***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Our next Group Build!
Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

because it's snapfit-kun samefagging. people are finally starting to ignore his bullshit so now he's really trying his get to get replies. No one going by either of those 2 names post on /toy/ and is a huge pathetic cry for attention.
so if you see this little faggot posting, whether it's with his trip or a name he made up, just move on as if it wasn't there and he'll be forced to latch onto some other website/board/thread to get that attention he craves for whatever reason, and we will finally be rid of this annoying waste of human existence.
I think those are new weapon/armor sets. holy shit the new barbie-toes with high heels next to rebake looks better minus the shitty high-heels feet.
is the gundam designer some kind of gayfag or something?
MS on the right is Barbatos 6th Form, HG next month
Gusion Rebake 1/100 next month as well
McGillis Custom 1/100 in April
seriously though, is the gundam designer for this series some kind of crossdressing tranny that's projecting all his high-heeled fantasies to the gundams he's designing for the IBO series?
The Mortar Headds fit the super regal and rather outlandish universe they're in, so high heels is perfectly fine.
IBO is like something more akin in its setting to 08th MS Team, and yet the designs don't work at all within the context of their own universe.
Not to mention that Barbatos was already a knockoff Mortar Headd given the way its inner frame is designed and exposed, and now those high heels doesn't help it either. Maybe the final form will have L-Gaim Mk-II's head just so everything will come full circle.
>Maybe the final form will have L-Gaim Mk-II's head just so everything will come full circle.
You don't say.
For anyone who thinks the MG Freedom 2.0 looks great but doesn't like the new super small beam rifle,
a reminder that Origin Time recasted the MB Freedom's beam rifle and shield.
>The white Kimaris we see is just a spin-off of a far more legendary Gundam
>Final boss Gundam is revealed to be a golden ORIGINAL KIMARIS
>IBO is like something more akin in its setting to 08th MS Team, and yet the designs don't work at all within the context of their own universe.
Greatest irony is that Barbatos's mecha designer is the same guy who did all the designs for 08th MS Team.
But our mecha designers are G-Reco guy, Ebikawa, and the guy who did the Thrones.
Any more of these?
I am generally okay with certain high heels, but this is taking it too far, and this is the most fucked version I have seen yet. The new reworked Gusion looks better imo, but I'm not digging those huge thrusters. The Grim Gerude? Looks pretty cool, and I'm digging those swords. The Freedom 2.0 looks okay but the rifle, shield, and chest are triggering me. This new blue Graze is the one I want. I have been waiting for one Graze that would eventually be my definitive Graze, and this is it.
Does anyone have experience with these? Can you use them to wet sand?
>I am generally okay with certain high heels, but this is taking it too far
Agreed, lots of lead Gundam designs have had heels in the past, but this is even more tall than Nobel's. It doesn't look good and doesn't fit with the show at all, so I have no idea what the hell they're even doing with the design.
>I don't like girly things in my manstuff, but if anyone says I'm gay, I'll call them gay back!
New Freedom looks perfect, much better than the MG and Metal Build versions. It'll go great with the DM Destiny.
>New Freedom looks perfect, much better than the MG and Metal Build versions.
It looks almost identical to the Metal Build.
I like the way those rabbit eared ones look.
Also, what size metal hose thingies go with PG's?
Oh, it's Grimgerde. Cursory Googling brings up a Valkyrie from Die Walküre, with the name apparently coming from Grim/Grimm (mask/rage) and Garthr (enclosure)
>doesn't even bother capitalizing the beginning of his sentences to look like a different person
>implying anyone who doesn't capitalize the beginning of their sentences is the same person all the time, ever.
Anyone here experience cracking on the wrists of their HG kits? Specifically the ones with wrists like the GN Archer/Clanche?
Anyone know how to remedy that? If I sand the ball joint on the hand, the hand'll become loose. If I don't, I assume the outward pressure caused by the ball wrist pushing out on the tightened polycap will crack the wrist.
WHAT THE FUCK DO I USE TO STRIP TAMIYA
I LET IT SIT IN BLEACH FOR OVER A DAY AND IT STILL REFUSES TO BE REMOVED
HOW CAN I FIX MY FUCKUPS IF THE MOST COMMON METHOD DOESN'T WORK
EVEN USING LACQUER THINNER DOESN'T REMOVE EVERYTHING, IT JUST MAKES IT WORSE
i posted this in the other thread but lately there was an image spammer? did i do good on my first gundam? i would like some opinions before i move on to zaku 2. also is there a cheaper alternative for mr. matte clear coat?
did you already topcoat that? cause you gave it a good try but damn man, clean up those damn panel lines. they're all over the place. it's like you're coloring outside the lines...
i just opened the box hat this thing was in... is this what it is? i didnt even build it?!?
lol jk. Im new to gundam building but i saw this guy and knew it was a gundam... or dom i should say. I really want to get started on the zaku his sniper is ridiculous. I have Mr. cement ready and paint coming in the mail. i figured i could put some pieces together now. any tips for better panel lining?
