What difference does it make switching from, lets say fifth gen i7 to seventh gen i7. Same applies to amd. What kind of intensive task are you doing apart from posting on a taiwanese shit smearing website that you have to buy the "revolutionary" next gen cpus and overclock them like the housefire autists you are? All of this leads to one fact: /g/ is used as a viral ad campaign platform to leech off shekels from you fedoras.
None
Buy ryzen instead

wtf i love amd now
NVIDIA AND AMD are a cartel. They hog the IP of GPUs and nobody can enter the market. Neither of those have their own Foundries so they are expensive too, since they have to pay fees to their Foundry masters like Samsung or TSMC or whoever they use nowadays. They don't even do anything amazing since it's extremely easy to parallelize the GPU, it's how it works. So NVIDIA makes slightly bigger chips, they price them higher and they are faster. AMD returns with slightly smaller and slower but cheaper chips. And the cycle continue.
Motherfucking bastards carter.
If they let actual Foundries into the market like Samsung or Intel they would be dead both of them 10 years ago.
>ayyyyyymd
>not dead in the water
Daily reminder that picture related is Ryzen 2.0

Holy shit that's hilarious. Can't wait to see game benchmarks where CPU1 is used 100% and all others are <50%

Why are laptops becoming less upgradeable? More laptops sell with soldered components than ever. Even high end laptops are soldered now.
something something jews
Because who needs it. Any workstation laptop has upgradable ram, and all Ultrabooks have enough to last as long as the rest of the hardware

The majority of all programs you use are still single threaded, 90% use less than 4 cores. Which means that 8-core Ryzen will be absolute shit for 90% of your workload unless all you do is benchmarks to console yourself over a bad purchase

desperate shilltel everyone, stop your damage control mate. not everyone is gaymen.
Should we all shill for AMD even if they pull again the same old bullshit, pretending we only need multithreaded performance on their shitty single threaded performance, or expose AMD for their hypocrisy in case we do good that way?
Doing the first might improve Intel even further. But doing the second might improve AMD more.
Decisions, decisions.
>>59064745
why do you give a fuck?
intel's just going to release something more costly but better performing, amd follows roadmap
if one falls the other one stagnates until it catches up
rinse n repeat
someone already said this shit ages ago
>>59064974
Thing is Intel has Foundries and AMD doesn't. Neither is "evil", it's just more expensive for AMD. Besides, AMD isn't that "saint" either, their NVIDIA+AMD cartel on GPUs is obvious, they hog the IPs and nobody can enter the market.
We should ban all AMD fags cause they're going to make fun of people who have less than 6 cores/12 threads in the near future.
So I come back home from rehab and my dad tells me the pc won't start. I look inside and see a little capacitor lying on the bottom, and when I take out the video card I see this on the back. Everything else seems to be working fine.
I don't have much hope for it, in fact I already ordered another card since this one is long out of warranty, but what do you guys think? Is it completely unsalvageable?

Redpill me on the HP wave, /g/ !
I'm looking for a desktop machine that's relatively portable (I move frequently) , but I don't want a laptop due to the shitty keyboards, and the fact that I refuse to plug in a separate keyboard, mouse and monitor into a laptop because that's just autistic. I've been using an Acer AZC 606 2-in-one desktop and that's been working pretty well for me, but I'm looking for something with a little more processing power and graphic capability. I've been using onboard graphics as long as I've had my own computer, so anything that's an improvement would be fine. (If I can run Skyrim on low with an acceptable framerate, that's all I want). The wave looks to be all I want, with more portability than i expected, within my ~$650 budget. So what do you guys think?
apparently it's loud as fuck because HP is too stupid to use a normal fan
>>59064591
I've been hearing about this and it seems to be the only major problem; would there be any way to mount an auxillary fan or replace the stock cooler? Apparently even with the loud cooler it heats up like a motherfucker.
I guess the lack of modularity in general might be a breaking point in general, but then again I only upgrade every 5 or 6 years anyway desu
>>59064542
>So what do you guys think?
How fucking new are you? HP makes literally the shittiest of the shitty garbage. From laptop garbage (EliteBook, Envy etc) to desktop garbage.. it's all just overpriced crap.
Their MacPro knockoff is no different. It looks like shit on the inside and on the outside.
