When exactly did the left and right change places on freedom?

I'm old enough (33) to remember when it was the right that was pro censorship (panics re: 'violent' music and video games, obscene art, etc.), divisive (and often supremacist) about race and culture, against *equal* treatment of religious and gender minorities... Conversely, it was the left that was 'liberal' (in the classical sense) on social issues, wanting to treat everyone as equal individuals with the liberty to do, say, and think what they wanted.

Somewhere along the line, although I didn't register it happening at the time, this has totally reversed. Now it's the right that aims to be colour/culture/gender blind, while it's the left that's totally obsessed with difference. It's the left now that threatens freedom of expression, and which is constantly in a moral panic about something or other calling for censorship, while the right has become broadly libertarian on social issues.

It also occurs to me that the left used to champion a muscular expansion of western values and rights around the world: human rights, rights for women and minorities, democracy, etc. and the right that had more respect for local cultural mores. This of course has totally reversed too.

In the typical western society, if we square the edges to make it look more reasonable and conduct the following argument, there are two groups of people: Those who do not question politics, or very little, and those who question politics, and take a militant approach to tackle what they see as problems.

Within this politicized group, you have left and right. However, this isn't the left or the right of those who are apathetic to politics and who hold a watered-down version of what the militant groups do.

Militants aren't "conservative", they're alt or fascists, etc. Militants aren't simply "liberals", they're marxists, afro-feminists, etc...

In the 21st century, the political axis of popular culture, and thus politics which has become very populistic, is tilted left. But beyond politicians, there is a darker force at work. Some call it Jews, I personally go for the liberal elite, but this ain't the topic.

The thing is that we, on the far-right aisle of the spectrum (Yeah I know there's a world between a libertarian and a NatSoc but bear with me) are trying to struggle, from our meek computers, against those forces; while popular culture remains mostly tilted to the left.

On the other hand, there are the militant leftists. They aid the darker powers in place, and perhaps unbeknownst to their souls or guided by their subconscious because they want to avoid OUR pain, they find a way to feel good about themselves.

TLDR: SJWs have found a way to feel extremely good and self-satisified about destroying our European nations, perhaps because they didn't want to suffer the longing and sadness that our impossible fight against the Zionist elites entails.

By refusing to fight an impossible fight, SJWs have unconsciously embraced darkness as a way to feel very good and fulfilled just as they witness the implacable demise of our world by the elites/Jews/Zionists in power.
