>Jumper vs Skitter
Well, to be fair, as the Aburame in this... It's more like Jumper-Ninja-Skitter vs Ninja with tasty eyes. And trees.
>>
Posting this again because no one really offered any feedback last thread.
>>
What perks can allow you to have instant reaction time?
>>
>>54867250
APM from SAO. Your reflexes become "As fast as they need to be"
>>
So, why do so many jumpers want to waifu Kaguya? Isn't she just Turles in drag?
>>
how do you avoid ninjas jumpers?
More importantly how do you hunt ninja jumpers?
>>
>>54867264
She's also literally got no emotions but mad according to the guy who can sense emotions.

How does the Beast Inside work if you're Yin Kurama? Or if you have one of the early start drawbacks?

...do bloodlines work normally, despite you being an energy kaiju now?

So, I've been taking forever to update this, but here's the current Law of Ueki WIP.

Main changes:
- Celestial Beast origin and perk line.
- A few more items.

Feedback would be appreciated.
>>
>>54867266
You avoid them by being an actual fucking ninja, and not leaping into battle and throwing around fireballs like some kind of wizard.

How do you hunt ninja jumpers? Awareness perks.
>>
I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I got to ask. Is is possible to take both Samurai Supremacy and Enduring Whirlpool? Like, use your Samurai skills and fighters to defend Uzushiogakure and convince them and others that Samurai weebs are better than Ninja weebs?
>>
>>54867324
>Awareness perks.
Poisons. Acids. Sedatives.
Memetic kill agents carved into trees and rocks.
Uh, be sure to innoculate your allies. To like, all of those things. Especially the last one.
>>
>>54867266
How do you hunt ninja jumpers? You use the jumper mating call to set up an ambush.

>"I'm so drunk!"
>>
>>54867345
What settings even have the last one besides SCP?
>>
>>54867220
Your fluff is awful. Your descriptions are some of the most boring things ever. Your drop in 200 perk is just embarassing to see written. Rewrite some of this stuff.
>>
>>54867331
Do one better: Samurai Supremacy + Founding Father.

Convert Hashi and Madara to the Way of the Sword.
>>
>>54867220
Maybe some more drawbacks, like losing access to Soul, or having someone with a vendetta against you.

Also, I agree with the other anon on fluff, although I assumed that a bit of it was placeholder material.

>Wishwater changed back
>Even though the arguments the guy used to convince CW were the exact same things shot down over and over before
>CW goes on about lots of people now supporting him despite it just being the same guy making the same argument
>The only limit is omnipotence again, since the maker has demonstrated his full belief the wish water should have no limits
Cataquack, I want your jump to fucking die. This whole bullshit you have caused, and your continual fucking over of people here because you are utterly obsessed with giving out this broken power, has made me gone from thinking that you were a good up-and-coming jump maker to just genuinely hating you. You're a piece of shit.
>>
>>54867318
...meh. I think Ragyō is hotter and I still wouldn't put my dick in her either.
And I like crazy chicks. It's like frosting. Put in or on a cake and it makes it better. But nothing but it and you'll get sick.

...and I am using this analogy even though my mother and grandfather would eat cakes made of nothing but frosting.
>>
>>54867322
Why does absorbtion still have the meta canon companion line? That perk also needs a price boost since it's way more appealing then most of the other stuff.
>>
>>54867377
Your mistake was having expectations for the jumpmaker considered to be the Dirge replacement.
>>
>>54867377
It was pretty funny watching him turn around and try and use the argument that took hours to get him to admit made no sense to justify this again.
>>
>>54867318
We have to justify it?
>>
>>54867377
Because apparently it's not stronger then the genie one.

You know

Despite the genie option being limited to Disney feats. Because Genies' aren't all powerful.

But hey, remember that big talk we all had discussing how SB likes to see an inch, take a mile? It looks like Cataquack really has naturalised to that place, since he see's Genie's restrictions, completely ignores the context, and plops it on his.
>>
>>54867420
Turns out this wasn't a new thread, but we entered the hit show "To catch a crazy milf hunting Jumper."
I thought it was cancelled after one jumper performed an Avada Kedavra on himself when he was caught.
>>
>>54867377
>The only limit is omnipotence again, since the maker has demonstrated his full belief the wish water should have no limits
No, the only limit is "whatever it is in-setting", like the Genie from Disney Princess, which is a matter of fanwanking. Though it's an issue that something that good replenishes indefinitely.
>>
>>54867264
This >>54867318 >>54867379

>>
Want a great highlight?

>Brellin
>Likewise. I never go there unless I'm trying to get a jump on their drive or unless someone is trying to start nonsense using my name/stuff and it gets pointed out to me, like that bullshit Extingent "WIP jump" that got "made" a month or so ago.

SBers literally never go to 4chan JC unless they want something on the drive. How desperate are these dumbfucks for online popularity?
>>
>>54867452
Wuya isn't a milf, she has no children.

I would give her some though.
>>
>>54867220
How would Hollow Reprisal react to 1Up perk and items, does it kick in when you lose your mortal shell or after losing your individuality or automata failed jump.
>>
>>54867450
And the issue with that is that the creator of the jump apparently sees the in setting uses as having no real limits. He was completely fine with it being used to defeat your greatest foe, with no limits on the power of that foe, before.

It is not even close to the genie's limits because of how Cataquack Warrior has demonstrated he views the limits- i.e he doesn't.
>>
>>54867412

>How desperate are these dumbfucks for online popularity?
They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. The SBers that don't come to the thread and try to get their shit on the drive are elitist, the SBers that do are attention whores.
>>
>>54867486
Only problem with that is that the SBers that do come to the thread yet also actively take part in the community are generally well liked, aside from the SB shitposters.

