There was one on eBay that ended yesterday. I posted it here a couple of times; I hope one of us elegan/tg/entlemen came away with it!

Emperor's Teeth! It went for £19.00!
>>
>>55362609
Well it would have been a cheaper gift than a primaris chaplain.
>>
>>55362551
damn son that is grainy as fuck.
I had the same problem on a couple of minis. For the rest of them, I suggest letting them soak in simple green or some other cleaner you typically use for stripping (but I would think one that's a bit slower working) for a couple of hours then going over them with a paintbrush. It should get most of the graininess off. Other than that it's not bad, but the details are hard to see because of said graininess. Also, I'd clean up around the corner of that cloak. there's a little bit of red.
Can't say for certain, but the powersword and white looks a little thick too.

Update on Necromancer Warband.

Today I finished my Bard and a Man at Arms.

I also got the cloth base coats done on the rest of the Soldiers. I'm saving the Wizard, Apprentice and the couple of really cool models with lots of detail that will be a Templar and Knight for last.
>>
Some of you guys need to undercoat by hand rather than having a spray can fuck your minis up.
Not saying spraying is bad, but maybe spray some sprue first if you really have to spray.

There are some nice minis ruined by chalky spray undercoats.

So /WIP/, I have aaaaall this shit, its been 10 years since I last painted.

I was thinking about starting with the moonclan grots, then doing the dispossessed warriors. By then I should have enough practice to start with heros, cannons, spiderfangs, etc

The list is somewhat like:
>around 120 grots with spears
>around 60 grots with bows
>1 sour breath troggoth
>4 grot shaman
>4 grot warboss with moon slices and baby squig
>1 grot fanatic
>30 grot spider riders
>10 orruk ardboys

>around 26 dispossessed warriors
>around 16 miners (now longbeards)
>20 thunderers
>2 warden kings
> 1 unforged
>2 cannons

>12 driads
>around 20 gladeguard with broken bits
>5 glade riders (squated)

>1 dragonlord but no wings

>5 chaos riders
>1 chaos sorc I whant to pass as a gaunt summoner on disk of tzeentch
>10 demonettes

>8 mordheim amazons

I want to modify enough grots so I have 3 nets every 20 models, kinda want to fix the gladeguard, but no idea how, and want to make one of the cannon crew models into runesmiths as they are similar, but dunno on how to substitute them.

What are the Citadel Glazes good for? And when would you want to use the gloss washes instead?
>>
>>55363161
nah, I already told the story here and I believe on /AoSG/, some store owner stole most of my minis a long time ago, this is what survived mostly because it wasn't painted.
>>
>>55363205
Damn that sucks.
>>
>>55363197
I use gloss washes for armor that you want to darken, but not take the shine off of.
>>
>>55362551
Yeah man, strip and re-prime. Try to prime when the humidity is below 65% and at 30cm or so
>>
>>55363197
>What are the Citadel Glazes good for?
When you want to tint the surface of a mini with extremely thin paint. They're cleaner and subtler than washes.

>And when would you want to use the gloss washes instead?
When you're washing something glossy. Alternatively, if you gloss varnishes a mini in preparation for a wash the gloss in the shade will reduce the surface tension even further, allowing for nice pin washes. (I still prefer oil washes though) You can matte coat afterword.

>>55363205

He made a new FLGS in my country and they are quite rare, I needed a job after I returned from Italy and thought it would be perfect to help the guy out as I wanted to keep painting my little toy soldiers. 6 months later I had one week off as I needed to sort some personal things. When I returned the store was no more and he never answered the phone.now its been too long so even if I could talk to him it would most likely be useless.

On the bright side I found all this last week, buried deep in my house. So I decided to start playing again. As of now I'll start with what I have, which for some reason makes most people on /AoSG/ rage, but I'm just happy I get to have at least two armies so I can play with friends

So how do people figure out complementary colours?
Like what goes with Mephiston Red
I was thinking Mephiston+evil sunz and admin grey
glowy bits blue with blue+white
>>
How do I do coloured metallics like 30k alpha legion without an airbrush? I tried mixing silver with a colour and it was ok but dulled the sheen quite a bit while making the colour itself really light. Any subsequent dulling by washes cut the shine drastically.

