So, I just talked to an unironic caster supremacist who only ever plays 9-casters in Pathfinder and who has a copy of the Starfinder CRB.
According to him, Starfinder 6-casting is stronger overall than Pathfinder 9-casting and easier to abuse.
Also according to him, a level 20 Technomancer can have up to 241 CR 20 undead under his command, utterly invalidating anything that even remotely looks like a martial.
How do you feel about Starfinder now, /pfg/?

Once again, it depends on the campaign. If there's sex, cool. If there isn't, then there's no point in sharing that information, and doing so is likely to decrease your likelihood of getting in, since it may be read as you attempting to force a tone the GM doesn't want. I don't know what the GM wants, which is why I asked them to put something in the listing regarding that.

I have to admit, I really want to see what they're doing with power armor. I've heard conflicting reports on what it's supposed to be (a vehicle, basically, versus a suit of strength enhancing armor) and at this point I want to know who was right.

Given that the Armor Storm specialization for soldiers is the one that appealed to me most (with sharpshoot being a close second), this is kind of important to me.

The shirren and the vesk are the two that bother me a lot. They had an opportunity to find something interesting to do with alien biology or weird cultures, but instead they're even closer to humans than the lashunta are. I understand that the vesk are, like the lashunta, representing a staple race, but the shirren are the biggest disappointment to me in the way they're presented.

I like a lot of the ideas, "former hive mind", "option junkie". Rather than change them I wish they'd emphasized the oddities of the race that contrast them with the others.

It's really the presentation that I hate. There's interesting stuff hinted at but all the emphasis is on how traditionally human their behaviour is, they're "mega-humans" and they're supposed to be really into individualism within a group. Focusing on either aspect could turn out some good characters but for a species it muddles the concepts and gives them the same range a vanilla human has.

If Shirren turn out OCD scavengers or rational priests I'll be happy but right now they look so... bland for a bug race.
