post mocs, set faggots get out. Set mods acceptable.
Ep 7 xwing I posted today, essentially a reskin, but took hard work as hell.
If we use this thread in the futur, i add this now

Someone has a better way to approach a windscreen for this?
Especially a milf who doesnt give a fuck if you like vidya, lego, warhammer, oddball porn and are a massive sexual deviant.
I love her to death and wouldnt trade her for anything, hell, id die for her.
nope. I am me. Ive already said too much. But if theres another dude out there who hit the jackpot and never gave up, best of luck to him.
Remember guys, the dream is real, just takes patience. And a little open mindedness.
This is late night /lg/. Where we can be free to talk about whatever the fuck we want and call each other fags if we feel like it. Also not like anyone generally posts anything at this hour anyways, usually.
In other words, go back to those places if they are safer spaces for you.
So I'm trying to build an original spaceship. Like the Ebon Hawk or Millennium Falcon for some minifigures. Problem is I don't know any fancy building techniques. All I wind up Making is a flying brick and it's pretty sad. Can anyone help show me how to make a nice non-blocky siding and top? I've tried 3 or 4 different builds now and I'm just getting frustrated. I keep looking at mocs for inspiration but I can't figure out how any of it was put together.
A lot of my collection came from 1996-2005.
Figure out the general geometric shape of the thing you want to make is, and try and replicate it in technic. Use LEGO Digital Designer.
Experiment with different things. Find a set you like that's somewhat similar and see what the LEGO designer did.
With technic you can use pieces like http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=4274#T=C and put plates and such at interesting angles.
Adding to this, sometimes the directions aren't super helpful for visualizing how something is done. Eurobricks has a thread that's entirely devoted to people posting LEGO Digital Designer files for official sets, so you can open the set you want in LDD and pull it apart piece by piece to see how it works, if you want.
Why should a number matter, especially if its on the "legal" side of the spectrum? How old are you? Are there not any older people you would bang? Love? Be happy with?
But hey, contrarians being contrarian, as usual.
and here's the technic skeleton of that vehicle
For brick shaping I've found that hinged bricks and plates are really good, though I keep my stuff to midi scale.
For angled paneling, the trick they use on the FO Snowspeeder and the KR Command Shuttle is really cool on a large scale. They use the 1x4 hinged bricks, or whatever they're called, and make angled walls that they then attach plates too. Easy to build off of, and very sturdy.
Hinged bricks work well but you're right that at larger scales they can only hold so much. Still good for angling and paneling, though.
I haven't built it in real life yet because I'm still not totally satisfied with how stable it will be when I build it (it's becoming less of a problem, I'm fairly certain it will hold up) and that I keep trying to improve the looks. I overhauled the body and made it two studs wider, and it looks a lot better.
If by full scale you mean something on the scale of the enormous $100 one, I would probably just try to replicate what Jang did.
Thanks, but I look at it now and feel like there's lots of useless crap all over the place. The middle section will not be stable at all, and I want to make the rear part an actual mech that can be removed.
tomorrow I make the decision to buy this or not, set 4483, the problem though is the best price I could get at it is a little over $200 Canadian dolloroos, $150 USD, do I take the plunge guys? should I really spend that much on it? childhood memories vs finances
Actually, she may not. My teeth are currently the main thing in my body that are fucked beyond redemption, and im stuck with nigger rigged insurance, which barely covers tooth extraction, and for sure does NOT cover oral surgery. My only option right now is to let college students do my dental work, and considering when my mom had tongue cancer, they extracted ALL the teeth on THE WRONG SIDE OF HER MOUTH, and they currently BROKE THREE TEETH on my stepmoms jaw when she just needed one extracted.....and are now arguing who pays for it before they fix what they are contractually obligated to fix.......yeah.
My GF is def going to outlive me more than likely. Find what happiness when and where you can.
Also, US of A here. Thanks Obama. Why not force dental and eyes shit to be the same shit as regular health shit as part of obamacare, especially since teeth can kill you quicker than a lot of other health shit can.
But I digress. LEGO!
WHEN DO WE GET THE NEW VADER TIE?
I MUST HAVE IT.
ALSO, ADULT AHSOKA, WHEN?
>Also let's see your GF's MILF areolas pls.
Your GFs nips first.
Maybe we can both go to prison together when the "revenge porn" charges come. Nah man. Im trying my damnedest to get her to let me record a vid of her sucking my dick, and her shit getting leaked online is her biggest fear. As someone who HAS nudes online, and even amatuer porn online, I dont get the fear (come ON, its 2016 afterall), but at the same time, like I said, I love her to death, and dont want to lose her.