I heard of just washing/glazing plain silver repeatedly, does that work? I'd like something dark metallic purple.
>>
>>55364143
>>
>>55364165
I've been painting metallic purple for a while, and yeah, mixing silver and a colour will not give you a good look.
I've found two ways
>Light silver base, carefully layering a wash on top.
Will probably give the best look, but is very time consuming and hard to do consistently. I was wishing for death after painting a couple terminators this way.
>a mix of metallic medium and your desired colour
easy way, and isnt too far from the result you'd get with the previous method. Just remember to mix 'em thorougly. also easier to fix when you accidentally splat another colour on the armour when fx painting the rims on shoulders.

Hope it helps anon

Just an update on my post last thread, my Battlefleet gothic Tyranid fleet is coming along nicely, I've decided to paint the boarding craft purple as a nice contrast to the green fighters, plus in my head it's a great homage to the genestealers I imagine to be inside
>>
>>55364218
Thanks a lot! Yeah I've been considering metallic medium. What brand is good (in terms of performance and price)? Most of my paints are Vallejo Game and while most of them are good, the metallics are borderline dogshit.
>>
>>55364249
sadly i've only tried vallejo's metallic medium, so i can't give you a comparison or advice on best product, but i've been happy with mine, so take that for what you will.

wish i was at home so i could get a picture of what to expect.
>>
>>55364307
No worries mate, your advice is still precious. I'm waiting on an order from Wayland atm for some washes and lahmian (last time I buy from them, sat on my money for a week and their excuse was "several big orders, couldn't ship", how fucking hard is it to buy 6 small paint pots ina box you mongos..). I'll test out that druchii violet on silver first then I'll see about getting some metallic medium.
>>
>>55363512
Are you the Hawaii bro that had trouble last time?
I'm from Hawaii too, I just primed a bunch of mini's last week. I suggest you do them at night, that's when I get the best results. Eight or so once it's cooled down a bit.
What island?
>>
>>55364338
>i'm waiting on an order from Wayland atm
you have my deepest condolences.
If you're situated in the uk or that general area, maybe try out Element Games. similar discounts on everything and reasonable shipping times (i usually get my stuff in 4-5 days here in Denmark)

Good luck on your metallic space marines, hope to see them crop up in this thread at some point.

Lads I started test-painting my kans, but should I start over and panel-light them? I don't know if it suits ork vehicles and very few people seem to do it, but almost everything I've used it on in the past (historicals mainly) looked better for it
>>
>>55364357
Oahu, you? Also night priming isn't a bad idea at all. I'm going to live with my mistake though. I don't want to buy more paint
>>
>>55364404
I'm in Oahu, up the road from Ala Moana , I had the same issue and night priming fixed it up. I also made sure the shake the fuck out of my can too. If you have any that are primed but not painted yet, give them a little scrub with some cleaner and they might be fine.
>>
>>55364427
I'll give it a try, what's your army? I might have seen you at arm chair or other realms.
>>
>>55364440
I only just started collecting last year so I haven't had a chance to play yet, mostly enjoying painting and doing my own GS sculpts.
Asstarts for what it matters. Though I'm not sure I'll give playing a try anytime soon, I'm not even looking at the codices as I build my dudes.
I've been in Other realms to buy shit the past few weekends though, I think there was a 40k event a couple of weeks ago.
>>
>>55364494
Yeah, the codexes are free here on tgs 40kg, i play a ton of armies, GSC, Space Wolves, Deathguard, Black Templar, Orcs, Guard tank list (lucky 13s), and tau. There are a lot of meta fags here though.

Any tips on how to make this dude look less ultramarine? So much ultra cock smoking with these primaris I'm having a hard time converting.
>>
>>55364358
I've heard lots of good stuff from element, I'm definitely trying them out next and not buying from wayland again. Shipping costs for them are a bit hit or miss. I live in Malta, so generally take a week to a week and a half to arrive.

