I hope OP comes back, I'd hate to feel like we've hijacked his efforts. It would make me laugh if he returns in a few days to tell us we have the wrong place altogether.
I'll just repost the stuff. I need to correct a few spelling mistakes anyway.

>>17639270

Who's is he exactly?

From previous thread:

If you recall from E Zeds story, there are a few pointers of the location

> 30 miles South, as the crow flies, from Wells
> Slightly North of the road off Highway 93 that goes in to Ruby Valley... This appears to check out as road 229

In this area, between 20-40 miles (to account for error), two mines crop up:

- Polar Star Mine
- Echo Mine

Echo mine appears to be rather flat, and devoid of much vegetation. However, Polar Star mine seems to throw up some interesting data.
>>
File: Polar Star Mine.png (1MB, 1350x550px) Image search: [Google]
Polar Star Mine.png
1MB, 1350x550px
>>17639295

Whilst the GIS data point for Polar Star Mine is located 250m east of the area that I wish to draw attention to, it could be possible that the mining site had multiple shafts in the area to obtain the ore when it was in operation.

I will next discuss Point 1
>>

Weell and shack.png
2MB, 1350x650px
>>17639305

Zooming in to Point 1, I notice what appears to be an unconformity in the image, which may possibly be a shack nestled between some trees.

At the second point it shows what appears to be a well; a dark spot/hole in the ground, yet it casts a shadow, indicating elevation from the ground.

Looking back to the previous image, you can see this is obviously at a higher elevation than the road, which is consistent with the story.

In E Zed's story, he stated that a ridge ran alongside the road, at an elevation of 100ft.

The topographic profile from the road to the top of the ridge shows a difference of 32m, or 104ft for you barbarians who have yet to adopt the metric system (that said, we use both interchangeably lol).

>>17639330

The final pieces of evidence I have for now are the road length and shape.

> "After the tree the road continued straight for about 200 yards, then hooked back before becoming 90 degrees"

It more or less fits.

If you look at the original picture, the curve in the path seems to exactly match E Zed's diagram - See the bottom left of E Zed's picture. The road dies off, but he did say it was an old path, barely visible, so he could have been essentially driving offroad up to this point.

I'll post a picture next without the annotations, for a clearer view of the path.

However:

I cannot see the "Canyon" he described, nor the 15ft rock. However, given the location of the rock on his map, it could well be obscured within the trees.

Not trying to shit on your parade but that area is one of the most popular hunting areas in the state. They give out a shit ton of tags there for deer and it's crawling with people every fall.

NDOW does extensive helicopter surveys there as well because of the mountain goats and the old herd of big horn sheep.

There's no way that there's a giant sloth man living up there that hasn't been seen with that many people with optics running around.
>>
>>17639382

Perhaps, but we're having fun, and waiting on the guys out there to come back with any stories.

So? What makes you so sure?

Not trying to shit on your parade but
Assuming a single creature has survived to this point in that area, it's not so far-fetched to think it, and its predecessors, also learned to avoid hooman beans.

Literally hundreds of people take to the mountains there every fall and they have been doing it every fall for decades. All of them with binoculars, spotting scopes and rifle scopes looking for animals.

Some bouncing up roads in beat up trucks, some on ATV/UTVs, some on horse back and some just hiking with day packs.

There's absolutely no way.

Not the same guy you've been discussing this with so far, but have you ever actually gone out into nature much yourself? I'm not saying you're 100% wrong, I guess anything's possible, but the objections he's raising to this are more than legitimate. I feel anyone who has even made a casual habit of stepping out of the city wouldn't be dismissing these points out of hand like that. You come off as someone who has just imagined these sorts of areas rather than actually been in many of them. I could be wrong about that, I obviously don't know you, just the impression I get. Hell, I'm no seasoned woodsman myself, but I've at least gone camping/hiking enough to sense that your counterarguments don't come off as being founded on any real knowledge of what you're talking about, just some narrow wiggle room for doubt and the desire to believe in a good story.

Of course you can keep things well-concealed things out in the woods, but we're not exactly talking "meth-lab-hidden-in-a-national-forest" territory here. E Zed claims to have driven right into this area in a pickup truck, and he's far from the only guy cruising around out there. And says he basically saw a small army of these large animals, which, even if we suppose they're somehow concealing their bodies as effectively as you suppose they can, would still be leaving plenty of traces: shit, hair, prints, claw marks, traces of whatever they're eaten; I'm sure more things I can't even think of that someone who actually knows how to track animals would.

Not trying to be a dick, but there IS rain on the parade. Doesn't mean you've got to cancel the event, but you can't just pretend the rain's not there, either. If E Zed wasn't supposedly heading back out there himself in the very near future and planning to report back, I don't honestly think there'd be much merit in holding any interest in all of this based on what we have so far.
>>
>>17639561
I'm the guy who says that there's nothing out there.

Honestly you can never know 100% that nothing is out there but statistically odds are against it.

I have been hunting, fishing, hiking and camping in northern Nevada for 25+ years and I know that when you are out hunting you find good vantage points and "glass" (use optics like binoculars and spotting scopes) for hours some times. Looking over entire landscapes trying to find the animals that you're looking for.

It's an interesting snoopy story but odds are better that it's just not true than of it being true.
>>
desu im not 100% sold on Polar Star but i do think it might hold some merit. Also if this is a very popular hunting spot where tons of tags are sold then either these things could be a local legend in the aruea with there being more sightings or its just not Polar star. Also the shack could be another mineshaft or an equipment shed its not certainly a cabin but i think you may got something.

Wait, this is that story where the guy says he climbed over a fallen tree, and all the sudden the whole area went dead quiet, and he felt like he was being watched?

