Hi Thoth, I was wondering if you know anything about Norse mysteries and occult philosophy?

I'm wondering if the world tree Yggdrasil correlates to pathways within the human body. And if the pathways also correlate to the runes (similar to how the pathways in Qabbalah correlate to letters of the Hebrew alphabet).

I do not believe that Abrahamic God manifests himself by these means. Thoth would?
>>
>>18564864
I'm not an at all experienced with Thoth. I've only had very minor dealings with Hecate and Bast / Bastet.
>>
>>18564880
And in your opinion, they would?
>>
>>18564846
I use this in my filters to bring it to top:

It is a portion of the MEGA link to the Library.
>>
>>18564887
Probably not. Hecate seems tired of the wiccan, half-assed worship she receives. And unless it involves a cat Bastet can't be asked. I can't imagine many entities / deities would be open to "meme magic" as that's largely a new concept. Most would prefer you do it the way people have done it for centuries.

It's actually worse than this, through these shitty practices they slowly transfigure the object of worship into something else through group attention.
In short, badass underworld goddess of crossroads and darkness, Hecate, is slowly being transformed into the goddess of fluffy bullshit love spells and half-assed witchery.

Spiritual vandalism, I tell ya!

you fundamentally misunderstand how godforms operate. Hecate was defined by worship in the beginning, and continues to be defined by it, just like every other god form.

I feel like my energy body has negative entity attachments and my aura is fucked up. Due to abuse, probably.

Do any of you have rituals that could help purge whatever seems to be draining my energy and causing me to behave in unconcious ways?

I do use LBRP, do yoga and some theraphy modalities.
>>
>>18565988
Try cold showers everyday, picking up new hobbies and maybe changing your diet. How often do you do LBRP and yoga?

>I cheat with my showers by taking Scottish showers
>>
>>18565620
how do you know otherwise?

Gods change shape, this is nearly undebatable with the existence of things like syncretism and cultural re-naming and adaptation. When they change they change in accordance with their new purpose or new name. Hecates purpose originally was granted to her by virtue of the reasons that she was called, this hasnt changed because its many years later.
>>
>>18566004
Diet is great, banish at least once a day, sometimes just go and banish every room.

Yoga four, five times a week. Also do energy work, and stuff, burn dragons blood, affirmations from Bruce s book, doing stuff from Slate s Psychic Vampires book.

Noob with this stuff, but looking for some ritual that might have more juice than lbrp.
>>
>>18565988

Mind, spirit, and meat aren't in harmony. Mindfulness and reinforcing positive thought/visualization patterns would do you some good. Remember, the subconscious is still a part of us and can help or hinder us; it doesn't speak words, it speaks images, so make sure you're properly communicating with the other aspects of your self if you want to affect more than shallow changes.

Dee's Liber Secundus tells us that Dee was familiar with two 42 Letter names of God used by Qabalists. The Marginal note indicates that his source was the orientalist monk, contemporary of Dee and apologist for Reuchlin - Petrus Galatinus. The text in question is from Liber III Chapter XI of Opus De Arcanis Catholicae Veritatis . . . Here is the passage, cf. Joseph H Peterson's John Dee's Five Books of Mystery (pp. 111-2) and Colin Campbell'sThe Magic Seal of Dr. John Dee (p. 92).

If you're not willing to take the time to speak on practices or google a bit on the subject (ignoring garbage new age blogs), you probably don't belong here. The pineal gets crystalline deposits. Period. Fluoride may or may not be present in those deposits, but they will happen regardless of fluoride intake.

I've been really interested in practicing Magick, but most of the traditions I've looked into don't seem like they're easy to practice covertly. I'm living with my family while I finish HS, and off to college in the fall.

What are some traditions that are covert/don't require consistent practice of ceremonial chanting/other things that'd draw unwanted attention? I asked this a while back as well and was suggested to look into NAP and Contemplative Kabbalah, just looking for a second opinion.

One develops powers through training.

Training includes opening and closing gestures, that train the mage to trigger power at will.

