Okay /wsr/, I've been having this problem since I bought this Asus laptop. Every once in a while, my laptop disconnects itself from my internet provider. Usually I have a quick fix for this, turn off my WiFi adapter and turn it back on again. The problem here is it happens too often to be ignored, and sometimes when it does happen, my WiFi bugs out and refuses to show my networks. Not only that, but it happens in episodes. I'll have to restart it ~7 times in a row in bursts of 10 minutes.
It's really testing me.
Help a brother out?
I know this is going to sound stupid and not helpful but Google it.
Go into your device manager and under Network Adapters see which wireless AC adapter you have. It's likely Wireless AC-7265, take that name and Google it with "disconnect" or something
I've currently got an Asus laptop that does the same. Mine actually goes to shit when you put the Laptop on your actual lap. On a surface it's sort of fine but put any fabric in the way and it chokes. Paid £800 for it too.

They're called "notebooks" not "laptops", for this exact reason.

Ay cheeky cunt I got it from the Laptop section of the website. That's no excuse when my old Intel Pentium Samsung Laptop that's been going over a decade functions fine regardless of surface.
It's a laptop, using it as one shouldn't hinder its performance

OP here.
Thanks, even if it was obvious... I should've thought about that but whatever.
Used the third to last post in this Intel thread
https://communities.intel.com/thread/54590?start=45&tstart=0
Will post in like a day and report if it fixed it.

Aight that didn't fix it, at least not entirely.
Fortunately I continued down the list of searches in Google and found one that claimed to work after switching bandwidth to 20Hz.
So now I'm testing that out.

Ok none of that fixed it, if anything it's worse... Somehow.
I will keep looking around provided my laptop doesn't confuse itself.
OP here, again, downloaded this optional update I found on an Intel forum
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25601/Serial-IO-Intel-Serial-IO-Driver-for-Windows-10
Applied it, will update later for results.
on, off, on off onoffonofffonoff
someone save me from this hell, nothing I do works

I'm sorry anon
Are you sure it's not just your laptop? Maybe the surface is making a difference? I don't know man because I'm faced with a similar issue
>>282642
guess I can test it.
I wouldn't see how it makes a difference but I'll try.

If no one else pipes up here, I'd try >>>/g/sqt
I really don't know what the issue could be. My Laptop get better when I hold it in the air, as unconventional as that is. It's just your Laptop doing this, right? No other devices? Are you sure it's not faulty? Does it do it even when you're close to the router?
