Anyone have a nice build for barc speeders I kinda want one for my collection.

My fellow boy/toy/s, I have a problem. I need cash, and am considering selling my new-ish Lego sets to get a little cheddar. I have the following, all complete (including spare parts and instructions)

Star Wars:
>Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
>Rey's Speeder

Marvel:
>Hulkbuster Smash
>Quinjet City Chase
>Attack on Avengers Tower
>Ant-Man Final Battle (from before Lego fixed the legs on Ant-ony)

The following are just missing their instructions:

Marvel:
>Iron Man vs Ultron
>Captain America vs Hydra
>Knowhere Escape Mission
>Milano Spaceship Rescue

Bionicle 2016
>Tahu, Master of Fire
>Lord of the Skull Spiders
>Skull Grinder vs Mask Maker

Hero Factory: Invasion From Below
>Rocka Stealth Machine
>Splitter Beast vs Furno & Evo
>Crystal Beast vs Bulk
>Queen Beast vs Furno, Evo & Stormer

Would any of that do well on Bricklink/eBay?
>>
>>5406640

So of the latest releases of Star Wars sets, the new wave of the Force Awakens ones anyway, which is the best?

The whole structure is ugly, same goes for the mini vehicles for Aaron and Clay.

Also I don't need a 4th Aaron... I already have the Mecha Horse, Infernox, Lava Smasher and Chaos Chariot. I'm planning on picking up some Ultimate sets tomorrow and/or Clay's Rumble Blade.

The Fortrex and Merlok's Library are the only sets I'm not drawn too, luckily they're meant to go together, so I wouldn't feel bad about buying one and not the other. I can probably wait another few months for an Ava figure, but not having easy access to an Axl is slowly killing me.

Shit get lost by kids or the factory so they always give dupes on studs and small parts. They recently added the tap piece to the dupes aswell!

>Now that you mention it though I wonder why lego provides extras, it doesn't look like a piece that'll easily break.
I assumed it had something to do with the way they've automated the piece sorting process and use computers with scales to make sure everything is in the box... They give you extras based on the weight of the individual piece to make sure it trips the sensors so the computer can be certain it's not missing anything.

I find myself pretty much only buying large sets now.

I actually feel way more satisfied buying and building something really large that looks great complete, than buying a ton of really small sets.

In fact, a lot of times, sub-$50 I usually just buy for parts and minifigures, and they rarely even get built.

I mean, for me, "Large sets" is like "Modulars, and bigger."

Well, at least with the Modulars, it helps that they only come out once a year. I want to buy the Ghostbuster's Firehouse, and I'll probably do that when I get my tax return in a few weeks.

But I have a decent paying job, so If I really want a big set, I just put in a few hours of overtime or something, which is usually enough to cover it.

I actually had to more stop myself from buying smaller sets. $10~$20 sets are nice and cheap, until you realize you've just bought 10 of them over the weekend and realize you could have bought a bigger set with more "presence" in your display.

At least, that's how it all kind of works for me.

About the minifigures, all are ok: a second scarlet witdh, and a giant and microbuild ant-man made me to start searching for the ant-man set.
>>
>>5407345

Last I heard (at least at the time of the Ant Man set release), Marvel would do one line of movie sets per year, so when Iron Man 3 sets came out, there were no Thor sets, stuff like that.

Apparently Ant-Man changed that, and since Marvel is only getting bigger now we just get a fuckton of sets all the time.

But that's all hearsay, it might not be exactly what the case was. I just remember reviewers being really excited about the Ant-Man set because it was some kind of shift in Marvel movie Lego stuff.

God damn all this misinformation. Lego had lots of marvel sets out in 2014. They had faux captain america and ASM2 sets out, things based on the cartoon..... but suspiciously similar to the movie franchises. GotG got 3, and one was their biggest marvel set at that type. It actually still holds that record for standard retail release as the helicarrier is not widely available. 3 sets is support for the line. Man of steel got 3 sets. IM3 got 3 sets, its normal.

The super hero lines have this luxury that other licenses do not. As these deals go deeper. They have the DC and marvel licenses for a while, unlike say a deal with new line or universal. The theme is tied to a film, and that's it, they plan out 4-8 sets and share profits and the theme runs its course. We wont see new jurassic world sets for 2016. Maybe for dimensions, but the license agreement doesn''t extend to that.

So lego has flexibilty with the license, they use it. They don't HAVE to make a full line of ant-man legos, so they don't. They make one. They HAD to make a full line of lone ranger, as was the license agreement. It's better for lego this way.

Ant-Man was the VERY first time two movie franchise related sets were released in the same year.

>You think Disney set up a deal just for Lone Ranger sets? I think it's more likely Lego was hoping for another Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yes.... That's how license agreements work. They're limited to one thing. What do you mean hoping for PotC? Do you not get these deals and sets are planned out. Lego doesn't usually test the waters with sets and then plan more later. It depends on the specific license deal if that option is open. For marvel it is open, for lone ranger, it was not, for jurassic world, it's not.

>What do you mean hoping for PotC?
Lego had a reasonably successful line of PotC sets so when Disney came around with a new Johnny Depp action movie they were hoping for another hit line.

