack of strong local government there due to poor political elites, they began to import companies of germans etc to act as their house bodyguards, kill their enemies, etc. Eventually they realized that the political elites were actually powerless, and that they could just take over the system replacing them. For the most part, peoples life went undisturbed. England had been depleted of human life quite significantly due to reasons still not well understood.
>printing bibles put monks out of business
No, monks put themselves out of business once they began to collect large land estates that they greedily held. Should have sold off/rented the land and explored more resource intensive ways of developement. The carmelites I believe used to produce beers as a past time. Or just begin to operate the printing machines themselves as a form of cottage industry in which monks would produce vast quanities of books.
Marx was German
Germans honestly need to be deported around the world and forced to marry into other races or recieve chemical castration if they refuse to do so. Getting rid of the German identity will do wonders for the world. the Refugees easily pose a solution, but as usual, Germans are too stupid to see that they could enforce men to take a syrian wife and women to take a syrian husband, solving both the mystery of what to do with them, and breaking cultural barriers to get rid of the racist german attitude that keeps the immigrants confined to camps that Hitler would be proud of
If I copy the sounds folder from Stainless Steel and slap it on vanilla will it work or fuck everything?
Really I just want the war horn sounds when the cavalry charges... But it's a weird thing to google and I'm not getting anywhere fast so I thought I'd ask here.
>fanatical germans tossing people out of windows
No, those were Czechs, who were tired of being under colonization by germans from more prosperous areas. They rallied behind Jan Hus as a cultural figure that stood against the authority of the pope (though he mostly just repeated what he knew from Wyrecliff on that), as well as challenged the German run university in Prague. They wanted their native language to also be a language of study/business in the university. The university masters refused. So they tossed shitheads out the window that challenged the mighty Czech spirit, and turned back 8? or more crusades against them until their organization split and collapsed. This was actually what predicated the reformation, since these heretics won a special license from the pope themselves to practice their religion with freedom from persecution, it also challenged papal authority since they removed crusader scums with impunity. Additionally, it was a shadow of what war would be to come, as the cannon and pistol were used extensively by the Bohemian general whose victories would put him up there as a candidate for best general out there. Guy got the fucking plagued and did a tactical artillery breakthrough from an encirclement way before artillery was even on the minds of military commanders. (1453 and the fall of constantinople is often seen as a marker for the change in warfare, I would disagree and say it happened during the Hussite wars since it was integrated within combat operations as tools of the battlefield)
Historical Anomaly. Like playing grand stratagy with random lucky nations on. They managed to inherit the spanish throne and phillip ruled both a vast and mighty spanish empire, was the king of the holy roman empire through family, and had lands in present day netherlands and belgium due to fucking chance. The nobility was naturally headed towards inbreeding, since the aristocracy was constantly tightening becoming fewer in number
I would make a backup of the vanilla sounds folder and do it. I can't say if they would have renamed or edited entries in it that would have caused problems for you.
Best case scenario it works, 2nd best is some sounds work, worst is a CTD and you made a backup so you can just revert to it.
Went to Franklin Institute's Genghis Khan exhibit before it ended on Sunday. Was neat, though I think a lot of the information there one could find on their own and I'm never really sure when/if artifacts are the real deal or when they are re-creations because of how precious they would be to showcase not in airtight air controlled containers.
The lamellar was almost certainly not the real deal since it was out where you could touch it (though that'd be faux pas). But it looked legit and it was great to get a view of lamellar in real life as wrapping my head around how the loops and lames work together had been a bit tricky to discern.
Nice guy, that Chiggis.
I'll try that.
I hope it works. Far as I can recall there's only 1 horn sound in vanilla. Hopefully it's able to tell the game to pick out of a list of the horn sounds and that the rest of SS isn't required.
Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven? Behold, now, the terrible vengeance of the Forsaken!
actually there were two defenestrations... first started the Hussite rebellion as you said. It happened basically because people of Prague were mad that Jan Hus was burned in Konstanz.
The second defenestration was the one that started the 30 years war. This time people were angry, that habsburgs took their religion freedoms. This rebellion was crushed pretty quickly, but it is now considered to be start of the war.
Also there was one less famous defenestration between them in 1486 because of some religious conflict between catholics and utraquists.
It looks like pushing poloticians out of window is some kind of Czech national tradition.
>playing Broken Crescent
>try to get a trade deal with Crusaders for 10 turns
>have worse starting relations with them than the muslims
>finally get a trade deal which they immediately break the next turn by attacking Cyprus
Fucking fr*nks. It's historically accurate I guess.
