>DO NOT MAKE NEW GENERALS WHEN IT IMMEDIATELY REACHES BUMP LIMIT. WAIT TILL IT GETS TO PAGE 6 TO MAKE A NEW GENERAL!!!! MOD RULES!
i just noticed gokaitrailer's cab is supposed to look like a treasure chest
yeah, there was the obligatory introduction scene and then the one highway scene with machalcon. that one was pretty good though because they used practical effects and models and not the super floaty CGI they used on the rest of the show.
i haven't seen many sentai, are individual mecha parts used on their own often?
They use them a lot in Go-Onger and Dairanger. Go-Busters in particular uses individual parts a ton, although both Dairanger and Go-Busters has Red having a bipedal mech of his own.
Post times sentai made you feel old as fuck.
20+ episodes into Gosei and I realised I was taking a talking arcade game (or whatever the fuck) seriously
>Inb4 HOW DARE YOU
I wouldn't say it made me feel "old as fuck" but that episode of Ninninger with the dream-stealer Yokai who makes Takaharu disregard becoming the Last Ninja. Then he proceeds to look for a job and the rest of them act like a part of him has died, then I realized that that is me now, I'm at the same stage of life as Takaharu now as opposed to Fuuka and Nagi at high school. I've been older than Rangers for three years now but this really hit me.
I think this is the most I've been freaked out. Not even Kamen Rider OG scared me like this.
I don't understand why they went through all the trouble with this guy if they weren't going to give him a more prominent role. I would have enjoyed seeing more of him in the show as a potentially more prominent bad guy.
I'm never gonna skip the Zyuohger OP, it's just too hype. I want the full version right now.
I just realized how much Akibared looks like Battle Japan because of the hair.
The newer stuff really has been good but there are some classics that just can't be beat
newfag to /m/ reporting
I just started watching Dekaranger since SPD was the last PR series I watched. I liked Dekaranger more, but now I dunno if I should continue from the very first season, or pick another randomly
Just follow the cool rule, whatever looks interesting and cool to you, watch it. If you like it, keep watching until the end. If you don't, then start over from step 1 and find a new one.
These have to be one of the best animal themed helmets there are. A big problem I find with animal themed helmets like Gaoranger and Go Ohnger is that I'm constanly looking at the animal eyes rather than the visor and it just looks terrible. The same happens here but other than blue these don't look goofy as fuck.
Go Ohnger really wasn't aestetically pleasing with the mechs or the suits or the weapons. I'd have to say the best thing that came out of it was RPM ripping it off all the time.
Thanks anons. I think I'll look up after Zyuranger or Megaranger, whatever the coin decides
>is there a real sentai as there is a real robot?
Depends on what you mean as "real".
If you want serious story and military focus then I guess Changeman applies, although I wouldnt call it realistic.
And the one before Flashman, which I had to change because Red Falcon's glove triggered my autism.
Just the way Hiromu walks during the handoff speaks volumes about what he went through during Go Busters.
Reminds me of Takeru handoff to Alata. Certain ones hit you in the feels. The way Alata basically said I've got this to Takeru.
I know anon
That said, it wold be neat to have an outsider sixth again, not one that barely appears like Kou or King, or necesarilly an antagonistic one, but that actually feels sort of detached from the main group at times. Gosei Knight sort of did this though.
I've really liked how they've been using new color combos recently. I really hope that an effort is made to more normalize orange and violet. Maybe soon we can skip out on a yellow for an orange or a blue for a violet? I know color balance is a design issue and there will never not be a red, so I think options like those are doable.
There was a stage show where they did that, I think it had OOO, Wizard, Fourze and Nadeshiko, and W, I believe. They did a role call and even called themselves Rider Sentai or something like that, one of them even asking "is this okay?"
Tengu Red, the big-nosed hothead with a strong desire to protect the weak
Phantom Blue, the quiet musician that observes the situation before acting
Drama Yellow, the entry level actress who struggles juggling her job on a TV show and fighting evil
Masquerade Pink, a perpetually happy youth that loves insects and dance
Medium Black, a man born from a Japanese man working in Africa who studies engineering at a university in Tokyo
And then Plague White as the sixth who defects from the bad guys that struggles with his existence as his memories don't go farther back than being powered up/made by the bad guys and unsure if he is even human
Truly this is a fate worse than death.
Are there any actors from Kamen Rider you want/wanted to see on Sentai?