My de-Republiced Z-95. Could be rebel/civillian I suppose. Still not like the original EU design but a step closer!
if you set yourself on fire rather than make an MOC because its so challenging, try to rebuild a set you own, rather than MOC something
poe's xwing polybag makes a bitchin AA gun, and another anon made the go-kart polybag into a great spaceship.
being confined to what parts you can use actually helps
Besides i think 22 is a huge age gap, for both gender,
i dont care at least his posts are normal and he is happy.
Why do i have the image of nipple stud on my mind.
Somehow reading this, i get the feeling, the pic of the gf would have blocky brick aereolas.
At least we are still in a lego gen, everything here is blocky. ^^
I assume you're either trolling or just unaware
>Average Lego set has increased in value 12 per cent each year since the turn of the Millennium, providing a better return than mainstream investments
It is pretty clear when a set has features that are meant to be entertaining or appealing, or just meant to be functional to kids. An adult can still recognize these features based on what they would have liked as a kid themselves.
Like a Nexo Knight set like Clay's Blade thing has way more playability with all the little connecting vehicles and missile launchers and moving parts, than say a Modular building, which is more meant to just look really nice as a display piece.
>shopped the blade
>didn't shop out the hair stuck to the cape
That shit never gets noticed until long after it's posted.
My midi scale kom'rk class. Actually built the thing in real life, needed some changes but I'm happy. Probably my favorite sw ship
Here's v2 of a speeder bike thing I've been working on.
This is a bit of an old Moc. Made a simple, light Chima aircraft.
How does this look for a technic skeleton?
Planning out a modular-style industrial building, but I'm clueless as to what they should manufacture.
What sort of generic boring Lego City items could be made on the second floor here? I'm thinking car parts and/or engines, though it might be a bit cramped space.
Gonna go with Robin. While BM is mostly the same as on Chaos charriot, he's generic enough to be made a mook or commander on the army. Brave sir Robin is just a kid in a shiny armor.
Now, keep in mind that I haven't seen the show yet, nor do I have any idea what the Nexo powers do, so I could be wrong. Maybe the kids will love Robin.
And speaking of shelfwarming, it's pretty funny to me that more or less every store in one chain here is fully stocked with Tydiriums and Poe's X-wing. They just don't sell, and stuff rarely, if ever, gets discounted here.
Here in Australia we finally got (some of) the new sets today.
Went to the store an hour before closing and the guy had only just started putting them on shelves. Heard him suggest to somebody else that they come back tomorrow because he'll be done by then.
I thought that there's no way he'd be that slow, so I did some other shopping and came back ten minutes before closing.
He'd shelved all of one set by then, one of the buildable figures.
On the positive side, though, at least I know they'll be there tomorrow.
But another negative is that it's only the new SW and some of the Ninjago, not the Nexo Knights that you guys seem to love so much.
I was pretty keen on them to begin with but seeing lego general enjoy them made me eager to buy them sooner rather than later.
It's nicer to hear people talk about them and see photos that people have taken themselves.
But anon, they look a little bit too bulky and a swirl is a interesting feature too.
And to be honest these ultimates are not bought because of the brick. Than the sets are way too expensive.
These ultimates are bought because of the characters and not all customers are builder but regular kids/anons too.
So we just guess. But sure if all think Robin is a must have because of "limitation" we could be wrong.
I love MOCs but there isn't a damn thing wrong with sets ya faggot
There are always some possibilities.
But right the builds are all decent.
I have the Emerald night from years ago which was sat intact inside of a box in my cupboard, just recently pulled it out and set everything up but it's not working as intended.
The top speed is about half to 2/3rds of what I see in Youtube videos of it and at lower speeds it has a very jerky motion where it stops for a split second before jumping forward some distance in a rhythmic motion, just for reference this doesn't happen when the wheels are only in contact with the air and it only happens when running normally on the rails. Anybody experienced enough to know what bit might be the cause of this problem in particular? I'm effectively a newb with Lego so I'm at a loss for what might be causing it.
>bricklink order came in
>Plo Koon's Starfighter and Imperial V-wing
>Plo Koon looks like someone's bitten his torso and his head won't stay on his body
>both ship's stickers are either very badly applied or peeling off
I don't know how to react. On the other hand I only paid like 17 euros per set and I only really wanted the minifigs. On the other Plo Koon is kinda in a shitty condition and some of the most major stickers are coming off and they arrived pre-built.
This is supposed to be the next thread, right?
Would any of you say these are good fuel tanks on the bottom?
There's also the start of the back carriage to the left.
Thats sounds bad.
I dont know how i would react.
Was one of the defects listed?
If it was labeled as "used", i would say loose studs happens.
Stickers on bricks, ok, but already peeling more than just one corner and only slightly should be listed.
And if the minifig has bite mark is a note worthy listing.