It looks like the tip was completely redesigned while the black bottom portion turned into a latch. It might be for cooling, or it might be for increased articulation.
Either way it's a very ambitious redesign. Pretty surprising they're labeling this 2.0 instead of vRM, but I guess they missed the boat on that.
...And considering how much Hyaku Shiki 2.0 redesigned things, I guess the concept of 2.0 being more anime accurate is pretty much dead now.
Heres my Gato Gelgoog so far, no decals. dont know if i should go crazy on those or not. was going to repaint the hands but its to cold right now.
>It doesn't even look like the original anymore.
You can say that about all of the MG vRMs. Is it just more noticeable here because people actually give a shit about the original Freedom?
People point to the Metal Build line when they think of big SEED redesigns, but just about every one of the MGCE kits have redesigned the fuck out of the original Okawara lineart.
Even the old MG Freedom was based off of BEECRAFT concept art. It just looks nothing like it because Bandai wasn't as good at capturing lineart back then.
why do you keep comparing 1/100s to MG? obviously the MGs would be redesigned just a bit in order to fit the grade while still resembling the original design.
But the MG Freedom was already a MG and the 2.0 that's going to be released has wings that barely resemble the actual Freedom's. People are just praising it and eating it up because it's "so edgy" or "I love it because it looks like the destiny now".
The 1/100s are directly based off of the original Okawara lineart. They are in fact very accurate kits, they just look awful because guess what, the Okawara lineart looks awful!
And if you think the MG vRMs were only redesigned "a bit" then you need to get your eyes checked.
You would be wrong, because the X-SEED frame they kept reusing was super basic and didn't particularly influence the outside armor much. Like, the little circles added to the MG Blitz's shoulders? Unique to the MG Blitz. They put a shit ton of effort into those kits, which is honestly surprisingly considering that I don't think they were very popular designs?
Their midriffs and legs are pretty much the same though
Incidentally, the concept art for MG Destiny looks much better than the real thing, especially the head. They almost nailed MG Impulse, so I can only assume whoever was leading the MG Destiny project just didn't give a shit.
The only RM kit was the Strike. The other MG Seed kits were not remastered. They were "Master Graded" so to speak.
I still stand by the whole reason why people are loving the new Freedom 2.0 is because of the "edgelord" wings. So edgy. Put sharp edges on anything and people with shit taste will just eat it up.
That's mostly down to all five of them being in the same line, but there are pretty distinct differences between all of them but Strike and Duel. Blitz adds red details everywhere, a fold-out prong on the back of the foot, and has those weird movable thruster things on the side of its feet. Buster has much thicker armor (to the point of inhibiting articulation), and to account for the huge knee armor has entirely different parts there.
And even Strike and Duel, who are supposed to look nigh identical, change things up a bit. I'm pretty sure the MG Strike added in some new parts entirely for its knee armor?
Though if you're talking /proportions/, then yeah, sharing the X-SEED frame makes them all about the same.
The concept art for all of them was drawn up at the same time, and they are clearly supposed to be a single line. You could call them MG SEED, but there are already MG SEED kits and they don't look like this new line. You could call them "MG SEED HD Remaster" since that's what they're advertising anyways, and hey guess what that's pretty much vRM.
Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if Freedom 2.0 was drawn up back then too, and they just didn't get around to releasing it until now.
So guys whatever happened to the
image spammer who wants you to move to his hug-box on /toy/?
And I was right about the hidden arms.
Now, the real question is how the fuck a four-armed mech is going to feel through the A-V system. Or, maybe, they somehow install a double cockpit and that one faggy kid gets to be Guts' battle-bro for the rest of the series.
There is a chance of this happening to you if you buy that mongoloid plastic destiny.
I didn't think the chink qc would be that bad.
Is it safe/normal for my air compressor to become overheated(?) and stop working for couple of hours after working for so long? And by so long i mean only an hour, i've only painted 3 models with this thing.
depends on your compressor type. mine was automotive purpose & it get hot as usual.
i guess it's the same for all compressor, as they have heat sinks for a reason.
you might need to check or maybe change the compressor lubricants. they should have those, in general.
