Tabletop and Roleplay LEGO threads (Lego Quest, etc.):>>>/tg/lego
Have any questions? Check out the guide:
So anyone have the old Lego Magazine/Brickmaster issue with a comic featuring these 4? I've been trying to track it down but to no avail.
It was pretty basic but showed off the sets in a way that gave some level of sense to the oddly designed catapult builds.
Help a Lego bro out!
>built a full team of dragons/robots that followed that exact formula when I was a kid
>tfw they're still my favorite MOC
>tfw when you get given shitloads of promo Lego leftovers
>tfw you have no room to display it all
>Tfw want Doctor Who Lego set
>Only way to get Capaldi in based costume is to buy the £30 Dimensions set
Don't even like vidya that much.
>something regarding new molds for literally everything, if I'm correct.
Yeah, Blizzard wanted new models for the figures, not to use typical minifigures. Lego said no. So Blizzard went with Mega Blocks and the fail train went off the rails.
But orcs are a bit buffer than normal people and both elves are taller (but not as tall as each other) and dwarves have to be shorter than normal, and gnomes even shorter than them again.
Nope, not acceptable. Blizzard wanted badass highly poseable new figures that would have cost a ton to produce to Lego's standards. They wanted custom everything for their minis. Lego said no. Mega Blocks said "Hell yeah!" and then the line died because Blizzard failed to realize that WoW isn't Halo.
Funny, I actually live in MN.
But the last place I saw them was TRU, and that was probably two years ago.
And even at that, TRU usually ends up hanging onto toylines for like a year or two after they're totally phased out.
I figured the WoW Megabloks haven't been relevant in a long time.
That's alright, man. Realistically, the only reason Megabloks does so well is because they have the Halo license. If they didn't have that, they probably would have faded away like Kre-O, since most of the other properties they run don't last particularly long.
I have a couple grand worth of Halo Mega Bloks myself so I can admit, they lured me in. Stopped quite a while ago, though, and switched my obsession to Lego Star Wars.
I made a little speeder for my spaceman. I used parts from set #6849 and some extra ones to made this thing. What do you guys think of it?
>new medium creators, starter kits , small nexo knights for 63zl each.
WTF, it used to be for like 40zl, what happened?!
Nope but you're close. She's a rooftop artist
I'm tempted to buy this set just because it looks so damn cool, even though I have no attachment to Ninjago, nor do I know anything about it.
We just don't get too many Japanese/Asian inspired sets.
Here you go. I like to call it my dumping ground for unused plants and trees.
>You ever started a Brikwars thread on /tg/, White agle?
Personally no, but that's because /tg/ is a pretty fast board, so any Brikwars or Mobile Frame Zero thread will fall off simply due to lack of content.
I have pondered the idea of a Lego in Gaming General, but never really got around to making it.
Also reminds me that I need to ask a man about a Brikwar during a Gaming Con...
Is there a way to export a part list from an lxf file to bricklink? Want to build this but I have no idea how. Found it on eurobricks.
I feel like the Ninjago line has some decent-ish smaller playsets, actually. It's just that some of the designs are so friggen' outlandish.
The biggest ones all seem to be shrines, or temples or whatever, and they all have pretty neat designs.
There are even some pretty small or medium-sized sets that are actual playsets and have pretty neat designs.
comrades, a space minivan
Now I just need a bunch of these to go with it.
I haven't dabbled in Lego too much lately, but the Nexo Knight sets caught my eyes because of that magitech theme.
I got the Rumble Blade and the Lavaria minifig and they're totally cool. Building the launching mechanism for the two side cars and then the sword plane. Lavaria's evil spider body, little robot minifigs, little goblin minifig also didn't expect the stud-launching crossbow. All cool (and new to me) concepts with Lego in general.
My Target didn't have all the sets right now but I saw the rest of the minifig sets for the other characters, and some of the other vehicles like the motorcycle horse, which also looked great. One of them was a little building playset with a loli minifig which I hadn't seen before either.
>little building playset with a loli minifig
That's Merlok's Library that works as an extension to Fortrex.
Yeah the box showed it connecting to a big castle which the store didn't have, and I didn't see a spot for it. I'm going to be looking for the mech sets next.
Looking through the rest of the Nexo sets it seems like the stud launchers are going to be pretty wide-spread in it. Is it the new gimmick or has it been around for awihle.
>find cheap road plate on cracklink
>go to wash in tub
>nice, only a couple small scuffs
So an onlinestore has 10 % off their entire store today, so I was thinking of getting all my Winter 2016 sets in one swoop.
I'm justifying it by thinking that its my birthday in 10 days. What do oyu think?