I may not be a master of licencing agreements but I imagine Lego has some idea of what might sell and how much they want to get behind a certain property. And that they work that out with the companies involved and aren't just forced into making sets they don't want to because the agreement told them to.

It's just fine with mixel joints. and the like, but it can be finicky.

Also, that reminds me, a little while ago I posted how I liked to do upper legs. After some testing, though, I figured out the old method has an issue in that it still will restrict the 1x1 ball joint somewhat, meaning it has to "click" past the edges of the 1x2 plates or other parts holding it in place. This minor revision fixes this issue.

new series is out? In the US, maybe?
>>

I don't get your point and I don't think you get mine.

The point is, they got the license for the lone ranger, or Jurassic world (don't be hung up on the example I use as you seem to be) and part of that agreement is a full theme with multiple sets. So retailers will carry an assortment of those toys based on that film.'

Ant-man, had no such agreement. It's all under the marvel banner. There's more freedom for marvel and lego because of this. It's not a film to film agreement.

People keep making these assumptions, example

>"this theme got 2 waves, because it was more successful, they did 5 sets in 2013 and 3 more in 2014

When the retailer catalog and previews actually showed that the 2014 sets were planned before the 2013 ones come out. If these things are based on license agreements that's where flexibility ends. They plan their sets a year to 2 years in advance.

>And that they work that out with the companies involved and aren't just forced into making sets they don't want to because the agreement told them to.

Yea, well...... tell that to the 3rd hobbit movie, it happened.

I'm a trainfag looking to make my first MOC and rather than jumping straight into an engine, I'm looking to start small with wagons for it of some kind. Problem is I'm having trouble thinking of a wagon design to go for that doesn't already have an existing, similar counterpart or anything like that.

Ideally I'm looking for the sort of freight car you might see behind an American freight train in the 50s or so, but I'm coming up blank. Anybody got any suggestions I could work off of?

>for LBR thats true but Target, TRU and everyone else and their mother breaks their contract bound release date

I wish that was true, but all the Targets in my area slavishly follow release dates.

Last December 29 (2014), I went to Target and asked about their new CMFs that were supposed to be released in January.

>worker goes into back room
>waiting
>waiting intensifies
>about to leave
>worker comes out with sealed shipping box

That should be easy, compared to a lady you have fuckloads of flexibility for shape usage as well as a medley of ways in which you could make a buff physique. The rounded car hood/roof pieces, for instance, along with some studs, should make for an E-Z set of pecs and abs.

If you wanted to go the cheap route you could use stuff like neo-Bionicle ab pieces, there's loads of them in tan and that'd probably make for an easy chest. Some system-technic finagling would allow for an appropriately bulky set of arms if you keep the bonkle chest but want bulky System arms.

I should build more ladies with different body types, come to think of it. I did the one devil fighter lady, and a few others, but I haven't shown them off all that much.

TC-4 wasn't available in the states for some reason, but I got mine off eBay. I got my last two from eBay as well. There are sometimes exclusive figures in books or conventions, like the Prototype Boba Fett.

This place is my favorite site for SW Lego collecting; it's very comprehensive:

It is a reskin of the set 'Poolside Paradise' in the Paradisa line. There is also another reskin of the plate to be found in one of the Egyptian adventurers sets.

I picked this set up for a few bucks after my gf came to terms with my collection and was trying to reach back to her childhood. Lots of freat parts in this one, and yes i'd love to have that Alpha Team reskin of the plate
>>
>>5409819

To add to this Brickset also has a really nice list of all the figs, if you're looking to find all the figs from a theme.

Star Wars is a rabbit hole though, there are so many figures.

Also if you're a completionist have fun with Cloud City Fett and Lando, plus Revan. If you're a lunatic completionist have fun with the chrome / silver / gold figs that are even rarer.

I took a pic of all 4 I have.

First is the Mini Groot from the Rocket TRU Polybag.
Second is a Mini Fig with longer legs from S World China Bootleg.
Third is a Big Fig with Handsome Squidward face from S World as well.
Last is the Big Fig Build from the Knowhere Escape Mission set.

Hey guys, quick question. Can the original yellow Hagrid hold stuff just as well as the 2010 one? I prefer the original one for the colour and lack of lapels but I swear I read somewhere the hands are very different - and I can't find any images of the original Hagrid holding stuff (like a sword or an axe). Can anyone confirm?

It's been years since I bought any non-licensed sets. Did they ever introduce black fleshies into the "yellow" themes? I'm not a huge fan of the white fleshies, but I've always liked the black heads and thought they fit in fine with the yellow heads.

>Did they ever introduce black fleshies into the "yellow" themes?

This is debatable, but the NBA sets had both fleshies (for real-world players at the time) and regular yellow minifigs (for generic NBA players). However, all the sets seem to segregate, with a set being only fleshies or only yellows. I swear I saw a set that had some fleshy celebrities along with some yellow filler figs, but I can't find it if it exists.

Never DM'd anything that complex, but I have run a few games where the group spent a few hours building their characters out of LEGO. It takes for fucking ever to get going, but the added connection to the characters actually resulted in much better character histories and roleplaying on the part of the platyers. That turned out to be really useful, as a pair of normally energetic/disruptive players focused that energy on making life difficult for the party via roleplaying crazy characters, rather than their usual strategy, which is to metagame and argue with the DM every 5 seconds.