Some progress on my Lord Quanta.
Carved up some pla plate base for the sword and made the shield arm equippable.
Now figuring out how to mount the lance to the back.
At first I intended to use the original handle of the Sword Impulse's sword but shit broke on me, just gotta figure out how to attach the pla plate handle to the broken blade.
Also carved up some pla plate details on the front cover of the feet if you can make that out from the pic.
This shit is gonna take a while.
which one of you faggots is going to bomb his fucking wallet with this thing?
I should feel bad for buying this but I can't help it
a-at least it is cheaper than the current MB Destiny in the aftermarket...
Sorry for this (>>13782528), been getting some connection errors when I try to post. It's honestly weird.
Well, just wanted to share what I did after the advice from lsat thread. Tried to sand down the nubs as much as possible and did some panel lining and I gotta say it DOES bring out much more of the detail. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my hands on some more Grazes and git gud with them. Thanks for the help, /m/!
Another pic, hopefully in a better quality. Used an Airline 0.05 water based marker for the lines.
>Releasing 1/100 Efreet before 1/100 G Self
Aaaand I bought the HG G Self before they never reprint it ever again.
The Mack Knife is already scrubbed from Amazon. Nobody is selling that stuff anymore.
I'm betting that this is going to end up being Akihiro's new digs. I wonder if his current Graze gets re-purposed into the new pink one or if they get a new one from Ein or something.
The reason why there were no 1/100 G-Reco kits, let alone kits for the prominent suits in the series that actually could use a kit like the Hecate or Moran was because it was competing alongside kits from BFTry for production space. It's why only the early grunts like the Grimoire and the Caitsith got kits and only the final boss-tier suits like the Kabakali and G-Self perfect pack got kits in the end of the line.
Meanwhile IBO has no other competing line to go against, so they're free to put out an extra Graze variant along each regular release on the cheap, alongside the addition of a 1/100 line as a MG substitute. By March IBO will have as many HG 1/144 kits as G-Reco did (If you count the Space Backpack as an add-on set like the weapons sets for IBO). I love the line so far but they really need to chill with the Graze variants.
Eh, so far we only really have 3 proper Graze variants - the two Kais shouldn't count since they're basically reverse-engineered Grazes cobbled together from leftovers and scraps.
Except the actual reason G-Reco got barely anything was they expected the show to flop, so they didn't put that much effort into fleshing out a line. Meanwhile BF and BF Try are like 90% rehashes until the end of the line, so that shit was relatively easy to pump out.
Meanwhile IBO has so many Graze variants because they made that inner frame, so they are going to get their fucking money's worth out of it. We knew from the very beginning that they were going to be doing this with IBO, so you'd have to be an idiot to actually be surprised.
Done with my DM Skygrasper, sans top coating. It was a really good build, some fitting issues but hey, it's probably a shrink of the PG because they whole thing was undergated
LOOK AT ME, I'M IN FAITH
SINCE THE BIG DECAL ON MY SHOULDER DIDN'T MAKE THIS CLEAR ENOUGH I'LL PUT THIS BIG UGLY THING ON MY WING
Just to clarify, the original MB Destiny had a much nicer looking FAITH decal on its shoulder.
But FAITH doesn't have a headquarters.
Meanwhile the special markings version of 00R actually toned down the pinstripes for an overall smoother look.
Should I make the turn a shin or the pale rider?
Then again I think they actually got Ebikawa to oversee all of the MB 00 releases. Did you know that he was the one behind the Dash Unit's new feet gimmick?
He also proposed a new super huge weapon to go with the Avalanche Exia's overall bulkier appearance, but sadly it was rejected.
I'm on the west coast waiting for my first package. I've been waiting 15 days. How much longer should I expect to wait? Another week? 2 weeks? Should I just throw out all expectations of when it gets here?
I finally remembered to take a better picture of this. It's still not the greatest thing ever, but I do call it mine.
PG Skygrasper isn't undergated. Looks more like a retooled RG
looks better than that initial pic you posted, i'm glad you took the advice given and have decided to try and get better. just keep at it and you'll keep on getting better the more you build. Maybe try out some matte topcoat next
So I want to get started with gunpla and I found on my local hobby store the following models I am interested in:
Zeta Gundam (MSZ-006) RG
Zaku Ground Set HG
RX-78-2 MG( I picked the Origin version because I think it looks the best)
Are there any problems in quality with these?
Also I would really like to know if a gray and/or brown marker would be fine for panel lining since the store doesn't have any others and I would have to wait for 3 weeks for them to arrive from amazon.