While writing i would complain about it all but only demand some compensation for Plo Koon since its the one thing that is more like "heavy used" or "the dog chewd on it"
Cant really help you, only send you some
I hope this actually gets chosen.
Yeah pretty much
If you wanted to round out those tanks more you could use domes and axles.
Are your wheels quartered properly? If you have the coupling rods angled at 180º from each other the wheels will lock up. The coupling rods must be mounted at 90º from each other to facilitate smooth movement.
This video shows quite clearly how the wheels' coupling rods are mounted at 90º from each other. The engine moves slowly, but this is because of the pneumatic valves and cylinders being unmodified and acted on by friction. If you make a set of wheels quartered properly it'll roll quite smoothly.
It sure looks technicy and skeletal.. not sure what else to say about it. You could use some connectors to build the sides on a ninety degree angle maybe?
If you want to build a spaceship for a bunch of minifigs I recommend sitting/standing the minifigs in what's going to be the floor, and building around them. Make a boxy/blocky thing, it doesn't matter, then add greebling or swap out pieces over the course of the next few days. Relax, it's supposed to be fun instead of OH GOD THIS THING I BUILT IS CRAP HOW DO I DO BETTER
Yes, overall its a decent bike, a very good transformation, but the horse is just meh.
And this is were you can moc it into something better.
Dont get me wrong, its overall a good set, but the horse is optimisable. That why sets are good, but some can always be MOC`ed.
I'm pretty sure they're at 90º from each other, I made a point of matching the images in the manual as exactly as possible. The video is what I'm getting roughly but I'll be damned if I can figure out what to change exactly to fix it.
The other things i would expect as "used" only the damage is more like "damaged" thats why i would try to get some compensation.
If you dont want to go full anger or want long conversations, write a mail about it to the seller complaining and advise him to extra mention such things because it goes beyond normal kid us. Not about compensation, just to write your anger from your soul to let him know.
It might help future builders and at least if you wrote it, it cant last on you soul shoulders.
Sorry just my shitty advise.
How would I go about making Warcraft races?
Dwarves and Humans seem easy enough, but besides that...
Applied buildings to the baseplate. Added some scenery generic people. A little bit of rebel spying and some Imperials marching along.
>My teeth are currently the main thing in my body that are fucked beyond redemption
fucked up teeth
>nigger rigged insurance
dat casual racism
>part of obamacare
>Also, US of A here. Thanks Obama.
sub 60 IQ
Ok, the 50 year old girl friend makes a lot more since now. Is she also your aunt?
Im also gonna go ahead and assume you live somewhere south of the mason dixon line.
I got a few hairpieces recently, but they're rather loose on minifigure heads. Any advice on how to tighten them so they aren't so loose or get knocked askew so easily?
It looks okay, depends what you want to build. The only reason to have that raised section in the back is if you want to put a lot of stuff up there and below it. In my example the raised section was to accommodate the big ass wheels in the back.
Well, from what you said, it looks like motor can't deliver enought power to properly move the train. It can be either bad powersource or smth inside motor (or gears), like dust or hair. Also it colud be grease became solid %%i don't know, is there are any grease at all in lego motors lol%%, but it is very unlikely and would fix itself after running it a few minutes. I would rebuild it from scratch. and if nothig changes, i would disassemble motor and look if it needs a cleanup or repair. Altough, i can't really imagine a lot of dust/fur/hair has got inside of lego motor.
I'm seriously debating whether these are worth the price, damn it.
30366 its under the fabuland sign on ldd
>ice planet 2020
is it bad I just pictured an ice planet guy in the opticians?
cmf evel knievel a like
dem bigfigs(technic) in the bottom row,
>greenstud for green shield power
>red for red power
no yellow? am disappoint tlg
>$3. for a visor
seriously, even in white its not that rare
I'd try replacing the motor except I don't have a spare, since I doubt dissembling the drive train would fix things and it'd just be a massive hassle to do. Disassembling the motor is even less likely for me to try, I wouldn't even know where to begin.
>article opens with a set that has increased value 86% per year since release.
>AVERAGE lego set increases 12% per year
i know :^) is shorthand for "go on, take the bait" but you're still retarded.
>not cutting after the ribbed texture
For what purpose?
So far Robin is my kid's favorite character after Clay. Everytime he has them "go out and fight the bad guys" he brings them all back to the fortrex and Robin does all the repair and mechanic work. I think he really identifies with that cause I've had him help me fix our cars since he was old enough to pass me a wrench.
In our house Ava is the character that never gets used.
Solid white visors do look pretty good, but not $4/each good.
I got the king's mech today, it's probably one of the best official mecha.
Civilians run in panic as our intrepid scout snags one of the holocrons! What mysteries might it contain?
A better shot of the hanger might be nice, too.