>>
>>54867474
>And the issue with that is that the creator of the jump apparently sees the in setting uses as having no real limits
And that's fucking retarded, so it can be freely ignored unless it's in the jump. If CCDT said an Avada Kedavra could one-shot YVVH, it wouldn't matter because he's wrong.
>>
>>54867452
>milfs are hot as fuck.
But that goes without saying. If a MILF wasn't hot, she wouldn't be a MILF. She'd be a...MIWLF?
>>
>>54867503
I understand that, but it is a personal pet peeve of mine. My apologies for being a dick about it.
>>
>>54867511
Except what is in the jump is...no limits. It just says to fanwank something. People are perfectly allowed to fanwank that they can wish for anything they want in it. That is in the jump. There are no limits to it's power in the jump and certainly nothing outside of it.

You might as well give up on any sort of endjump thing when you can buy an item that gives you a nearly limitless wish every single jump.
>>
jesus fucking christ we're back to arguing over fucking wish water

Fucking congratulations Cataquack. You actually managed what I think is the first genuine multi thread, multi hour long singular actual argument in years.
>>
>>54867525
Hah, true.

>>54867527
No problem.
>>
>>54867503
That's understandable.
But it's still fucking wrong.
She'd be a cougar
>>
>>54867494
>SBers that do come to the thread yet also actively take part in the community are generally well liked
The other SBers just want to emulate their success without putting in the same effort of showing up, and they don't want to be considered a shitposter like Dirge, Brellin, Record, etc.
>>
>>54867357
Could you elaborate a little more?

>>54867471
I'm pretty sure that 1Ups won't have any...effect? Mostly because you're not dying, just becoming part of some physics destroying substance.

Though if the 1Ups refer to keeping your individuality, then they should work as normally.
>>
>>54867542
Cougars specifically go after younger men. Wuya is cougar though, what with her flirting with Raymundo.
>>
>>54867553
...I just did. I pointed out a specific example. Do I hate to quote it for you?

>Why don’t I just skip the quote, and tell you what this does? You gain the ability to materialize Nails in the air to strike at your enemies, or project great spears from the ground to impale your enemies.

Stop being lazy Echo and actually write proper descriptions.
>>
>>54867503
This is somewhat off topic, but I've been having this weird idea recently that Salem's possessing Summer's body. It just seems suspicious to me that they never found a body. Usually in shows like this, that either means she's not dead, or that the villain is possessing them/their body, and I'm personally betting on the latter.
>>
>>54867322
>God is retiring
What, did he just get sick of everyone's shit and decide "Fuck this, I'm done"?
>>
>>54867528
Right. I don't agree with nor appreciate the misrepresentation of the "new" Wishwater, but since I don't think it should be re-added to the jump like that anyway and in the interest of not helping fuel another thread-long argument, I'll just stop here.
>>
>>54867569
I dunno, her facial features don't really remind me of Ruby. I think it's more likely they killed Summer for being a "Silver eyed warrior". They kinda implied they have fought them before, what with insulting Cinder for losing to a "novice".
>>
>>54867587
>misrepresentation
hah. Just ask CW what he thinks the limits are. And if he answers, see if he's willing to put those limits in.

I bet you he won't.
>>
>>54867403
> Why does absorption still have the meta canon companion line?
To be honest, I just hadn't thought of it as being that meta until you pointed it out, (the whole thing about technically being the thing you devoured was the bit that was standing out to me about the concept, so I was missing the point that the statement was also meta as fuck) but I do see your point. I'll take that bit out in the next update.

> That perk also needs a price boost since it's way more appealing then most of the other stuff.
Fair enough. I was judging 1000CP with no discounts as generally the range for the really big stuff, but I can see "Hey, you need drawbacks if you even want to think about taking this" as a reasonable cost as well.
>>
>>54867600

Yeah, pretty much. The current God is kind of a lazy drunken bum. Being God in that world is a position of authority, and it's noted that each holder of the office is allowed to select their successor via whatever rules they choose. The current God apparently just had the position forced on him when the previous God got sick of it.

Is it just me or is Stellaris no longer in the Drive?
>>
>>54867761
Maybe write an actual paragraph? To me the minimum writing for a perk is five sentences unless it's super simple. A suggestion.

>Weapon Projection (200CP, Discount for Drop-In): A rare ability among the living, you have attained the mystical power to create energy projections in the form of nails that you may launch at your foes, or even create spears surging forth from the ground beneath your foes feet in an attempt to skewer them. Stay out of range and switch up you attack patterns and you will be a difficult foe, however this ability lacks effectiveness when your opponent is directly in your face. Quick wit and tactics are your ally.

Basically adjusting it to be fluffier, like a moth.

This is the most un-rad thing I have ever seen.
And I won't have any of it.

> "You're going to the Cloud? That's TUBULAR! I'm going with you!"
So. I followed Gene and his little girlfriend ("Aw... a forced love arc!" "What? No!") to Drop Box. We met in the Jailbreak App, there was a brief series of character motivations, and then I followed them.
> "Oh me? I just love stories~! The Cloud's got them, I ~want~ them, so that's where I'm going!"

It might have been easier, faster, if I'd gone on my own. But, y'know... I feel like it's important to establish yourself in these situations. You can't just do things unannounced. You have to build a rapport.
So there was A Journey, some puns about Hi-5 pushing my buttons, a dance break, and then... we made it.
But at the last second, Gene had to pull back for the second act, whereas I...

Didn't.

Once you're in Drop Box, you can get to the Cloud -- that is, the internet. There's a firewall protecting it, but it's not any trouble for an experienced jumper. And once you're in the Cloud, you have access to... everything.

Once there it was a relatively simple matter to reprogram my appearance a bit with an online paint program. Nothing too overt, just a nice body to go along with my oversized "head".
And then, I took control of...
Every. Cellphone.

And after that it was a very easy matter to take control of every cellphone USER as well.
> "This is my story now~"

At that point, I had already won.
However, per the chosen jump options, there was still one thing I had to do to truly, TRULY win. So, even though it was a very small thing to me now, I turned my attention back on MY Textopolis.