Gray is good for white/light blues. Brown is good for warm colours. You'll probably want a black one for blues and darker colours as well as if you prefer the black line aesthetic on white instead of grey. It's much more sharp, obviously.
It's expensive, and not really worth the effort when you're releasing so many kits at once.
When you're only doing one thing every couple of months though, and don't have to worry as much about QC...
>Ootori skygrasper is possible
I didn't think my cock could get this hard.
but everyone loves edgelord designs! look at the MG Freedom 2.0! Everyone loves it because it's got edgelord wings now! Why can't you be cool like everyone else?
good thing their parts replacement doesnt make you go through endless loops then, unlike a certain company.
also, who uses foil stickers on 3rd party and bootlegs anyway?
Hell, with the 1/100 Mobius Zero you could probably do a Mobius Zero Skygrasper
>tfw you can move on to a new kit but you want to try and improve your current one.
i guess theres nothing more to do besides redo the rings but i need to wait for the snow to die down to go to the store
Is there just some colours that won't look good no matter how many times you sand/buff them? I'm working on a hi-mock and I'm relatively new but I've been trying to buff it, it looks 'okay' now but it's definitely not uniform. I guess there's no real way to get it completely uniform aside from painting?
Gourai Monotone, it's basically supposed to be the exclusive version.
yup, along with the knife and piledriver addons.
Here's today's work. Still needs some work and some corrections tho. Any thoughts?
I think the RX-78-02 Origin Ver is a great MG, slightly beefier looking than the 3.0, tons of extras and looks great with just stickers and top coat
This guy's pretty good. I like it. A bit simple, but the end result OOB is quite good. Articulate as fuck for what it is.
MG RX-78-02 is pretty much the new standard as far as modern MGs go. It's a true successor to the 2.0, unlike the somewhat half-baked 3.0.
It's only really problem is that it has Origin proportions, which might be a deal breaker to people with shit taste.
Didn't like how Nix Providence's back hardpoint was literally just a hole in the back so I built some detail around it with some layered styrene. The putty is just to make sure the surface of the leveled pieces is smooth and even and will be sanded tomorrow.
this is my third gundam did i do a good job? more pictures?
Apparently people said that with I think stylet? That they accepted more preorders than they had the inventory for and instead of fulfilling the orders of the people who ordered over the limit, they just straight started selling them to anyone who then bought them. Something to that effect but someone can correct me if that's wrong.
Someone apparently made an RG version of the MG Flight Unit for the Astray.
So far i've lost 3 pieces off the RX-78 3.0, a finger, torso/shoulder joint armor. and the lower cod.
sure they are somewhere in my room but doesnt help i have carpet.
i want to just dip this whole thing in glue
No, you're thinking of the "Red Dragon Flight Pack for the MG version". There's no such "RG Flight Pack" for the RG Astray Red Frame unless you kitbash/custom adapt the one for the HG.
If there is one for RG I demand proof and name of said maker/company/group.
Everybody shut the fuck up
Second best blue Zeon MS coming through
Finished snapping this Knight Gundam. Gonna paint the yellow, silver, and red over with some gold trimmings.
This was the inspiration for my Knight Quanta custom.
Neat. Any concept of the Magatsuki or Durga FAG?
The Durga II coming this February looks sleek as fuck.
this nigga gets it, first game i imported and guessed through moon runes.
Can I use glitters to add these kind of effects to my build burning gundam?
>maybe a bright blue or white painted on top of a regular blue?
I was hoping to retain the clearness of the piece.
>I would lightly apply glitter, pearl top coat and install a small led behind it.
Can I not install a led? I was thinking of adding a mirrorish paint under the piece and then glitters above. By pearl top coat do you mean the gloss top coat?
Man, I really need to get around to making my own custom shit
Bitch Please. Vagan Omnimon was far superior anyway.
What do you guys usually do with the leftover thinned paint after painting? I know putting it back in the original bottle will ruin the paint. Is it worth keeping it in an extra bottle even if I rarely paint?
> DAT sukumizu FA:Girl
i'll definitely buy that when it's out.
It can only be fate that this installment of g/p general is basically SEED MGs: the Thread
I just finished the Buster and the Blitz this week.
i fucking know right, but hey I'll take one out of the two rather than none at all. watch them actually make it and it be p-bandai.
If there will be a MG BD1 I wish they will use the original design of it instead of the new manga version.
I just like it being a blood thirsting blue GM.
>When you have all the kits you want except this
please jesus I don't even care if it's P-Bandai
