Cats are definitely mysterious.

There's an old folks home somewhere that has a cat to keep the residents happy and entertained. Apparently a week before a person dies, without fail, he sits on the persons bed with them for the duration of the week, almost as if to keep the person comforted. Apparently the cat is so accurate that they now come to assume the worst when he chooses a new person to sit with.

Also their purring resonates at the same frequency that flesh and bone use to repair themselves. No one knows exactly how or why a cat purrs but there is something deeply spiritual about holding a cat who is purring intensely.

The parts of a cats brain that control its emotions are almost identical to a humans, theoretically they can experience all of the small nuances and scruples that humans may feel, joy, depression, envy, bravery etc

Cats can make over 100 different vocal sounds, in comparison to dogs who can only make around 10.
However, adult cats only ever "meow" to humans. They have learned over time that we communicate more orally then physically, and they attempt to match this behaviour when wanting to "speak" to us. They have even developed particular calls that match the same pitch/tone as a babies cry, so as to evoke the strongest emotional response possible from us.

If you find cats are naturally comfortable around you and come out of their way to see you it could either be that they sense you are calm and they want to interact with you, or possible they sense you are sad and want to comfort you. Who really knows? Ultimately though its a beautiful thing to be able to share the experience of life and connect with these creatures, I'd embrace the cat love.

I believe that a cat's purr has healing properties. My back has chronic issues after several surgeries in the sub-dermal level of my pelvic and L1-L5 regions. Very often I will have sharp pain in these areas, and while I used to go to the chiropractor with reasonable success, for some reason sitting with my cat on my lap has always seen better results.

Cats don't spend time with witches, it's the other way around. Witches prefer companionship from cats because the connection between a cat and their owner is deep and emotional with both parties allowing for more energy to be utilized in spells/potions that require said energy.
How evil they are is really dependent on how much human contact they've had over life and the quality of the contact is important too.
E.g., if you're always rude to a cat, it'll always be rude back.

My land lord is an asshole and won't let us have pets.
However this neighborhood cat (pic related) likes to hang out near my house lots and he's very friendly to me.
There's a few other neighborhood cats who always walk up to me and make eye contact. I love that I can kind of summon them. Like if I just walk around in my neighborhood enough, they'll start appearing.

You know, I've heard a lot about this parasite (mainly because I'm curious about it's effects on the human body since I own and love cats) and I haven't necessarily heard that the rats become "sexually attracted to urine".
I'll believe it alters behaviour as there are multiple articles about how it does. Rats/mice infected lose a heavy portion of their "fear" emotion, which causes them to feel safe near a predator rather than fleeing.
I'm not attempting to disprove your pic but I can't help but wonder how pic's OP would try and fit that factor in there.

As far as I know, cats are thought to ward off evil spirits, or at the very least, can identify ghosts and such and will notify people as best as they can. Cats in Egyptian mythology are noted to be defenders of people from evil a lot, so I think they most likely signify protection and safety.

My mom died about 2 years ago from ALS, and in her last week, my cat spent increasing amounts of time with my mom. On the day my mom died, my cat wouldn't leave the room and spent the entire day lying beside my mom until she passed.

I'm not sure if they're mystical, but cats are sure as hell tuned into something we aren't.

We've had many cats in our family and I really loved them all. Cats sense that I like them so they come to me. My friends call me "cat whisperer" because cats come to me so often. I become friends with them instantly if they let me scratch and pat them.

When I was child our cats would come to comfort me when I was sad. They really sensed my mood and made me feel better.

Cats have been known to drop off their babies to humans that seem like good caregivers. Several people I have known have reported similar stories of mother cats getting their attention and either leading them to the babies or literally handing them a kitten then leaving.

If you believe in divine animals then being gifted kittens should be seen as a blessing. After all, most wild mother animals do not give their young up unless they are dead.
