I will never forget the first time I saw this painting.

I was in first grade and my eccentric teacher (who I am still friendly with today) came to assist me with some work. I noticed he had a stack of printed papers set on the table and pic related was on top. Of course I was initially shocked, it's a scary, striking, and jarring picture to see as a first grader, then I asked him what it was. I don't know why, but the way he casually responded, "Oh, that's just Cronos, the god of time, eating his son", dissipated all the fear I had and made me insanely curious instead. I didn't even know of any gods but the Christian one at that point. I still find it creepy looking of course, but I also associate warm feelings with it now. Pretty sure that he is responsible for me liking mythology and 'weird' stuff in general.

Also, he gave me a cactus for my birthday. What a good gift, everyone just got me toys and shit. He was great.

This actually reminds me of an interview H.R Giger gave about his design of the Alien eggs , he said that the first designs were just a slit and it looked like a vagina . I'm trying to remember a creepy animation that was posted on /f/ a few times. It looked like a classic western animation from a VHS tape (with all the static and bad coloring) but it was a bunch of random loosely connected scenes of various abstract monsters that were screaming. I think at the beginning it says "do not watch this video" or something. anyone know what I'm talking about? it's been bugging the shit out of me all night trying to remember it, it was really unsettling when I was a little younger. I saw it maybe a few years ago, could be 3-5 years at least. It almost seemed psychedelic with a lot of the shapes morphing around constantly. I think I may have blanked it out to cope.

Sorry if this seems like I'm just /r/ posting, I don't really have much elsewhere to turn to without making a whole new thread, and I'm sure that wouldn't go very well