I think pic related would've been a great ranger
Kasumi, after getting roofied by her drink from the theatre, found herself caught by the alarm guy, as the camera mime thing was recording the whole thing, about to kickstart her new career in JAV.
I have no idea what the fuck i just wrote.
I always thought Anna Nagata would have made a better BoukenPink than Haruka Suenaga.
I'm literally crying here.
Goddamn it Dadninger really deserves his happy ending.
Tbh I kinda dig the blockiness of the bot.
It reminds me of this old Star Convoy (an upgrade of Optimus Prime) I used to hav2 20 years ago. Damn thing was a brick but I love him so much.
Screamed a little when I saw this is on my feed.
Because all the ACTUAL plans they had for Ohranger got downplayed as much as possible. They still got used, just severely shortened.
I mean not to spoil anything but the ending will seem like they tried to cram a ten episode arc into a two-parter. And that's not even mentioning the evil swords.
Ramirez obviously, but I don't think he actually spoke a line of english in the show proper.
The Gokai are easily in my top 5 all time best sentai suits. The suit designs are simple but screams badass and isn't bogged down with a lot of crap.
Don only emulates the people that he loves.
>Don only emulates the people that he loves.
Ever since I got into Rider with Wizard I thought that Rinko's actress, who I was surprised to learn was only 19 when she started filming, was wasted there (in retrospect, everyone on that show was, 'cept maybe Shunpei) and that she should've been a Sentai hero.
Then again, if she did do Sentai instead of Rider, that would probably mean we'd have missed out on that keiji booty.
Kabuto did and they made him sign a contract that said he can't go work on any of the projects he did while he was part of the company for 16 years since the start of the contract, same would probably happen to Gentarou.
Does pic related get toned down?
I've been on /m/ for the past few months now and I've forgotten what the consensus is on Gekiranger. Is it good?
The pandas jumping out of the trees 15 seconds into the 1st episode freaked me out
>Going through all the Sentai i've watched, Ranking
>Ninninger smack dab at the bottom, 23rd
I mean it's not bad and it's not over yet, technically, but it seems like the blandest series I've watched to (near) completion so far. I hope Zyuohger (Are we going with Zyu or Jyu?) changes things
Well that's Ohranger in the books and what a wild ride it was. I have no idea what to really even say about it, it was all over the place. Weapons and upgrades available without warning, Gunmajin showing up to be a giant Deus Ex Machina like 3 times, one of the best "Bad Monster wants to be a good guy" episodes..
The only thing I can say for certain is that Riki was completely wasted and I'm convinced now due to the recent revelation that Saban wanted more 6ths in the Sentai shows because of how popular Tommy was that KingRanger was a complete last minute addition. Then again, I remember Kou/KibaRanger being kinda like that too. They really just didn't know how to write 6ths until MegaSilver, did they?
In any case, it has its ups, it has its downs, it still has some of the best designs in Sentai with a pretty great team that all got time to shine except Riki and maybe Juri, kinda. The pluses are there but the minuses bring this down to a pretty middling series. Worth a watch, like any series, but completely baffling in many places. And I'm well aware of the circumstances that made the series so baffling. Even then it's hard to reconcile with the multitude of directions it was pulled in afterwards. 5/10.
> the recent revelation that Saban wanted more 6ths in the Sentai shows because of how popular Tommy was that KingRanger was a complete last minute addition.
>with a pretty great team that all got time to shine except Riki and maybe Juri, kinda.
They were all bland as fuck anon, only Yuji had a good character moment and green and pink had some focus episodes here and there but nothing special.
There's literally no kaiju in Sentai. Except these ugly fucks.
>tfw you just know that Nagi has spanked it to that photobook at least once
And Fuuka straight up plays her clit like a guitar to it every night.
Yeah-yeah, any of her in that lawyer suit?
I know Rider actors are pretty closely followed in their post-Rider career, what about Sentai?
I know Ikeda went on to Garo, quite a few went into va work (Mao, Nossan), Marvelous has a kid and Goseiblack is in law school, what about the rest?
Did anyone go completely off the rails, like Super-One (I think, whichever one ran that massive property scam)?
I know that Yutaka Hirose went on to do Lian in Dagwon, and got a role in KR Agito.
As for going off-rails, Asao Kobayashi got arrested for touching at least one teenage girl with his Vulcan Stick, then somehow became a medium after getting out of jail. So, it's as crazy as the show he acted for.