It took me awhile, but I finally realized who Smiler reminded me of. It was another tenacious little administrative sprite from all the way back in Kid Radd. Her name was Crystal, and she took over an entire city of sprites that she ruled with complete impunity!
When I told Smiler this, she actually thanked me!
Then I told her I HATED Crystal.
To which Smiler replied, "Oh."

... And then Smiler didn't exist anymore.

> "You expected the villain to be Smiler? TOO BAD! IT WAS ME, KONATA!"
Rewriting of the obsolete emoji scanning system began IMMEDIATELY, in dramatic fashion. Textopolis was essentially the prototype for all future alterations of phone systems from the Cloud. Had to uproot a lot of code. You think it's just ones and zeroes, but on the digital side it's more like tearing up the landscape and turning it into different kinds of landscape. You ever play Portal 2, when Glados is rebuilding Aperture? It's sortof like that, but a city. And not confined to normal physics.
> "Were you expecting a vapid tale of expressing yourself? TWIST ENDING!"
Of course Gene tried to stop me. I was actually pretty impressed the way he and his little princess jumped between floating bits of architecture to try and reach me in the sky. And in retrospect, it would've made a decent story if they'd won.
I mean. Decent.
Not great.
But.

> "Listen, you annoying little malbyte. I know this isn't going to make sense to you, but I'm spec'd so high in technologic and digital world powerups that I'm basically a GOD here."
I'd like to tell you that Gene put up a decent fight. That it was really climactic and cool, and maybe we all learned a lesson about something, and it was a really fun and interesting experience at the end. You know.
Like stories are meant to have.
I'd like to tell you that.
But.

> "I really don't know what you were expecting."
I guess it wasn't a very good story after all.

Why do you need to spend points to keep soul? Is it not something everyone has?

Worship the Fluff's last line makes it seem too good, I think you should remove it. It's just 100 points and that last bit denotes a lot better.

>Weapon projection
Echo, I know you had the same problem with Yakuza, but when people suggest things that are a problem with the jump as a whole, it's best to at least try correcting it over the whole instead of just taking whatever people do for you.

>Rage of Eternities
Could be clearer. Separate the fluff and have it be clearer mechanically in the second part.

>Basic Nailmanship
This is extremely boring and having a master version as the capstone for a different origin makes it even worse. It's not appealing at all and feels lazy, so I'd suggest just making this a part of the background and finding another 100.

Power Tactics
How good is the learning boost? There's not even a vague indicator.

>Hollow Reprisal
How strong is this? Is there any limit to it's power? For having such a nasty potential drawback, I'd really like to know a lot more about the definite benefits.

>Great Nailsage
Like the other nail perk, kinda lazy and the tacking on of two effects unrelated to the rest at the end only solidifes that view. Still, it's better to keep this one.

> the one time Konata's jumper stops being a lazy layabout
Just for the sake of saving everyone the trip, I'm gonna copy/paste the one perk that's spoilered in the second post's setup:
> Whatever It Takes (100CP) (Free: America): When you see a goal, you naturally crave it. To crave is to accept that you have desires that need to be filled, like a predator that seeks to fill their belly. When pursuing a goal you have eerie dedication to it, and won't let petty things like morality or uncertainty get in your way. You can toggle this as needed... but why would you if your prize is within reach? You WILL bring 'democracy' to the world, and it's non-negotiable.
Basically, it gives you the power of absolute ruthlessness. Which, Sleuth Anon dug up a really good quote for about a month back, over here: >>54315976

I decided I wouldn't hold anything back. Even if I'd normally want to. I'm an emotional sort, I get swayed by sappy speeches and people genuinely trying to be heroes! And I decided that just wasn't going to happen this time.
I mean, do you have any idea how scary a jumper is with absolute ruthlessness?

>>54868300
Nah, the thing is, I didn't want to end on a self-congratulatory note with all this implied edge. So instead I took more of a "looking back on it" approach, which sortof kills the mood, but I think works for easing out of the narrative.

Plus, I was admittedly putting more work in my zingers up until the part where I had already won.

I'll look into it regardless. Thanks Elona.

>>54868372
>Black egg
You use gods a lot throughout this jump but with no real indication of what kind of gods or what level of power you're associating with those gods. Could you give some more detail on that somewhere in the jump since you use them as reference many times?

>king's brand
Restricted Areas? Does this count any sealed area or is it just allowing you to get into otherwise forbidden places? Does it unlock any door?

>Dream Nail
This seems less worth it then King's Brand so I'd suggest swapping them if they both work as their descriptions say.

>Pale ore
Some details on pale ore would be nice here.

>Canon Companion
I'm not quite sure but the description is so similar that I actually think you may have stolen this almost word for word from one of Val's jumps. I'll check first though. Awfully similar.

>Hollow Vessel
Why is this priced at 400? It doesn't seem more then 200 at most.

Canon Companion- 200
If there’s someone you’d like to bring along with you, a purchase of this option may be in order. Every time you buy this option, you’ll be given a chance to convince one this setting of your choice to come with you. If they accept, you’ll be able to bring along as a companion. You’ll need to purchase a separate time for each character you want to try bringing along but you’ll be guaranteed to meet them several times on good terms, which should help you out a bit.

Food Wars. The entire jump is dedicated to cooking, so it really isn't surprising, but the item section has three different items that each provide an unlimited amount of vegetables, sweets, and meats, respectively, and they're all of the highest quality.
>>
>>54868519
You do realize that has probably happened a lot of times before? Maybe some have the sentences in a different order, but there's only so many ways you can say 'you can buy the chance to convince someone to come along with you' before you find someone else said something similar in one of the 800+ jumps we have.
>>
>>54868519
To be fair, there is hundreds of jumps now and it isn't like there's many ways to word a generic canon companion select option.
>>
>>54868466
Also, Penny Dreadful and Van Helsing take place at the end of the Wild West, and Fallen London more in the middle. Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs is probably also a good choice, though I'm not sure exactly when that takes place. The Victorian Era and Wild West ran mostly parallel.