This is a very important part of it. If you, say, start an astral protection out of nowhere, you're doing it wrong and you should stop training, before you do so while you're driving.

>>
>>18576268
>she'll cringe once she reads the VGW
Depends on her outlook. If she's interested in various synchretic practices maybe not. I find that text is best for Christfags first interested in ATR practice or ATRfags first interested in Gnosticism.

Other than that yeah it's a fairly weak book.

I need to thumb through Ontological Graffiti; I hear lots of reviews on its tone, good and bad, but with little reference to content.
>>
>>18576275
my primary concern with the book started in basically the first two paragraphs of the first chapter. Bertiaux discusses his initiation into the mysteries in Haiti and talks about how powerful it was, and then goes on to basically say "and now Im going to do the same thing for you in a book". I simply don't buy it, and I think it's dishonest to this initiatory process in particular. I am not saying self-initiation isn't possible in some practices, or even in ATR practices, but vodou in particular is very reliant on social and cultural presence and I believe the initiatory process is far more than just "here's some secret stuff we don't share, you're special now, pls dont put this in a book, is secret".

I dont really mind the syncretism, the exploration of spirit, and other ideas, after all the diaspora has always flourished on this stuff and it readily absorbs consumes and alters whatever encounters it, Im just concerned that Bertiaux either never really underwent any kind of initiation, or fundamentally failed to understand it's importance, and to me that calls the validity of the entire work into question.

meditation's a very broad term, can refer to anything from doing philosophy to rituals to self-hypnosis. These days usually refers to something like jon kabat zinn's mindfulness meditation.
Vipassana is a buddhist term which means something like "seeing how things really are". basically, practices which help you gain panna, or wisdom, the third training in buddhism after sila (ethical code) and samadhi (deep concentration). These days usually refers to the practices which came out of thailand and burma as a result of the complex interaction of therevada buddhism with imperial europe. Zinn's mindfulness meditation is largely taken from those practices.

Good post.

We really need to write a explanation of this that can be linked to for both meditation and yoga, it gets asked so fucking much.

Tibetan tantra yoga for example can get pretty wild and looks nothing like Hatha yoga.

I humbly tend to disagree. Puja and Sadhana look rather similar. This is to be expected. Moreover, both rely on dhyana in a Godform as a mediating stage to Samadhi.

Ape, I have a question.
I was thinking about this is the shower this morning.
Thats where I do alot of thinking.
>What posture do you meditate in
>Shampoo?!?
Okay, so youre practicing to attain buddahood in one lifetime.
Am I misunderstanding?
How are you resolving (probably the wrong word) this with your interest in Quimbanda?
One is primarily concerned with transcending the world of man.
One is intrinsically linked with the world of man.
Do you, or have you ever, seen this as a contradiction or incompatible.
Or, do you see Quimbanda as just another path to the cessation of suffering?
>Ive worn out all my anger for the week.
>Have a White Tara.
>>
>>18579772
not ape, and I apologize if it's rude of me to respond, but buddhahood isn't about transcending the world of man, at least in the tibetan tradition. What it is about I'm less confident I can say. It may be something like blissful understanding that you adn the world of man are the same product of the same interplay between emptiness and form and therefore, not in a irrational sense but in a rigorously rational but coherentist sense at the same time both unique and the same, both transient and eternal because nothing has intrinsic nature except the nature of changing and interacting bringing about new relational existences. Sorry, this was a terrible attempt.
>>
>>18579772
>Okay, so youre practicing to attain buddahood in one lifetime.
As it stands, any Buddhahood will be incidental. My goal is Mukti, and at this point it's something of a race to see which thunderbolt strikes first; Shiva's, or that of the Buddhadharma.

>How are you resolving (probably the wrong word) this with your interest in Quimbanda?
Does it actually need reconciliation? Didn't seem to bother Chumbley. Moreover, my fundamental position is that of Rinzai/experimental Thelema; what works, works. I will have to master as much as humanly possible to Attain, and there's not much going around this.