With the new Kamen Rider 1 movie they'll have done the "current Rider has to fight Shocker after a fuck-up with original series history" three times in the space of five years, so Sentai has got to do that once.
the images came from some contest bandai was running at the start of gokaiger, those were the only ones on the website. I'm guessing they didn't want to include the bangai/extra characters for spoiler reasons.
It's true. Saban convinced (paid) Toei to have 2 girls and an extra fighter on each team. He was also allegedly the reason subsequent teams had more than one combining mecha, starting with Kakuranger.
>Random fat cracker said it so it must be true
That explains why there was only one girl from Gingaman to Gaoranger.
Yeah, this. I downloaded it by the one or two episode releases. Of course the batch comes out before I finish.
I mean, this is from a so-called 'tokusatsu expert' during a thing sponsored by the people who hold the rights to release sentai in the west so I'm pretty inclined to believe him. Unless this is some super Saban plot to try and make it seem like they hold influence over Toei and Bandai for some reason.
>Goranger episode 30
>Mine Mask's plan essentially consists of committing suicide
Top cake. Also, when exactly do the weaknesses start making sense? A mole and a turtle seemed out of place, considering the Masks.
Moritaka Ai (Kagura) had minor roles in Tantei no Tantei and the movie adaptation of Ore Monogatari.
She also does theater regularly, while continuing with her school studies. She turned 18 this month.
He does an stellar job as Shun in Arc-V, hope he gets more roles in the future.
He explained on twitter that he knew how it's supposed to be pronounced "Jyew-ranger". I can only assume his butchering of the name was to avoid a lecture on Japanese pronunciation to the viewers.
So maybe the money stopped flowing after Megaranger? He didn't really go into anything after that point. The dude has proven himself very knowledgeable on toku, so I have no reason to disbelieve him other than "someone in /ssg/ said he's unreliable, so it must be true."
I just watched the first episode of Liveman and holy shit the rangers get fucked up. It's all cool and triumphant "Fuck yeah, we're the Liveman here to kick your butts" and then they start getting beat by grunts.
Brain Empire doesn't play
>"current Rider has to fight Shocker after a fuck-up with original series history"
That's not confirmed at all at this point though. It was just a rumor, which mentioned nothing about Tachibana's daughter or Shocker splitting into two groups, so it's likely false.
There must be a lot of Japanese boys with confused boners this year.
Got a 14 year old brother whose only experience watching Sentai is Zyuranger and Kakuranger. Been trying to bring him out of PR but not sure what to marathon with him. As an
Ultraman fan who just picks things up,would these be accurate guesses about the last 6 sentai shows?
Goseiger: Mech and humans look weird, but the story is good.
Gokaiger: Not good for someone who hasn't watched other sentai shows, good mechs and characters, great references.
Go-Busters: Great cast, okay mech, but pretty different feel from other shows.
Kyoryuger: Very main character heavy, sometimes to a detriment. Fun mech, fun cast.
ToQger: Very meh mech, really good enemies and cast, cute story.
Ninninger: Weird mech, hotblooded cast.
I haven't seen this in a while
I'm surprised this never got updated with some kind of decapitated lion head in the corner
In that case, one of the Sentai anniversaries will have to do that. Maybe about the Deathgaliens getting the bright idea of killing everyone on Earth by attacking the one in 1975, or something like that.
As long as Shirakura isn't involved anywhere in the production, at least.
I don't know, bud.
It's not a tumor.
>he thinks big ears are inherently ugly
What a fag. I bet you dislike Kagura's nose too.
>titmilking lesbian pic
Anon, I need this.
>mfw she will never get married and is seriously worried about it
Baseball Mask first came back in Gokaiger's summer movie where they changed into the Gorangers and re-enacted the baseball game from when he originally appeared in Goranger. Then in SHT he was only on-screen for 5 seconds when the DenLiner stopped in 1976 before he got bumped off by Marvelous disguised as Akaranger.
if you say so bud
>Alata is not hot.
But he was cute and cuddly.
I feel like a lot of people get down on a shit show and start thinking everything about it is shit, like wizard
wizard has a great OP yet people shit on it for the stigma that it's attached to wizard
Why wasn't this a Momo episode?
It's kind of late in the thread to point this out, but I just noticed Zyuoh white wears white nylons in her human form.
This pleases me greatly. It's a small thing, but girls in white nylons is a big fetish of mine.
