Thanks. I think there is a bit of work to getting used to eating the amount of calories that keeps you thin, but, after that it gets pretty easy imo.

I mean for me to be 110lbs I can still eat 1800kcal+ .. to be 120lbs can still eat 2000kcal+ with a sedentary lifestyle based on TDEE. So, it's not like you have to starve to be thin.

If you are chubby and want to be thin really fast, then you might starve like >>10838072 is doing.. but, it's not necessary if you don't mind taking it slow. -500kcal deficits aren't really that painful.

For me it is also kind of fun to be in control of my weight though.. so, the process is enjoyable as well. Picking a goal and then getting there type of thing. It's something I have complete control over, which I can't say for much else in my life.

Why not eat though? I think steady is probably better. Less likely to binge. You probably feel like shit because you haven't eaten anything - or at least it doesn't help. Eat at least 800 to 1000 calories while you drop.

Well yesterday I ate mac n cheese because I was sick with a fever and it always makes me feel better. That immediately made me feel worse and my insomnia/anxiety started acting up so I only got 3 hrs of sleep. So today I just feel nasty and my stomach is all weird. I had a mint and almost threw up because of it.

She shouldn't go below 1200kcal, I agree there. As said earlier, the fasting thing is dumb in the long run, it's much better to do it gradually for a myriad of reasons. -500kcal at that bodyweight, that's the max deficit for any length of time.

Most of them make you gain weight. Everyone is different though in how drugs affect them. I guess if you were a depressed overeater maybe if the pills got you not depressed you'd stop overeating - so a few ways to look at it.

My experience with anti-depressants was pretty bad though, wouldn't recommend. They can help in the short run, but there are so many side effects and I found them hard to stop after long term use.

So right now it's a lot harder for me to cut cals without obsessing over food because I feel like I'm starving (Even at 1200 I'm incredibly hungry) and I am slightly more bloated. Not only is it very unhealthy to skip meals, but it slows down your metabolism so whatever you do eat again your body will turn it to fat to survive instinctually. If you eat things like celery to fill your stomach, you'll be good and not only that, celery takes more energy to digest than it gives you so ur losing weight. Not to mention all the fiber. So saving whatever muscle you have is essential while losing weight.

Personally there are couple of ways to do this

1. Cutting out carbs ( it's mentally challenging , most people find sugar essential to have coffee with )

2. Calorie restriction - well that always works , but if you are really frustrated you can get pretty mental about it , at the ened you no matter what you need to have deficit of calories.

3. Fasting - personally i fast for 40 hours a week one time .

So you cut out carbs from Monday - Friday evening. Don't eat from Friday evening till Sunday noon ( 40 hours ) .

The reason i advocate to cut out carbs is personally for me , if i have to cut calories it's much more filling and nutritionally sound to have low-carb meal like Steak and vegetables.

You get essentials fats and protein and don't feel like murdering everyone and your skin and hormones don't get fucked up.

Just weight wise calorie is a calorie, you will lose same weight , but it's not really the science that's lagging the people to lose weight these days or ever , it's mostly a mental excercise and very tough one.

Also 40 hour fast - this number i pulled out of researching the internet about the best pay-off between burning fat and saving muscle and it turns out this is scientifically THE best return you can get fasting ;)

I eat enough so it isn't that bad. I'd rather lower my weight slower than be really uncomfortable. A -500kcal deficit you aren't that starving. Low as I'd really go is a bodyweight where my maintenance would be 1700kcal, so eating 1200-1300 to get there isn't that bad.

I stopped eating bread for a few years, lately have been eating high-protein whole grain bread again. It's good to cut out the pointless white crap along with donuts, pastries etc, but the occasional slice of whole wheat is completely fine.
