So, there's this thing called neural imaging, and it's pretty fucking great. The problem is, if you want to actually be able to use the process on your own machine, you have to go through a Python-based installation process with a few pre-requisites, and the very few installation guides that exist for these assume that you have a full working knowledge of Python already.

So, for something like https://github.com/andersbll/neural_artistic_style, all you need is DeepPy (https://github.com/andersbll/deeppy) and CUDArray (https://github.com/andersbll/cudarray). But the actual installation process for these and for the Neural Artistic Style itself are vague as all hell and don't make a whole lot of sense to me as someone with only basic Javascript experience.

Basically, tl;dr How in the fuck do you actually go about installing these if you don't have a full knowledge of Python?
>>
The CUDArray has installation instructions.

For DeepPy, just download it, open a command prompt, cd to the directory DeepPy is in, and run
>python setup.py

this is assuming you have python installed

What's the difference between doing the CUDArray install with and without the CUDA backend? That's what I was concerned about with that one in particular.

That's pretty sick.

Interesting, got any more sample images?

One of my favorites.

Alright, even with Python installed (started with Python 2, tried it again with Python 3) I still can't manage to figure this out. I still can't get past CUDArray because CMD isn't recognizing the Python command, even when I'm trying to install without the CUDA backend.

I officially have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, and I'm starting to feel stupid the more I try.

You should. But not because you don't currently know how to use python - that's just ignorance, and ignorance stops when information is acquired.

You're still quite stupid though:

When installing 3.5.1, there's a checkbox at the bottom of the install window that reads "Add Python to PATH". That will make cmd recognize python as a command.
