After a year of hiatus, my friend want to try another Pathfinder campaign, starting with one-shotted to get us back on our feet.

By simply including in your backstory that you were inspired by a martyr, you can technically start play with a free +2 to a stat of your choice without any resource expenditure - after all, you don't even have to have the feat.

I probably got a ton of characterization details wrong, but fuck it. I wanted to do this with SOMEONE'S campaign, and Ven Vinder as the captain was too obvious.

Is the sentiment that getting skills and feats and stuff is completely irrelevant and anything I ever aspire to do or be as normal class will be completely overshadowed and fucked by fullcasters true? I've never played pathfinder or 3.5 beyond 7th level and I don't know if I want to join a long running pathfinder campaign if I absolutely have to play a full caster or some sort of meme build in order to be relevant in the party.

I feel like if I'm a bard or something I should be able to roll a diplomacy check and be helpful and not be replaced by some wizard casting a 6th level spell of diplomacy.

In a typical party, things are pretty balanced actually. The issues mostly rise up in optimization, where casters become ABSURDLY better than others, due to utility.

For example, no amount of damage a rogue could ever put out would be able to compete with the fact that a wizard can just cast sleep on the enemy and coup-de-grace them.

But that isn't exactly "fun" gameplay. If you are playing with your friends, and most of you are the same level of experience, you will find everything work out fairly well because, generally speaking, people don't like being total fucking assholes around their friends.

How do I play a 17 year old human bard that's female with a statblock of pic related without being creepy? I want to play a dainty princess-like bard that's almost magically attractive but it feels weird. I'm trying to push my comfort zone. I mean I trust my group to take it seriously so I'm not super worried, I just have only vague notions of how the character might act in certain situations. I haven't decided on alignment yet but I've considered multiple types/personalities.

What does mean physical beauty? I mean charisma being physical beauty, probably taking traits associated with it and choosing dance/piano as performances. I don't know how you point it out enough that its a distinctive part of the character but not point it out enough to be annoying. The reason charisma is used is because of an older interpretation of charisma, where being charismatic is just a secondary effect of a fundamentally more powerful soul.

Augmentation is a thing, with multiple body slots they can go into. They mention a few times that one of the devs favorite ones is a Dragonbreath mod you can implant in your throat. Cyborg limbs are an option in this as well, yes.