YOU CANT CONQUER THE MAP IN TW WARHAMMER
WHAT THE FUCK
>Czech national tradition
You have been visited by the Czech defenestraters of politicians! Merkel, Obama, and Putin will be pushed from a window in Prague but only if you post "Czech out the view!" in this thread.
>tfw you've never finished a single campaign nor come close to conquering the whole map despite putting well over 1000 hours in to all the TW games
Really makes no difference to me desu senpai
I gave it a shot. Tried early campaign for a dozen turns or so.
Is the later campaign better? Every troop you can recruit in early that isn't cav is absolute shit. Archers are worthless now, I don't like that at all.
And even the later campaign seems like a clusterfuck of units that you recruit just because they're available, not because you're building your doomstack field army.
I'd say so, you don't have to wait as long for the unit events and some of them have already fired in the late campaign making those units available.
http://www.stainless-steel-mod.com has a pretty comprehensive list.
>you start at the same spot on the map, no matter what race you play
>absolutely no mod support whatsoever
>cant even conquer the whole map, can only conquer your nemesis
so im just gonna skip this one, you guys have fun
>absolutely no mod support whatsoever
>this meme again
What's the fucking point in even having the entire map? Might as well just have an Orc campaign where you fuck around in the Badlands because that's literally all you are going to do then
>play rome 2
>play as barbarians
>ahistorically reform tax process and warring strategies
>empire extends from england to the balkans
>instead of adopting roman armor, weapons and technology, all of my units are still shirtless, mustached barbarians
Whats the fucking point?
Remember in Medieval 2 when upgrading armor, your units' armor would be TOTALLY DIFFERENT on the battle map?
What the fuck happened, how can you drop the ball this much
I cant play attila or rome 2, its fucking disgusting
>you start at the same spot on the map, no matter what race you play
What the fuck are you talking about? I'm guessing you're referring to the fact that separate lords start in the same spot, that the races start in the same spot.
>>cant even conquer the whole map, can only conquer your nemesis
No, you can only conquer specific settlements according to your race. Humans will conquer standard cities not dead badlands territories or caves, since humans don't like living there. But when Skaven are added, like the skaven they are, they can just take over anything. Then humans can take human style skaven cities and dwarves can take skaven caves.
I couldn't adopt crossbows, full plate, or pike and shot (even if the last two weren't broken) as the Byzantines in M2 even if I'd conquered the entire Mediterranean. It was a nice cosmetic touch but it was nowhere near what you're making it out to be.
[sarcasm] God I love the 'conquer entire Warhammer map' debate. Absolutely amazing. [/sarcasm]
So, first you slaughter all the rats (along with Skaven) to prevent them replenishing Skaven ranks.
Then you slaughter every single woodland creature to prevent them replenishing Beastmen.
Then you slaughter every single Dwarf - 'cause those fuckers don't know the meaning of the word SURRENDER. (Book of Grudges anyone?)
Then you burn down everything just to make sure all Orc/Goblin spores are destroyed and they have nowhere to spawn again.
Then you destroy every graveyard to the bone so the Undead can't raise their host - along with all the Necromantic books, and (just to be sure) anyone that can read, so the Necromancers of both types can't rise again.
After that you are free to march into the Chaos Wastes where your glorious army will gleefully embrace Chaos (Khorne, most likely), join the Horde, and walk back home in style - razing everything that's left around them.
[sarcasm] Excellent plan, my lord! Worthy of Sigmar himself! [/sarcasm]
>le m2 no mod support meme
CA released an unpacker which is basically all we needed to mod our shit. If CA released an unpack tool for warshit games we'll be able to even mod the map.
Do Tanukhids get any special units based on their religion like the other desert kingdoms do? About to start a legendary campaign with them once Attila finishes downloading.
Fucking Attila just disappeared. Huns are running rampant in North Italy but no sign of Attila so I'm not engaging until I can rofl stomp him personally.
Not to mention the clusterfuckery of all these minor empires vying with each other.
Thanks for the advice. Already tried that and, unfortunately, he's not.
I think I fucked it up and made him a statesman, though. I chased him with some spies and wounded him a couple of times. I'm gonna keep killing generals until - hopefully - he replaces one of the leaders I killed.
Is it possible to assassinate him 3/4 times and he stops spawning? Or do I need to annihilate him in a cataclysmic battle?
Is the 1648 mod for Medieval 2 any good? I'd really want me sum P&S after playing EU4 nonstop due to
a poor laptop ;_;. Thanks in advance.
