There is a thing called Fenno-Scandinavia which is a Peninsula in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

I'm from Denmark myself, so I'm aware of of the fact that Scandinavia is not the same as the Nordic countries.

However it's my impression that many people around the world seems to think that Scandinavia=Nordic countries, so for a better chance of getting my question answered I chose the better known Scandinavia.

You should try to visit the many bronze and viking age sites around Sweden. Runestones, rock carvings, burial mounds, burial ships and so forth.
And if you are looking for awesome nature experiences, visit Jämtland in Sweden and Dovre in Norway.

If you ever make it to Finland, you shoud visit ancient pagan holy sites in remote forests and find some sami Laplanders in Lapland. Pagan Finns were different than Norse (scandis, danes, swedes, norwegians etc) and had their own mythology and shit. There were also infamous witches in mainland Finland and Lapland, even Vikings were a bit scared of going further into Finland than the coast because of them.

Anyway, OP, Denmark, for example, has some pretty interesting runestones and so on from viking ages, just do a quick google research and there are plenty of areas worthy visit. Not sure about other countries though, been only in Denmark and Malmo.

There is a legit haunted house close to the border between Norway and Sweden, on the Norwegian side, some 100 km from Trondheim. You would need a car to get there.

I think arranging a sleep over is possible, but I would strongly advice against it. The house was used for some horrible things during WW2.