I will post 'em eventually. my CSM pirates will all have different colour schemes depending on their origins or natures. but will have a single unifying mark which I'm still researching. Still considering wether I should make different schemes by the unit or the model (or handfuls of models). Say a 10-man CSM unit would have 4 different colour schemes.
>>
>>55364576

New heads and shoulders. If the heads are of similar size to the old manlet marines as I've been led to believe.
You could do Forgeworld, which has chapter specific heads that are similar in design to the Primaris, which I think is just a modified Mark V?
Then I guess it depends on the chapter. BA could get away with just doing some blood drops, since they share a pretty similar look to smurfs, excluding the nipple armor.

Space wolves I'd just sculpt a fur loincloth and maybe shoulder pelts, and swap the heads as well.

that body armor for that particular model could work rather well for any Imperial Fist or BA chapter since they have similar designs, with just swapping to chapter specific shoulders.
>>
>>55364631
My two pence would be to also have specific squad markings on one shoulder in adition to your pirate chapters mark on the other.

I wouldnt worry too much about the number of schemes in a squad, as long as you make it clear that they march in that specific squad. But yeah, maybe keeping it to 3-4 schemes at most will probably be best, also considering that soldiers will often band together with mates they've already served with.
>>
>>55364694
Thank you, that's quite a good idea, I'll use that! The fluff for them is essentially Red Corsairs that are too much of a loose cannon to roll with Huron's dudes but are too good at what they do to refuse. So he banded them together and sent them off into a region of space to have a good time. These guys are balls-to-the-walls insane, was incredibly fun making shit up for them, so the colour schemes make sense. Got traitors and renegades from all walks of life.

I have the chapter symbol but I don't have the colour or pattern. It's difficult to pick due to the varied schemes, there's no single contrasting choice that stands out. Might go with a random piece of armour.
>>
>>55364769

You could do something similar to what the deathwatch do with their silver arm.
All your pirates can have different colours and scemes, but maybe their helmets or someting else, always bear a stripe of a certain colour. Just make sure it's not a colour that clashes too much with all the different schemes you got going on.
Or did you just mean the colours for the chapter symbol ? i'm very tired
>>
>>55364870
Oh no, that's exactly what I mean, like the Deathwatch. chapter symbol will most likely be silver, so I need to plan out each of the colour schemes and do some tests. It's quite a chore, but I think it'll be worthwhile.

Actually, you can judge this idea. One of my termielords is a slaaneshy obsessed with performance and theatre. He wears a giant vaudeville-style mask and even has that "two masks, one smiling, one frowning" symbol on a shoulderpad (only he's chaos so they're both screaming). Thinking of doing his scheme to be pink/flesh armour like Emp's children and the trim is done in colourful patchwork like the Harlequins.

He might look ugly and garish, an insult to the senses, which is exactly the look I'm going for, but I want it to look bad in a good way.

I'm moving house so packing everything up and probably leaving it in storage for a couple of months while we focus on the house. Taking this opportunity to have a bit of a break and hopefully come back with some vigour. Depressing how little I've painted since starting in January.
>>

I love the idea, it sounds like a colourfull character (no pun intended)
I'd say go for it, but just keep in mind that going for 'looking bad in a good way', is really hard to pull off.

>>
>>55365265
Yeah I do, the rims and trim around the entire model. Maybe some areas like little demonfaces on the chaos termie armour in dirty gold to not have that pain in the ass.

>Depressing how little I've painted since starting in January.

Dude, your work has been the single most outstanding progress on this board. Full stop. It's not about painting a lot at once. It's about producing outstanding works of art.
>>

I recently got some bits from Anvil as well - they're top tier, to be sure. Rapid shipping too. I need to order some more helmets, too.
>>
>>55365353
I'm having a hard time visualizing that kind of pattern on the trims, but i'm an advocate of experimentation and unique ideas, so go for it.