Then he found some spoopy cabin that still had tons of stuff inside?

Why the hell does anyone think this is real? Your detective work on google maps doesn't prove anything, since the guy who wrote the original story probably was inspired by an actual location he visited.

Of all the things that /x/ could pretend to believe are true for the sake of a good time, you do it over an unremarkable pasta with a bland sloth-bear thing?

Well then, I guess /x/ gets to make history here, since someone who browses a forum devoted to paranormal happenings just so happened to have encountered an entire colony of cryptic creatures that had to up to this point completely managed to avoid discovery. And they're aggressive, too. But still never were discovered before.

there's a difference between naysaying and disagreeing but contributing

you'd rather replies to the thread were just "impossibru!" and spam?
>>
>>17642830
Well, I guess would consider naysaying more along the lines of "u guys r retards how can u habeeb?" Which, granted, has happened, along with some outright trolling, but we've also had a guy who's apparently familiar with the general area bring up perfectly legitimate reasons to doubt this story, to which the counterarguments such as they are that he's received so far have just been embarrassing, if they count as arguments at all rather than annoyed dismissals. And another guy who has raised the possibility that E Zed just ran into a bear with sarcoptic mange, which no has one seemed interested in acknowledging/refuting.

I also don't see how calling anyone lacking faith a samefag/shill makes it into the Overton window for this thread, but bringing up some just basically true shit about bear afflictions or how humans canvass that area is "not contributing". I mean, the "shill" thing alone seems to have introduced, without receiving much criticism, the idea that some organization is hiding secret sloths in the woods and actively trying to sabotage the non-efforts (Geophysics being the exception, I guess) of a bunch of armchair sleuths on the Internet. Because reasons, apparently.

I mean, I know I'm just talking into the wind here, since a the ethos of /x/ is pretty much one that has no patience for anyone doing any less or any more when it comes to the paranormal than kicking back and circlejerking to some good greentext. How would you propose disagreement in a more contributory manner in a thread like this?

I'm starting to have my doubts. If E Zed has half the stamina of the shills in this thread he should be fine.
>>
>>17651956
Or maybe E zed is already dead? As soon as he got out there they instantly attacked him before he could set up. Just a thought so cause I really don't want to lose hope.

Or maybe he's just putting us on a ruse cruse.
>>
>>17651956
>>17653358
in the last thread e zed said this:

>I will also have my DeLorme inreach satellite communicator so that I can drop a link so you can track my progress and follow it on a map
>>
>>17653331
Is "shill" just a synonym for "troll" on /x/ at this point, or do some of you people actually believe that there are paid agents making half-hearted efforts to discourage you guys from continuing all the jack shit you've been doing on this case? Seriously explain your reasoning for believing that this is a likely scenario, and also for believing that it is a MORE likely one than other people on 4chan just independently concluding that this is retarded and making fun of you.
>>
>>17653520
I don't take it seriously,it's just like calling someone a cuck 'cause that don't agree with you,but some of the paranoid people believe it,seen a few threads before

So has any actual progress been made or are we just jerking each other off?
>>
>>17653705
No progress has been made for days
>>
>>17653691
What exactly are you asking me to "prove", aside from the fact that you're a dumbass and have no ability to assess other people's writing styles, which I've already done to the extent possible with a screencap? I mean, if you're just trolling, it's all good and successful troll is successful, I guess, 'cause I'm about at the point where I can't suspend disbelief anymore that you're for real with these responses.

what kind of guns and gear would we be looking at bringing?
I remember the OP said he brought a rifle the first time, not sure how effective it was. I don t have a big armory but id rather not bring everything in the event the police get involved
>>
>>17653802
.45-70. Its great for large game and with handloads can even be used to hunt large African game.
>>
I'm not a shill, but E Zed is unable to go through with this
Do you know the power of getting actual evidence of these creatures?
There's more than one alphabet soup organization looking at this, they aren't going to let the truth out
If he posts evidence you better save it as quickly as you can and back that shit up at least 5 times
This has the effect of dramatically changing zoology and everything associated with that to the core

But then again this is /x/, I wouldn't and will not expect much
>>
Bump for more shit. I wan t more of this.
>>
>>17653996
this is true as fuck. otherwise there would be WAY more evidence of everyones claims on cryptids they've encountered
>>
>>17639245
I'm down to explore that shit.
Guns?
If I went I'd bring a .30-06 deer rifle and glock. Thoughts?

If there actually was something relevant, then we wouldn't want it hidden 200 posts into a thread, you mong.

but I suppose they'd want to post their own thread so I'll delete it
>>
>>17657338
cannot delete a post that old.

mods janitors pls
>>
>>17657338
Recent developments don't exactly wind up "hidden" by being at the very end of a chronologically-organized thread. More people would have missed it by not realizing discussion had moved to a new thread than by having to check the one they've already been checking. Well, at least you realized it was a silly idea.

Because creatures that defy the laws of nature are pretty fucking significant.
Say a fleshgait was actually caught, something that can shapeshift and do all that insane supernatural shit would demand a change and would defunct most written laws of physics, nature, biology, etc.
Plus it will cause a domino effect, if fleshgaits are real then so is Bigfoot, aliens, etc
The impact is bigger than anyone can imagine
>>
>>17657584
Do giant sloths defy the laws of nature though? If we got fossils and alligators(I think) and sharks have hardly changed in a million years,I don't think these things exactly defy nature

Iridescent hematite. I guess Photoshop may have been used in post-production to bring out the colours, but the stuff is very beautiful.

Opal's my personal favourite. I would love to find a fucking huge chunk of it, or an opalised fossil.