To self-promote a bit, CtL has the Lost In Time drawback that could place you in the Wild West if you want. Cowboy Fairies were probably a thing.

Fallout also has it's own little Western in New Vegas.

> Does Tokyo Ghoul have the best coffee?
Best tasting or most powerful? Either way, I wouldn't think so. Ghouls all drink their coffee black (because they can't digest the additives), and no mention is really given of it being from some exceptional bean or anything like that. It's just the only thing they can consume besides humans without puking and tastes pretty okay.

Anyway, if you're looking for strongest, I think Discworld's Klatchian Coffee could be a contender? It's powerful enough to make you the opposite of drunk, which is supposedly a state called "knurd" wherein instead of being all clouded up and disoriented as you would in drunkeness, you snap through into awareness of what true reality is like. It is apparently horrifying.

Thanks guys. I'm so grateful for the kind words. Don't worry, not leaving, still gonna be making stuff. Lots of new stuff actually. For some teasers- it turns out that being able to save web pages has sped up my work at uni by...something like ten times given I have a 5 origin, triple perkline Monogatari jump that just needs a few more items. And a Kakegurui jump that's around twice the size of a standard jump (Check this series out if you like gambling and cute girls). And a mostly complete Katanagatari jump (5 origins, double lines, requisite Deviant blade section) too. 4 hours work, just a shame it usually takes 2-3 days to fluff one.

>>54868807
While I do appreciate the thought, I find the single shitposter idea to be one of the most self harmful things in this community given how easy it is to use as a weapon against people that give critique that is not popular or is too rude/harsh. Besides, it's more entertaining to me personally to think that even a dozen different dedicated people couldn't bring this place down with years of effort than just one. Focuses more on the good people here being awesome than one twit being bad, y'know?
>>
>>54868949

>>54868627

>>
>>54868846
I have too. The problem I have is that both companion options are this way. The import option has three words changed from the Beatrice jump's import, and the fluff at the front cut off.

Both options being 90% or more similar to a very recent jump? From a guy who held a grudge against me for a few months? It's too much of a stretch for me. If it was just one, I'd be annoyed but I'd leave it. The entire section being so is what makes me unable to give it any leeway.

>>54868926
I find them a pointless community that adds little save drawing discussion away from the two main locations, requiring someone to either go there or miss out, especially egregious given there is jump discussion going on there as evidenced by Nika thanking them in their last jump. The fact that it is made by two shitposters, a guy with little to no presence on the IRC and merchant, only worsens this (to be fair, I have no issue with merchant besides the support for this idea, real G that guy for putting up with being the SB intercom back in the day). I've got no confidence in them as mods, certainly none in Echo as a mod given this and our past interactions. It's not exactly easy to think positively of a mostly separate community leeching discussion away run by someone you don't have confidence will give you a fair run if you do go there.

Yeah, that's true. And I get the idea that the single shitposter idea can be used to shitpost in its own right, but I do like using it nonetheless. Assuming it's wrong and there are multiple shitposters, it's a way to marginalize their efforts by condensing them down to one really incompetent guy.

>It's weird and fun. While the novels are good, Shaft's anime of the various series are fuckin incredible on a visual level. You could probably enjoy entire episodes with no sound or subtitles from how unique and weird it all is.
Yeah, that's one of the things I've heard about it, that the anime adaptation is really technically proficient and impressive.

>Fair warning though, it's weird. Really, really weird.
I've also heard this. It's about curses, right? But not about breaking them so much as coming to live with them and accept them as part of your life, I think? So it's this weird mix of gonzo horror and slice of life, is what I've gathered about it. And also some stuff about deconstructing relationship tropes in anime, like the tsundere archetype, and examining what they'd actually be like to deal with, or something like that? It sounds like a confusing but potentially really cool set of themes to deal with.

>>54869082

>>54869063
Partially agree. While her wish was definitely the worst thing, I find that the basic reasons she wanted it- desire for her kingdom to flourish due to believing she fucked it up and being willing to erase her actions and history to give them another chance- very admirable. It's not smart or wise or the best choice and it is stupid and short sighted and inconsiderate of others, but I think it's also the wish a king who genuinely cares about their kingdom would make instead of one that sees themselves as the kingdom. Partially why the Banquet of Kings is the one scene I think is a severe mar on Fate/Zero being otherwise fantastic, since it's just Gen bashing all night long on her
>>

Is it that bad? Not a massive fatefag but I thought she wants to Make Britain Great Again and didn't know about the evil goop in it and the fact that maguses are fundamentally incapable of not doing things in the most terrible way possible. Doesn't she blow the thing up in UBW once she's wise to it? But I don't see what's wrong with the wish itself.
>>
>>54869093
The problem with her wish is that it would remove King Arthur, the kingdom formed by King Arthur, and the "All are equal before the law" of said kingdom. Therefore it removes all legends attached to it - Such as every one of her knights (especially the commoners, who only became knights because she was king.)

The only way to preserve all of that is for her to wish her exact fate onto someone else.
>>
>>54869073
Only 8PM. Sides, I have writing to do.

>>54869083
Some of the fight scenes are fantastic and just...while some of the anime scenes can be said to be movie quality, once you get to see the movies you'll be blown away for sure. They're fuckin nuts.

It's more about just encountering and dealing with the supernatural in general, though curses do appear several times. The supernatural is generally referred to as oddities, being mostly spirits and supernatural creatures like vampires or zombies.

And there's a lot of subversion and playing with common anime tropes too, yeah. The relationships and romance is pretty complex for the series even if Senjougahara is best girl 4 life

>>54869093
She wants to erase all her actions from history because she believes she fucked it up and give Britain another chance that way. She doesn't realise how this is insulting to both her and all those who fought alongside her or served under her.