>'looking bad in a good way', is really hard to pull off.
>Why though? I guess cause subjective opinions?
Because you're stradling a knife's edge of ''looks kinda bad, but it's clearly intentional'' to ''it just looks plain bad''.
It really comes down to the small stuff and excecution.
And you are correct in there's alittle subjective opinions going on, since even when you pull off a style well, not all will like that style. But that goes for so many things in miniature painting (just look at metallic vs NMM discussions)
>>
>>55365221
Dude I love everything you do. I have saved the pdf you gave us on how you paint and I plan to do some plague marines following your tips. You are an artist anon, seriously
>>
>>55365431
I see, you're right yes. I will experiment! It will certainly look weird, especially on the flesh colours but I'm willing to try as it fits with the theme and character.

I got 10 marines, 4 obliterators, an exalted champion (who is also nuts about performance as he's on a wooden stage and holding a skull like Hamlet, he idolizes the termie lord) and a Doomrider-expy bikerlord to colour, and I'm a wee bit stumped.

What if, since my pirates are all nutjobs, the chapter colour is red/orange/yellow/white like a flame. On their helmets cause they're hotheads?

Tried to do a de-cloaking effect on my Stealth Suits. Any tips on how I can improve it?

The un-cloaked parts aren't anywhere near done, all I did was base in the black and green, so don't worry about those at the moment.
>>
>>55365677
Actually looks pretty good mate.
Maybe adding some ziggzagging-ness to the line, but that's more up to taste.
The only two advice i'd actually give is maybe adding a single light blue wash tie the white and blue together, and then maybe stippling some lighter browns on the cloaked parts to emulate the gravel look of the base.
>>
>>55365634
>I've seen some heresy.jpg
Thank you for your feedback! I wouldn't be able to do it on all helmets but some article of clothing, weapon or armour on their bodies would have said glow. Would definitely stand out and yes, glowing eyes are a great idea. I'd need to look up how to do a slight glow effect around the eyes too, it can help my skill.

Don't want to be stuck on one idea though, so I'll keep digging for nice schemes to try and chapter colours/motifs. I think the fluff will also help me come up with them.
>>
>>55365704

Believe it. Even on the starter kit guys, a little sawing and replacing goes a long way.

Now that I'm thinking about it, would it be a cop out to have a simple black chapter colour like a shoulderpad? Considering they're pirates n all, traditionally black/red flags.

They're eBay rescues, and they were glued together like that in a way I couldn't easily fix (it's not moldlines, the halves are misaligned). Annoys me too, but oh well, the squad cost five bucks.

He means "I was only paid £0.03 per post to shill for GW". As for your actual question, it depends how much green stuffing you're willing to do and how willing you are to deviate from the classic scout aesthetic. I'd say the torsos are fine, you could shave down the legs & GS cloth trousers onto them, either Reiver or scout heads (or maybe Catachan) depending on preference, could use Skitari backpacks for a less power armoured look. Not sure about arms, they look very power armour, but the scout ones are way too small. Might have to look to 3rd parties for less heavily armoured arms of that scale.
>>

so I got this stucco from an ironmongery in my search for basing materials on the cheap. Wood putty didn't work, far too brittle and crumbled everywhere (though has potential as a weathering powder once grinded down, will need to test that).

This one dried nice n hard, dug my fingernail in this shit and didn't budge or mark, good sign. Painted it Vallejo Game electric blue, washed asurmen blue, drybrushed again electric and then white. looked awesome like a cartoon-y or japanese woodcut style water.

I decided to try sealing it with PVA for both protection and watery sheen. It worked.. but a simple poke with a blunted toothpick yoinked this shit up. PVA soaked up all the paint and softened the stucco below it. One big fucking soup skin effect.

Why.
>>
>>55367482
I don't know about stucco, but I use this as one of my basing tools. It's a kind of spackle paste and works great as a lightly textured surface and for building up shapes etc. on a base. I've glued course sand over it and used water effects on it and haven't had any issues.