>One is primarily concerned with transcending the world of man.
See >>18580105
The Boddhisattva transcends all while going nowhere. He comes back to 'ground' without ever leaving. Also, Xingu/Arawak notions similar to "dreamtime" imply that the primordial nondual and undifferentiated Shamanic realm is both infinitely far from now, in time and space, but immanent in the Shamanic endeavor.

>Do you, or have you ever, seen this as a contradiction or incompatible.
No, by virtue of the whole "nondual attainment" thing referenced by >>18580105, the same sentiment in Kabbalah, and the same sentiment in Amazonian traditions feeding into Quimbanda and other Amazonian, particularly Arawak/Xingu, strains of thought.

>Or, do you see Quimbanda as just another path to the cessation of suffering?
I dunno what I think of it yet. Conceptually speaking I'm looking at all Shamanic traditions as potentially similar enough to Bon to render hard divisions meaningless.

Kurukulla is sort of a key in all of this. She has high-ritual (almost Western occult styled) and shamanic rites but is integrated fully into the Vajrayana system.

DBoE implies/tends/tries to posit a reconciliation of all nondual systems, East, West, or Shamanic. I feel like it only hits a 'sweet spot' on all three vectors in one ritual of the year.

>>18580342

Maybe I can push it farther. Maybe it will just be another tool in my toolbox. Only time will tell, as I'm very new to both Buddhism and Quimbanda. I still haven't finished my created lists of introductory reading for both.

Tantra actually has some heavy leaning on sorcery. I already referenced Kurukulla but on the Saivist/Kaula side there's materials like Sarada Tilaka Tantram which is so far above and beyond my head it ain't funny. Netra Tantra takes Svaccharanda Tantra and summarizes it, adding a fuckhuge chapter on literal Tantrik demonology.

This only makes sense, given that half of the contribution to Shiva/Shakti practice was from the indigenous tribal practices of the mountainous regions of India. Kiss of the Yogini gets into this with the evokation of minor dakinis/matrikas into the body of the Yogini which looks startlingly like Voudon possession.

Finally if all else fails I can compartmentalize.
>>
>>18580351
Anyway it's already like two, I'm going to make a touch more coffee and prep to scan the last of Tantraloka.

Y'all MAY well have a copy of Svaccharanda Tantra in the pipeline because I wanna buy it and if I'm going to brag about the most complete Uttara Kaula Tantra folder on the internet I may as well do it right and add yet another first-time release.

And that cycle tends to repeat through Vajrayana. The Buddhadharma transformed the Devas into allies of the Buddhist cause.

However, the early Vajrayana texts explicitly claim that Tantrik Saivism will grant Liberation. The early Vajrayana practitioners used Saivism long enough to say "Yup, it does what it says on the label" while expanding the material in various directions.

Also the image of Vajrapani as Herakles in a wrasslin' match with Shiva is infinitely amusing. Many lels and keks were had.
>>
>>18580468
Yeah, I figure the moral of the story was supposed to be "ok, that stuff works and we'll take some of it but we're still better at philosophy".

Of course, the influence went both ways; I've read smart folks who think Gorakhnath took theory and practice from the buddhists and brought it to the shaivites and of course the tibetan buddhists recognized he was both a shaivite and a mahasiddha. All of this telling you what you probably know is just to ask that when the thunderbolt strikes, you let us know who fired it and if you think you'd be able to tell the difference anyhow.
>>
>>18580553
>if you think you'd be able to tell the difference anyhow.
That's gonna be the dealbreaker, ain't it?
>>
>>18580553
>Gorakhnath
A particularly cut-and-dried case.

I still struggle with the fact that the most engaging philosopher of Saivism, and the one I agree with most, is the most overtly hostile to Buddhism.

I'd give everything to go back to the state sponsored debates of the Pala era to hear both sides make their cases for and against each other.

They're simply noting where blank pages between chapters have been removed, much like I do.

The first four chapters I uploaded are complete.

Incidentally I'm at 39% upload on the full TL. When it finishes will be your last chance to get them as individual chapters, as they're getting deleted to make room for Tantraloka, chapters 5-37 making just under a thousand pages.