>It's a pointless community

While I can understand people getting mad by discussion driving away, you also have to understand that branch communities are to be expected if the main community keeps going for a long a time. People get mad at each other and want to keep doing what they like without having to share the same space. We have like six places discussing Jumpchain daily right now, and the community is only 3 years old.

And it's easier to get by in the Discord (at least for now), being fairly new with no feuds, and to keeptrack of it, than the IRC is.

>All this new jumps

>She doesn't realise how this is insulting to both her and all those who fought alongside her or served under her.
Also to every Englishman and Englishwoman for the past 1500 years (as well as, tangentially, everyone affected by them). The butterfly effect means that they will at best be radically different people and at worst be erased from existence entirely. So what she's saying is that every accomplishment her countrymen made since her death is all worthless and would be better if it never happened. Given how many very important things can be traced back to Britain in some way, that's pretty damn insulting.

I don't have internet at University, always fucks my computers over when I try and I don't trust their network anyway. >>54869152
As far as I think anyone in this main community should need to be concerned, places like SB or reddit don't count unless you need advance warning on when you're about to get screwed.

Given the Discord would be attracting old members, including certain more controversial people, I can't really agree with the idea that it'd have less of the history there. Or honestly, that that history even matters, given it's the thread where you're likely to get attacked for hitting a trip mine. In my experience, accidentally hitting upon a sensitive topic in the IRC is almost never received poorly unless you're already being a huge dick anyway, in which case...people were already treating you as a dick anyway.

That said, I won't hold it against individual people for going there, wouldn't be fair. Would frustrate me but you know, people's choice. They didn't make it and they might not know the problems with it either.

So, the lore around the game is extremely vague. From what I remember, the Radiance created all bugs for...some reason, and then just flew around, doing whatever a mutated moth god-thing does when it has nothing else to do. Then the Wyrm reincarnated into the Pale King, imprisoned the Radiance, and began its kingdom over the bugs.

> With perks like that, it almost sounds like one of those "This sentence is false" logic paradoxes people use to mess with evil AIs.
I mean, that's a big part of why I usually have those perks toggled off. Especially THAT perk. I've got that one behind two different toggle barriers, one of which itself is toggled off, meaning that I can't change the toggle settings until I retoggle my toggle.

Ruthlessness is not a toy! If I did away with all my regrets and shaky morals, I... well.
Those are basically the only things holding me back.
That and sloth. Which I ALSO have perks to counteract, should I want them to.

And once all that happens, we start getting into Rick'n'Morty levels of anticlimax.

> ... I wonder what would happen if you ever deliberately set out to be, for whatever reason, as lazy as possible?
I dunno, but, as a reward for my in-emoji purchases and complete ruthlessness, I now have a phone with a miniature-potentially-infinite world inside it that freezes time while I visit it.
I could potentially spend eons in that thing doing FUCK ALL, with a city filled with (traumatized) emojis and whatever apps I downloaded onto that thing.

I bet I could get pretty lazy if the in-jump time limits weren't spurring me to do things. You know how it is, gotta take advantage of each new physics or magic system or plot contrivance or whatever.
>>
>>54869195
That's not what I was thinking of, but also a very good point. Britain was a very powerful country, because of the legacy she left. But I was thinking more in terms of all the advancements for humanity that Britain is responsible for. Steam engines, vaccination, the Bessemer process, the fundamental theory of electromagnetism, the fundamental theory of universal computation, artificial plastics, antibiotics...we owe the world we live in to the British, no modern advancement would be possible without them. And yes, many of those things they are responsible for have had negative effects, but I think the positive ones outweigh them, on the whole. Quality of life is certainly much higher for the average human being because of all those things. But hey, we're just peasants, right? Not big dramatic nobles with their quests and adventures and age of glory. It doesn't matter if she erases all the things that make our lives possible, it's worth it to have Camelot not fall.

Also before I forget, if you're an Aristoteles with Feathers of God, you have Synchronisation from Sekai Oni and you persuade a willing planet/star to fuse with you through it, does anything weird other than the obvious happen? Or if you fuse with your native one? And does your crystal valley-equivalent spread with the effect too? Mainly asking because the idea reminded me of old Brunestud and Gaia's pact.

And if you use Standing Tall (Jorge) or No Mere Machine (Nier: Automata) to evolve while in that state, could the planet keep some of those mutations?

Metamorphosis – 600cp, Xenomorph (Xenomorph Only)
The facehugger is the smallest of the Xenomorph’s life cycles, but is perhaps the most feared for its singular purpose. You gain a facehugger altform, and when you use this form to infect someone with a Xenomorph embryo, you are transferred to the embryo, and the shell of the facehugger dies in the transferal process.
You will then gestate inside the host – the exact gestation period is roughly a half-day, but varies considerably – until you mature as a chestburster, and erupt through the chest of your victim.
During the gestation period, you are more or less helpless, but will acquire a number of biological traits of the host to serve you well as an adult drone.
As your chestburster form matures over the course of another day, you will finally become an adult Xenomorph drone, a hybrid, combining the various traits of Xenomorphs and the host’s species, which becomes a new altform for you.
You might find your new drone form has acquired tremendous strength after gestating within a particularly strong host, or has acquired unusual new mutations like wings or venom, or a genetic memory or hunting instincts if those traits were coded into the DNA of your host.

If it was your body and you then cease to be part of it, yeah, it'd keep that stuff. That said, if you're using Synchro, it's not going to go awfully well for the mind of what you're fusing with.

Personally, I don't want the Types to show up in GO. I find the Beasts far more interesting opponents and characters. They've got a lot more relation to the current story too and the Types showing up would either steal the show completely or fall flat and do disservice to themselves.