I haven't been able to find "spackle" (I'm in Malta so italian/german stuff for the most part). But damn I thought this was good. I mean I'd only use it for water for the most part though. Maybe I just really need to water it down? I did put the PVA fairly thick.

I don't know what to pick as a supports for my pipe network.
Either I can go with the foam (top one) or 3d print the pieces (bottom one). the 3D print is easier because it doesn't need any work compared to foam, but it'll be quite hard to hide the lines on it, the side not seen has more visible lines on it as well.

I like 'em. Check the pictures out on the link. They're a little smaller than normal SM powerpacks, but I tried one on a marine before I started glueing/painting it looked pretty fucking cool. Cool enough for me to take a cast of anyway.

>>55373092

Cheers anon. I figured that. I was using washes though so feathering didn't turn out as well as I expected on my test piece. Even when I let it dry a little it just looked odd. I don't know whether it was down to the amount of pigment in the wash but it just seemed like a mess. So I settled for a little overlap instead. If I try it again with a solid colour as opposed to a wash I'll definitely put a gradient in there.

>>55373098

I know that feeling, having worked with Dust mini's for years. It's a fucking nightmare - you either cut too little, and the prominent line shows up after painting, or you cut off too much and ruin what little detail there is. Hiding mould lines via painting is something I had to learn really fucking quickly.

Yeah, some of their stuff is tits for tit's sake, but their armour designs etc are top notch. They do some accessories, but their range isn't huge. The TS conversion stuff they do make is very nice. I've got a bunch of it but haven't made any up yet. The pictures on the site don't do it any real justice.

I tend to dive in feet-first with my painting now. I used to put off a lot of stuff because I didn't want to fuck it up. Now I know how to strip resin without turning it into toxic sludge I'll just go for it. I've learned far more that way instead of just settling for easy sculpts.

Can anyone here recommend a good airbrush and/or compressor?

I'm looking for something reliable, easy to use/maintain, and not too expensive -- prioritized in that order.

Now that the Horus Heresy game from Forgeworld is mostly confirmed to not be changing, I've finally gotten motivated to finish my army.

Oh, yeah, also looking for a good site selling Warhammer-sized skulls and other macabre trophies to decorate my Night Lords. I'm pretty sure I can handle making human-skin leather out of Greenstuff or another modelling putty, but stuff like skulls and other bones are well beyond my skill.

I think it helps that they're the metal ones and not the derpy plastics.
>>
>>55374222
Iwata Eclipse is the general recommended airbrush. It's a bit higher quality and more universal than the Badger Krome which is the Badger equivalent, it's affordable since it's regularly sold at around $100, and it's also nice enough to be your endgame airbrush.

If you need something even cheaper and lower quality, really any cheapo airbrush will work, even the $20 brandless ones. There's actually a very cheap Chinese knockoff of the Iwata Eclipse, I forget the name but search for it and buy that one.
>>
>>55374049
My nigga, that's the way. You will never learn anything new by taking it easy. Besides, what use is spending good money to have some cool shit gathering dust in the back of some drawer full of regrets?

Either do it up to the best of your abilities and be happy with the result or simply don't bother buying it in the first place. I admit, i am apprehensive about painting my two TK sphinxes eventually (when the TS get their codex and I do a revamp) but I've had these kits for legit like 5 years now, I got them off the old Maelstromgames so you can imagine.

They'd be cheap.

My latest Warzone to Imperial Guard.
Two different grenade wielding dudes.
The first is throwing a grenade. He's got a Catachan grenade left hand, and I flipped the thumb on the side of another Warzone imperial hand to get his right hand.
The second has a grenade launcher from the Cadian sprue.

Yeah man, Maelstrom was amazing for me starting off. Great service and prices. Then they went down the shitter and started scamming people, I had a Necron Wraith box ordered for like 2 weeks before I realized something was up and I got my bank to force a refund.