5th episode of Nexo is here. Jestro founds new book and Whipparela appears! Aaron have gigantes fetish and it was one of the best episodes in my eyes
Whiparrela even undress him. No I am not joking.
Either the graffiti was listed in the item description and you're an idiot for not reading it. Or it wasn't and your seller's a cunt and you should go get your money back.
Either way, there's about 50 different ways to get rid of permanent marker with basic household supplies, so it shouldn't be any real trouble.
Got this yesterday for $35 clearance at Walmart. Creator sets confirmed for comfiest builds
Only complaints about the Nexo stuff:
The shields are a bit too big, makes them a little unwieldy, Clay's big sword is a little big and difficult to pose, and the new helmet masks don't stay very secure and flip up a bit easily.
scraping the barrel of my parts collection i made this little jeep pickuptruck thing
the fact that i didn't have aregular 6wide windshield caused me to use a rather crazy snotted technique to use this one. It did force me to use a suicide doors set-up.
it seats two in a sixwide build, openable doors and rear hatch thingy
Here he is as a sizecomparison next to my other sixwide two-seaters.
I also got lavaria btw and she kicks ass (i have a huge demoness fetish) Gave her the red poison ivy do so she can be just as cool a redhead as Dynamite. Her crossbow is really gnarly too.
I hope this helps, the math checks out regarding the 5 to 2 rule of plates and studs.
It's also a lot more sturdy than it looks, the rear of headlight bricks clutch like crazy somehow.
I was fucking about and made a half nude greedo, i like him
>I've always wanted to play BrikWars, but never knew where to start (other than, obviously, the rule book)
Well the Forum is a good place to discuss and browse what other have done, with the wiki supplementing that.
But yeah, as for actual PLAY, it can get a bit rough...
The only non-solo games I've played were all with my nephew, as there is little for gaming options out here in the middle of nowhere.
>Looking through the rest of the Nexo sets it seems like the stud launchers are going to be pretty wide-spread in it. Is it the new gimmick or has it been around for awihle.
Yeah, the started with gun based Stud Launchers a year or two ago...
Thing is, they've pretty much completely replaced regular blasters in the Star Wars Battle Packs, and only now have started to vary the design a bit.
>I will soon start Brikwars League in our Lego shop.
>What's the consensus on using CCBS/figure-scale mocs in Brikwars?
>What's the short version?
Basically, you can use ANYTHING for Brikwars, the point stating system uses the objects length (measured from the head to the end of the torso) to determine the cost for stats.
>5th episode of Nexo is here. Jestro founds new book and Whipparela appears! Aaron have gigantes fetish and it was one of the best episodes in my eyes
>Whiparrela even undress him. No I am not joking.
Oh hey, that's the one from Lego Worlds!
>What exactly made it bad?
I think it was the combining Vehicle aspect...
A cool Gimmick, but to make it work you need to up the part count on everything, resulting in big expensive sets parents aren't willing to buy for their kids.
i mostly dont like it because of the few sets i bought, the builds wernt fun at all
i personally thing the problem was, while it was clearly two factions "human" v "ailen"
the aliens had subpar builds that just threw in parts to make it actually look like the intended stuff
build a giant blob, then add some legs and mandables, bam, you got a spider or some shit.
the humans also were decided, its clear they designed each color faction with a theme in mind, being robots, heavy weapons, or whatever.
they ended up making a line, where people might end up liking only 1/5 of it
Custom minis are love and life and probably way cooler than any real friends you'll ever have.
Who doesn't want a cyberpunk geisha and purplehaired punk vampire grill. I wanted those and now i've got them and i'm happy.
It's from the currently out nexonights theme's ultimate lavaria set, it's for real.
>I think it was the combining Vehicle aspect...
That's great, but tons of other themes have used that, and it has never been a problem. Maybe not in every set like the GS line, but most sets--especially in the space lines--have modular vehicles. Especially the large ships. The sets were really no more or less expensive than in other themes/lines. Besides, I'd think kids would love stuff like that anyway; Getting one set that has a large vehicle, than can turn into two or three smaller vehicles. Kids eat that shit up.
Even Clay's vehicle in the Nexo Knights does this, and people love it there.
I admit that the bug alien sets weren't particularly interesting or very good (though the Hive Crawler thing was pretty cool) but the human sets were all pretty nice.
I don't think there was even one set I didn't really like out of the human vehicles.
Fuck it might as well splurge then. I always liked this simple minifig that went with the cool little vehicle moc.