That said, Velber is kinda dumb. I kinda like it...but it's kinda dumb.

Depends on the velocity. Anti-tank shaped charges shoot lances of vaporized metal, and they penetrate just fine because of how fast they go. You don't even need to condense the metal down to a liquid state, if your powers can keep the jet coherent over range.

Good to know and thanks again, might have something to mitigate it for come whenever Extella may but it'll be from somewhere else.

I look at it from the other angle, I think it could be a nice Dr. Who-style callback while showing how Fate's themes have moved on? Like that saturday morning cartoon episode where the heroes have to go set right the postapocalyptic future. I think Types could work as special event adventure to a low-Anthropic Principle world, and as opponents they're still devastating enough to have a good multi-Servant brawl with highenders who aren't Solomon. As for interesting, I think it might be neat if with enough Servant shenanigans the other Types could follow V/V's example-except maybe we could see different points of view on humanity. Maybe even some comments on what life's like on other planets.

But mainly I remember Types fondly because the Velber just seem like woefully underinformed, knockof Reapers.

Problem I find is that they're too strong. Only the strongest servants would have a chance against even the weaker Types, so it really would just devolve to the highest level guys fighting them, which circles back around to making the main plot foes seem a bit lack lustre in threat. ORT is equal with one of the Beasts in danger level and the others are shattering continents or worse. Tiamat took...well, all of what she took to be killed and the Types are beefier still.

That and they're...well, pretty obscure honestly. CM only comes up a few times outside of Melty and mostly cause of Arc who is far better known, ORT got like...a couple offhand mentions years ago and V/V had a second long cameo in Carnival. There's not exactly much funny stuff you can do with any of them without making entirely new stuff up.

They've pretty much got similar abilities and at least as much raw power, if not a whole lot more. Ado Edem's blade had a similar truth effect to Ea but it is a lot bigger. It eats large parts of the earth to create a blade large enough to split the sky and then he swings it with enough strength to outmatch the damage Ea does normally with a punch anyway.

At the very worst, they're around a similar level of power while having about 8 of them at once, roughly as strong or stronger then that.

As of Prometheus and Covenant, we...have less than no explainations. Because Ridely Scott is basically pulling a Lucas and throwing whatever he thinks is cool at the wall no matter how dumb it is.

We have really cringy faux-Jesus symbolism starring Michael Fassbender, a black goo bioweapon that does everything from making rhino-sized giant Facehuggers to melting an entire city to making albino, slightly lankier aliens that are objectively more terrifying than the black ones. Because they chestbust with inhalable spores, instead of shootable headhumpers.

Apparently the people who made the bioweapon an evil android with daddy issues later started tinkering with have some sort of death cult. Except they also sacrificed one of themselves to make life on Earth. Which may or may not have been intentional.

The only thing we know for certain, is that humans in this universe have absolutely no survival instincts and are universally crap under pressure.

Look, I took a look at the Disney genie, and all it says in regard to its power is that it's "not omnipotent, but are relatively powerful." I thought that if I added in practically the same wording for mine to accompany my parallel restrictions, it would demonstrate that it and the genie are about on the same level. And I haven't even gotten around to posting that version yet, so hold off until you actually see it, okay?

Except with Disney, we can see the level of power in canon. With you, you refuse to just say it's limited to the top level shown, which would make it exactly like Disney, because you want more out of it.

What's wrong with limiting it to it's in canon uses, when that's effectively what the disney one has been? Because if you're still going with the view that yours can go way beyond that one canon feat, it is not at all equal to the genie.
>>
>>54870364
>Reasonable
No, you're not. Really. You've had arguments totally refuted and then turned around and used those same arguments again. You've told people that other things are just as broken exist but with no examples. You've argued for hours which you admit was too stubborn, only to turn around and almost completely renege on what you were convinced to do after all that.

This is not the actions of a reasonable person. It is the actions of a guy who wants this item to be a certain way and is searching for a way to justify it despite it being too much. You've had your head filled with so much propaganda by Brellin, Record and the others that you completely ignore how totally unbalanced this item is, with the rest of your jump and with the rest of the chain as a whole.
>>
>>54870367
Yes, it was a second Engineer who was Jesus. The Engineers were okay with humans until two thousand years ago, we're told. What could have happened two thousand years ago that would get them angry with us? Maybe crucifying one of them that came to Earth to spread a message of peace? Like I said, that plot point is cut from the finished movie, but there's still a lot of symbolism in the film that implies it. I remember I saw a pretty good analysis of it a while back, let me see if I can find it.
>>
>>54870355
>>54870364
Well, what would you say the upper limits are then? Because if you're just leaving it at relatively powerful, doesn't that result in the same problems you originally defended the option with by making it way too vague as to what the actual limits are? The power limit might not have been an easy defined limit, which is more an issue with the type of power this is, but it was at least a defined one at all.

Also, as an aside, you really need to increase the price a lot if this is going to remain a reusable thing. There's not much reason to go for anything else in the jump, even with the power limit on.
>>
>>54870376
This whole time, I've wanted Wisheater and Genie to be at equivalent levels, as Brellin suggested, but I didn't want to get too meta and refer to something from a different jump. So I thought that if I used wording similar to the genie's, people would figure things out and know they're on about the same level. After all, looking at the two without knowledge of either' canon, and they'd look pretty alike.
>>
>>54870416
The upper limits for Genie aren't given either.

>>54870311
I don't recall the flute being used for more than his conversations/yaoi fanfic with the newer model.
Also, it was taming it like a horse.
For further info, if it wasn't brought up already, Ridley pulled the same thing with Covenant as in where he pulled scenes that would have given more lore and answers like with Prometheus. Which, as a person who was kinda okay with the movies (though I really don't like the implications with David and the Xenomorph origins) this really pisses me off.