>tfw building with Old Dark Gray
>tfw everything snaps solidly like a boss
>tfw nothing snaps or splits
>tfw maintains harder connections longer than todays bricks
Why aren't you building with the based bricks of yesterdecade, Anons?
There was a reason LEGO almost went under in the 90s, and it was HIGH QUALITY plastic (andalsonotoursourcingcheaperfactoriestomexicoorchinaandreleasingpoorsellingthemesforyearsetcetc).
Definitely think someone should just let this thread die and remake it.
Between the shit OP and the drunken posting and nasty replies to just about every legit post, this one has definitely been fucked.
what's the point of posting sets? If I wanted to see a set then I'd just look up one of the hundreds of existing videos or images of that set. MOCs and modifications are infinitely more interesting
Why does Lego do this to me?
working on something with robo sidekicks
which design of body is better?
>The rear wheel is attached sideways.
I was going to say to articulate the rear wheel with a turntable so it can steer, but...
Track system is proof of concept for a Panther tank, maybe.
>riding the MAGICBRICKS train

boss man wondered where his elevenses got to......
>buy first order snow speeder
>build is really nice and fun
>1 of the troopers has no legs
>customer support is apparently out of them
>don't want to go through the trouble of returning the entire set for a pair of legs
>tfw I'm stuck with an amputee trooper
>A lot of the sets are really blocky
Because they combined Classic Space with Classic Castle...
Some more progress on the carriage. Not sure on whether I should make it look more like a car or a tractor.
How's the little robot horse that's in a couple of the nexoknights sets?
Autismos gotta autism, anon.
Obviously it is subjective, I just sets in general. Bravo dumb ass.
Fuck off. I have sets from my dark ages, vintage shit. I enjoy MOCs as I said. Go squat on a tower of 2x2s.
Theres a good portion of people posting sets. They enjoy them and others enjoy seeing them. You don't have to click or expand the images. This is a Lego General, not a Lego MOC General. Go fuck off to your segregation island twat.
She probably fucks like a boss, not that you would anything about that.
I remember when Chima came out and Ninjago was being "phased out over the next year." That was before the robot ninja wave. Ninjago will never die.
Though I also disagree that Nexo Knights are shitty sets. Those lava monsters are awesome.
Out of growing frustration with my giant spaceship I threw together a little fighter with the goal of using my small collection of turquoise pieces
>memorable or decent at ALL outside of that one boat
That was because fans demanded it.
I bet Ninago is kinda powered by the Turtles series which started 2012 too, the kung fu panda movies from before and the series i think was at the end of 2011.
So the Ninja or Kung fu is present in the kids and so interest in Ninjago was still there.
So i guess the series manifested itself in kids popculture.
And you see in many films fight scenes.
If you ask me, i think Nexo will just go as Chima goes.
>If you ask me, i think Nexo will just go as Chima goes.
A part of my collection, On top of two detolf shelves
Nexo has one thing that chima failed - Better characters and their appearance in sets.
I heard to many times " Mom, I want this one! Another wolf? But you have one already. Mooom, but It's Worriz! You don't need 3 of them honey."
I can't believe there are genuinely Lego elitists.
We're all playing with kids' toys, guys, who gives a fuck how anybody does it.
Anyway, what's the best Vader to get? I don't have one. In terms of price and quality both.
Its just my guess after seeing it so far in context with what is popular with kids.
But sure it can enfold different. Since dragons are popular. But this year comes kung fu panda 3.
Do we know it was a failure?
As far as i know it was ok. Strong sold on vehicle sets, normal on playsets, poorly on the speedors.
Problem was Ninjago pushed it back. So there wasnt anything left than go for Ninjago, strong ip with very good sales, than for Chima doing Ok but in longterm with special sculpts helmets.
Thats why they did the cyborgs and more human minis.
Just my personal bullshit on it.
Yes the character distribution was bad.
Maybe this was one thing that slowed down the line to cross from ok sales into good sales.
But as far as i read and heard from kids it was that there were too many certain characters.
Not so many, but once a month wandering through a toy store, just to look whats new.
I made some porygons on the way to work today. Now if lego would just make some of those parts in magenta/light pink that'd be great
I'm a trainfag looking to make my first MOC and rather than jumping straight into an engine, I'm looking to start small with wagons for it of some kind. Problem is I'm having trouble thinking of a wagon design to go for that doesn't already have an existing, similar counterpart or anything like that.
Ideally I'm looking for the sort of freight car you might see behind an American freight train in the 50s or so, but I'm coming up blank. Anybody got any suggestions I could work off of?
>finally get around to trying the nexo knights game
>loading times are insane and it stutters on my note 3
I should probably do an imgur album for this or something, but I'll try my best.
A little less than the setup I had in college, though I still have pics of that.
Don't ask to see my desk, it's a mass now that I got into Lego Dimensions...
