So, now that we've established that Steve Albini makes pop music
Does he make good pop music or bad pop music?
>>74383194
lol
he looks like the "virgin walk" guy
...who is the chad of noise rock?
>babby's very first "noise" rock
Bad.
>>74383194
I like him. I like his music. Big Black is great. Rapeman is great. Shellac is great.
Why do music reviewing websites keep ignoring him despite his relevance and importance in the metal scene?
>Pitchfork
never reviewed any devin townsend albums
>Fantano
never reviewed any devin townsend albums
>Metacritic
Only his latest album, Transcendence, appears on the website (and it's not even one of his best albums). the rest of his discography is nowhere to be found on metacritic despite making many albums that are incredibly important to the metal scene such as City, Alien, Ocean Machine and Terria
Wtf???
Because nu-males do not care about prog or metal, same why they ignore seven Wilson
>tfw going to see Devy in a week
Personally I don't think he's hugely relevant to the metal scene as a whole, his work has more of a cult following than anything.
He does get a bit of attention outside of metal circles but I'm surprised he doesn't get more considering the stylistic scope of his music.
>>74383187
Nah anon that's not the reason. there are other metal artists that get much more attention in music reviewing websites.
(I also don't like calling people "nu males", it's a dumb term)
Help and recommendations would be appreciated.

Start at the top and work your way down:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_classical_music_composers_by_era
Rachmaninoff (piano concertos)
Chopin (piano concertos, solo piano works)
Tchaikovsky (piano concertos, ballets)
Dvorak (symphonies 7, 8, 9, piano trio, string quartets if you like those)
Vivaldi (l'estro armonico)
Bach (Cello suites, goldberg variations, brandenburg concertos)
Prokofiev (piano sonatas)
Shostakovich (quartest and quintets)
I'm a complete noob myself in this area, this is all entry level but I enjoy it.
beethoven piano sonatas

disc jockey is first recorded in print in 1941 in an american magazine although it is believed to be used even earlier. Record jockey is older than that. Seems unlikely he can be considered first, also the two turntables claim is disputed.
>>74382819
Theres this, but not twin turntables.
>On December 24 1906, in a wooden shack crammed with equipment in the seaside Massachusetts community of Brant Rock, a 40-year-old inventor named Reginald Fessenden made the world’s first radio broadcast. The program consisted of a phonograph recording of a Handel piece followed by Fessenden playing “O, Holy Night” on the violin, reading from the Bible, and wishing his listeners (mostly crewmen on United Fruit Company ships, which had been equipped with his apparatus) a merry Christmas.