Okay not him but hold the phone for a second-you want this thing from a completely unrelated IP, to be exactly equal to something from Disney, just because you think "Genie" is an acceptable powerlevel, despite not having justified why you think there is a good basis to assume the wish water from your setting can do things Genie can.

Do you not see the breaks on logic on this train of thought? I've been saying this over and over again, but I think you need to go back to the start and explain why you think wishes so grand are a thing that can happen here. If you DON'T have a good reason to think that, you should just leave the moon thing that happened in canon as a BENCHMARK for the kind of wishes it can do so people can make a staircase of unicorns or a sparkly rainbow rocketship or whatever, instead of turning the entire universe into antimatter.

Well, here's the actual jump with the changed version of the Wishwater, so please refer to that for your comments.

As you can see, I stated that the water is not omnipotent, I included the same array of limits that the Disney Genie had (along with meta restrictions that the Genie description never had), and I included an example of a wish (again, something the Disney Genie never had in its description). Therefore, I feel that I have satisfactorily, at least by the standards allowed for the Disney Princess jump, outlined a reasonable set of limits for the item.

Honestly, I'm not sure the genie's even that powerful (though I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, considering he did turn Jafar into another genie).

After all, even besides the hard limits of no killing, no love, and no resurrection... he's not even capable of making Alladin into an actual prince. He just gives him a convincing-enough facade, without actually giving him a princedom, knowledge on how to act like a prince, or any kind of legitimate prince-ness.

The genie seems best at transmuting things. Alladin's entourage from his monkey and various pests, his clothes into princely clothes, Jafar into a better wizard and a genie... He even had to grow huge and manually pick up and move the city when Jafar wished to move it, instead of just teleporting it.

Or you could just have supernatural poop. If you eat some supernatural stuff, there's going to be trace amounts of magic in your feces, just like there's usable nutrients in your feces after eating normal food. So don't rules lawyer, just get magic shit.
>>
>>54870738
It's more than I get sort of offended when people insult me and denigrate my intentions, so I try to stand my ground.

I take great pride in making my jumps as good as they can be, so I do my best on each perk and item. Therefore, when someone argues against part of the jump and I find reasons to think that they are not entirely right in their anger, I will defend the piece of my jump and work to improve it.

I really would rather get on to discussing other elements of my jump, but i won't simply give in on the Wishwater, as while some of the arguments against it have had reasonable points, I feel that I have found a decent compromise that should work given the precedent of past jumps.

Not only that, but Jafar could undo the wish when he was still just "the most powerful sorcerer in the world".

Though it's worth noting that Aladdin's genie is not particularly smart nor creative. He never does the "be careful what you wish for" routine, he gets tricked into giving a free wish, he doesn't even realize the implications of turning Jafar into a genie.
>>
>>54870809
I've asked you several times what you think the wish thing is based on, and you haven't answered. Standing your ground doesn't help your case when it seems like you're deliberately obfuscating the facts of the setting.

A lot of people are ignorant about lactose intolerance. It's not an allergy, and it's not going to kill you. Milk just might upset your stomach or give you diarrhea if you have too much. For the vast majority of people, a little bit of milk is fine. The sort of people that get violently ill from a glass of milk are exceedingly rare.

For example, the Japanese drink milk at half the rate of Europeans, despite them being lactose intolerant. That's a fuck ton of milk still, yet everyone is completely fine, because the vast, vast majority of them don't have the 'violently ill' reaction.
>>
>>54870794
Well, they have a whole division of "Eggheads" in the capital city working on P2C2Es, essentially a whole team/school of scientists.

P2C2Es are the source of a lot of different things in the jump, from how Story Water is exported to taps on Earth; to how Kahani orbits Earth at the speed of light (to stay invisible) and constantly shift orbit to cover every bit of the globe while keeping a single side in permanent sunshine; to the ability to manufacture happy endings.

I haven't really looked at the SCP jump (I'm trying to find it right now), but yeah, it's basically dream logic reality warping engineering.
>>
>>54870809
Look, privacy-kun, if you're that thin skinned and easily baited, this is not the place for you. It's just that simple. As to the Wishwater bit, people have objected to it again and again but you always find a way to dismiss if not outright ignore their suggestions and criticisms. That stands in direct contradiction to your whole willing to listen and engage shtick.

As for taking pride in your work? How many hours of shitstorming and bile have you caused with this one offering? How the fuck can you seriously say that you're committed to making a good product when your product has contributed nothing so far but needless drama. I'm sorry, but you're either not being honest with yourself or you're not being honest with the thread.

If you really want to be taken seriously, offer an olive branch and do what you said you'd do: lock it behind the Spark. If you will not do that, then it's clear that this whole exercise has been about you getting what you want and seeking sanction for it. If you want an I Win button for your chain: fine. Leave us out of your wank.

Heck, a pretty large amount of the human populace is lactose intolerant, and they still consume milk. Like you said, all of Japan is, and they're far from the only country to have that as a universal trait. Lactose tolerance is believed to only have become widespread in the gene pool around the time agriculture was discovered, because with livestock it suddenly offered an advantage.

Huh. That's. Okay, I'm deeply surprised nobody else seems phased by it but. Isn't it much, much, much more powerful than the other capstones combined? I hardly see how telling stories or making everything boring can compare to making a moon go faster than light.

Which brings me to this question. Are we talking literal happy endings, or written ones? And if that's the case, does that mean the drop-in/bad guy mcbadfeels capstone can actually affect reality somewhat as well as the written word?

>Which brings me to this question. Are we talking literal happy endings, or written ones? And if that's the case, does that mean the drop-in/bad guy mcbadfeels capstone can actually affect reality somewhat as well as the written word?
See the Happy Ending item. From the narrative of the book, it's not something they can easily make, so while you could feasibly make some with enough research and resources, it's not something you could do instantly (maybe that's something I should state for the perk as a whole). Also, its effectiveness kind of depends on the timing; if you used it in the middle of the story instead of at the climax, things would be happy for some time but other things would remain unresolved.