It's difficult to tell. The best aspect of it is the fact that it puts you in a scenario which is really fun as you do not get to play this in vanilla total war. On the other hand the game mechanics are really weird. Sieges are broken, more than the vanilla m2 counterpart (for example- I am being shot at during the whole siege yet the walls are empty)
You just have to try and see for yourself. It's fun by being unique, but this would have worked better with empires: total war.
>pike and shot
ZZZZZ.... zzzzZZzzz..... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
There have been numerous undisputable masterpieces in total war modding, such as the strikingly realistic classic Europa Barbarorum or its medieval counterpart Stainless Steel. Radious mod will not join their ranks; its surface is too generic, its presentation too provocative and its messages too obscure. Its take on the abysmal is an illumination in one person’s despair, but a paroxysm of another’s perversion. It will remain underground – treasured by the most avant-garde among intellectuals for its edifying if horrifying insight into the fundaments of human morality. Philistines and self-proclaimed critics alike will shun Radious mod, but you can’t fault them for that. It takes wisdom to appreciate its subtleties, and courage to side with the unpopular opinion. Sed domi maneas paresque nobis novem continuas fututiones.
Superficially, Radious mod appears to be a mod which caters to the most proletarian among men; aloof critics dismiss it as such often without a second thought. As complacent as these self-proclaimed "understanders of strategy" are, they fail to realize that Radious mod is a cult classic, a chef d'oeuvrea buried under false preconceptions and unfounded criticism. This gem is hidden because it does not shine; it is buried because its tone is that of abyssal black. Radious mod pries into to the darkest corners of our subconscious, the most visceral of our cognition, the most carnal of our urges, and the most primal of our instincts.
As brilliantly put by Cattalus, "Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo"; to describe the artistic qualia of Radious mod would be to describe music to the deaf, color to the blind or beauty to the philistine. The painting speaks for itself, and it is up to the player to fully absorb its depth. Its sublimity will ever be debated yet always remain objectively irrefutable; the fundamental insight it provides into human and perhaps animalistic nature may shape the basis of Total War modding for centuries to come.
What kind of memetard are you exactly? So what do you suggest? Recruiting 5 cannons for each army so I can perform sieges without extreme unnecessary losses? I wish we could IP ban people like you
>I should be able to capture cities with no loss without bringing in artillery
See those walls in the background? Impenetrable by cannon fire. You would know that if you had played the mod, so your smart ass remarks are irrelevant
>that qt3.14 signifier
>New to TW
>get shogun 2
>chose the first clan
>dudes with the spears right
>try being tactical in the forest

>everyone is at the foot of the mountain that I was trying to get to
so is the learning curve hard?
>he lost the very first battle in Shogun 2 against the rebels
Fuck this stupid ugly game.
every game before and including shogun 2 had better looking units, on any detail level
this is fucking atrocious and terrible
And if you put it above the minimum? framerate drops horribly.
>try it again
>position archers at the top mountain bit
>their general comes along and fucks my archers up
>have to fight two battles because the rebels ran away
>no sending a unit of Ashigaru spears to protect the archers
>probably didn't use spear wall either
>bringing this much shame to your daimyo
Not the same anon. Some of the total war games are bad at detecting your pc specs and send you into medium mode. You might have to tinker with a text file to make sure you get the max settings
If you are speaking of Attila the solution is quite simple. Prioritize public order over money, this usually means building a Warlord's Hall etc. as the barbarians instead of a City industry building for example.
You make Berserk sound like a shit trait. What's the point of it then? If it is truly RNG I'd hate for it to trigger on my own guys.
I see. How do I take advantage of this then? Tire them out as quickly as I can?
It is actually a very solid game and I personally prefer it to Rome 2. It looks better than than R2 but at the cost of performance. I have a powerful rig so I'm able to run it maxed out in 1440p resolution.
I'm pretty sure they only attack the enemy, you just have no control over them when they are bersek.
It is a negative trait to balance their sick stats and other very powerful traits.
Im not really sure what triggers it, I think its completely random because sometimes my units go berserk at the very start of the fight
Also forgot to mention once they do go berserk, you cant control them. They'll just attack whatever unit is close to them
And the "fresh" status stays on until they cool down, which is also random
Guys I don't know what to play until Warhammer , Fallout what a shit and now the only thing I have is Hearthstone.