You were just talking to a wise acre I think.
They do seem to be power hungry from time to time.
Meaning, their batteries are low and they need a power boost.
They frequently ask me for blood to drink.
I think you either spoke with what could be called an elemental, or one of the hungry ghosts who are spirits of the forgotten ancestors whose family do not leave offerings or some other form of memory veneration.
To make a long story short, you didnt fuck anything up.
Worst case scenario is the hungry ghost will pop up next time you use the board and ask to be fed again.
Just tell it you dont want to speak with it further and tell it goodbye.
Then try again.

What's the general consensus on jibberjabber? Is it like static on a bad connection, or intentional on the part of the entity?
thanks for the list, but there's not really anything on there that I could see that could correspond to numbers, so I'm probably going to have to write it off for now as more jibberjabber, or alluding to something which I presently have no reference for.

Wise acre? not familiar with this, aside from a brief google search on its etymology. Some sort of charlatan entity? Is it not uncommon for entities to claim to be who they aren't? What's the best way to discern if they're lying, aside from common sense, and taking everything with a grain of salt?
>>
Long ass day at work.

>>
>>18586950
It can be static, or intentional.
If youre having a conversation thats going well and suddenly you get a garble, then back to good conversation - that is like static on the line or a bad connection.
But, in this instance with all the rest of the description I think you were just dealing with a smart ass (wise acre).
>>
>>18586950
Just be cautiously optimistic.
Ask questions, get answers, and try to disprove the answers.
If the answers are good, keep asking for that same entity.
Eventually you will know when its the same one and when its not.
The same as learning the personality of someone you just met.
And yes, they will tell you all kinds of stories of who they are.
Its not like you can prove them wrong easily.

A few weeks ago I came to /x/ and asked for someone to use magic to kill me because my life is irreparably fucked. Since then, my life has gotten so much worse.

The day after I asked, my air fryer caught on fire and nearly burned my house down. As I was taking it outside, I stepped on a burning hot screw that melted off of the air fryer, and it stuck to my foot thanks to the melted plastic. I burned the piss out of my fingers trying to get it off of my foot. Shortly after that, several of my appliances started breaking down. My dishwasher, my air purifier, my washer and dryer and several other things. There's also been almost nonstop fighting between family members, and I'm starting to get dragged into it. I've never been more depressed than I am now.

Did someone curse me to suffer more, or is this part of the process? What do I do?

Does anyone have any ideas how I can grow closer to the twin being Ishtar/Astaroth?

Should I follow rituals in the Goetia and attempt communion? So far I am leaving offerings of art and whispering their names as I lull to sleep which provides hard visions of a spider headed goddess with my face emerging from her abdomen.
>>
>>18588261
Maybe try Verum. It's more about building relationship with spirits, gives structure and covers offerings. Jake Stratton Kent's edition (True Grimoire) is best and has chapter specifically about Astaroth.

Claudia Canuto de Menezes.

She was the rightful heir of Marcelo Ramos Motta. She was older school wave 2 radfem. Bisexual. Poet.

Instead of carrying the flame she fucked off back to Brazil to teach literature at a university, where she's been ever since. Probably getting close to death.

She's the Scarlet Woman we never got to know.

>Let me first ask you to keep absolute silence about this correspondence, which will be good for all of us. Outside, there are all kinds of cowards, jealous and lazy ones, who prefer to lead their lives (lives?) looking for reasons to badmouth others. Even if I don’t use my legal name, but my Name on the Outer, there are persons who will know right away who is writing, and honestly, I don’t want them to know where I am. COUSINS

You carved your name on the trunks of trees.
I embraced them. The fairies laughed,
Through your mouth
dancing, dancing.

The sun on your hair was my father's.
I never forgave you that.
But from whom did you steal
the song of sumer?
Of januaries damp and wet?