It is yeah, maulerfiends. Though that said I didn't really convert MUCH. I reposed one extensively though. Magnetized arms in case I ever want to make some guns for Forges. I do want to get on them and I will, but I'm finishing up my Tau and Renegade CSM first. I want to have them done and painted so all I have is TS non-stop.

I'm terrified Maulers won't be allowed in TS lists[/spoilers]

Unfortunately not the REALLY old battleforce that came with the russ & 2 sentinels.

Catachan Battleforce NiB
5 man command squad
20 infantry
3 heavy weapon teams
1 sentinel

Catachan Infantry Squad NiB:
20 infantry

Catachan Battleforce opened:
5 man command squad
1 sentinel
3 heavy weapon teams
<20 infantry

I bought these originally so I could use the legs and a few rifles for a conversion (poor man's elysians: Cadian head/torso, catachan legs, greenstuff drop harness, FW or 3rd party grav chutes). But it didn't go well, I mostly left the game, and then I sold all my Cadians.
Can't recall how many bits I used, but at least one 10-man squad from the battleforce should be complete.

Not sure on price. What sounds fair to you?

Unless you're trying to do lines as thin as a hair, a .35mm needle is small enough, and even then you can mostly manage that with .35mm.

I'm a sucker for warband games because I love the idea of the army improving game to game and Frostgrave does it pretty well, especially for the Wizard.

It has a lot of cool scenarios, and even more if you have the expansion books. I really like the big number of scenarios because it's given me a reason to build a lot of scenario specific terrain pieces.

I'm building this Necromancer Warband because I'm going to be playing through the Thaw of the Lichlord campaign and I'd like to try to have this Necromancer ascend to Lichdom.

There aren't really rules for model use, you just use anything.

Though it'd probably be fair play to let your opponent treat them as the sort of average height of a 28mm human for Line of Sight purposes.

Then again, if he can't see you, you can't see him. So I guess it just kinda comes down to a quick chat before a game.
>>
>>55375857
Not him but whatI don't like about these warband games is that youir dudes grow and get items but what happenes to the minis? You keep buying new variations to represent them on the mini? Won't you be a tricked out loot hoarder by the end yet you're still using a peasant with a knife?

One of the cool things about making a bunch of warbands is the Soldiers are all the same troops regardless of what your Wizard is. So you could really make the Soldiers you'd need and then just swap out your Wizard and Apprentice and bam, new War band.

Do people just not understand that if you don't know how to do something, you should look up how to do it? Or maybe they just assume they're competent at things that they've never done before and have no experience with for some inexplicable reason.

Regardless, there's no good reason why the first model painted by a mentally normal adult should look that bad. Strip it and try again and this time follow the instructions in this video by games workshop themselves that you get as a result if you google "how to paint red space marines".

or anything Mozalbete has painted,

https://i.imgur.com/DJvTiSl.jpg

but I keep wimping out for lack of a better term and drifting towards an olive drab or other sorts of more reasonable colors that I can just cover with washes.

I think I found a nice middle ground with pic related (green armor plates white vloth bits and orange markings), it doesn't feel too over the top but it could really pop with bright orange. Now the question is: which colors I should use for this green/white/orange scheme if I want to make it a little more dramatic? I'm thinking warpstone glow green and troll slayer orange, but I just have no idea if these will be too bright or too drab. As for the white should I err on the grey side or the cream side for my shading? Could anyone with a little more experience advise me?

fuck sake niggers, spray on some spare sprue before spraying your models.
>>
>>55378553
It's a thing that happens when the paint starts to dry in the air before it gets to the model, so you're basically spraying it with powder. So it's usually high temperature or too much distance.
>>
>>55378456
speaking of this >>55378405 how did you screw this up? I want to replicate.

Did you make sure to keep both the model AND the spray can in the area you were planning on spraying for at least half an hour before doing so?
If you don't let the model and the spray acclimate to the temperature before spraying, stuff like that happens.

In fact, the half hour minimum is probably too low. I never spray unless I let 'em rest for at least an hour.