This set is a pretty good source of rare neon blue parts if you're looking to stock up. The baseplate is pretty nice too.
is this an illegal use of said parts?
re: stress on the cylinder
>tfw you (almost) successfully bricklink someone else's MOC
How'd I do, boys?
Jesus christ, there are more posts about lego on /tv/ right now than in this thread.
Finally bit the bullet and got a sealed vader tie fighter.
What are my chances on the special chrome fig being in it?
Not the same guy but getting your entire MOC in a single store is pretty hard to do, especially if you're trying to save money.
A good estimation of how much a set will cost is about $0.10 per brick. It's not exactly but generally works.
You need to add the Dr. Malcolm Mini-car that just came out to make this picture complete.
because not enough people buy "original" space crap because it mostly sucks
Gal and I picked up pic related in our local Lego store i in anticipation for v-day. Cute build.
How likely is it that the Lego Detective Office goes out of stock/print within the next two months? My girlfriend is likely picking it up for my birthday soon, and I want to make sure it won't be oop.
Not likely at all. It just came out this time last year, and it usually takes 2-3 years for modulars to retire.
Probably even longer now, since the Petshop and Theater are still available, and they're from 4 or 5 years ago.
Does anyone know if Lego Stores still carry the last line of Mixels? Not the online store but brick and mortar.
Multiple tools exist for the job, Brickficiency is one, Brickwizard is a tool you can also use to create the cheapest possible list of Bricklink shops to buy your desired parts from
Why the fuck do people sell lego sets as completed when they're not, bought power miners set and half the fucking pieces are missing and the one minifig that is there has a flamed decal bike helmet.
i wouldnt care so much if they actually listed them as incomplete but when they miss peice or more annoying sub in pieces and call it complete, annoying as fuck.
Anyone else have any 2nd hand horror stories?
Apparently I'm a boatfag now.
I was going to, but I got finished taking the intro pictures too late. I've got everything done now, so hopefully next weekend will work out.
This thing is almost too big. It's more than two baseplates in length, so the regular colored backdrops I use are tricky to shoot without showing an edge.
I've got three of these on preorder along with a Doc Brown and the Ghostbusters level pack. Someone convince me not to buy more while they're on preorder for half off.
Gotta put a deck on this so they can see over the edge
they still have mixels, but iv had the same trouble you've had. series 6 is hard as hell to find for some reason.
either stores have unsold series 5 and they never stocked 6, or they're "getting it soon" and arnt getting any
Scratch that, it's actually seventy-FOUR studs long.
>So, these two parts can be separated?
Yup, it snaps together easily and is pretty sturdy, but also easy to separate. Here's what the insides look like.
As I sort stuff I decided Poe's Spooky X-Wing needed a..Proper..Pilot.
Hold onto your dooky it's about to get spooky.
Unfortunately, there are no connection points on the bottom of the hull.
GOD I REMEMBER HAVING THAT A YEAR BEFORE MY DARK AGE.
I gave all my Lego stuff to my neighbours kid, the family there didnt like it I guess because going to school ,I saw it in the trash a few days after.
And finally done.
Everything sorted away.
White tower is nothing but Minifig parts.
Black one is all characters and handheld stuff for making accessories.
>fail train went off the rails
This set was pretty based. I have it up on a shelf
How compatible are these with capes? Say I wanted to do a wanderer-type minifig who could sheath his sword, but had a cloak?
If I may offer my personal thoughts. Lego had the last laugh. Blizz needed NEW EVERYTHING, Lego wanted to make it fit in with their stuff. So the companies went in different directions. MegaBloks Warcraft died. But Lego gave us their version of WoW Lego anyway.
>Chima: Classic minifigs with new head molds (with classic heads underneath) - covered both bases, what lego wanted (adult fans/purists can swap helmets) plus what Blizz wanted (unique new molds). Would have worked as a compromise.
Good guy lions (alliance human), VS bad guy greenskins (orcs). Wolf guys are in a sort of alliance with crocs with their own agenda (forsaken).
Maybe other vague matches. Gorillas are savage race with thing for hammers (tauren+dorf?) Etc.
Anyway. Expansion 1 (Wave 2 sets): Literally called outland, going to new land to find bug monsters.
Expansion 2 (Wave 3): Northrend, enemies are frost/ice themed undead zombie monsters.
And now Nexo knights, where Deathwing's human form (Moltor [with spiky shoulders] + General Magmar's Jaw piece) leads the fel orcs to war in the latest expansion, warlords of lavaworld. (/Burning Crusade).
The main difference? Every Chima Tribe and even the Lava armies have female characters. Megabloks never even finished making the playable races, nevermind female versions of the ones they had (Minus Jaina and possibly NElf?)