Sylvia, we were thirteen and foolish:
heat cracked the earth.
Moist waves of perfume
filled my nostrils, your breath;
shock of tongue on tongue
streams of silent sweat

And the knots in the womb screaming
in unresolved pain
a puzzle of vertigoes
drowning
drowning

Pools of fresh water
I never a nymph again

WOMAN

What would
my male lovers do

Woman

if they knew how breast
against soft breast sang
soft

on a dazed afternoon

the sun locked out
the juices

of lilies crushed between
upper thighs making

maddening scented potion

oh how in your mouth I
became
ripe fig about

to fall
and your fingers grew
inside me

like dancing trees
the screams

of Night arising I in your
dark caves embraced

by moonless lichen
a cat staring
in black

communion
so what could they do

when I'm pregnant forever with yearning
for you

who taught me to love all women?

I've been reading a lot of 17th century zen swordsmanship books, alongside practicing meditation, Aikido, iaido and yoga.

Any recommended literature for a samurai sorcerer/weeb wizard? I'm trying to come up with my own magick answer it's all very chaotic, rather than transcendent.
>>
>>18592669

You don't need a sigil for that. Go read Prometheus Rising if you want to learn how to reprogram yourself. But to actually answer the question, yes, you can.

Definitely possible to mindfuck yourself in to a worse state. In my opinion, this is one of those books that should be re-read until you're able to confidently formulate your own process to facilitate a smooth transition to a desired state, based on the ideas it presents. It's like fucking around with the bios and operating system on your computer; great potential to improve, but blind/half-informed tinkering could brick it.

Thanks for an answer. I really want to change, because I'm shit now and this looks like it would help me, but I don't want to fuck myself more. >put both candles in contact with each other in a single dish or candle holder
>light both, think of your loved one and say incantation

stages of progress in jhana, attempted paraphrase of the teachings of ven. pa auk sayadaw as presented in practicing jhana's by snyder and rasmussen
1) first sit, deepening concentration
2) nimitta commences: usually flickering of light, or smoky sensation of breath like exhaling in cold weather. It can be any shape or location, maintain awareness on meditation object only.
3) Nimitta inreases in size, appears more frequently, can appear off-cushion. Try to spend more time in meditation and stay with the object outside of meditation
4) nimitta stabilizes: appears for duration of practice consistently. Try to minimize energy expenditure, stimulation
5) nimitta becomes solid and energized, crisp and bright: practitioner is relaxed yet energized, sense of ease
6) nimitta moves towards merging with the object of concentration: it will dissapate if you try to force it or desire it to strongly
7) nimitta merges with it: this becomes your new object, maintain “meditative stability” on it for min. 30 minutes, then resolve to enter first jhana
8) nimitta draws awareness into first jhana: Factors include citakka vicara piti sukha and ekaggata. sense of self, time and body decrease personal sense of consciousness feels purified then merge intoimpersonal universal consciousness.
>>
>>18564679
9) Attain five masteries before moving on to the next jhana. Do this with every other jhana in turn once you attain them: 1) direct attention to the jhana factors 2) enter jhana whenever desired 3) determine to remain fully in jhana for hours 4) emerge from jhana at determined time 5) review the jhana factors (to see which jhana you were in before ending practice or moving to the next jhana, this is after you emerge from jhana because inquiring is inconsistent with full absorption) Once you have attained the five masteries resolve to attain the next jhana. There is a momentum carrying you towards the next jhana as some of the factors begin to feel burdensome
10) second jhana: feel unnecessary and drop away, each jhana has a distinct “flavour”
11) 3rd jhana: piti feels unnecessary and drops away, awareness merges with concentration and no effort is exerted
12) 4th jhana: upekkha replacrs sukha ekaggata and upekkha feel very full and grounded, buddhagosa says the breath stops here and it feels like it does
13) master the thirty two body parts meditation and skeleton meditation and attain the five masteries over the 4 physical jhanas with anananasatti, and the ten kasinas

it's bed time so i'll stop here, but if you attain 4th jhana (using one object, i won't tell) let me know and i'll tell you about the formless realms.

or if this seems a bit too hinayana for your tastes see that vajrayana archive i posted earlier in the thread
