I wouldn't say they have the best episodes, it's pretty much always extremely predictable and we rarely get to see one of them without the other two, and in a 22 minute show the more characters an episode focuses on the less development the characters actually have. That being said I do love the CMC, I don't look forward to their episodes usually but they are the most lovable characters.

I can't think of any characters who get better episodes over them besides maybe glimmer. Their group dynamic just seems so much more natural than the mane 6s does and even if some of their episodes are otherwise weak, like some pony to watch over me or appelosas most wanted, their interactions with each other are so good that it makes up for this.

The only genuinely bad modern CMC episode I can think of is carts before the ponies.

Zootopia was a Disney movie, with a huge advertising budget, a good release date and one of the best marketing teams in the business.
The MLP movie has almost no advertising, a lousy release date (kids are in school) and a marketing department inexperienced at pushing this kind of movie.

Those of us who are predicting doom aren't saying anything about the quality of the movie...we're pointing out poor conditions for it in the cinema market.

What does it matter anyway? Do you have stock in Hasbro? If it crashes and burns in theaters you'll be able to buy a DVD sooner.

Zootopia's budget was 150 million. This one is ~40 mil, is 2D (so much cheaper) and is a world known property among its target and non-target audience. You don't need to advertise it as much, people just need to know it exists, if it's good - they will.

The overwhelming majority of he doomsayers I've seen here are constantly mentioning that they read the book etc which they think means they can guess the quality of the end product. And I think they genuinely believe what they are saying.