I ordered one of these that goes directly into the gun between the line and previous filter, does anyone know if it will be enough to fix the water issue? As of last night I was only able to airbrush for 15mins before my compressor became too hot and water was unavoidable. I've also considered getting a small tank and second air line, possibly with another water filter to add to the compressor chain and eliminate heat from being anywhere near the main line.
I'm in a tropical environment so my room is probably humid to some extent. Should I just give up on my compressor (it's nice) and get a cheapo with a tank? Or try to rig all these filters in some chain?

I don't think you linked to the post you intended.

Working on an Admec/ Imp Guard army with supplemental Inquisition. I plan on doing White for the main color and gold for the tertiary. What paints do you guys recommend?

Using a compressor without a tank is just asking for difficulty. Get one with a tank and a moisture trap in your line and you'll never have the problem again.

I know
>Death Guard
but I think you're going a bit heavy on the washes. You shouldn't let them pool up like they did in the bib and on the horn.

I like your scheme. I'm going to be using the 30k colours too when I do my own DG. What shade of white did you use?

Much appreciated mate, I'll give a pic of what I have right now. I know they are shit don't remind me.
>>
>>55380424
Use an offwhite you like rather than pure white. Only use white for the most extreme highlights.
>>
>>55380466
Think I can buy just any small tank on eBay and run my compressor into it? That can't be too hard right, I'd maybe need an extra air hose?
>>
>>55380667
Then you'd need a pressure control valve on the output of the tank. You'd also need to buy all the fittings and whatnot.

You're probably better off just buying a compressor with a tank.
>>
>>55380709
Makes sense. I should've listened to the WiP threads in the first place and got the one with the tank. Was using the compressor before I started airbrushing so no loss but thought I could wing it.
>>
>>55380614
Still learning to do proper highlighting but I'll take your advice, thanks.
>>
>>55379487
Decent. Get some highlights going on the scarlet texture and they'll look great.
>>
>>55379487
Pretty good, I'd be happy seeing that across the table.

Nearly finished this Doomrider conversion, just waiting on one last bit to show up and need to file down some of the green stuff on the leg and left hand once they dry.

I really hope you can pull this off and paint it well.

At the moment it just looks like it's full of green porridge.
>>
>>55372021
I would have personally done it in yellow and blue but that's just my taste. It looks great so far, make sure you add a coat of gloss to lacquer the armor

My G5 was a disgusting mess too until I took it apart and washed the pieces.

Could I get some feedback on this intercessor sergeant? I think I went a bit overboard on the battle damage but am otherwise happy with how it turned out.

Scale 1:35 Trumpeter KV-2 model

I bought these for a bit less than 1/4 of the price of a Forge World kill tank over Amazon, but a friend told me you can get them even cheaper if you just order from China directly.

What do you think of a Ynnari scheme with the far right colors? I want to implement a unit of shadow spectres and I think the color of white would be perfect, the bottom being for the rest of the army
>>
How do I paint engine oil and soot? Preferably with citadel paints, they are the ones I know.
>>
>>55382105
Looks nice
I'd be interested in seeing how that gloss carries over to a model
>>
>>55382004
Might be your camera and the angle, but I can barely make out the definition of a torso and a head.

What might work better, but also be more difficult is start with sculpting armature or using wire for these first and then sculpting the nurgle rot on top.
You can then get a better variety of textures for different disease. You have more feature.
You can work random horns, claws and eyes in better that way.
Definitely a more defined face.
exaggerated facial features and smiling grins are very nurgly.

It'll be on these, I'm unsure of the finish when it comes to painting over it with acrylics however.
For the primary scheme I think a red would really compliment the teal, be it sashes or flags
>>
>>55382283
I should note I won't go with red for those models, fluff has it that the frilly cloth is of purpose to their stealth technology. Likely kept white, perhaps with some digital mapping marks at the edges to show they're conductive, some alien energy

Got any spare nurdgle daemon heads? even just a plague bearer.
Horn on the head would be good. Horns and antlers make it look very much like a nurgle daemon.
Look at models from the nurgle range for more inspiration.

I believe in you!
