I have. The second image presents solid techniques. Although for me personally the visualizations like pulling up on a rope didn't work. I just willed myself to leave my body really hard. That's essentially what you're doing when you push up with your imaginary arms or pull up on an imaginary rope and so on.

One little detail left out: after you wake up and then will yourself to leave your body real hard, it won't happen instantly. You'll do it for as long as you can maintain concentration. Then you'll relax and drift back to sleep for a moment. THEN you'll find yourself aware and awake and out of your body.

It takes maturity to handle death unselfishly. Eventually you hate yourself for those times you cared more about your feelings than the feelings of the dying, and the next time it happens you think about them and what they need.

Comforting the dying is something we all have the instinctual capacity to do. Dying people want to be reassured and it's okay to do so. You'll get the feeling for what they want if you let yourself care about them.

Should also say that a dying person is never going to be unhappy that you're holding their hand.

That chart makes a lot of assumptions about the 8 circuit model of consciousness. To say that man is on the 7th circuit is a stretch.
