Okay so I have just started rereading the series from the start in order to gain inspiration for the Baki Jump
This is the basic outline of what I have planed and is VERY much subject to change.
The 800cp Capstone perks would basically put you a little under the level of the Top fighters in the series, you can guess which since their names are listed there.

For the Scenarios I'm debating whether or not to even include them or lock the Jumper out of their OOC powers if they take them, since the average Jumper would probably be able to blow everyone in this setting out of the water otherwise

I only like builds that are posted in response to a jump being made UNLESS there's a greater narrative being told. Just random builds being posted tells me nothing. See Dullahan's (and to a lesser extent RavenloftAnon's) chain for an example of the cream of the crop. Don't really mind the content as long as it helps the story being told along.

I usually find them after the thread is archived and I can't respond to them without accidentally reviving shit from the thread they were in.

I would post my own builds but I worry I'd forget to continue or that I'd accidentally start a shitstorm with them, so I just make jumps instead. Surprisingly that requires less engagement if the thread doesn't zero in on them.

It doesn't directly help with happy endings, but No Need To Think About It from Nier (regular, not Automata) makes it so that your actions never lock you out of further actions. If it turned out you accidentally butterflied away the thing that would save the day, you can still save the day some other way even if it was supposed to be the only way possible. Which means that all those "I was secretly doing this all for the greater good, by killing me you've let loose a terrible evil" villains can go sit on it and spin, we don't need their excuses.

Castellum was mostly happy to keep to himself here. While there were many useful skills to acquire in this world his usual method was untenable. So instead he just lazed around and enjoyed having a human body again while working on improving his dungeon form further. With his new reactor he was able to vastly accelerate the speed of his upgrades. Auctor had a grand old time messing around with Spell Cards and actually got involved in helping against incidents, while Sol kept mostly to himself, a bit bitter about being the only one without an actual human form. All in all it was a nice relatively safe world for them and they enjoyed it once they got over being Isekai'd again. In all seriousness know next to nothing of the setting, could try doing bullet pattern speculation as filler but don't really feel like it.

Basically, literary wizards ruin everything and drag the entire world into a world wide war by pulling fictional nuke equivalents to bear against each other in a rapidly escalating hot war for petty power struggle reasons. No my friend you're miss reading the perk. Think of it like Fate presenting you a prompt for a Sidequest, even if you don't know everything it entails you always have a chance to reject it. Moreover, it provides *challenges* to help you grow; not just git gud at killing things, and the challenges scale in accordance to the aspect they'll test/help grow.

Depending on your situation saving a music school from closing down might be a suitable social, teaching, artistic or even business "challenge; though even that could just be a setup for the "real" challenge, which would be trying settle things with a Companion you've been avoiding ever since you screwed them over some how, or even just forcing jumper to interact with "normal people" and reconnect with his past.

Basicallly it's FIat based escalation, the harder you push or try to game the system; the harder GAIA pushes back. He only loses that protection on your 10th year since they feel they have "enough" data to personally challenge you now; which is when you can kick their ass.

So in world hacking could definitely be huge trump card to spring against him during that final battle; use it before then, and you're just adding more tricks to his deck.

...That's not how it works. The CP you get is fixed. 1,000 CP. It doesn't change. It's been that way since the beginning. The most any single thing costs is also fixed. 600 CP what that gets you can vary on the setting. In Pokemon, top of the line 600 CP can get you Aura Powers or Psychic Abilities. In Emoji, 600 CP top of the line can let you opt out of the Plot. But 600 CP should be the top it the line. Never, ever have 800 CP as a regular tier for all backgrounds. That is just you as a jumpmaker trying to one-up the other jumps and be a special snowflake.

Some few other jumps have done it, and they are worse off for it.

In my opinion, an undiscounted 800cp perk warps the entire jump around it, forcing everyone to consider whether they want to commit to getting it or work around the 'need' for it in some way.

It's just an added barrier to making a balanced jump, and often doesn't seem worthwhile.

So the reason I put the 800 on there in the first place is because I felt like it was appropriate for a perk that was intended to put you near the peak

I could go with an Undiscounted Capstone Booster for 300 or 400 to get the same effect but I haven't decided what any of the perks are actually going to be so the point is moot for now anyway

If you were required to purchase certain things that had prices that seemed arbitrary based on internal I might agree, but when you decide to buy something you're the one deciding whether or not it's the best, most optimal choice for your build. Basically, I support things being priced what they're worth, and if people decide it isn't right for them, they have no obligation to include those things in their build.

When I think of perks of that level they sit in a very strange sweetspot of "Rare and amazing enough to be beyond a normal capstone, yet not so rare and amazing that they're relegated to undiscounted or priced even higher."

They're really good, they're thematic for the origin, you'd be a special case in some way just by having it, but it's also not so impossible to get or absurd to give out that you (as the Jumpmaker) just decide to not include it at all or price it extremely high. Does that make any sense?

Because while I dislike the idea of it due to seeing only two species ever qualify for becoming Worgen, at the same time the only other qualifiers I can see for why that would be a thing to begin with should qualify other races as well. Tauren (and to an extent kinda trolls) would qualify because of Druidism, and if the other requirement is living in places that have strong connections to the Emerald Dream? Wildhammer dwarves live next to a sodding Emerald Dream portal in the Hinterlands; There's furbolg, harpies, and other species in Mount Hyjal of all places; There's fucking Vrykul in the Grizzly Hills, which is where Ursoc & Ursol's dens are and is also where Vordrassil's presence still remains.

On top of that, as has been pointed out + has been demonstrated in the comics, worgen are strong enough to outclass and tear apart forces that would take many other heroes and warriors to properly combat. Plus - they're resistant to undeath to the point that only the Lich King's power could turn them into death knights (with Sylvanas' val'kyr and basic bitch necromancers being unable to turn worgen into undead). Add on to that that their saliva and blood can spread the curse to others...

Much as I may not like the idea, I don't have much ground to make it NOT a modifier as opposed to a specific race.

Are there any Isekai where the protagonist is summoned/reborn or whatever and people are expecting him to be some godlike savior... but he's just a regular nerd and has to toughen/smarten up or get fucked?

No. I admitted some jumps can handle a 800 CP item properly. Also note those jumps DON'T use 800 CP stuff as the new capstone for every background. They are all High Concept stuff that is an entire powerset by themselves. One is "Being a Martian" and is a race transcending background options. Another is a "You are a scarab" which is like a power ring, in that is a complete hero origin by itself. And the other is "Having Starfire's Powerset" which is a bit like "being a Kryptonian" it is an entire package thing by itself.

800 CP's as part of a perkline are different, and worse.

The Demon Castle from Hero BBS isn't a city... but you could make it look like one, if you tried hard enough.

Lands from Kamigawa retain changes IIRC, and are summoned into jumps instead of retconned into being somewhere near you, so you could be absolutely flawless as many times as you bought lands if you're willing to make your cities manually.