The always-stronger-than-you thing is just the innate ability of a Type towards other lifeforms on it's own planet. You are the gold digger and the planet is your sugar daddy powering you one step above your opponent's innate powerlevel. Which sucks if you're fighting Gilgamesh since Gaia doesn't think to make you stronger than the Noble Phantasms he's pelting you with.

Anyway, as for the rest-energy crosses that can cause earthquakes, a tens of kilometers tall mass of black photon gas emitted by a core, blood that can become a temporary forcefield around a planet against other Types (I'm not sure how much of that was what the Sisters did with their True Magic before they died, but it's definitely made of Type blood at least) and turning everything around you into crystal just by moving. Think Evangelion angels, if they managed to succesfully fuse with Lilith and become a force that could remake the world.

The one we know most about is the Type of the Moon (yep, that's where the franchise name hails from), Crimson Moon Brunestud. He had Mystic Eyes that can "crush reality", the power to fling a projection of the moon at someone (think what Emiya does, if he traced planets instead of swords and his blade works wasn't unlimited. Er, probably), a Knight Liner of his own called Real of the World with the conceptual property to restore the world to it's natural state and a power called Alt Nagai which lets him create a tornado that reaches to the top of the sky. Oh, and the True Ancestors-humanoid fairies that can use Marble Phantasms? They were created from him making a pact with Gaia to use him as inspiration for creating self defence lifeforms-and later as a backup body drive. They've an innate power called Marble Phantasm, which controls probability so precisely they can do things like raise castles mystically attuned to the moon from dust or turn wind into cutting blades.
>>
>>54871053
Wonder if there are any options other than that one Worm power you could use to emulate the Mask, or how you could make your own...
>>
>>54871017
Okay, but my main questions still stand. Are they literal, happening to real people endings or some sort of magic story? And in that case isn't P2C2E much more powerful than the other capstones, especially if Drop-In is just mundane storytelling?
>>
Sonnuvabitch, I hate making typos when I'm typing out something really long, and trying to simultaneous remember and articulate weird trivia
>>
>>54871129
Well, the Drop-In one is more than simply storytelling, as it allows you to make connections between your audience's experiences in the story and thereby drive them toward certain objectives. Plus, it has the bonus of helping you remember all of your experiences in dream worlds.

For the Happy Endings, it affects real people (or at least, it affects the people in the "real world" of the book's story). Keep in mind that the Happy Ending isn't something you can control, as it will determine on its own the best way to fulfill a "happy ending"; I'll try to make that clearer.

I'm also planning to limit P2C2E by saying that its use functions in the same way that scientific research works in the real world. The Manhattan Project wasn't something that appeared out of thin air, after all, so you need to put sufficient amounts of research and resources into a P2C2E project to make a workable product. Add in that you can't explain the processes to anyone, though you can supervise, and it's something that could never be applied on an industrial scale.

>>
>>54871210
Okay, and forgive me if I'm missing something here, but it still seems immensely insignificant to a field of pseudo-science that can make a freaking moon go lightspeed, in a regular orbit, or creating tangible happy endings in reality.

I don't think you've quite grasped how far the gulf between the two capstones is. No amount of storytelling is going to equal the Manhattan Project, let alone something that makes it look like cavemen banging rocks together with what sounds like wishful thinking.

I know this sounds counterintuitive after the other argument but, it sounds like you should either rethink the Drop-In capstone or buff it.

I had a couple more thoughts on my When the Mountain Meets the Sea capstone for Drop-In.

First, since the theme behind the perk is how real life and stories intersect with each other, so perhaps the perk could have something about pulling the two worlds closer together, so that story worlds are more accessible from the real world and that the story worlds are more influenced by people and events in the real world (parallel characters, etc.)?

The second thought I had was that the capstone could enhance some of the perks lower down the line for Drop-In. For instance, if you took Story Sea Subscriber you could now share a degree of your storytelling tap with other people, and if you took Story Knowledge you would have an encyclopedic knowledge of your own story and be able to quickly remember pertinent info you've gathered from your past experiences. I'm not sure what I'd do to enhance Dream Catcher or Will of the Dreamer, though.

I'm still trying to figure out how to improve the capstone, so any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

>How powerful can magic be in this setting?
Well, for the most part it's limited to what you see in the game mechanics. Throwing around fireballs, creating localized ice storms, that kind of thing. It's implied in several places that the reason magic doesn't have much of a broader use than this is due to the Source Hunters being a little too zealous in their hunting down of Sourcerers.

So, outside of several rituals and a few magi-tech creations that Arhu REALLY SHOULDN'T BE CREATING, you don't see much in the way of utility magic. That said, I did go out of my way to clarify that there are more uses to the magic system than we see in common use. Because this is the same world that 9000 years ago used magi-tech everything to wage a world war with golems and tanks and airships.

Even if a lot of that was based around demon technology and was destroyed for A REASON ARHU!

>Quadratic Wizards, Linear Warriors
Both end up mostly on the same playing field. Man-At-Arms, Expert Marksman, and Scoundrel are all technically martial abilities, but most of them are basically magic in another form. So you'll see experienced warriors and wizards taking each other down based more on the situation at hand than any true different in raw power.

Hell, Archers and their bag of trick arrows can usually fuck up wizards pretty easily.

I hope this is suitably clear.

>This reminds me of the time Lanfear from Wheel of Time wished to be as powerful as the most powerful lady mage in the world, but she was already more powerful than any lady mage in the world so the fairy just drank a lot of her powers.

If you like turn-based tactical RPGs, buy the enhanced edition and enjoy. It's a really lovely game.

And there's nothing wrong with being a bit of a brute. Man-At-Arms and Scoundrel get some really nifty stuff. Like the ability to give yourself Haste for practically free and force an opponent to take any damage you do.