Anyway. We already have WoW Lego. And it's awesome.
>order Lego Tardis on the 5th
>check order status
>still hasn't been shipped
>trying to rotate hatch in ldd
>undo doesn't work
>it lost everything I did since launch despite I saved several times during work
Fuck. Why we can't have nice lego editor?
I'm either very easy to impress or that show actually IS pretty good.
>that moment when Merlok yelled Klaatu Barada Nikto
I'm genuinely amazed how un-awful it is.
>tfw Aaron made her cry
Went out for drinks with some friends and one of them brought this over to my place beforehand. Gave it to me in exchange for a couple of drinks.
What a champ.
9496 & 75020. Probably the biggest set I've ever had, to be honest.
I think my dalek design would work better.
>monkey wrench is actually a mechanical monkey wrench
My wife is a chemist, I built her a chemlab, just needs stickers on the tiles on the walls
Here's one. Girls like those "Keep Calm" memes, right?
i wonder if anyone lese remember this game, im 34, and used to play this on my amiga.
Pretty much every gamer worth a shit has at least heard of Monkey Island.
posts with pictures get more attention, sorry for not posting lego Judy, no one made her yet.
I keep hearing the Nexo Knight King's Mech is Walmart exclusive or something, is that true? that won't affect folks outside of murrica will it?
Just asking because the Nexo Knights just hit a few of the stores over here but i've yet to find the kings mech which is the one i want the most, i'm assuming that it's because the entire wave hasn't arrived yet because i couldn't find any of the ultimate sets either. I'm probably worrying too much
> posting sets
> posting fleshies
> posting licensed crap
I'm only going to buy this for the Wu Balloon.
>op of the shitty thread upset that nobody liked his garbage xwing moc
GL anon, gonna be making an order of minifig parts soon. After that it's just saving up for bigger sets.
So what stickers do you want to use?
Periodic table, notes or some equipment?
there are many who remember it.
In 2009 they did a special remake for PC, Xbox360/live, ipad/iphone.
They hand draw everything anew, full audiotext and ingame switch between original and new graphic.
Its ok, i do it too or if i know im away to find my last post. Its a good marker if you want to read everythin since your last post.
>Nexo Knight King's Mech
You can buy it in the lego stores. And as far as i can say for germany, mostly these "exclusives" are sold in other stores.
In germany you can get exclusives as far as i can tell in toys r us or in department store chain too.
Only if its special "lego store only" you might only find it in te lego store and smaller stores dont get it.
I was in Tesco today and it seems they've just fucked up the prices of smallest sets.
Those that were supposed to cost 40 PLN are 63 (microfigthers, ultimate nexos, smallest creator sets and bionicle). Prices of others are the same as those on S@H.
Also they have Chain Cycle Ambush for 99,99.
Anyone know of a place that has the astromech printings for head and body available for use as custom stickers? I'd love to be able to make custom astromechs with some printable sticker paper.
Is that a custom droid? Or which set does it come in? I bought Plo Koon's fighter because I thought it came with a cool looking droid, but I forgot that Clone Wars astromechs have retardo prints on them.
It's the head from the Microfighter X-Wing and the body from the Advent Calendar Christmas tree astromech.
tesco shoot themselves in the foot with this one, these are the best est for their price, not too expensive, not too small
add 7 zl and you can buy duck hunt, or proper propeller plane creator set.
btw, was there "desert racers" set? im looking for one
My latest MOC, built from the parts of two http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/75078_Imperial_Troop_Transport
For now I'm just calling it a Heavy Troop Transport. Might come up with a fancy name later. Goliath Transport?
Carries six passengers and one pilot, has two dorsal dual-turrets and two front cannons.
It also has impressive cargo capacity for a vehicle of it's size...
...carrying three cargo containers, which unload from the rear of the vehicle.
How come noone's made a mixel-jointed Megatron build using this guy's head? I'd do it but I don't have it.
The long one.
It's surprisingly enjoyable for the older audience due to some well done bantering between the characters and stuff that most kids won't get like references to Army of Darkness, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, old Simspons episodes, etc. .
All themes have store exclusives. In the US it's Target, Wal-Mart, or TRU. Outside America, it depends on whether or not your country has those stores.
Otherwise, they're sold everywhere and anywhere you can get your Lego.
You'll get your Mech, brave knight.
In Poland I haven't seen King's Mech, Queen's set or Merlok's Library in stores.
I guess at least one of those is TRU exclusive and the closest one TRU didn't have any Nexo sets yet.
Wow, she's cute as fuck.
Is she only in Merlok's Library so far?