Turn on the "unlimited video memory"
Everything max except the following:
Anti aliasing - MLAA
Shadows - Max Performance
Particle effects - Quality
Screen Space Reflections - Quality
Unit Size - large
V-sync - off
SSAO - off
Distortion Effects - off
Vignette - Off
Proximity fading - off
Bloom Effects - off
Should run just fine with these
16 gb RAM@2400mhz
2x GTX 780 in SLI@1300mhz
I'm completely fine with only shadows and reflections turned low @1440p. Maybe in 4 full stack battles the fps gets in the sub 45 which is still playable otherwise it is stable 60fps
first soldiers would take valuables. then surrounding peasant fucking shits would take what was left and much of the clothes and equipment.
Then depending on if they were domestic soldiers their loved ones would collect them and bury them or if they were the invading force their bodies would probably ransomed or just given to the other side.
if it was too far away the local civies would just bury them in mass graves
>spend most of my campaign capturing territory for the Thirteen Colonies in preparation for them joining me
>things are going well they now own 90% of the American theater, no frogs in sight
>the Cherokee declare war on them
>Thirteen Colonies end up fucking the native dindus up and take Cherokee Territory
>the only bit of land I need to get the Thirteen Colonies to join me
>mfw they won't trade for it
>mfw 10 years to win the campaign
>mfw I still need to invade India
>mfw France and Spain at war with me
How do I fucking fix this?
I'll play some Diablo 3 in the new season and try to learn drawing digitally properly.
Also sports and work.
There's so much stuff you can do that's not playing games.
Sengoku Jidai is somewhat interesting because it was during the introduction of firearms.
The problem with those settings are that we don't know an awful lot about them
You're also really limiting them by only chosing 1 very strict geographical location, Vietnam/Laos could probably be done on a larger scale with Khmers etc.
Military technologies upgrade your factions default general unit. Romans get Comes to replace the Palatina Guards. Most factions have 3 tiers of general units and they are exclusively available to generals and governors. You can't select units the same way as in Rome 2.
Ain't even mad. Already used 1 mace and nothing in the other arm, now he has 95 percent dodge rate
I haven't play Attila in a long time, going to give WRE another try, has Christianity buildings been balanced? I remember I would just demolished them and replace them with pagan buildings.
Paganism is the easier path by far, lots of gold from theatres, +2 sanitation for FREE, no maintenance cost for religious buildings etc.
Not sure why CA memed THIS hard on Christianity desu
christianity is actually good in the late game, when money is no longer an issue and food is scarce, also ecumenial matters with -5% corruption thing becomes pretty good once you no longer need the public order bonus from the bread and circusses
I haven't had an issue with the RNG system. AI can be dumb at times. Mostly path finding issues with impressive units for AI, which devs had said they're aware of. Wouldn't have recommended it 6 months ago but it's pretty awesome, getting better with patches.
Just recently played ere and I converted to paganism. Regardless the income boost and free money on turn 2 is always necessary and preferrable to dealing with an empire that was set up by a monkey with a typewriter who was told to "just fuck our shit up"
These factions are virtually made to be converted. The hun bonus against christianity is the game's way of saying "convert you crazy bastard!"
I did and there's no instructions for installing it for Attila. Doing the first bit has no effect on my game.
What version of GEM do you have?
The White Huns absolutely annihilated the Sassanids in my recent ERE campaign and it was easy to befriend them when I launched my offensive against the east. Before the white Huns it felt like the Sassanids were the only real threat in the world.
>the Sassanids were the only real threat in the world.
yeah I get that. I never got to experience Attila without the White Huns but I can see how hard it must've been for the Empires of Sand factions to expand. Ypou either trigger Roman nato or Sassy Nato. Now I can fuck with the Sassanids since they're busy with the W-Huns
>but I can see how hard it must've been for the Empires of Sand factions to expand
I think it was pretty fun, you had to find the sweet spot to turn on the sassies and make peace with the ERE, also camels are so overpowered that you rip sassies to shreds anyway
/tg/ nerd here
bought all these games to see what i'm getting into when the warhammer one comes out
is the unit AI supposed to be so fucking retarded in rome 2?
my units keep just... standing around doing fuckall
>make peace with the ERE
I have a active mission for that but I'm confused. I've been at peace with them since the start of the campaign.
>also camels are so overpowered
so I've heard. recently got armored camels. this gon be fun
>playing sassinids pre-yt huns v playing sassies after yt huns
well I guess to make peace you have to start a war with them first :^), in my case when I played Himyar I declared war on them to grab Egypt and made peace soon after to prepare for a war with the Sassanids
>recently got armored camels
well you will never have to worry about enemy melee cav from this point on, camels annihilate them, and they make short work of any infantry too if you land a successful charge
i mean the melee combat feels very slow
like say i have a unit of hestati charge into an enemy unit, right?
while they fight, i send a second hestati group over to attack from the flank
but instead they just stand on the outskirt of that fight and watch the first unit and the enemy take turns touching swords and not killing anything
in the other games melee actually looked like it was HAPPENING, you feel me?
