Do you have a place where you post your stuff? Some really cool stuff I like it. I'm way over in another thread working on an /x/ comic and I was wondering if at any point in the future If i needed a design for a monster I could get one designed by you, or maybe borrow a design.
If not I would just like to have another /x/ anon to share art with.
I love to draw free form. what i do is basically doodling, but with the attitude that as a concious being creating and having fun, what I'm doing is one of the pinnacles of creation. Not in a grandious, im-the-best kind of way, in a monk way i guess? But like a RAW or Beefheart kind of monk.
Just being open to creative energy as it is, no deity put to it or even words really. Im having trouble just puting words to it.
Drawing like this, unintentional symbolism and meaningful connections seep through somtimes. It's entertaining.
Also weed.

Millennials in college unable to focus long enough to read books:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/university-students-are-struggling-to-read-entire-books-a6986361.html
University academics caused a furor this week by claiming many students found the thought of reading books all the way to the end “daunting”, due to shorter attention spans and an inability to focus on complex philosophies.

I'm not an artist, just someone who likes art and drawthreads. And no one here is trying to paint the goddamn Sistine chapel here. Is some of this art mediocre? Yes. Does some of it even suck? Probably. But it's just people having fun and posting art for free, much of which is interesting, so why do you deliberately pick out the worst pieces in here and say that everyone sucks, stop posting?
>Grow up or quit art.
And see, here's where you really lose. If anything, you should be encouraging them to draw a lot more, so that they will improve.

>>17594590

>>17596502
Oh cool! Thanks!
How long would you say your stippling takes for a drawing? I never had the patience for it. You can always tell when I got impatient and got sloppy.
>>17596503
I hate that, it's so disappointing because I get genuinely STOKED every single time I see the new follower Icon. I think you also have to post quality art consistently and relatively often. I don't have much time for art (as much as I love it), and nobody wants to follow an art account that posts every 8 weeks, even if they do like the style.
>>17596520
Yeah, I'm trying to make a personal rule of 1 post a day, but I've gotta work on the quality part. Working 40 hours a week definitely doesn't help.
>>17596517
A long fucking time haha. But not as long as it takes to draw the tiny circles. It's hard to make a relatively accurate estimation because I'll stipple for two minutes, get bored, and come back to the drawing a few days later to do another two minutes. I've been trying to come up with a way to put more color into my drawings and I'm inspired by your stuff. I just really like the way you arrange the colors (and the concepts themselves of course)

I'm all for people posting their art regardless of quality, in line with that the topic of this thread is "your /x/ related art" and not necessarily "quality /x/ art". I just have a legitimate concern that [you] are underage -- you have to be at least 18 to post on 4chan. Didn't know if you knew that. There is literally not a single non-autistic adult that would unironically produce a piece of "art" akin to that. God forbid you're over 18, then yeah, seriously consider quitting art because you should be fucking disappointed with yourself.
also, it's so obvious you are the poster from>>17594789 , but w/e, if you're not .. like .. congratulations on adding to that person's delusions that their skill level ISN'T gravely concerning.

great movie. are you the artist I was replying to? or just an anon commenting on District 9 in general?
(am wondering if I was right in seeing the influence there in the work.)
Since there are so many of you artists here, I thought I'd drop this off here for you all to check out. While I'm sure there are many artists whose work is dark, uncanny, macabre, even morbid (Zdzislaw Beksinski is one whose pieces show up in creepy image threads often), one artist in particular stands out for me. I was actually kind of horrified when I discovered Olivier de Sagazan on /x/ a few years back when someone posted the following video. I had no idea at all what it was that I was watching that first time, and it freaked me out a good bit. I won't say any more about it so that you may choose to read about him or the performance beforehand, or after seeing it, yourselves.
Transfiguration - performance Olivier de Sagazan

maybe some of you have come across this video on /x/ already. I posted it myself along with a few paintings of his in a recent creepy images thread. Another anon then posted his site where there were photographs of several of his sculptures over the years.
Again, just wanted to mention him here because I figured you'd be the type of anons here who'd find his work to be not just awesome, but quite "/x/ worthy" in his subject and style as well.

Is Beksinski an influence, anon? great piece. the mirrors and the cubic shading really give it a unique sort of depth. the lines of the fingers following down the long shin and the shoulders reminded me of SB

>Draft for a painting of a ghost I'm working on. It's slow going, I'm trying to connect it with the theme of self-love and taking care of oneself. Any ideas?
I was about to post this "is that supposed to be a figure/person/spirit/thingie in the middle of that cool-lookin' room" whenever I noticed your comment with your post!
>ghost
it makes sense now!
I LOVE the room. the colors, the impressionistic aspect. I saw the room and it's pieces straight away.
the only thing that you could perhaps try differently with the room itself is to maybe add items, hints of items, on the bed, in the window sill, or somewhere - thing that could connect the room to that theme you were talking of... I don't know what those items or objects might be off the top of my head - not sure what could represent self-love and taking care of oneself. But yeah, maybe you could add something somewhere that show or symbolize your theme..
it wasn't really obvious it was a ghost to me - but i told you what i wrote before I saw the explanation - so take that for what it's worth. i don't know that you need to change a thing. I did think at one point, if it was meant to be a human person, maybe they were kneeling or even mediating. and i noticed its triangle shapes, and even what looks like flames at the top of the figure.
funny, you could probably easily add some things to make the room look as if a suicidal or unhappy or sick or suffering person lived there. at least for me, I can imagine that. it's more difficult to picture what would be in around the room of a person who's on the path to enlightenment.
keep it up, anon. hope i helped.
omg. UPDATE:
you know how I didn't notice your comment until after I'd started writing? I was about to post and now I see the actual GHOST (up and to the right of the figure, sweeping up from the bottom right with it's head at the top of the window.) WOW.
p.s. maybe check out The Picture of Dorian Gray for a different influence/inspiration

Well, she's opening her heart up to you to show the emptiness and evil of her true being :P
>>17608430
cool concept. finely drawn. don't think it's actually "surreal" though.

I like their eyeballs. The blue and brown eyeballs in particular.

I keep saying "cool" for the stuff I like in this thread. How about, I'd pay money to see this in /x/'s sticky instead of having to see that white little bitchface with the black eyes one more time.
is that ink and marker and ?? is that a piece of a bag that it's on?

Thumbprints!!
Love it. Specially with the contrast of the harder lines of the sorta spider web there.

Yeah, I was kinda pretending she wasn't evil after I saw the heart in the pit of her stomach
like mine was
fucking hell. scary. maybe it's the size adding on, but that second one gave me a "i don't like this feeling" like the one i get when I look at that big picture of the scary hair hanging down, eyes looking right the fuck at you, ghost woman face from Mama.

There's more.
But it appears this thread is autosaging now. Somebody make a new one?