>Honestly all I need is for those front parts to end at the shoulders, and I'd be perfectly fine with that piece for Ava.
I'd probably try this on one if I go with my theory of buying two of the sets in order to make the tower a bit more grand, but at $30 I don't think it would be worth it too much to double up on it.
Even if it is, the code there is no good, anyway.
Never mind, I'll update it right now.
I just searched the catalog for minifig head female in thumbnail view.
i am wathcing the show right now.. and i hear some "counting" sound , and then a nexo power code appears at the centre of the screen
so you can pull up your device and scan it.
lego, this is so ridiluciously amazing!
Checked my Walmart, the only Nexo stuff they had was the King's Mech, which is great since that's all I wanted this trip. I'm surprised my Target has way more of the Nexo than the Walmart by now.
I don't have the set that comes with the Queen, but I do have the Queen out of the new blindbags so I think it's workable.
I talk about Chima.
I know its not very loved around here, but i liked it.
Picked up King's Mech and Lavaria from the Lego store today and got a free Nexo Knights intro pack that came with a bad guy minifig, shield keychain, poster, and some stickers. pretty cool. Also everyone should definitely get the King's Mech if they haven't already.
He's tons of fun, just wish I had some chains to attach from the shield arm to the horse.
My problem with that is that Lego's prices are consistently 2-10 euros higher than local stores, I would have to wait weeks for the shipment, pay shipping probably, and I never have money on my account.
LDD is pretty annoying at times. There's no sort of conversion table or anything for angles like these?
No, Lego Digital Designer is a fantasy that doesn't exist, and hasn't existed for years
If anyone tells you it is real don't believe them and certainly don't Google "LDD" or "Lego Digital Designer"
What do you guys think of the Swamp Police Station? I'm kind of thinking of getting it since it's a semi-big building set and it's only 61 euros at my local department store while the police island and normal station are both like 100.
Besides looking dope as hell, King's Mech also has some nice storage for extra Nexo Powers on his junk, knees, and pauldrons which looks alright and helps keep those parts easy to find for swapping. It's good for those extra powers you get with each set since they generally don't have anywhere to store.
That would get annoying both for me and for the employees there. It's not worth the effort to save ~$30 dollars to me
I'm just salty that he lego store isn't closer so I could make all my purchases there in person for a more enjoyable experience
It looks like episode 6 of Nexo Knights will show main powers from Ultimate sets so we could know what to expect from Ult. Lance and Axl.
>tfw seeing other toy products left in the lego aisle
>Seeing Lego left in other aisles
>Especially the clearance aisle when it's not a clearance item.
Yes, but where specifically? I am aware of four TV codes, five webisode codes, and the chicalry power in the Nexo Power Database on Lego.com.
Where are the other two from?
Not those guys but I mostly just want the good guy sets and the horses are all in bad guy sets.
Still I'm thinking of dropping $60 on Jestro's evil mobile just for the Necronomicon and horse.
Anyone here own a Minecraft Micro World?
I want a small diorama for some Minifigures but I can't tell if it'd be TOO small. Can't find any images of the Minecraft sets with regular minifigs. And yeah I know it's Minecraft but I wanted to cannibalize the Nether just for the colours.
They are WAY out of scale. The Micro Mobs are only 2 bricks tall; a minifig is 5 tall. I'm not saying that it's impossible to use them, but it's going to take some doing to make it look good.
Ithink i found out a cheeky little reference in the cmf series 8 cheerleader. Bear in mind i'm not a burger and these don't exist in my country.
But here is her outfit...
...And here are the cheerleaders from the 70's sleazecheeze movie "The Cheerleaders"
Pretty similar right?
A short synopsis from IMDB:
"A group of cheerleaders from the local high school decide to show their school spirit for their football team by sleeping with the opponents the night before the game so that they can be so worn out the opposition won't be able to play."
Sounds pretty saucy to me, i know what i'll be watching soon atleast.
>seeing lego sets left next to the minecraft figures
To Storm Trooper Legs Anon, if it makes you feel any better, I thought I'd lost a critical piece of Worriz's Mobiel Lair, only to find it lodged in a wheel once I'd replaced the part.(I'd wondered why it was rolling funny.)
So there's a guy selling these two sets on a facebook group. They're opened, missing a few pieces and (sadly) missing the Alfred and Bruce Wayne fig.
Still, he wants 80 bucks, that's gotta be a steal right?
it depends on if he is saying "a few" or if you saw pictures and are saying a few
for that price its definitely good, but a few could easily mean the 40 rarest that he took out to keep/sell for himself
if you wanted the sets in the first place though, id go for it
worse case scenario, you've got 90% of the parts alre