Were they in formation attack? If youre attacking a flank you want to turn that off so the soldiers actually attack, otherwise their priority is to slowly move their formation into combat and maintain it. Keep the front line in formation and take the flankers out of it, however this is really the cav's job, roman infantry isnt made for flanking really
It's alright, here have a webm of a FotS gunner bugging out.
yeah but me having that as a mission made me think the game was bugged and that I was supposed to be at war with them from the start.
anyway I'm gonna grab the spice ports. make peace with the persians, avoid the Horsefuckers and then grab egypt like you did. Then I'll go after what remains of the WRE (I doubt they're still a threat) and take all of north africa
>speed affects the charge damage
has it been like that in all Total war games? I did not know.
well thanks this will help against the Sassies and huns. I also can't wait for those spice warriors!
no doubt. they're carving a path through them so fast. all of baktria and parthia is abandoned regions
Reminds me of that scene in band of brothers where that soldier charged across the street during a gunfight and resupplied a machine gun and directed their fire, and then ran back and never got shot, like the germans didnt know what the fuck was going on. Based on a true story, think the guy got the medal of honor
>and resupplied a machine gun
I didnn't see that happens in the webm. He wasn' even carrying ammo or am I blind? ALl I saw was him jumping behind and wall and then poppin up back again. also he failed to shot that german at crew ion their backs
I might have mixed that up with another scene, he gave orders to some americans behind that wall or something to that degree, the conversation between the lieutenants in the scene before explains why he did it
balls of steel either way. I should watch Band of Brothers. I only saw a few episodes when it aired on tv
oh...I have no idea why he had to risk his life to do that, but it was a cool scene
that's...surprisingly clever tbqh
R2 DEI > Attila > Vanilla R2
>not accepting the cultural enrichment that the followers of Wodan bring
Your entire military system is already enriched with Germanics, Stilicho is an influential Vandal and one of your top commanders.
You reach a point where enrichment becomes encroachment
>yfw the assets and engine improvements from Warhammer get back-ported to Attila by industrious Slavs & we can mod gunpowder shit to our hearts content
I know that won't happen but let a man dream
Is Longbeards pack worth shekels?
I like the idea of the faction but is it any unique or fun to play?
From what I know Vandals were not a huge threat when Stilicho was relevant, the Goths under Alaric were and Stilicho managed to get some deals with Alaric and his confederation.
Once Stilicho fell, Rome had much more pressing issues with the Germanics.
Anon thats fucking adorable.
Like, idk where to start
stop encouraging the retard you anime shitposters
Bongs keep talking shit about how Americans didn't do anything in WW2 when in reality it was them who were trapped on their shitty island half starving before Americans came and helped them.
thanks for the positive reaction, i played the tutorial and i kinda got a blackout or something and when i woke up it was like a day later
it was really strange so i guess that explains it
but anyway thank you very much
Not him, but he's right.
Look at the census data between 1935 and 1945, while the data is hardly perfect, it went from about 5 million jews to 1 million jews. It's hard to know exactly, because there was plenty of people in conquered territory who were not a part of any formal census but rather the local slavs keeping tabs on the jews.
So, between marches, firing squads, starvation, disease and camps, about 4 million Jews were intentionally killed during the 3rd Reich due to machinations by the ruling powers.
dont listen to this retard rock paper scissors is an excuse scrubs use for why they got crushed. spears easily beat swords with spear wall and archers by just rushing them.
and in SP theres hardly any reason to use samurai when you can get monster ashigaru with the infantry commander skill. so no reason to use anything but yari ashi and cav except roleplaying. unless you're playing hojo, their art is good for a laugh.
That's not an arbitrary number you fucktard, he said his source.
Historians don't unanimously agree with 6,000,000, that number has always been debated ever since 1945. That's just the figure that got popular because it got published a lot.
But it isn't arbitrary. It's using census data at the time of the war.
Again, it's a rough 4 million, but 6 million Jews would have probably been every single Jew in Europe. They weren't all gassed and burned, either; just the ones at the camps when they realized you can't possibly bury millions of bodies in your backyard.
Shit dude, I don't have the links, but any library would probably have the data.
>Attila on sale, thinking about picking it up after not playing it or Rome 2
>AoC not on sale
Unless of course you corral a population into a ghetto, then break all their shops.
Dude, Mischlinge meant you didn't get shit, food or healthcare that was outside your shitty ghetto. That alone ends of killing the elderly and the young
